I am completely impressed with this offer. I tested the code out by making personalised photo cards to send to family. This uses the photo you choose at the main photo, and although the design is pre-set you can include your own words. A great idea as, for example, one of his grandmother's is known as Nanny and you just never find cards with Nanny on it!

You can also fill in the middle of the card, and put stuff on the back too. There are a range of other Christmas cards to choose from - you don't have to opt for a photo one but there's also lots of other cards that can be personalised.

The smallest size costs £1.79. So with the code applied this comes down to 29p. And it gets better. Delivery by first class mail is free, so that is 29p delivered to your door.

Be warned, I found the site excruciatingly slow. Something to do perhaps while you're watching your favourite TV show.

Monster Surgery is a challenging game that involves hand-eye co-ordination and manual dexterity. Your little one has to remove parts and organs from a Frankenstein type monster with a pair of tweezers. It is the same as Operation, only this time with a spooky critter instead. Perfect for Halloween really.

If the tweezers touch the sides, the monster vibrates frantically. You spin the wheel and whichever part the arrow points to is the part that you have to remove. This book features the trickiest activities from the Puzzle Palace as well as crosswords, word searches and plenty more. There are 365 puzzles crammed into this book so kids can do one a day for a year before they run out and beg for more.

There is one word of caution here. As with most of the Moshi Monster stuff that there’s out there to buy, this was expensive for what you got. The paper is that poor quality, thin, brown paper that tears easily and isn’t very clear. It isn’t really worth £3, but it is definitely not worth nearly £7, so this discounted price is perfect. It would make a lovely stocking filler for anyone who loves those monsters.

Usually costing in the region of around £39.99, a fresh off the movie circuit, this Thomas Take n Play Blue Mountain Quarry set is a deal at £25 from Tesco Direct. And you can save on delivery charges by arranging to collect yours instore.

Thomas and Owen the Traction Engine are hard at work loading and unloading cargo at the Blue Mountain Quarry. The spinning saw blade on the drop saw cuts the blue slate and deposits it right into Thomas’ cargo car. As Thomas hauls the heavy cargo, Owen helps by pulling him up the steep incline.

The set looks pretty cool with plenty of extras and features, although Tesco have zero description as to what the set is about or what it can do. I’ve seen it on sale for over £40 elsewhere so this price is definitely a good one for anyone snatching up good Christmas pressie deals.

Duracell batteries are expensive and most kids toys demand that you feed them a ton of batteries constantly. Personally I advocate the use of rechargeable batteries, but in a pinch it’s good to have a battery or two lying around for emergencies. The Dell 1250C colour laser printer is down from £59 to £39 at Tesco Direct. That’s a neat saving of £20 off the usual price for a nice and fancy printer that should last you quite some time. I am not sure how much the Dell ink costs though, and that’s where the hidden costs are on any printer.

The Dell 1250C colour laser LED printer is ideal for home or small offices as it has superior print quality at speeds of up to 12ppm for mono and 10ppm for colour. It also has low energy consumption and maintenance free performance which is better than conventional laser printers in the same class.

It has an intelligence self-scanning print head design and can print up to 2400x600dpi resolution. You don’t get anything more than a printer here, though, and I got a printer, scanner and photocopier in one for less, but it may be that this offers far better quality prints.
