Peppa Pig Toothbrush With Collectable Peppa Pig Figure £1.99 @ Play.com

Peppa Pig Toothbrush With Collectable Peppa Pig Figure £1.99 @ Play.comThe Peppa Pig Toothbrush with a collectable Peppa Pig Figure is reduced by £1 from £2.99 to £1.99 with free delivery. A toothbrush for £1.99 is a great price anyway, but putting a figurine in it too makes it a winner for most Peppa Pig fans.

So, basically, this is a toothbrush.

And it’s pink.

And that’s about that.

Oh, and it comes with a collectable Peppa Pig figurine. Have I mentioned that before? Oh, I have? Sorry.

Thing is, there’s not much else to say. There are four reviews, and they say pretty much the same, except they do say that it’s made tooth brushing time more fun for the kids, and that’s always a bonus.
The definite winner, however, is the fact that it costs only £1.99.

Rechargeable Toothbrush For Kids £31.99 @ Amazon

Rechargeable Toothbrush For Kids £31.99 @ Amazon

There’s a Philips Sonicare for Kids Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush available at Amazon for £31.99 which is 55% off the (rather astronomical) £71.49 it usually costs.

Okay, I think this is still quite expensive – I bought an electric toothbrush recently at half price for £17.00, so this one at almost twice the price is still a bit hectic, but then at less than half price, if it’s something you’ve been looking out for, it’s a good price.

The Sonicare for Kids electric toothbrush has a timer that starts at one minute and adds a few  seconds each day till it reaches the dentist-recommended two minutes.  It has interchangeable colour panels so kids can customise their toothbrush – and know which is theirs – and ‘fun’ sounds to encourage them to brush the front and back of both upper and lower teeth. According to a reviewer, the ‘fun sounds’ are an electronic  tune to tell the child when to move on to a new part of their teeth, which, he says, really works in helping instil a good brushing routine.

The Sonicare Electric toothbrush has loads of reviews on Amazon, some varying in their enthusiasm for the product, but overall good.

This offer is available on Amazon till midnight on Sunday, so you have a little time to think it over.

Dentinox Teething Toothpaste Review

Dentinox Teething Toothpaste Review
My daughter had her first two teeth at four months and now has a mouth full with just the molars still to go.

As a breastfed baby I wasn't very worried about brushing her teeth but as her solid intake has increased and her milk intake decreased, and she started taking an interest in us brushing our teeth, we decided it was time to introduce the concept.

We bought Kyra a kids toothbrush which she has a play with at toothbrushing time. She swirls it around and chews on it a bit and that's all. Unfortunately that doesn't provide much guarantee of coverage!

So, we decided to try Dentinox Teething Toothpaste, a flouride free, saccharin free toothpaste that comes with a thimble like toothbrush. Designed specifically for babies aged 0-2 the toothpaste contains Xylitol – a plant based sugar substitute which has been shown to actively prevent cavities.

The way it works is by putting the finger-brush on your index finger, adding a pea-sized amount of toothpaste and rubbing the teeth gently. The tube is quite small, so it is a little more expensive than regular tooth paste, but it is so very much easier than trying to get into a baby or toddler's mouth with a toothbrush.

My daughter was unsure about it the first time, but she let me get on with it, and afterwards I allowed her to try herself (as you can see in the picture). That way, I'm sure every tooth is getting some cleaning, and she can have a go herself too.

Afterwards I let her have a sip of water, some of which she spits out, but the rest not- which is fine since it contains no fluoride (although there are a few other chemically ingredients, so check if there are any allergies you're concerned with.)

Dentinox Teething Toothpaste can be found at most leading supermarkets.

Go Diego Go Toothbrush Timer Set £2.99 (RRP £9.99) @ Play.com

by Heidi Scrimgeour in Deals on 21 January, 2010 at 9:00 am

This 'Go, Diego, Go' toothbrush timer set is just £2.99 at Play.com right now.

That's a saving of 70% or £7 off the usual price of £9.99, and once again delivery is free.

The set consists of a 2 minute timer unit, complete with a beaker and toothbrush attached, and the whole unit can be easily attached to the bathroom wall thanks to the suction cups.

It strikes me as a brilliant idea. Not only do I get fed up of saying 'brush properly' or '10 more seconds' while my own little Diegos are furiously chewing on their brushes and sucking the toothpaste instead of brushing their pearly whites, but I hate playing Hunt The Toothbrush when we're rushing out the door for school.

I think this unit is a great way of helping kids appreciate that teeth need to be brushed for more than a nanosecond, and it'll encourage them to put the brush back where it belongs, too. The whole idea should help make tooth-brushing a fun experience rather than yet another battle of wills.

Love it.
