The cottage comes filled with furniture and includes a rabbit figure for you to play with. The upstairs floor can be removed to turn the downstairs into one large play area, or add in the second floor to turn it into a complete home.

Although the description says that it is filled with furniture, one reviewer on another site commented that it only contains a table, along with the single figure. However, from the picture it looks like it also comes with a bed, and a couple of kitchen items - an oven and a sink.

The perfect family home – although a little small for regular people, Beechwood Hall is still the perfect family home for Sylvanians.

It has 3 rooms upstairs plus a balcony, a landing area and 2 rooms downstairs . There’s a large play area for the ground floor which can be turned over to create a green garden area.

It also has lights that light up – these require 2 X AA batteries, which aren’t included.

Reviewers are generally keen on it, and particularly like the fact that it closes easily so can be used to pack away furniture, which isn’t included, and Sylvanians too – who also aren’t included.

I think it’s quite expensive for essentially an empty dolls house, but then, it is a country hall, and it is for Sylvanias, so who’m I to argue. At least now it’s half price.

Next year, the Sylvanian Families franchise will have been part of the UK's toy landscape for 25 years so I imagine we'll be seeing plenty of 25th anniversary edition malarkey that will be massievely overpriced (oooh, cynical? Me?!).

Until then, Sylvanian Families fans can get their hands on a reasonably priced (now that it's been reduced) Sycamore Cottage for £17.99 instead of £29.99.

I don't get this sort of thing at all; well, I 'get it' when little kids have them and get lost in fabulous imaginative playtime with their little Sylvanian Families friends.  It's when adults buy them and have them on display all around their house, what is with THAT?!

The 3-wheel Sylvanian Families scooter from Amazon is aimed at pre-schoolers who still need that little extra support. Apparently, (and obviously, really), the scooter helps develop coordination and balance, and is aimed at youngsters aged 3 years and up.

Says Amazon, “The Sylvanian Families 3 wheeled scooter features beautifully colored Sylvanian Families graphics and matching decals to bring fun and delight to pre-school Sylvanian tots.” And yes, I know how to spell “coloured”, but apparently Amazon staff know how to cut and paste from American sites.

Reviewers say it needs a little assembly, which can be a bit difficult, and one complained of “wonky welding”, but it wasn't so bad she wanted to send it back. Her daughter loves it though, and didn't even notice. The second reviewer agreed, saying that it was a pretty scooter, but not as stable as some others she'd seen.

With only a 3.5 star rating, it seems an 'okay' scooter at a good price, but at full price, probably not so much.

This really isn't my sort of thing but for those who love the little Sylvanian Families gang then this is perfect timing for Christmas.

Originating in Japan (where else!), the Sylvanian Families characters have actually been around since 1985 (I remember when the adverts for them hit TV screens!) and by the early 1990s people were going MAD for them.

They are little anthropomorphised forest animals that you can collect and buy houses for and all sorts of other related bits and pieces.

Think dolls houses but for hedgehogs, mice and rabbits!
