The words of this story are almost as familiar to me as my own name - from having it read to me as a chid ("Wow mum, can you remember that far back?" "Yes, and YES we had electricity in those days!"), to marching through woods singing it when I was in the Brownies (ok, stop laughing) and then reading it to my own children - all of them have loved it and the numerous copies we possess are well-worn.
