Spiderman Play Tent £7.49 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 8 June, 2011 at 9:00 am

Spiderman Play Tent £7.49 @ ArgosArgos are selling this Spiderman Play Tent for half the retail price, £7.49 instead of £14.99

I remember watching the Spiderman cartoons as a kid, I wasn't overly fussed with him then but when the first movie, with Toby Maguire, was released I changed my mind; that Spider suit did wonders for the imagination!

Playing in tents also seems to fire up kids imaginations, there's just something about climbing inside a tent and pretending 'stuff'.

You could be camping on the side of Mount Everest, in the deepest darkest most dangerous jungle or hiding from the bad guys in your Spiderman tent, all from the comfort and safety of your house or garden.

It's suitable for young superheroes aged three years and older and the dimensions are: Size (H)76.2, (W)76.2, (D)91cm.

From looking at the pictures, and reading the reviews, it seems it just pops up and folds away when it's not being used. The other thing I discovered from reading through the things other people have said about it, is there's no groundsheet - some people seemed a little disappointed by this.

In my experience kids don't care about such trivial matters; they'll be too busy conjuring up amazing games and role-play scenarios in their Spiderman play tent to worry about a groundsheet, or lack thereof!

Tents Up to 50% Off @ Tesco

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 16 May, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Tents Up to 50% Off @ TescoThere’s up to 50% off tents at Tesco for tents and outdoor equipment in preparation for the bank holiday weekend.

We’re pretty fond of camping, if for no reason other than the ability to stretch our holiday money a lot further than staying in a hotel we hardly see anyway.  We camped right up till late in my 7th month of pregnancy, and when our daughter was 8 months old, we took to the road again for 8 weeks – although we did balance the costs out with a few hotel stays towards the end.

I’m really looking forward to this summer and unpacking the gear again, and setting off for the most deserted spots we can find – which admittedly are going to be even fewer and further apart this year, since it seems no one has much money for luxury holidays – or at least, no one we know.

So, if you’re hoping to join the masses in a cheaper family holiday, Tesco comes to the rescue with this 6 Person Vis a Vis Tent for just £75, down from £150.  Or if there’s more of you, you could try the 12 sleeper Teepee Tent which with 20% off is down to £143.20. That’s less than 12 of you will pay in a hotel for one night.  For something a little more intimate, there’s the 2-person dome tent, a 1/3rd off at £20.

Happy camping!

Ben 10 & Ben 10 Alien Force Tents @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 14 February, 2011 at 12:00 pm

Ben 10 & Ben 10 Alien Force Tents @ Argos Argos have some good deals on Ben 10 and Ben 10 Alien Force Tents at the moment - there are three for your little alien hunter to choose from.

Ben Tennyson, pah! That alien hunting, bug busting dude single-handedly cost me an absolute fortune in 2010 and looking at these tempting tent deals, it looks like 2011 could go the same way (please let my youngest move on from Ben 10 SOON!).

Kids love playing, and hiding, in tents - the Ben 10 Alien Force pop-up play tent is an awesome little tent for doing just that.

Lightweight, easy to store and easy to just pop -up as and when required and fold away again just as fast, the pop-up tent is great for indoor tenting and ideal for little ones who like to play with things for a little bit but will move on to something else within 10 minutes.

The Ben 10 Igloo tent is bigger, will take a few minutes to put together and is fab for indoor and dry outdoor tenting activities.

The Ben 10 2-man outdoor tent is what it says - a tent for 2 men (I'm guessing pretty small men!) to camp outdoors with.

Kids 2 Person Teepee £17.99 @ Argos

Kids 2 Person Teepee £17.99 @ ArgosEven though you won't catch me in a tent (unless it's a 5 star one a'la those featured in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and then I might consider it!) I can spot a good tent deal when I see one, and this 2 person teepee tent from Argos is just that!

I used to camp you know! Iused to kip out in the garden in my brother's two-man tent and I spent many a camping trip away with the Girl Guides in a 12-girl bell tent!

This 2 person teepee tent reminds me of those Girl Guide days as the shape is very similar, much more interesting than your bog standard square and pointy efforts.

Kids 2 Person Teepee £17.99 @ ArgosThis particular one is in blue camo colours; there is a pink one, if you're after a tent for a girl who's into pink and flatly refuses to sleep under blue, but it's £7 more expensive.

Anyway, back to this one! Argos have reduced it from £49.99 right the way down to £17.99 which is an utter steal, in my opinion! Reading a comment from cRuNcHiE over at HUKD, it's an awesome tent,

"I presume they only call this 'kids' due to the colours. I had one of the brown/creme ones argos do , also 2man, the same size specs as this. Loved it till someone slashed it open at Glasto! For adults you can get 2 in it comfortably, for a festival its really one person plus your stuff realisticly.

Never got wet in it once even with really bad Glasto rain in the past! Recommended!"

So there you have it tent fans! It's great for kids, it's great for adults and it's great for Glasto! What more could you ask for!? (Cheaper home delivery from Argos instead of their £5.95 extortion!)
