Play and Learn 26 Piece Wooden Blocks £3 @ ASDA

ASDA has a great price on a 26 piece wooden block set, which they’re selling for £3. It doesn’t actually seem to be reduced at all, but £3 still seems like a fantastic price for such traditional childhood blocks to me.

I’m quite surprised by these blocks as they strike me as being very similar to what I would have had as a child, although I’d be suspicious of the quality – which is why having a review system on a website, is so useful. People who’ve bought this set are surprised by the price, especially in relation to the quality, and without fail their children have liked it.

The ASDA Play  and Learn A – Z Wooden Blocks are made from 100% ethically sourced wood and according to the website, it comes with FSC approval. Whatever that means, it sure sounds good. The sale of this product also supports the Tommy’s charity.

Each block contains two letters of the alphabet in bright colours, and four pictures carved out of the wood of items beginning with those letters.

All in all, not a bad little gift for a little person.

75 Piece Wooden Block Set £9.99 @ ToysRUs

75 Piece Wooden Block Set £9.99 @ ToysRUs

ToysRUs are selling a lovely set of wooden blocks for £9.99 instead of £14.99, which I think was a pretty good price to begin with! Delivery is a rather hefty £4.95, and you have to spend £50 for free delivery, but you can also click and collect.

I absolutely love blocks. While most of what we have is LEGO there’s just something so lovely about wooden blocks. I love the feel and the smell of them.  They simply feel wholesome. I love it.

These are bright and beautiful coloured blocks, great for motor skills and visual developments.  They come in lovely red, green, blue, yellow, orange, purple and plain wood.

The blocks come in a handy bucket so when they’re not in use, they can be stored away nicely. There’s also only one review on here, but it’s a glowing one. According to this grandfather who bought it for his grandson, this set allows the child to be very creative and he also feels the  blocks are  indestructible. He even bought a second set for another grandchild.
