Just the picture for this toy has brightened up my whole day. Definitely one of the better toys to help keep the kids occupied in the garden this summer. And one that I can see myself having fun with too! It is the Giant Goal from ELC, marked down from £18 to £9. Standard delivery is £4.95.
I am a little disappointed at the lack of information on this toy at both the ELC site and the Mothercare site. From the photo it looks like inflatable goal posts. However, they could just as easily be tubes. Either way it does look fairly lightweight, but then it is aimed at younger children. One good thing about buying from the internet is that you do have the right to return an item if you find you don't like it (within 7 days, and obviously, not scuffed with football marks!).
According to the manufacturer's blurb, the giant goalie gloves will make saving footballs easier for the little ones. Which seems to miss the point entirely. Surely the selling point is how much FUN they are? My first thought when seeing them was GIANT GOALIE GLOVES, yes! I showed the picture to my five year old son and he laughed uproariously and said he thought that they looked like lots of fun, and can he have some please? The set also comes with an inflatable ball. Recommended age is from three plus.
