Barbie Doll And Beetle £19.99 @ Smyths

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 28 February, 2012 at 4:00 pm

Barbie Doll And Beetle £19.99 @ Smyths

Smyths has reduced this pretty cool Barbie and Beetle set down from £39.99 to £19.99 which is a whopping saving of £20 off the original price. For fans of Barbie or those of you hunting for a cool birthday pressie for you little ones, this is a great choice.

The Barbie and Beetle set comes with one dolled up Barbie doll and a bright pink beetle. Barbie can cruise around in ultra glam style. The car features shiny metallic wheels, signature Barbie seats, a Barbie logo license plate, holofoil lights and a sunroof.

Simply pop your Barbies into their car and zoot them about town for some fun. I must admit that the picture looks like the Barbie is too big for the car but I am assuming that it is big enough for her and one other to fit in it. Otherwise what would be the point? Either way, this is a great price for a product that usually costs the Earth.

Free Next Day Delivery On Orders Over £29 @ Smyths Toys

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 10 December, 2011 at 4:00 pm

Free Next Day Delivery On Orders Over £29 @ Smyths ToysI've bought a lot of toys from Smyths over the years. They offer prices that are pretty good, easily on par with Toys R Us. If you're looking to buy a number of items, or a single expensive item, then it is worth checking the Smyths' website until Tuesday, as they're offering free NEXT DAY delivery on orders over £29. Yes that's right, you could order that day, get it the next, and never have to leave your warm, cosy living room. You might be able to tell that I just love free delivery offers.

There are exclusions however. It may not apply to a big item, so best to check if you're looking to get something like a bike. It is also only available on mainland Great Britain, so sadly no use if you're in Northern Ireland.

You also need to place your order before 5pm to get it the next day.

Special offers on the site at the moment include the Little Tykes Cooking Sounds Kitchen, at £29.99. It is normally £59.99.

The Fireman Sam Supreme Playset is down from £59.99 to £39.99. This is a 21 piece playset, with figures and vehicles, a collapsing roof and floor.

And then there's Magic Rattle Pooh, reduced from £29.99 to £19.99. This Winnie the Pooh toy comes with a child size rattle. When baby shakes the rattle at Pooh, Pooh will start to rock around on his bottom and the bee on his hand will dance. When baby stops rattling Pooh stops rocking.

Various Sledges & Toboggans £5.99 @ Smyths

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 1 November, 2011 at 6:00 pm

Various Sledges & Toboggans £5.99 @ Smyths

If you’re in the mood for getting your winter fun sorted out now, then this should make you very happy indeed. Smyths is selling a bunch of toboggans and sleds in all sorts of weird shapes and sizes from as low as £5.99 per sled.

I am loving some of the totally bonkers sleds and toboggans here. There is a flat circular sledge in bright red or blue for £5.99, more traditional toboggans with handlebars, brakes and comfy seating for £16.99, and bobsledges from £7.99 in a variety of colours.

You can also get snowbaords and snow racers but these are far more expensive. I am not sure why the tiny looking snow board costs nearly £40 when there is more plastic on the toboggan but anyway, the others are much better deals.

Seeing as the weather predictors are all claiming that this winter is going to be one big mass of snow, perhaps nabbing one of these now is a brilliant idea.

Chuggington Remote Control Wilson £8.49 @ Smyths

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 22 October, 2011 at 6:00 pm

Chuggington Remote Control Wilson £8.49 @ SmythsWilson is one of three main 'characters' in the CBeebies show, Chuggington. He's a trainee 'Chugger', and along with his fellow trainees lives in Chuggington. It isn't actually too bad a TV show, and when my son was younger he loved to watch it. This Chuggington Remove Control Wilson train has been hugely reduced by Smyths from £16.99 to £8.49. Delivery costs £4.99 in the UK, bringing the total to £13.48.

The next cheapest that we could find this was for £14 delivered at The Entertainer's eBay clearance shop.

Remote Control Wilson is an easy-to-use toy train that fans of the Chuggington TV series will love.

The simple controls have two buttons - one for forward and reverse drive and one for left or right steering - so kids as young as three should be able to drive Wilson around the living room without any problems.

If children are a bit too small to make him work, they can always use the 21cm long train as a push along toy until they're old enough to drive him.

Wilson requires 6 x AA batteries, which aren't included.

Over on Amazon, where it is still priced at more than £20, there are two fairly positive reviews. One reviewer says "Bought this for my grandson and he really, really loves it. One thing in particular is that when it comes up against a wall or skirting board instead of becoming stuck there it turns itself around. Really good for the money."

Lego City Advent Calendar £13.49 @ Smyths

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 14 October, 2011 at 3:00 pm

Lego City Advent Calendar £13.49 @ Smyths

The Lego Advent Calendar is hugely popular this year with so many of my friends loving them to pieces and buying them up like cakes. Usually these cost a hefty penny but Smyths have marked it down from £17.99 to £13.49 and actually have some in stock.

The Lego Advent Calendar includes 24 individual gifts including police and robber minifigures and plenty of other great Lego pieces that will work nicely with whatever sets you have at home. The theme of this year’s calendar is cops and robbers.

The theme is all about stopping the robbers from stealing all the presents. Cops get the cool snowmobile or mini police car to track their suspects and kids will love finding something new and exciting on every day of the weeks leading up to Christmas.

You will have to pay delivery charges on your Lego Advent Calendar unless you are prepared to reserve them and go instore to collect.

Barbie Doll And Beetle £19.99 @ Smyths Toys

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 22 September, 2011 at 9:00 am

Barbie Doll And Beetle £19.99 @ Smyths Toys

This Barbie and Beetle set has been reduced from £39.99 to £19.99 at Smyths toys, a very nice drop in price indeed, and delivery is also free. This would make one lucky little girl a very, very cool Christmas gift.

Barbie gets to cruise around in an ultra glam (and extremely pink) beetle with this cute set. The car has shiny metallic wheels, signature Barbie seats, a Barbie logo license plate, holofoil lights and a sunroof.

The set comes with a Barbie all dressed up in a pretty pink dress and I think she can actually fit inside the car and zoom around with it. This is pretty cool if the kids have other Barbies as they can all zoot around together and they can have lots of imaginative playing fun using the car to get them about the house.

A great deal this one, especially since it originally cost nearer £40, and it would make a lovely Christmas present.

Thomas Rock And Roll Quarry £16.99 @ Smyths

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 11 January, 2011 at 4:00 pm

Thomas Rock And Roll Quarry £16.99 @ Smyths

This Thomas Rock & Roll Quarry set usually retails for around £34.99 and is far more pricey at both Amazon and Tesco at the moment, certainly a lot more than the fabulous £16.99 that Smyths have it for at the moment.

The Thomas Rock and Roll Quarry is ideal for both entertainment and education and will give kids hours of fun and traintastic satisfaction. They can drive Thomas the tank engine and Stanley up and down Quarry mountain and pick up passengers to take to the station.

Kids can also roll the boulder down the chute, pick and load the boulder using the crane, and then load it onto the different trains to take to its destination. The kit includes a Thomas the tank engine with a cargo car, Stanley, three trackstiles, two boulders and a variety of destinations.

The tracks don’t look very long in the image so I’m not sure how far you can drive your trains, and I am not sure you can get additional tracks to bulk it up. However, it is really well priced at only £16.99 and it is made from wood, which I far prefer to plastic!

Fur Real Go Go Walking Pup £33.99 @ Smyths

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 24 November, 2010 at 3:00 pm

Fur Real Go Go Walking Pup £33.99 @ Smyths

The Fur Real Go Go Walking Pup is one of the products predicted as a best seller this Christmas by the Toy Retailers Association. I was particularly amused by the Guardian’s comment on this which was, “Please remember, a pretend canine friend is for the life of the battery, not just for Christmas.” Well, Smyths have marked this must-have toy down from £59.99 to £33.99 so if you want one, best you go and nag one!

This lovable puppy can go with you everywhere. It can walk in the neighbourhood, go to the park, explore the world with you and play with you. He makes barking noises and wags his tail as he goes, showing his appreciation for your care.

The Fur Real Go Go walking pip is led by a remote control that you can use to guide him along as you go. His fur is soft and silky and he has a little collar to mark him out as yours. This doesn’t strike me as a winner, but for any kid over four it may well be the best Christmas gift ever.

Lotso Huggin’ Bear

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 8 October, 2010 at 3:00 pm

Lotso Huggin’ Bear

This is another of those extremely very popular toys this year. The Lotso Huggin Bear from Toy Story 3 is not just any bear, he has tons of extra features, is absolutely hewg and he smells like strawberries. Usually retailing from around £40, this is a good price from Smyths.

The Lotso Bears on sale at Smyths are not available online because of the huge demand. In fact, you are only allowed to get one per customer. Which is fine by me, I don’t really want an army of Lotso’s in my house even if they do smell of strawberries.

You can check your local store’s availability and get the on-shelf promise of booking a bear for yourself. Now, on to his features. He has interactive bear mode for cuddles, if you press his paws he’ll talk, if you tickle his feet he laughs and talks.

You will need batteries to keep this guy going. Now I have to say that having seen photos of him next to normal sized toys I can confess that he’s really quite big. It is a lot to pay for a toy but this is the lowest price I’ve seen for a while.

Tonka Interactive Chuck £33.74 @ Smyths

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 17 September, 2010 at 11:00 am

Tonka Interactive Chuck £33.74 @ SmythsMarked down from £49.99 to £33.74, Chuck is a truck of interactive goodness and fun. He certainly better be considering the price! He doesn’t look like much but perhaps he offers kids some truly amazing features.

Click here to see what Chuck has to offer at Smyths

Chuck knows when you pick him up, push him around or put boulders in his dump bed. This face and body animate when he talks too! Now I’m staring at the picture of Chuck and it looks to me like his face is made of stickers. How do they animate? Or am I being daft?

He is a very nice size for a truck, though, and is very, very cute so that is a bonus. You will need batteries to make Tonka Interactive Chuck £33.74 @ Smythshim go (I recommend investing in rechargeable dudes) and they are not provided when you buy him.

I’m sorry I can’t be of more help when it comes to what Chuck can do and all his special features but information is quite thin on the ground here. I can only assume that he does fantastic things for that price.

Vtech Vsmile Smart Keys £3.99 @ Smyths Toys

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 17 December, 2009 at 10:00 am

Vtech Vsmile Smart Keys £3.99 @ Smyths ToysThis excellent educational toy from Vtech has been marked down from £24.99 to a mere £3.99 just in time for a very Merry Christmas! It’s such an impressive deal that I’m wishing I hadn’t bought all my presents already.

This keyboard has been designed to help your child develop essential typing skills with some great games and activities. It does need the V.Smile Learning System to operate and this is not included in the price.

The keyboard will help your child to improve their speed, accuracy, reactions, spelling and character recognition and is suited to children over the age of three years. It’s quite light so they can manoeuvre it easily.

I bought one of their older models a while ago and they are actually quite good. Although I’m not massively impressed with their exercises as some of them feel a bit advanced and my child doesn’t really enjoy them that much.Vtech Vsmile Smart Keys £3.99 @ Smyths Toys

However, it’s well worth having for this price and will entertain them and teach them more than most things for £4. If you like educational toys then here’s a good one for you.
