Space Cadet Trike With Parent Handle £39.99 @ Toys R Us

Space Cadet Trike With Parent Handle £39.99 @ Toys R UsThis seems like a good deal for a trike of this quality. The Space Cadet Trike with parent handle has been reduced by 50% at Toys R Us. Down from £79.99 to £39.99.

Now I never actually used one of these. Son never liked them, and then when he was two we went straight on to a pedaless bike, which I could sling across the back of the pushchair when we went out.

However I know from other mums that most kids really love these trikes. And parents like them too, as the handle means you can push them around when necessary without having to break your back.

The Space Cadet Trike has a sturdy steel frame, rear tipper, adjustable seat, handlebar safety pad, front mudguard.

It doesn't say on the website but I'm going to assume that the parent handle unscrews and detaches, as that's the case with all the other trikes I've come across. You might want to check on this though.

The parent handle also gives you extra confidence that your child will not pedal away without you! The Space Cadet Trike is suitable for children up to 3 years of age.

Smart Trike Recliner Review

by Luschka van Onselen in Reviews on 27 June, 2011 at 5:00 pm

Smart Trike Recliner ReviewWe never got on very well with a pushchair as my daughter hated being strapped in. We used a sling until she was over a year old – and sometimes still do, but then we got ourselves a Smart Trike Recliner and everything pretty much changed.

The Smart Trike Recliner is the only stroller certified push chair in the world, and is suitable for use from six months, making it an ideal next step from a sling if you don’t want to invest a small fortune in a pram.

I did initially find the Smart Trike Recliner a little tough to assemble and all in it took about 40 minutes, although partly because my daughter was insistent on sitting on the chair before I could even set it all up.

This trike definitely takes care of all the ages it’s meant for. There are three different foot rest settings for as your child grows, and along with the safety harness, there’s also a bar to keep little ones secure.

The Smart Trike Recliner comes with a sun visor, which we don’t use as I find it intrusive in my view of my daughter, and hers of me, which unsettles her – but that could just be us.  The only other negative on the Smart Trike Recliner is that the basket comes off really easily, so it’s not all that useful for storage of shopping or anything.

On the other hand, there’s a bag attached to the adjustable parent handle which is the ideal size for a nappy or two, some wipes, a phone and a purse, so you don’t have to carry a handbag along if you’re just going for a walk.

My favourite thing – from a ‘mum perspective’ - is that the cup holder it comes with is the perfect size for a large takeaway coffee cup! That was me sold already.

Steering is really easy and can be done one handed, although it is easier with two, and the reclining seat means my little girl can shut her eyes and doze off when she feels the need without me having to rush home.

The Smart Trike Recliner is really light and fits easily on the backseat of the car, much more so than the pram we never got on with and it is definitely our favourite mode of wheeled child transport to date.

It comes in a variety of colours, and we chose the denim for its unisex appeal.

Down from £89.99, this unisex tricycle is now just £44.77 with free delivery at Smart Trike Plus £44.77 @ AmazonAmazon.

The best thing about this trike has to be the fact that it's suitable for kids aged from 10 months to 3 years, thanks to its 3-in-1 design. It can basically be adjusted to grow with your child, starting out as a great alternative to a pushchair and ending up as your kid's first bike.

There are also lots of safety features built in - you can strap a little one into the back support seat with safety bars to keep them in the driving seat, while the overhead canopy keeps the sun off them.
The parent handle steers the front wheel, so you're still in charge (but don't tell baby that) and you can remove the handle altogether when it's no longer needed.
As Baby gets older and more confident you can remove the high-backed seat and the overhead canopy too. This 3-in-1 trike also features footrests which can be folded up. (These are ideal for your youngster to place their feet on while you are pushing them along--otherwise simply fold them away for your child to take control of the non slip pedals.)

There's even a handy bucket on the back -- as everyone know that all intrepid explorers need to pack a snack.
All in all it's a great buy for encouraging outdoor play and exercise. We reckon it seems like a wheely good deal. (Sorry.)
