This Sit ‘n’ Draw Creativity Desk is a self-contained art station, perfect for little artists who like to get on with it without too much adult interference.

The workstation has rounded corners for ‘added safety’ so there shouldn’t be too much danger of anyone getting caught on the edges, and since the desk doesn’t detach from the chair, you’re not likely to trip over it in the night.

There are pre-designed grooves and slots in the desk, such a s a space for crayons and pens in use, two 9cm pen pots and another groove for other storage – in the case of the picture, it contains paints.

While this set comes with the pen pots, it doesn’t come with any other accessories.

I just love the idea of a place for all the crafty stuff, and would be conned into at least hoping that they wouldn’t end up all over the house.

The recommended age for the Sizzlin’ Cool Meadow Cottage (is it just me who thinks the name is a contradiction in terms?) is two years and up and you will have to spend another 1p to get free delivery which I think is extremely annoying.

This brightly coloured playhouse has a working front door that’s a half split and windows on either side. There is nothing inside the house so you’d have to furnish it yourself, and it does need self assembly when it is delivered flat placked.

The play house is dominant yellow in colour with green and red trim and a red roof, and it looks fairly robust if extremely plasticky. A good save off the original price though.

Toys R Us has reduced a bunch of Toy Story figures to half price so they now only cost £4.99 instead of their usual £9.99. This is not half bad as a saving, especially if you nab several for presents or rewards.

The toys included in the half price Toy Story 3 sale are 15cm in size and look like they are just made from plastic really. The Buzz Lightyear toy is fully articulated but I don’t think he makes any noises or has any special effects.

The same can be said for Sparks, Twitch, Jessie, Mr Pricklepants, Woody and more. Quite a few of these toys are already sold out so you may need to hurry on over if you fancy grabbing the ones that are still in stock.

It is also worth looking through all the pages here, as there are other Toy Story 3 toys on sale for half price that do have funky actions and features – some of these are the same price as these toys that have none!

There are three LEGO games currently on half price offer at Toys R Us. Unfortunately all but Sunblock are out of stock for home delivery, but since that’s £4.95 you’d be better off using the click and collect facility and picking up from your local store instead.

Banana Balance (£3.99) comes with one buildable Lego Dice, 48 Lego pieces, one rule booklet, and one building instruction booklet and is a game for 2 – 4 players over 6 years of age. The aim of this game is to “get the monkey to help you collect the most fruit, but don’t let the tree tip over.”

Sunblock is reduced to £3.99 and comes with the buildable Dice, 80 Lego pieces a rule booklet and and instruction booklet  Game time is apparently 5 – 15 minutes, with the objective being to clear the playing board.

Frog Rush is £4.99, comes with the Dice, 107 Lego pieces and the same booklets, and game time is approximately 10 – 20 minutes. According to the description, “All of the frogs are trying to get across at the same time, hopping and jumping over each other in a crazy race towards home. Beat the others across the water, but beware of the hungry stork flying overhead!”

There’s an online only offer at Toys R Us at the moment for 12” Foam Alphabet and Number Playmat for £12.49 instead of £24.99. Delivery is £4.95, bringing it to a total of £17.44.

These actually look like a really good deal to me. 12” foam letters A- Z as well as numbers 0-9 with edging to make a perfect square, there are enough blocks here to provide pretty good ground cover and the nineteen reviewers have given it a five star rating, with many of them commenting on how much of the floor surface it covers.

The colours are bright and cheerful, and reviewers have compared it favourably and not in comparison to ELC mats – I guess it depends on your taste. I also remember seeing a blog post where the person had painted the reverse of the mat to match the colourscheme of her living room, without losing the softness of the floor. Genius, really.

Reviewers also say that the mats have no smell, which is great, in my view, and that the letters come out quite easily – which might be why it’s not suitable for babies under 24 months, but honesetly I agree with the lady who can’t see why!  You could even put a material playmat over it for a baby to provide extra warmth and padding.

There's a buy one get one free (BOGOF) offer on all LeapFrog software at Toys R Us at the moment. Have a look if you've got any LeapFrog devices. For example, this would be a saving of £19.99 if you have a Leapster.

Many of the software cartridges were out of stock for home delivery when I checked, although you could still get them using the Click and Collect option. That's only useful if you're able to get to a store though.

However, there were programs like Ben 10 for the Tag Reader and Dora the Explorer still available for delivery as well as collection. These titles cost £12.97 each so that's a good saving.

Despite the fact that so much pink in one spot makes my heart race a little faster – it seems having a little girl has done nothing for my apparent pink version of chromatophobia (the fear of colours) – this does look like a  pretty good deal. Crititcisms of this set from purchasers include that it is a bit flimsy and not really suitable from the advertised 18 months old, although not everyone agrees with that.

The Toys R Us price on the Little Tikes 7ft trampoline is actually pretty good compared to some of the other stores, with Tesco selling it at around £100. The price of 79.99 includes the trampoline and the enclosure and it looks absolutely brilliant.
