SaddleBaby Hands Free Shoulder Carrier £50 @ Amazon

Have you ever heard of the SaddleBaby? I hadn't until today, and I must say I have never seen anything quite like it.

It's designed as a 'hands free shoulder carrier', and it is a shoulder seat for children that attaches to your backpack.

It has an ergonomic saddle that is supposed to be very comfy for children and the adult doing the carrying, and it also has ankle cuffs with dual safety systems to secure child.

The idea is to make it easier and safer to carry a child on your shoulders and is for children aged around 2 to 5 years.

I can definitely see times where this might be useful (one reviewer mentioned a parade, and it would certainly help kids to see over others' shoulders), though whether you would get enough use from it to justify the £50 price is going to depend an awful lot on your lifestyle. It does look like it might be a bit of a faff to get on and off again too, but if the payback is greater comfort then that may well make it worth every penny.
