Lego 50% Off Marked Price @ Wilkinson

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 24 December, 2011 at 11:00 am

Lego 50% Off Marked Price @ Wilkinson

There’s 50% off the marked price of Lego at Wilkinson at the moment, and I’m pretty certain stocks won’t last very long.

There’s a bargain to be had on some of these items – well, any Lego at 50% off is pretty noteworthy, but still, Lego City at half price is a winner.

You can find Lego City’s Harbour Kit for £31.99 complete with a crane to offload the grain, place it onto the conveyor and load it on the truck or the Police Unit Kit for £19.50. This kit comes with a police motorcycle, a car, three minifigs and a bunch of other accessories.

For the littlies, there are some savings to be had on Duplo too – the Duplo Big Farm Set is reduced to £23.75 and is a whopper of a set, what with the tractor, dairy truck, barn, farm animals, minifigs and a crane-hoist-thing that lifts bales of hay to the loft.

Small items, which I guess these are, would be delivered in three days at £4.95, or can be collected in store for free, four days after they’ve been ordered.

Huggies Pure Wipes £89p @ Wilkinson

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 2 October, 2011 at 4:00 pm

Huggies Pure Wipes £89p @ Wilkinson

This is a fantastic deal, especially for fans of the lovely Huggies Pure wipes that don’t have any funny smells or perfumes. Usually these retail for £2.34 per pack but Wilkinson has marked them down to 89p per pack which is substantially less than half the original price.

These Huggies Pure wipes are theoretically a lot like cotton wool and water and are usually quite expensive on their own. I used to use these all the time and found them to be really gentle on my baby’s bum and they didn’t have a funny chemical smell either.

The only problem with the Huggies Pure wipes is that they tend to clump in the packet. You can have some difficulty getting wipes out and, when you eventually do get hold of them, a bunch come out at the same time which can be a bit wasteful. However this seems to be a side effect of the fact that they are quite free from weird extras which makes it worth it in my view.

Peppa Pig Bubble Mower £8.98 @ Wilkinson

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 16 September, 2011 at 3:00 pm

Peppa Pig Bubble Mower £8.98 @ Wilkinson

Wilkinson has marked the Peppa Pig Bubble Mower down from £17.97 to only £8.98. This is a lovely 50% off the usual price on a cute and fun toy that will go down a charm this Christmas. Yes, sorry, I am all about Christmas gifts now!

The Peppa Pig bubble mower needs you to feed it two 1.5v LR6 batteries (crikey that IS different, isn’t it?) that are not included in the package or the price. It will also need some self assembly to get it ready for the little ones.

The set does, however, include the bubble solution you need to get the bubble mower up and at ‘em, and it is not suitable for children under three years due to small parts and choking hazards. The bubble mower has some Peppa Pig images along the base and is pretty brightly coloured and, I assume, it blows bubbles as it is pushed.

This is a great price for the Peppa Pig bubble mower but I would never have paid £17.97!

Fabulous Toy Sale @ Wilkinson

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 9 September, 2011 at 4:00 pm

Fabulous Toy Sale @ Wilkinson

It’s a good week for toys this week, there are sales all over the place with items that are, honestly just brilliantly priced. This is excellent not only for wallet saving purposes, but also for stocking up for Christmas. I tend to avoid that whole big expense in one month thing and snatch up deals months in advance and this is a good place to start.

I really enjoy Wilkinson actually, they have some lovely stuff that is good value for money. The toy sale includes things like play centres, bikes, sandpits, trampolines, swings, picnic tables and more. They are mostly outdoor toys but it doesn’t matter if they stay unused until it gets warm again, at least you’re not paying full price!

The sale is also excellent for buying gifts for grandparents and partners. There is a lot of other stuff included  in outdoor for adults, health and beauty, furniture and pets. In other words, lots of variety and plenty of opportunity to sort out some nice gifts at low prices.

12 Piece Dinner Set £4.56 @ Wilkinson

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 3 August, 2011 at 4:00 pm

 12 Piece Dinner Set £4.56 @ Wilkinson

This is another ace deal today. They seem to be falling out the sky at the moment! This price of a mere £4.56 for a white porcelain dining set is utterly brilliant and you can collect yours instore for free too.

The set is a simple and budget friendly addition to any home. The plain white design means that it will fit in with most décor and the cost means that if the plates are dropped by little hands (or big clumsy ones early in the morning) there won’t be any tears or heartbreak about the expense.

I love the product description on the site – they say it is perfect for the first week at college. Does this mean that they think students sell the plates by the end of the week, refuse to wash them or break them all within a 7 day period?

The set comes with four dinner plates, side plates and bowls and is both dishwasher and microwave friendly.

Cooksmart Kids Chef Set 7 Piece £2 @ Wilkinson

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 29 May, 2011 at 11:00 am

Cooksmart Kids Chef Set 7 Piece £2 @ WilkinsonThis Cooksmart Kids Chef 7 piece set is in the sale at Wilkinson. It has been marked down from £5 to £2. You can order it online, and delivery is free if you can collect instore. Otherwise delivery costs £4.95.

In the set you get an apron, rolling pin, wooden spoon and a heart, butterfly and girl shaped pasty cutter. Which comes to six pieces by my counting, so I'm not sure what they've missed out. There is something else in the photo, and I'm not sure what it is. Perhaps it folds into a hat? Still at £2, it is still a great bargain.

I wish they'd one that wasn't pink for my son. He absolutely loves cooking, and baking. His favourite activity on a weekend is to make a cake. Although he tends to eat a lot more of the mix than goes in the baking tin sometimes. And he does get carried away wanting to throw all the ingredients in at once.

He does love using the hand mixer though. And our kitchen always looks like a bomb has hit it afterwards, which is really a part of the fun. It is easy enough to clean up.

According to the website, the chef set is suitable for ages 3-7 years.

Chatsworth Grow Me Starter Pack .98p @ Wilkinson

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 14 March, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Chatsworth Grow Me Starter Pack .98p @ Wilkinson

Spring is just around the corner, and it's time to start thinking about the veggie patch – with a little help from Wilkinson and their 98p starter packs.

It's been one of my ambitions for years now to start a veggie garden, but there's always been a reason I couldn't – I worked too much, didn't have a big enough garden, had no garden at all... you know how it goes!

According to Gardening Tips n Ideas, however, you can actually grow a herb garden on your windowsill, so there seems to be little excuse. And according to this Scouting website, the “needs of a family can be met in a tiny garden where 1.25 square meters are available for each person” - so there's really no excuse.

The Grow Me starter pack from Wilkinson comes with three plant pots, compost, seeds and most importantly, instructions.

There are also a few options available, but it seems if you buy online, you get what you get – and you pay an additional £4.95 for postage. If you go in store, you can choose what you wish and store collection is free.

Two Flushable Toddler Training Wipes £1 @ Wilkinson

Two Flushable Toddler Training Wipes £1 @ Wilkinson

Wilkinson are selling Baby Dream Bottom’s Up flushable toddler wipes for £1 for two packs of 60. One pack will set you back 96p, but two will only cost you 4pm more. Insane, and a great bargain. You can collect instore to save on the hefty delivery charges.

The Baby Dream Bottom’s Up toddler wipes have a light and fruity smell and are flushable for easy use. Ideal for catching those little messes as you start to train your tots in the art of using the loo, they are easy to use and peel quickly out of the packet.

These toddler wipes have been dermatologically tested and the lid pops up for easy use. The deal on these wipes is brilliant. You are saving a ton of cash and you can stock up on these wipes for the entire duration of potty training madness.

Wilkinson also have special offers on their baby cottonsoft wipes – two for £1.50 – if you prefer.

75% Off Selected Peppa Pig Items @ Wilkinson

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 20 January, 2011 at 4:00 pm

75% Off Selected Peppa Pig Items @ Wilkinson

Wilkinson have smacked down the price of various Peppa Pig items on their website (not sure about instore) to a whopping 75% off. These are not hugely varied and you’re not exactly spoiled for choice, but they are cheap and desperately cute.

The first item included in the Wilkinson sale is the Peppa Pig Birthday Cake set. I’ve posted a deal about this recently where it was down to £6 but now it is down to £3. Please note that the discounts are applied at the checkout.

Then there are the Peppa Pig Roller Skates that are down to £2.50 from £10. I have double checked the “discount at checkout” thing and these definitely drop waaay down. Fantastic stuff! You can save on delivery by arranging for collection instore too.

Then there is the Peppa Pig Musical Band set that is down to £3 after the discount is sorted out. This set is dead cute with maracas, drums, cymbals and a trombone.

Peppa Pig Birthday Tea Set £6 @ Wilkinson

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 7 January, 2011 at 6:00 pm

Peppa Pig Birthday Tea Set £6 @ Wilkinson

Ooooh, now this is an ace deal from Wilkinson for an adorable Peppa Pig birthday tea set that usually costs around £20. Now it is down to a tasty £6 and you can get free delivery to a local store so you can save on delivery costs too.

If you feel the urge to shave even more money off your purchase, then why not use the code WILK05 while you do your Wilkinson shop and you can get £5 off. However, this particular code is only valid on purchases over £50, so you will have to be on something of a shopathon for it to count.

Moving on to Peppa Pig. The birthday cake set comes with a cute little cake that has been divided into four parts, each part with a little candle. There are three cups and saucers, a teapot, a milk jug and a sugar bowl, plus a little cake knife and some teaspoons.

The Peppa Pig set is dead cute but not ideal for little ones who still stick everything into their mouths, too many small parts here to be safe.

Wilkinson - Up To Half Price Sale Starts Today

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 24 December, 2010 at 12:00 pm

Wilkinson - Up To Half Price Sale Starts TodayWilkinson sale - up to half price off selected items - starts today. On the website, the furniture sale is heavily promoted on the front page, but click through to the other sections to see the sales there. According to the original poster at HUKD, the half price sale instore covers toys, confectionary and decorations. Time to stock up for next Christmas!

The sale in the Garden and Health & Beauty sections is billed as 'our biggest ever sale'. As someone who has a garden desperate for some TLC I was very intersted in this. There are some amazing bargains. The rose pergola, for example, reduced from £150 to £75. I have always wanted a rose pergola! Unfortunately, I've never wanted to do all the work to get the roses growing around it. There's fifty quid off the bike shed - something I think every family garden needs especially if you've got kids who like to get REALLY muddy.

According to the poster on our sister site HUKD, not everything is stickered in store, but the shelf will say everything is half price.

Could be handy if you've still got a few toys to get for the Christmas stocking. Personally I'm avoiding even LOOKING at the toy sale section on the website for fear of finding stuff I've already brought considerably cheaper!

Toy Story Storybook Pillow Set £5.00 @ Wilkinson

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 9 December, 2010 at 7:00 pm

Toy Story Storybook Pillow Set £5.00 @ Wilkinson

The Toy Story buzz continues with this storybook pillow set, 1/3rd of it's original £15.00, it's now only £5.00 at Wilkinson

Forgive me if you all knew about these already, but it's the first time I've ever seen a pillow-storybook. How cool is that?! Obviously I'm rather new to the world of children's accessories...

Annnnnnyway, this 8-page Toy Story 3 pillow is a complete storybook. It comes with a large Buzz Lightyear bookmark, and is 30cm long, making it big enough for a child's pillow. It is 100% polyester.

While you're on the website, have a browse around some of the other Toy Story 3 merchandise they stock as there are some pretty good offers to be had right now, such as 60% off the Toy Story Night Light & Torch Rechargeable, and 20% off the Disney Toy Story Scooter.

Delivery adds a bit to your order, at £4.95, but reserving for instore pickup is free.

This pillow-storybook should make quite a few Toy Story 3 fans very happy indeed!

Toy Story Go Glow Night Light And Torch £7.50 @ Wilkinson

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 24 November, 2010 at 7:00 pm

Toy Story Go Glow Night Light And Torch £7.50 @ Wilkinson

Two in one torch and night light, the Toy Story Go Glow is perfect for your little space ranger. It is £19.99 at Argos, but Wilkinson currently has it on offer at £7.50, almost 63% off.

This great little stocking filler or Christmas gift – or anytime night light problem solver – provides the security of a night light from bedtime until morning.

The base acts as a charger for the removable top section – the night light - so it can be picked up and carried around to provide torchlight. Great for little ones that can walk themselves to the bathroom, but might be a bit worried about doing so in the dark.

The torch then simply clicks back into the base, reactivating the night light which will glow through the night, so long as it's plugged in the mains – although it is also battery operated.

The Go Glow Toy Story night light is suitable for children over 3 years.

Delivery costs £4.95 and takes around 3 days. In store pick up is, of course, free.

Belling Fold Away Kitchen £20 @ Wilkinson

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 19 November, 2010 at 8:00 am

Belling Fold Away Kitchen £20 @ WilkinsonGot a little one who likes playing in kitchens? I know my son does, and so do most of his little friends. However, they're pretty big things and I'm not sure I'd want one taking up a lot of space. The advantage of this one is that it folds away. And is only £20 at Wilkinson

Click here to get cooking at Wilkinson

I do like the colour scheme of this kitchen. It isn't pink so won't be off putting if you want to buy it for a boy. Or a girl who doesn't like pink. Or parents who are fed up with everything girly being pink! I don't think the picture (shown above) is to scale though! I could be wrong but that kitchen she's standing next to looks awfully large compared to the child and the case she is carrying!

It is a foldaway kitchen though, so I wouldn't expect it to be as sturdy as other types of play kitchen. Two posters at our sister site HUKD have said that the door to the oven doesn't close properly on their kitchens. So it might be worth looking into what people are saying about this kitchen before buying. Still at £20 it is a fairly good bargain.

Here's the description on the website: "Belling fold away kitchen set, with fun sound effects and over 20 accessories." It requires three AA/LR6 batteries. Not suitable for children under 3 years as contains small parts.

Toy Story 3 Storybook Pillow £7.50 @ Wilkinson

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 10 November, 2010 at 6:00 pm

Toy Story 3 Storybook Pillow £7.50 @ Wilkinson

Oooh, we are huge Toy Story fans in this house. When I bought my daughter Buzz Lightyear I think it was more for me than it was for her. I am definitely going to get her this Toy Story 3 storybook pillow for our loooong Christmas flight in December. Down to only £7.50, it’s a great price.

So…I hear you asking me what exactly a Toy Story 3 pillow is? Well, the answer is that I don’t know either. Apparently it is a book and a pillow in one. Yes, you read that correctly. This is why I want to buy one because this idea fascinates me.

Questions like – won’t it be very uncomfortable, and ouch, and how – all pop into my head. Basically you can read and play with Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story with a plus and comfy pillow that is a book. Buzz is the bookmark. Hahahaha.

Music World Stand Keyboard £18 @ Wilkinson

Music World Stand Keyboard £18 @ Wilkinson

This is a fantastic deal! Down from £40 to only £18 this music world stand keyboard is an utter bargain from Wilkinson, and a superb Christmas pressie too. I have wanted one of these for my daughter for ages and can’t believe how cheap this is.

ELC have a similar range of musical keyboards and microphone sets that retail for £40 and my daughter races to them everytime we go to an ELC store. They really are pretty awesome. I am sure this isn’t the same brand, but it looks to have all the same bits and pieces!

The set is a keyboard, stand and microphone and you can sing along with the microphone as you play. There are eight instrument sounds, eight rhythms and you can record your singing to play back later. The set does need batteries – those odd 1.5v R6 batteries – and they are not included.

It is suitable for children over the age of three and is definitely going into my Christmas present cupboard right now!

Johnson’s Baby Shampoo And Bath 500ml 97p @ Wilkinson

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 6 September, 2010 at 12:00 pm

Johnson’s Baby Shampoo And Bath 500ml 97p @ WilkinsonI love Johnson’s products mainly because the smell of the shampoo takes me back to my childhood and it makes me feel all scrummy and loved. So, like many other people, I’ve stuck with using it on my kids. There are quite a few different Johnson’s products on sale at Wilkinson with prices starting from 97p.

The Johnson’s Baby Bath is down from £2.37 to 97p for 500ml – that’s a nice big fat bottle of bubbly fun which will last you a while.  You can also get Baby Skincare Wipes from Johnson’s for 97p a pack – down from £2.34.

Overall, you can nab some great deals on Johnson’s products at Wilkinson at the moment, with very few items going above £2. This is a good time to stock up on baby essentials if you’re expecting a new arrival, or if you’re aiming for Johnson’s Baby Shampoo And Bath 500ml 97p @ Wilkinsonthe Super Parent prize.

If you want these delivered to your door you’re looking at a rather hefty delivery charge of £4.95 so it’s probably best to arrange for collection in store.

Brilliant Back To School Savings @ Wilkinson

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 11 August, 2010 at 11:00 am

Brilliant Back To School Savings @ Wilkinson

Wilkinson has a huge range of stationery to keep kids equipped and prepared throughout the school term. Their back to school savings are pretty impressive with sets starting from 87p and loads of matching options to make kids happy.

Some of the items in store include the butterfly wiro notebook for £1.97, an A4 Cars ringbinder for £1.25, a nature wiro notebook for £1.97, a nature stationery set for 87p, and a butterfly pencil box for only 86p.

With these prices you won’t be too grumpy when they lose their notebooks and pencil cases, or drop them down hills, or whatever it is kids seem to do with these things. I know I gave my parents grey hairs thanks to my dottiness!

You can find quite a few items on their site that will supplement your back to school shopping including backpacks and crayons but they aren’t listed under a specific back to school section. You may find that you’ll spend some time hiking about the site trying to uncover the different deals.

Still, it’s worth the hunt because I got some nifty last minute pieces that will really come in handy for my little one (and me).

Koo-Di Seat Harness @ Wilkinsons

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 15 May, 2010 at 10:00 am

Koo-Di Seat Harness @ WilkinsonsI loved the seat harness I got for my son. In fact, I still have it, even though at five years old he’s hardly going to need one! I can’t over state really just how useful it was to have one, especially when travelling. A reader at HUKD, elle2901, has seen a Koo-Di Seat Harness on half price sale at Wilkinsons, and received a further surprise when she got to the check out and found it reduced by 75%. In all, she paid just £1.99 for one of these. I am gutted – mine was a cloth one like the Koo-Di but a different brand, and I paid nearly £15!

Koo-Di Seat Harness @ WilkinsonsI used my seat harness on a variety of dining chairs, and on one occasion a patio chair made of ornate metal work. Baby clips in to the harness, and is held fairly securely. My son nearly died of happiness when he realised that he was sitting in a big chair like everyone else. It was hard to get him to sit in a high chair again. The harness does get covered in food if you’re using it to feed your child. And this can be a problem if you’re about to hit the road or jump on an airplane. I found I ended up washing it in the sink every day, but this was quite easy to do. Plus for quick fixes, a wipe down does do the trick even if it isn’t as hygienic as you’d like. It gets the excess off, so you can clean it properly later.

Grace Cot Bed Dark Wood £130 @ Wilkinson

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 7 March, 2010 at 2:00 pm

Grace Cot Bed Dark Wood £130 @ WilkinsonIf you’re about to build your nursery then you’re probably wondering what kind of bed you need to get for your child. Personally I’m in favour of the cot bed as this will last for years and years and will end up saving you money. This deal from Wilkinson for a cot bed at £130 including a mattress is really good value for money.

The cot bed is suitable from birth until they are toddlers and comes in a rich dark wood finish. It includes full panels with horizontal grooves and three different height positions. The two split ends convert into a junior bed when little one gets too big for their cot.

Like most good models, the bed also comes with protective teething rails so baby can munch away to their hearts content. It’s funny because in the old days we all used to just chew on wood and we came out ok (Grace Cot Bed Dark Wood £130 @ Wilkinsonwell, I think we did anyway). One of our old cots has teeth marks all the way down the sides from generations of babies.

The Wilkinson deal also includes a free cot bed mattress. Just add the product to your basket and go through the checkout and it will be automatically deducted from the price. Just make sure you choose the right one or you’ll end up paying!
