Toy Story 3

Blu-ray Toy Story 1, 2 And 3 £17.99 @ Base

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 3 March, 2012 at 12:00 pm

Blu-ray Toy Story 1, 2 And 3 £17.99 @ BaseAre you going to upgrade your DVD collection to Blu-ray formats?  If you are, and the Toy Story movies are part of your DVD library, then you will definitely want to take look at this deal.

You can pick up Toy Story 1, 2 and 3 on Blu -ray DVD for just £17.99, a most excellent price I'm sure you'll agree.

I have a strange relationship with Toy Story - I loved the first one, it was released when my almost 18-year-old son was very little and we used to watch it 'together' in the dead of night and early hours of many mornings; it brings back fond memories (fond, now he sleeps for Queen and country!).

I don't think I've seen all of Toy Story 2 - if that's the one with Tour Guide Barbie, then I haven't - and I can categorically state that I haven't seen Toy Story 3; this became very apparent when I said Lotso Huggin' Bear looked lovely, friendly and cuddly, only to be told by Lynley that he was in fact very mean!

All UK deliveries are free with Base, so £17.99 is all you're going to pay for Toy Story 1, 2 and 3 on Blu-ray DVD - just make sure you have a compatible Blu-ray DVD player, they don't work in normal DVD players!

Toy Story 3 Buzz Operation £7.99 @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 23 July, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Toy Story 3 Buzz Operation £7.99 @ Amazon

This Toy Story edition of the classic game of Operation is £7.99 at Amazon, a 50% discount on the original £15.99

I remember regularly visiting a kid in hospital when I was a child myself, and we always played Operation. I don’t know why, but it was his favourite game, so there you go – we played Operation every time we visited. I didn’t know they did a Toy Story version, but this one looks quite fun.

You  get to fix Buzz Lightyear’s body parts, but if you tap the sides, Buzz Lightyear will have an asteroid attack and you’ll hear his laser sounds.

The set includes a storage drawer too store all of Buzz’s parts.  Also included are tweezers, 24 cards, 12 plastic anatomy parts, play money and a gameboard with Buzz the Patient.

Yip, that sounds different to the game we played at the hospital too – in this version, the cards have tasks on them, which tells you what piece to extract. If you do the extraction correction, you win the play money. Some of the reviewers think its even better than the original game, but others say it’s too hard for a child.

Toy Story 3: Limited Edition Collection Woody Doll £24.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 16 July, 2011 at 1:00 pm

Toy Story 3: Limited Edition Collection Woody Doll £24.99 @ ArgosArgos have taken £15 off the price of this Toy Story 3 Limited Edition Collection Woody doll - he's £24.99 now instead of £39.99.

I'm not a HUGE Toy Story fan, I must confess.

I really enjoyed the first movie, wasn't overly impressed by the second one and I really couldn't be bothered to go and see the third one - I just don't care about Andy and his toys anymore.

Woody wasn't a favourite of mine either and neither was Buzz, if I had to name a favourite then it would have to be either Ham, Rex, Slinky Dog or Mr Potato Head.

BUT for all those Woody fans this limited edition collection Woody doll is, probably, going to be a must.

This interactive Woody the cowboy toy will play with you your child as though he were really alive; pull his string and he'll say over fifty phrases from the film (well that's enough to make me want to run for the hills!).

He has a soft ragdoll body, needs 2 AAA batteries (which are included) and he's suitable for young Woody wannabees aged four and over.

Fisher Price Toy Story 3 Chatter Phone £9.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 13 July, 2011 at 9:00 am

Fisher Price Toy Story 3 Chatter Phone £9.99 @ AmazonAmazon are selling this Fisher Price Toy Story 3 Chatter Phone for just £9.99, instead of £22.99.

Wow seeing this Fisher Price Chatter Phone took me back a fair few years!

I remember there being one in the playhouse that we had in my infant school classroom (and that really IS going back a bit); everyone loved being the member of the 'household' in charge of answering the phone.

This Chatter Phone can "ring" & say "psst" to attract the caller to answer the phone, and your child can use the spinning rotary dial to call their favorite Toy Story 3 character - there are 4 to choose from. Or they can call Woody or Buzz for a chat.

If they dial Chatter Telephone they'll hear about how to "get by the monkey" & out of the day care - this all means nothing to me as I've not seen Toy Story 3, but I'm assuming it all makes perfect sense if you have.

When your child pushes Talking Chatter Telephone along, he makes squeaking sounds and his eyes move up and down - now that's more like it, I remember that bit from the Chatter Phone of my youth.

This isn't an Amazon Deal of the Week, so this Fisher Price Toy Story 3 Chatter Phone's price may go up at any given moment (just like the cost of most phones these days then!), depending on Amazon's whim.

Toy Story 3: Jessie Story Book Pillow And Soft Toy £7.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 4 July, 2011 at 11:00 am

Toy Story 3: Jessie Story Book Pillow And Soft Toy £7.99 @ ArgosCalling all Toy Story 3 Jessie fans!  Argos are selling this Jessie story book pillow and Jessie soft toy for less than half price - she's up for grabs for £7.99 instead of £17.99.

I remember when Jessie first came on the scene - I didn't like her and poor Bo Peep was more than a little jealous.

I never managed to warm to Jessie; admittedly, as she's only an animated character, I didn't really put much effort into getting to like her, but she's irritating, bossy and just...not for me.

However, I know lots of little ones who ADORE Jessie and this Jessie story book pillow and soft toy would, I'm sure, make them happy little cowgirls, and boys, indeed.

I've not come across story book pillows before, but they're rather a good idea if you've got a little one (three years or over for this Jessie story book pillow) who's become a little reluctant to go to bed.

It has 10 soft colourful pages to look at, read and turn and comes with a soft Jessie toy to share the stories with too.

The Toy Story 3 Jessie story book pillow is currently available for home delivery - which will cost you £5.95 - or you can reserve and collect it from your nearest Argos, that has it in stock, for freeeee; YEEE-HAAAA!

Toy Story 3 Backpack Filled With Stationery £6 @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 29 June, 2011 at 12:00 pm

Toy Story 3 Backpack Filled With Stationery £6 @ TescoMention the word 'stationery' to me and I'm almost already sold on whatever it is - this Toy Story 3 backpack, filled with stationery, is no exception and Tesco are selling it for just £6 .

My youngest has a bit of a thing for backpacks so this would tick the boxes for him; I love stationery so it totally does it for me, although I don't think with all the fun bits and pieces this Toy Story 3 backpack with stationery contains, I'd actually be allowed to get my hands on any of it.

It includes a backpack (nothing like stating the obvious, I know), a sketch pad, scribble pad and a pencil case containing a pen, pencil, ruler, eraser and a sharpener.

I don't know what it's like in your house but sharpeners are like gold dust in mine so any set that includes one is worth of a gold star as far as I'm concerned.

The Toy Story 3 backpack and stationery set also comes boxed so it'll make a lovely, and inexpensive, gift for any Toy Story fan that has a birthday coming up.  Or, dare I mention it, a present to be stashed away for that festive event that happens at the end of the year.

Having this delivered for £5.95 makes the backpack a bit pricey so, if you can, arrange to collect it from your local Tesco for free.

Toy Story 3 Talking Jessie Doll £15.97 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 28 June, 2011 at 9:00 am

Toy Story 3 Talking Jessie Doll £15.97 @ AmazonThis Toy Story 3 Talking Jessie doll gives me nightmares; I'll tell you why in a minute but first I must tell you that she's up for grabs, at Amazon, for £15.97 instead of £33.99.

So, Tamsin's daughter is madly in love with Jessie; she is her favourite Toy Story character and was THE thing she wanted for Christmas last year.

Could Tamsin lay her hands on a talking Jessie?  Not a chance!

To add to the drama of the story Tam' and family were jetting off to South Africa at the beginning of December and time rapidly began to run out. We were all charged with hunting down Jessie; I stopped at every single Argos I passed and Lynley stalked the staff at Hamleys in London - Amazon were no good as their talking Jessie stock sold out within minutes.

Eventually a talking Jessie was found on Amazon and delivered to me. I was also going to South Africa over Christmas and New Year and would be able to hand over Jessie to Tamsin.

I carried her in my hand luggage and tried to banish visions of customs seizing her for drug testing and ripping her apart; in fact, I told Tamsin this is what had happened when I spoke to her after I landed - it was too good a wind-up to resist!

So that particular talking Jessie story had a happy ending, if you have a Jessie fan who wasn't quite so lucky over Christmas and still doesn't have the doll they desperately wanted then grab one now; they NEVER stay in stock for long, so don't dawdle.

Talking Jessie is 12″ tall and has a pull-ring in her back to make her talk.

She says various phrases from the film (it would be a bit random if she didn’t), she has soft ragdoll arms, legs and body along with a soft plastic hat, boots and belt.

Her shirt buttons and belt buckle are made from hard plastic and she’s suitable for little Toy Story fans aged three years or over, and although I think Toy Story Talking Jessie looks somewhat manic and terrifying and she gives me nightmares, I'm sure your kids will love her.

Toy Story 3: 3 In A Box Puzzle £3.49 @ Play.com

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 26 March, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Toy Story 3: 3 In A Box Puzzle £3.49 @ Play.com
Play.com are selling the Toy Story 3: 3 in a box 49 piece jigsaw puzzle for £3.49, with free delivery. The RRP is usually £4.00, so it's a 30% saving – or £1.50 in cold hard cash terms.

The three puzzles, suitable for ages 5 and over feature characters from the movie. Each puzzle is cut into 49 pieces and the reverse of each has different patterns so they can be readily sorted out before assembly.

The first puzzle has Jessie, Woody, Lotso, (who, honestly, was a very surprising character. I still don't get how he could be so mean with a name like that!) Slinky, Bullseye and Mr. Potato Head doing an excited looking little jig.

The second features Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and both Potato Heads, while the third has the boys, or rather, Buzz, Woody, Hamm and Rex and a few army men posing for their viewers.

If puzzles are, as Play claims, an “excellent way to encourage your child's observation, imagination and communication skills”, then this is a brilliantly priced way of doing so!

Puzzleball Toy Story 3 Spaceship £5.50 @ The Entertainer

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 24 March, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Puzzleball Toy Story 3 Spaceship £5.50 @ The Entertainer

The Entertainer has a Toy Story 3 Puzzleball on offer for £5.50, which is exactly half price.

It seems Ravensburger is definitely going after the younger generation as it brings out movie-themed pieces like this 3D puzzleball. The Toy Story 3 Puzzleball Spaceship is made up out of 40 shaped plastic puzzle pieces that fit together to create a 3D spaceship.

Buzz Lightyear is at the controls, and one of those weird little “you saved our lives” aliens is a crew member smiling at you with a rather eerie smile.

For ease of use, the pieces are numbered on the reverse side, making it easier for little ones to assemble the ship. A great feature – since the space ship is round – is that the puzzle comes with a display stand to show off the finished product.

Suitable for ages 8 and up, the spaceship is 9cm in diameter. It is also available for home deliver, which takes around 2 days and will cost an additional £3.95, or free for click and collect, but that needs three days notice.

Toy Story Talking Jessie £15.97 @ Amazon

Toy Story Talking Jessie £15.97 @ AmazonAmazon are selling this Toy Story Talking Jessie for just over half-price£15.97 instead of £33.99

I've not seen Toy Story 3, which became VERY apparent last week when I said that Lotso-Huggin-Bear looked cute and cuddly and perhaps liked to give lots of hugs *sigh*

I do, however, know that Jessie is incredibly popular. I know this because I stopped at almost every Arogs in the county over Christmas, on the hunt for  Toy Story Talking Jessie doll for my friend's daughter.

She'd asked Santa for one you see and couldn't find one before she went overseas.

It so happened we were going to be in the same far-flung place for Christmas and I ended up carrying a Toy Story Talking Jessie through customs in my hand luggage; I daren't put her in my suitcase in case that ended up in Outer Mongolia...we were't going there.

This Toy Story Talking Jessie is 12" tall and has a pull-ring in her back to make her talk.

She says various phrases from the film (it would be a bit random if she didn't), she has soft ragdoll arms, legs and body along with a soft plastic hat, boots and belt.

Her shirt buttons and belt buckle are made from hard plastic and she's suitable for little Toy Story fans aged three years or over, and although I think Toy Story Talking Jessie looks somewhat manic and terrifying, I'm sure kids will love her.

Toy Story 3 Ultimate Buzz Lightyear £64.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 14 February, 2011 at 10:00 am

Toy Story 3 Ultimate Buzz Lightyear £64.99 @ Argos*ATTENTION* Argos are selling this Toy Story 3 Ultimate Buzz Lightyear for LESS THAN HALF PRICE - £64.99 instead of bank balance busting £149.99

This Toy Story 3 Ultimate Buzz Lightyear is a must for any Toy Story fan - he's a walking, talking, animated Buzz Lightyear robot.

Out of all the Toy Story characters I must confes that Buzz Lightyear is one of my least favourites, there's something about him that just irritates me, although not as much as Jessie - she REALLY gets up my nose.

Ultimate Buzz Lightyear is suitable for little space cadets aged eight years and over and he EATS batteries - 11 AAs and 3 AAAs in fact. Seriously, get a decent rechargeable battery set otherwise you'll be battery bankrupt within three months.

On the plus side Ultimate Buzz Year sounds pretty cool. He says over 100 different phrases, you can pose his arms, legs and head and he'll record and play back those movements.

He uses infra-red wireless technology and has all sorts of flashing lights and other general robot 'things' going on.

Ultimate Buzz Lightyear isn't available for home delivery BUT I've checked stock levels with www.icheckstock.co.uk at various postcodes covering the country, and it looks as though he's currently available in most places.

I'd grab one whilst you can.

Ravensburger Toy Story 3 Giant Floor Jigsaw Puzzle £3.99 @ Play.com

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 9 February, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Ravensburger Toy Story 3 Giant Floor Jigsaw Puzzle £3.99 @ Play.com

This lovely Ravensburger Toy Story 3 Giant Floor Jigsaw Puzzle is down to £3.99 from £8.99, a lovely £5.00 saving.

I love puzzles, and it's one of the best things about cold and rainy days. I have lovely memories of my family sitting together building puzzles as the rain pounds the window panes. You can join Woody, Buzz, Jessie and all their friends on this bright and colourful Toy Story 3 giant floor puzzle.

It is made from thick and strong recycled board and the puzzle is cut into 60 pieces. The finished puzzle is around 70 x 50 cm, which is large for a puzzle but not so giant that it will take up all of the floor space.

According to a reviewer on the Play.com site, this is a great puzzle for young kids. “The picture is a lot of fun and the pieces are nice and big making the puzzle fairly easy to complete.

Toy Story 3 Puzzles - 4 In A Box - £2.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 29 December, 2010 at 8:00 am

Toy Story 3 Puzzles - 4 In A Box - £2.99 @ AmazonAmazon have a rather nice little deal on this 4 in a box Toy Story 3 puzzles.

If you are a regular PlayPennies reader then you’ll know that I’m a BIG fan of jigsaw puzzles, they are fabulous.

I sat and did one with my youngest the other day and it was just lovely.

Whenever I tried to put a piece in the wrong place he’d say, “No mum *sigh*, it doesn’t go THERE! That piece goes HERE!” it was just too funny, and amazingly satisfying to think back to how things were when he first started doing puzzles – you know, trying to force shapes into places they have no business being!

There are four Toy Story 3 Puzzles in this box and each one measures 19cm x 14cm.

Each one has a different number of pieces - 12, 16, 20 and 24 - so your child can move on to the harder ones when the fewer piece ones become too easy.

These Toy Story 3 puzzles will help to develop skills such as pattern recognition, memory, imagination, logic and  fine motor skills. And, let’s not forget, they’re FUN too!

The rrp for these Toy Story 3 puzzles is £5.99 but Amazon are currently letting them go for £2.99; a lovely little post-Christmas bargain.

Disney Princess, Cars And Toy Story 3 Magnetic Drawing Boards £7.50 @ The Toy Shop.com

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 24 December, 2010 at 9:00 am

Disney Princess, Cars And Toy Story 3 Magnetic Drawing Boards £7.50 @ The Toy Shop.comIt is that time of the year when if you've been lucky enough to kept some money aside you'll be able to properly stock up the presents drawer for the year to come! These Disney character magnetic drawing boards have been reduced by more than half, from £20 to £7.50, by The Toy Shop.com. There's also a Spongebob one but I ran out of room in the title!

The link above will take you to the Cars magnetic drawing board. Alternatively click on these links for the Disney Princess one, and the Toy Story 3 magnetic drawing board.

I absolutely love these, even as an adult! On the face of it, they're pretty limited in what you can do with them. And yet it is fascinating. Somehow even a scribble is strangely satisfying. You make your pictures, and then they all wipe clean. For a parent it is great that there's no batteries, ink or paper required!

This arts and crafts set (as the website calls it, personally I think it is just a toy) includes a large drawing board, 4 fun shaped stampers, a pen  and an eraser. A built in carry handle makes it easy to take the Magnetic Drawing kit with you wherever you go. It is recommended for ages from 4 upwards.

Toy Story Big Roaring Rex £12.49 @ Argos

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 15 December, 2010 at 4:00 pm

Toy Story Big Roaring Rex £12.49 @ Argos

Rex the Roaring Dinosaur from Toy Story is half price at Argos, selling for £12.49 instead of £24.99.

It seems this Rex is little controversial actually.

Argos says, “The tighter you squeeze Rex the bigger the roar he lets out! Bring the excitement of Toy Story 3 to life with this Rex”. The reviewers seem to think slightly differently though – apparently Rex sounds a little more like a depressed duck than a roaring dino!

For very little ones, that won't matter, as Rex is cuddly and makes a good bed time buddy, but for the parents and some of the older kids, the distinctive lack of roar might make it a no good gift.

If you can live without the roar though, this is a great gift for any Toy Story fan aged 2 years and over, and if you buy it from Argos, you'll also received a free collectors card with any Toy Story 3 item.

There's no home delivery for these, so you'll have to see if they're in stock where you are. Numbers seem rather low in all the postcodes I checked, so act quickly or you might miss out!

Toy Story 3 DVD £7.50/£6.67 And Free Delivery @ Marks and Spencer

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 13 December, 2010 at 6:00 pm

Toy Story 3 DVD £7.50/£6.67 And Free Delivery @ Marks and Spencer

Toy Story 3 is on sale at Marks and Spencer. Originally £22.50, plus £3.50 delivery, it is now available for £10.50. But with a code for free delivery and a possible additional 15% off, it could cost as little as £6.67. Confused? Me too!

Woody and Buzz and friends may well have accepted that Andy has grown up, but really, you don't have to accept £25.00 for a DVD!

With £15.00 off the cost of the Toy Story 3 DVD, it's already a great saving, but for some people at HUKD, myself included there's been an additional 15% off at the checkout for no apparent reason. I've searched and searched to find where the additional 15% has come from, but it seems some people have just had it added to their accounts.

There's also a FREE DELIVERY code which can be added to the discounted DVD and the 15% off, saving an additional £3.50.

  • Promotional Code: Perweb02
  • Discount: Free Delivery
  • Expires: Unknown

The discounts will be shown at checkout.

I'd move quickly on this – I can't imagine it'll be available for very long, and at this price stocks will move quickly too!

Toy Story Storybook Pillow Set £5.00 @ Wilkinson

Toy Story Storybook Pillow Set £5.00 @ Wilkinson

The Toy Story buzz continues with this storybook pillow set, 1/3rd of it's original £15.00, it's now only £5.00 at Wilkinson

Forgive me if you all knew about these already, but it's the first time I've ever seen a pillow-storybook. How cool is that?! Obviously I'm rather new to the world of children's accessories...

Annnnnnyway, this 8-page Toy Story 3 pillow is a complete storybook. It comes with a large Buzz Lightyear bookmark, and is 30cm long, making it big enough for a child's pillow. It is 100% polyester.

While you're on the website, have a browse around some of the other Toy Story 3 merchandise they stock as there are some pretty good offers to be had right now, such as 60% off the Toy Story Night Light & Torch Rechargeable, and 20% off the Disney Toy Story Scooter.

Delivery adds a bit to your order, at £4.95, but reserving for instore pickup is free.

This pillow-storybook should make quite a few Toy Story 3 fans very happy indeed!

Mr and Mrs Potato Head £3.49 @ Argos

Mr and Mrs Potato Head £3.49 @ Argos

Mr and Mrs Potato Head are on offer at £3.49, half their original £6.99 at Argos

Have you ever heard the story about the guy who turned down shares for a Personal Computer company as he figured it would never take off?

Well, that's a bit like me, except I wasn't offered shares. I received an email in the summer saying 'Toy Story 3 is going to be the biggest movie of summer' or something along those lines, and offering review samples of various Toy Story 3 items. I passed on the offer, since I quite liked instalments one and two, but really, three is just overkill. Well, I'm eating those words now. Toy Story 3 is still everywhere.

Mr and Mrs Potato Head are said to encourage creativity, as you can swap and change body parts, facial features and accessories to make all sorts of wacky combinations and expressions!

The box contains a potato body, two arms, nose, pair of shoes, set of teeth, moustache, ears, hat, pair of eyes, pair of glasses and tongue.

A word of caution though – you can specify when reserving whether you want a Mr or Mrs and it seems to be a bit luck of the draw. There's no home delivery on this item though, so you can at least double check you have what you want and ask for an exchange while you're in store.

Toy Story 3 CD Player £29.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 8 December, 2010 at 9:00 am

Toy Story 3 CD Player £29.99 @ ArgosArgos have slashed the price of this Toy Story 3 CD player in half - it should be £59.99 but is now just £29.99

Themed things like this arent my cup of tea; kids are fickle creatures and whilst they might LOVE Toy Story, Ben 10, Barbie or whoever today, there's no guarantee they will LOVE them tomorrow, so it's a standard CD players all the way for me.

However, I'd hate to impose my opinion on youwhen YOU might utterly adore everything themed, so here's the low down on this Toy Story 3 CD Player.

It is shaped like Buzz Lightyear's rocket, has two 1 watt speakers in the wings and lighting effects.

The blurb also says it can be taken anywhere around the house, which means it runs on batteries only - 6 big chunky C ones, which aren't included - and there's no option to plug a mains adapter into it, so have an army of rechargeables at the ready!

The small print at the very bottom of the product page does say this: Current selling price valid until 14/12/2010 so I wouldn't muse for too long on whether to buy a Toy Story 3 CD Player or not. Snooze you lose and all that! (I've no idea why that just popped into my head).

Klip Kitz Buzz Lightyear & Woody £5 @ AmazonToy Story 3 is on just about every kid's Christmas list that I know!
