Big City Carry Along City £20 (Was £40) @ ELC / Mothercare

Big City Carry Along City £20 (Was £40) @ ELC / Mothercare

This toy is a really clever design, as it's a road system with ramps, fly-overs, and bridges to drive toy cars over and it all folds in on itself to make it's own compact carry case! It makes it a great toy to take away with you, and it solves the tricky issue of storage as well. It's also half price at ELC and Mothercare, down from £40 to £20 with free click and collect.

This Carry Along City is part of the Big City range, so you can get other sets that connect with it to expand your road system, and there are car sets as well, but you can use any that will fit on the ramps and roads of course - we use Hot Wheels on ours and they work just fine. There is also storage space for favourite cars in the Carry Along City when you fold it into the case.

My son has this toy and it's one of his absolute favourites. He has played with it every single day since he got it at Christmas, in fact it's out in the living room as I write! It's had a fair bit of abuse with two small boys in the house, but it's still all working fine, in fact it's doing amazingly well since it gets put up and stored away again every day. I really can't recommend it enough, and if you have a kid who is mad on vehicles it's a brilliant buy.

The bit that you can see behind that little lad in the photo is the Big City Garage*, which is very impressive indeed, and that's also reduced, down from £55 to £40. It joins up to the Carry Along City to make the playset bigger, but it doesn't have the handy pack away feature that this does. If we hadn't just spent the last of my son's birthday money on his beloved Cosy Coupe we would be getting the Garage I think. Perhaps that will go on the Christmas list.

The Carry Along City can be collected from store for free, or home delivery is £3.95.
