It’s September and time always flies between now and Christmas, so I’m in Christmas list mode already – stop tutting and don’t run away screaming, try it! I promise, there’s nothing quite like having Crimbo all wrapped up way ahead of time!
DVD boxsets always make for great pressies (boxsets are for life, not just for Christmas!) and you can’t go wrong, price wise, if you pick them up from Zavvi.
If you are of a similar age to me then when I say ‘Street Hawk’ you’ll already be proclaiming, “OHHHH! I remember THAT! Street Hawk was AWESOME!” well, Zavvi have the complete series Street Hawk DVD box set up for grabs for just £17.95.
If you aren’t familiar with Street Hawk, he was the cooler motorbike alternative to Knight Rider and if you’re not familiar with Knight Rider then I can’t help you – you’re too young!
I was actually looking for a copy of The Notebook – I can be a bit of a romantic and people keep telling me I should watch it, I had a quick nosey for it in Tescos yesterday but couldn’t find it; Zavvi have it for £5.85 instead of £19.79.
Now, about that £10k! If you place the millionth order with Zavvi this month then you’ll win £10,000 in cash, it’s as simple as that! Click the link, read the T&Cs and best of luck if you place an order!

If you’re not a Monday person then maybe up to 80% off lots of things as part of Zavvi’s Mega Monday event will cheer you up!
I’ve all but given up buying CDs and DVDs ‘in the real’. Real live shops that you can walk in to can rarely compete with the prices offered by places like Zavvi.
Every now and again Zavvi run a Mega Monday event and there are some real bargains to be had. So whether you’re looking for a great deal on something in particular or just fancy adding to your entertainment collection, pop on over and have a look and see if there’s something there for you.
Do you remember when we had to wait for A G E S for movies to go from cinema release to being available to buy? I do, but now it seems as if they’re available almost simultaneously.
I’m sure Sherlock Holmes was only just in the cinema and at Zavvi you can pick it up for just £6.85! (Are you watching the new Sherlock programmes on the BBC on Sunday evening by the way?)
There’s lots more – too much to show you in only a few words – and don’t forget there’s nothing to pay on UK deliveries.
A very happy Mega Monday to you!

So there I was merrily writing up a deal all about another online entertainment retailer, when an email from Zavvi arrived bragging about ‘New Stuff’ and ‘Cheaper Prices’. Cheaper prices! Now that’s what I like to hear! So I had to stop and take a look.
I remember when CDs cost a fortune, when DVDs cost even more and MP3s weren’t even part of our vocabulary! Well times have changed and prices for all these things are almost at rock bottom, especially if you buy them from Zavvi.
The other day my daughter asked me if I’d seen any of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies. I’m not sure she was glad she asked in the end because what followed was a very animated explanation which kicked off with, “YEAH! They were DEAD scary! People were too scared to shut their eyes and go to sleep! It was MAD!”
And they were/ARE scary! Zavvi have the Nightmare on Elm Street DVD box set with all seven movies on offer for £9.95, reduced from £39.29, and on the one hand I’m very tempted but on the other…I’ve got used to sleeping at night again! Not only that, if the Teenagers watched them and said they weren’t as scary as I’d said, I’d be a bit miffed!
I bought Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ a couple of months ago for £13 and thought I’d bagged a bargain, Zavvi have it for £4.94. Note to self – ALWAYS check Zavvi first!
There are LOTS of bargains to be had at Zavvi and even the releases which are ‘Coming SOON!’ (you have to say that in the style of the movie voice-over guy) are nicely priced.
There’s no delivery to pay on orders within the UK either. HURRAH!

This is an awesome title for kids with Peppa Pig and her relatives getting up to all sorts of mischief, fun and mayhem. Fans of Peppa Pig will love this little DVD and it makes either a perfect pressie or stocking filler for Christmas, especially at only £4.95 at Zavvi.
I know you’re probably frowning at me whenever I mention stocking fillers, but the speed at which 2010 is zooming by means that Christmas is going to hit us before we know it. Start stocking up on those cute and cheap pressies now, and your wallet won’t be groaning at you come the festive season.
This DVD includes ten entertaining episodes of the smash hit TV show including the brand new and unseen episode – Princess Peppa and Sir George the Brave. My tot hasn’t quite seen the magic of Peppa, she’s not a fan, and I find the episodes too short but that hasn’t stopped the world from loving her to bits.
So, here you go fans, a cheap and cheerful DVD of Peppa Pig fun.

“PEEP PEEP! It’s time to go!” says Thomas.
I haven’t posted any Thomas the Tank Engine deal for quite a while (well it feels like it anyway) and whilst there are numerous Thomas wall clocks up for grabs on the market, this one is probably my favourite.
There’s not a HUGE amount I can tell you about it – I mean, it’s a clock! It’s round and it has two hands, a big one and a small one, and they point to any one or two of the 12 numbers on the face!
Facitiousness aside, this Thomas the Tank Engine wall clock features Thomas on the front (obviously) and his eyes ROTATE!
Maybe I’m easily pleased but with my vast experience of watching Thomas the Tank Engine on VHS and DVD over the years, his rolling of eyes when he gets all excited is one of his endearing character traits.
If you’ve got a little Thomas fan then this rotating eyes wall clock will help them learn to tell the time and could just see them rolling their OWN eyes in excitement, just like Thomas.
Zavvi have reduced the price of this cute little clock from £14.99 down to £9.95 and all orders within the UK are freee.
PEEP PEEP!

I’ve got rather used to starting my Sundays off with a few episode of Peppa Pig
My youngest is a big Peppa fan and in the pre-boxset days it took a good while to explain that he’d have to wait for the times when she was on the TV and that he wouldn’t be able to watch his favourite episode again, unless it was the one which happened to be on.
OHHHH the tears!
So hurrah for kids DVD boxsets I say, especially when they’re a reasonable price which this Peppa Pig collection of volumes 1 – 3 is – Zavvi have ignored the £19.79 rrp and are selling it for just £6.45 instead.
Peppa is such an endearing character but I have to confess that George is my favourite and Daddy Pig’s voice is so smooth it’s like warm melted dark chocolate. I’m also very glad to say that my youngest’s favourite episode of all time ‘Muddy Puddles’ is the very first one on disc one – he’s a very happy four year old.
There’s no delivery to pay with Zavvi, there are plenty of these in stock and they usually ship orders within 24 hours. Brill!

*sings* OOOO-EEEEE-OOOOOO……EEEEE-OOOOOO…..EEEE-EEEE-OOOOOOO EEEE-OOOO-OOOOO (you can do the du-du-du-dumms bit!)
Mention Dr Who to me and I think of two things – 1) being at my nan’s on a Saturday afternoon, lying on the floor in front of the TV and watching the latest episode with my cousins and 2) the immediate discussion that ensues at PlayPennies HQ as to who is the best AND the best-looking Dr Who (David Tennant is still winning).
They say that, like James Bond, your first Dr Who is your favourite – this would be Tom Baker for me and whilst his voice is great, I’m afraid David Tennant wins my vote for favourite.
This box set has series 1 – 4 on a staggering 23 discs and would make a GREAT Father’s Day present for any Dr Who dad.
Now, the price published on the Zavvi website is £46.85 (reduced from the rrp of £89.99) but there is a sneaky trick you can use to get £5 off and drop this price, here’s how:
1. Go to deal.
2. add to basket
3. click view basket
4. change currency to Euros (click the euro icon in the top right)
5. input voucher code SAVE5
6. switch back to UK currency (click GB flag in top right)
7. the discount of £5 is applied – purchase as normal.
(thanks to andywedge and piemakers for that)
So there you are – a massive 3650 minutes of Dr Who for your viewing enjoyment!
Thanks to davidmaiden18183 over at HUKD for this deal

If you have a PS3 at home then chances are the Dad in your house likes uninterrupted time in front of it. Well, this Father’s Day you can offer him the entire day off and a fab game to boot. Just perfect for World Cup madness, here is the Pro Evolution series for 2010 for only £17.95 at Zavvi.
I don’t know much about football, I’m afraid. I had to get someone to explain to me how the World Cup works for crying out loud. So, I can only say that many men that I know, who love the game and gaming, have said that the Pro Evolution series of football games is one of the best.
The latest game has undergone a major visual overhaul with the famous players even more realistically rendered. It also includes new animation and moves, intuitive zonal defending that challenges players to find new ways to attack, and plenty more.
You can watch a trailer of the game on Zavvi so, if you’re not sure whether or not this is the right Father’s Day present for the Dad in your house, play it loudly and watch his reaction. An avid stare with some drooling likely means a yes.

Fancy something to take Dad on a trip down memory lane? If he was walking and talking in the 80s then chances are this particular five CD boxset will make him misty eyed with delight. Talk about a Father’s Day present with punch. And it costs less than £4 including free delivery.
The CDs include songs like Cruel Summer, Don’t Leave Me This Way, Suspicious Minds, Cry Wolf, Wild Thing, Pink Sunshine, Personal Touch, I Want You Back, Body Work, Let’s All Chant, Funky Cold Mendia, Arthur’s Theme and so much more.
If you’re reading this and humming along to each title then you just know you are the one for whom this box set is destined. Actually, I’m eyeballing this and thinking it would be rather fab to get it for myself. Let’s face it; even if I could find my mixed tapes I wouldn’t have anything to play them on…
Go on, take yourself back to the 80s and leg warmers, green eyeshadow and that hair.
Thanks to andywedge at HUKD!

This is a rather tasty deal for those of you in the mood for some Monday shopping to kill those nasty Monday blues. Zavvi are holding a 24 hour sale on selected products with a grand total of 80% off and free delivery on them all.
Now Zavvi have this sale plastered all over their site and they claim to have tons of books, CDs, clothes, DVDs, electronics, games and sports items included in the sale. However, when I sit and look at the page, none of the items on there seem to have a discount of 80% so tread warily before you buy.
I’m not sure if the discounts aren’t showing because the sale hasn’t started yet, or if it’s because the site is so busy that it isn’t updating for me. Either way, if you are going to take a look at the sale please check the discount amounts listed under each item so you can be sure that you are getting your 80% off.
