Scooby Doo DVD Christmas Collection £3.95 @ Base

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 17 October, 2011 at 9:00 am

Scooby Doo DVD Christmas Collection £3.95 @ BaseBase have reduced the price of this Scooby Doo Christmas Collection DVD; they've brought it down from £12.99 to £3.95.

Scooby Doo, that beloved doggy, has stood the test of time and fought off all the young pretenders, that have come and gone, to remain a very firm kids' favourite.

I remember watching Scoob' when I was little; my mum would stop whatever it was she was doing to come and watch too - Scooby rocked in our household.

I've been rediscovering my love for Scooby Doo recently as my youngest, despite Ben 10, Star Wars Clone Wars, Bakugan and everything else modern, has developed a love for the guys (and dog) of Mystery Inc.

All of his Christmas presents are pretty much sorted now and I'm tempted to buy this Scooby Doo DVD Christmas Collection, just as an extra something.

Three festive episodes are on this DVD, so it's something you can put on when there's half an hour to kill, rather than know you'll be watching hours and hours of  Scooby - even with Scoob',  sometimes less really is more.

Base don't charge for UK delivery, dispatch is usually within 24 hours and your Scooby Doo Christmas Collection DVD should land on your doorstep three to five days after that.

Scooby Doo Pirate Fort Playset £20.00 @ Tesco Direct

Scooby Doo Pirate Fort Playset £20.00 @ Tesco Direct

The Scooby Doo Pirate Fort Playset is £20.00 at Tesco Direct right now, half of it's original £40.00 and £9.99 less than Amazon – for a similar set without the figurines.

If Scooby Doo and his friends and their games are a hit in your house, I wouldn't be surprised if this Pirate Fort Playset goes down a treat. The playset comes with seven pirate themed characters and lots of features in the pirate themed vehicle.

There's not a lot of information on this set on the website, and it differs from sets with the same name sold at other retailers, but the 69 reviewers have given it overall good ratings. Most say that their kids love playing with it, that it's fairly sturdy, with only a couple of bits that had to be put in place, such as ropes and cannon, and that it is great for imaginative play.

There were also comments about the extra's being nice, such as the van which also comes with the set.

The negatives were that the trap door can be a bit flimsy, and that it doesn't take very rough handling and 'breaks' easily, but is as easily put back together.

Suitable for ages 3+

Scooby Doo Mystery Machine 10 DVD Box Set £17.99 @ Play

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 28 August, 2010 at 12:00 pm

Scooby Doo Mystery Machine 10 DVD Box Set £17.99 @ PlayIt's a bit like a trip down memory lane for me this morning, first there was the Very Hungry Caterpillar and now Scooby Doo!

I remember watching Scooby Doo on TV as a kid with my mum. She loved him more than we did, I'm sure, as she'd stop whatever it was she was doing and sit down with us to watch.

Scooby was, no IS, her favourite - in fact, she has a Scooby Doo hot water bottle!  Scooby was my favourite too, Daphne was too girly for me and as for Thelma...well she just got on my nerves going on about her glasses all the time!

This Scooby Doo Mystery Machine DVD box set contains 10 discs, and the Mystery Machine is actually the presentation box which I think is pretty cool (that's the team's van for those who have no idea what the Mystery Machine is).

Scooby Doo Mystery Machine 10 DVD Box Set £17.99 @ PlayI was most tickled by this review on Play.com left by someone who received this box set as a pressie, I think they sum it up rather well so I'll give them the final word...

This is an absolute MUST buy! My younger sister brought me this at Christmas and I'm 18! I Loved it and couldn't ask for a better present!!

Scooby Doo Collection: Vol.2 (3 DVDs) £4.22 @ Tesco Ent'

Scooby Doo Collection: Vol.2 (3 DVDs) £4.22 @ Tesco Ent'"Raggy! RAGGY! Rit's a MONSTER!"

Scooby Doo is one of the big heros of my childhood; I used to look forward to watching 'The Adventures of Scooby Doo' on the TV and he spans the generations too as my mum's a HUGE fan, as are all of my kids.

Shaggy and Scoob are everyone's favourites I think (someone's bound to prove me wrong now), Daphne was just a bit girly, Thelma - well she was the class swot and if she moaned about her glasses just one more time!  Fred? I didn't rate him much either, far to suave and a bit smug I always thought.

This Scooby Doo Volume Two boxset has three discs and each disc has a feature-length episode on it: Scooby Doo And The Witch's Ghost, Scooby Doo And The Alien Invaders, Scooby Doo On Zombie Island.

Scooby Doo Collection: Vol.2 (3 DVDs) £4.22 @ Tesco Ent'There are also the, now, normal extras or rather, 'Special Features' (if they're normal....are they still extra I wonder?!)

  • Making of the Witch's Ghost: featurette
  • Trailers
  • Hex Girl - Music Video
  • Making of Alien Invaders: featurette
  • Zombie Island: featurette

The published price on the Tesco Entertainment site is £4.97, to drop it down to £4.22 simply enter this code - FTSL15-1 - at the checkout; there's free delivery on all UK orders and double clubcard points too.
