Shrek Trilogy DVD £7.99 @ TescoEntertainment

Shrek Trilogy DVD £7.99 @ TescoEntertainmentI'm a big Shrek fan, the Teenagers are big Shrek fans and the youngest is a big Shrek fan.

With a glittering cast, fabulous animation and very clever storylines the Shrek franchise couldn't fail really. Every character has a very strong identity, everyone has a favourite and who can fail not to say 'ahhh!!!' when Puss in Boots turns on the charm with those big round eyes and pleading face...right before he ATTACKS!

The sounds tracks that accompany the movies are fantastic too, combine this with scripts that work on both child-friendly and grown up levels these really are perfect movies for all the family.

If you're like me then this deal is a great one - I've got the original Shrek movie on, wait for it....a VHS video tape, I don't even own a video tape recorder any more so that's pretty useless! I think I've got Shrek II on DVD somewhere but it could be lost forever in the dark and scary depths of a teenage bedroom and I haven't seen Shrek the Third.

So to be able to grab all of this Shrek Trilogy for just £7.99 is great. There is a 15% discount code that can be used with Tesco Entertainment if you haven't used it before - FTSL15-1 - which will drop the price down to £6.80.

There's no delivery to pay and don't forget you'll get clubacard points with this purchase too.

Shrek Interactive DVD Game £2.87 @ Base.comI wonder if there is anyone out there in the big wide world who has seen Shrek but didn't love it...?

I could watch the Shrek movies over and over, I love how they work on a dual level - one for the grown ups and one for the kids. Grown ups hold Shrek fancy dress parties, kids have Shrek themed birthday parties; all in all, everyone loves a bit of Shrek madness.

So this interactive 'Totally Tangled Tales' Shrek DVD is bound to be a winner with all family members, especially as Base.com have slashed the price from £19.99 to £2.87, and there's no delivery charges to pay either.

It has over 1600 video, picture and audio questions, you can write your own bonkers fairytales  and adjust the question difficulty according to how old each player is.

There are 10 fun question types and  'Skipper Spins' and 'Double Or Nothing' random elements for that wildcard extra 'something', along with live-action scenes with John Cleese and some all-new storybook animations for everyone's viewing delight.

Shrek 2 Special Edition 2 Disc Box Set £4.85 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 3 March, 2010 at 3:00 pm

Shrek 2 Special Edition 2 Disc Box Set £4.85 @ AmazonShrek is one of those creations that just works for young and old alike

J u s t in case you have no idea who Shrek is (and how is that possible? Have you been living on Mars....?), Shrek is an big green ogre who lives in a land called Far Far Away.  His best friend is a donkey and Princess Fiona is also an ogre; the Fairy Godmother isn't really a lovely old lady, she's a power-hungry nasty piece of work and her son, Prince Charming, is a self-absorbed narcissistic 'dude'.

I have to say that Shrek 2 is probably my favourite of the three movies.  Jennifer Saunders as the Fairy Godmother is just a genius piece of casting and Shrek in human form really does look alarmingly like a non-haggard Gordon Brown.

This 2-disc special edition box set is an absolute fairytale for Shrek fans - give it to them and they'll live happily ever after.

Firstly, the packaging SPEAKS!  "Push the 'press here' on the outer sleeve and you'll hear the unmistakeable tones of Eddie Murphy as Donkey say, "Shrek and Donkey on another whirlwind adventure!"  his mouth lights up too.

Shrek 2 Special Edition 2 Disc Box Set £4.85 @ AmazonThen there's a ton of  bonus specials or 'featurettes' as they seem to be called these days  among them:

  • Technical goofs - there aren't many people who don't enjoy outtakes and seeing where things went wrong!
  • 'The Tech Of Shrek 2' featurette
  • 'Meet Puss In Boots' featurette
  • Over 15 games and activities including 'Save Fiona' and 'Find Puss In Boots'
  • Music video from Counting Crows
  • Sing-a-long with the Fairy Godmother
  • 'Puss In Boots' music video
  • Lessons in burping from Shrek and Fiona - uh oh, brace yourself for an outbreak of burping across the land!
  • 'The Making Of The Far Far Away Surprise Ending' featurette

The rrp on this box set is £27.99 so to be able to buy it for £4.85 really is a happily ever after deal!
