Argos are selling this Talking Chess and Draughts Academy game for less than half-price (£10.99 instead of £29.99) until, the small print says, 1 February 2011.
I LOVE CHESS.
My usual demeanour is kind, generous, gentle and loving, I'm afraid all of that goes out of the window when I play chess and draughts. Nice me is replaced with RUTHLESS me and there can be no mercy - checkmate in three moves against my husband one day and I haven't let him forget it since *evil grin*
It's widely acknowledged that learning how to, and playing, chess increases brain power, so teaching your child to play chess is a GOOD thing...but then I would say that, did I mention I love chess.
Playing chess and draughts teaches logic, strategy, forward planning and also how to look for different ways to reach a single outcome - to be the WINNER.
This Talking Chess and Draughts Academy game requires 2 AAA and 3 AA batteries which aren't included and is available for home delivery (which will cost you £5.95) or collection for free in-store.
