by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 17 March, 2012 at 7:00 pm

Midseason Sale @ Mothercare

It’s the midseason sale at Mothercare at the moment with loads of special offers across the store.

There are some really good prices on things at the moment, with a random and varied discount rate on different things.

For example, there’s 70% off the Mothercare Microwave Steriliser Pod with an original RRP of £24.99, now selling at £7.49. There’s also 50% off the Baby Einstein Caterpillar and Friends Playgym, originally £59.99 but now £29.99.

Maternity clothes have offers of 3 for 2 on essential items, and up to 70% off selected items of clothing.

In bedding there’s 30% off a few items, and in kids bedroom furniture too.  There’s up to 70% off in the feeding section too, although the majority of items have between 33% and 44% off.

You’ll find 154 toys for babies and toddlers with offers of 2 for £10, 3 for 2 sports and gardening toys, 20% off gifts and impression kits, and 20% off swimming essentials.

Mamas And Papas Up To 50% Off Sale

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 28 June, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Mamas And Papas Up To 50% Off SaleWell, as it says in the title, there’s up to 50% off at Mamas and Papas on pushchairs, nursery furniture, nursery interiors and some baby and maternity clothing.

I really love Mamas and Papas, but can pretty much count on one hand the items I’ve bought  from them, because most of the time, they’re out of my price range. However, right now, with up to 50% off I’m finding it hard to find reasons not to buy just a little something here and there.

While there are loads of offers in store, here are a few of the web exclusives I thought you might be interested in:

  • The Skate 3 in 1 - City Scape travel system is half price, down from £675 to £337.50.While I’m not a buggy kind of mum, that does seem like a fairly good saving!
  • Similarly, the Madison Collection in Ivory White was £999 and is now £499 – a whopping saving on nursery furniture there.
  • The gorgeous Barnaby Button Quilt and Pillowcase Set which is normally an eye-watering £72 is now £36.
  • While some hate them for restricting the baby, my daughter is a kicker and her blankets never stay on, so when she was a baby, we loved our baby sleeping bags, and these are down to £15 from £30.

These are just a few of the web exclusives, but there are plenty more to check out.

25% Off Everything @ Laura Ashley

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 26 February, 2011 at 6:00 pm

25% Off Everything @ Laura AshleyIt is that time of the year again. Laura Ashley has its 'Mega Event' on. This means 25% off everything, in all the store's departments including furnishings and clothing.

I've always had a love/hate relationship with Laura Ashley. I find I hate myself for loving so much the Laura Ashley style. I mean, I just isn't me. I'm not a soft colourings and pretty flowers kind of person. Except that as it turns out, I walk into the store, start looking at everything, and find that really actually I am.

I used to love picking up clothes in there for my niece. It isn't the cheapest store, so I used to wait each year for their big sale. This puts clothes and other items sold there into the just about affordable range! Sadly now I don't have a little girl to buy cute wee frocks for.

The sale event started on Thursday and finishes TOMORROW, so don't delay if you do want to look for a few bargains.

Although I guess bargains is a relative word! But still, if there's something you really want and can only get it from the store then you can get it that little bit cheaper. Like this fabulous car wallpaper! It was £24 a roll and is now £18. A saving of six quid off a roll works out quite well if you're doing, for example, an accent wall.

Disney Sale On Branded Merchandise @ Asda Direct

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 22 January, 2011 at 3:00 pm

Disney Sale On Branded Merchandise @ Asda Direct

Asda Direct has a reduced much of its Disney bedding and other merchandising in a Disney sale on its website. This includes fleece blankets, cushions, duvet covers, and curtains. Also rugs and odd items like the digital picture frame pictured above.

One really good bargain in the sale is this Disney Princess 7in Digital Photo Frame. Asda has reduced it from £50 to £33.75. It takes SD memory cards, which slot it into the photo frame. Pictures are displayed in 16:9 aspect ratio. Includes auto power on/off, clock, calendar, AC Power adaptor and comes preloaded with free Disney Wallpapers.

Standard delivery on the site is £4.95, or free if you spend more than £25 and can collect in store. Am I alone in thinking that's a big tight of Asda when other stores do free instore collection regardless of how much you spend?

I've got the Winnie the Pooh curtains up in son's room, and they're just lovely for a baby or small pre-schooler. Got to replace them now though, he thinks they too babyish. Sigh. They grow up so fast. Asda has Disney Winnie The Pooh curtains with a 54" drop reduced in the sale from £19 to £14.75. There's also Cars, Disney Princess, Disney Faeries, and Hannah Montana curtains.

Disney Store: Up to 50% Off

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 17 January, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Disney Store: Up to 50% Off

The Disney Store is a great place to kill a few minutes from time to time, but I rarely walk out with anything, because really, you're usually paying for the label. I do love watching my daughter run around in the shop looking at and playing with everything though. A sale at the Disney Store is rather dangerous though – I suddenly feel like I can afford more!

Nevertheless, Disney Store has up to 50% off on a good range of toys and accessories, and may be worth a look if you're in the market for something anyway.

So, some of my favourites in the up to 50% off sale include the Toy Story 3 Electric Train Set which was £70.00 and is now £34.99 and includes a Western style locomotive, 3 carriages, Buzz and Woody figurines and a desert scene track mat.

Or what about this Nemo Inflatable Bath – incredibly useful on camping trips with a baby, by the way – and down from £17.00 to £8.49.
There are lovely fancy dress items on sale, which I just love for my daughter's dress up box. I adore the Alice in Wonderland Costume with Headband for £9.99 down from £20.00 or even the Mickey Mouse Plush Costume which was £25.00 and is now £12.49. Is it too early to prepare for Halloween?

There's loads to choose from, and if you spend over £75.00 delivery will be free

Early Learning Centre Up To 50% Off Sale

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 8 January, 2011 at 8:00 am

Early Learning Centre Up To 50% Off Sale

January sales are a pretty good time to stock up on gifts and toys for the year ahead, and Early Learning Centre has provided just such an opportunity with up to 50% off on selected toys.

I've told you before about my mother's cupboard in the hallway with the shelf high up and out of reach that was always stocked with trinkets and gifts, cards, wrapping paper and so, so that whenever there was an occasion - a birthday party, teachers present or so on - there'd be something in the cupboard and we wouldn't have to go out and buy.

I think it's a great idea to do that, especially now that my daughter has friends her age, and we'll be invited to more and more birthday parties as the years go by.

The Early Learning Centre sale has a good really good prices, and is, I think, worth a look.

The Whizz Around Garage, for example, is 50% off at £20.00, and is a two- floor chunky garage with flashing lights, realistic sounds, 2 ramps, lift and 2 magnetic vehicles. The Whizz Around Garage is also available in pink.

The Country Kitchen actually made my heart beat a little faster. It is just so beautiful. The accessories are sold separately, making this £98.00, a £42.00 saving, still rather expensive, but what a beautiful wooden set.

With two pregnant friends I am also keeping a look out for new baby gifts again, so this Blossom Farm 3 in 1 baby gym looks to be a pretty good half price saving at £20.00

I hope you find something you like at the Early Learning Centre Sale!

Boots Half Price Sale

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 30 December, 2010 at 8:00 am

Boots Half Price Sale

There are some really great prices at the Boots half price sale, on at the moment online and in store.

Setting up and buying new things for a baby can be so expensive that every little bit does help. Some of the offers at Boots aren't all that little though!

Take for example the Bebe Confort Loola Up pushchair availble in red and black, which was £275.00 and is now £165.00 – that's a pretty huge saving if you were buying a pushchair anyway!

The Fisher Price Rainforest Peek-a-Boo waterfall Soother is down by £8.25 to £24.74 – a great price for some cot-side soothing with it's combination of lights, toys, and music to help make sleep-time a restful, relaxing experience for both parents and babies.

Even the changing bags are on offer, and I've always been mortified at their costs! The Kalencom Disco Dots Change Bag, for example, is now just £25.00 – way more affordable than the original £50.00 (which is actually still not a bad price for a changing bag!)

So, if you're in the market for baby equipment, popping over to Boots right now may well turn out to be a great way to save!

Mothercare Sale: Up To 50% Off

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 28 December, 2010 at 7:00 pm

Mothercare Sale: Up To 50% Off

Mothercare is having an up to half price sale on everything you could possibly want for your baby.

I read an article once that said the average first time parents in the UK spend around £4000 on the birth and first year of their baby's life. I must admit that due to sickening amounts of restraint and taking turns at self-control, we spent nowhere near that, but I've seen friends buy everything they 'needed' at unbelievable cost.

So, if you're just not able to hold back, and simply must have one of everything, you'll want to get down to Mothercare quick-smart! Or, of course, buy online.

The up to 50% off sales are on pushchairs, car seats, nursery furniture, shoes, maternity wear, clothing, toys and feeding equipment, while the bedding and bathing sections have up to 30% off and children's bedroom furniture has 20% off.

So, if you're expecting a new addition, or have friends who are, this is a great time to stock up on new baby gifts – or indeed, stock up for your own and save yourself a fortune!

And while you're shopping, don't forget Mothercare's price promise – if you find what you're looking for cheaper at a competitor, they'll match it, and if the item is over £20.00, they'll also give you a £10.00 Mothercare voucher.

Up To 50% Off Sale @ Evans

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 27 December, 2010 at 8:00 am

Up To 50% Off Sale @ Evans

Evans leads the way this morning with up to 50% off on clothing, sleepwear, lingerie, shoes, and boots both online and in store.

We all knew the sales were coming, but it's still pretty exciting to see what they are! It's almost like extending Christmas. Especially when you can do it from the comfort of your sofa, sipping mulled wine and munching on leftover mince pies while the whole family is mercifully entertained by their Christmas treasures.

It's hard to imagine right now, but there's a great range of short-sleeved, spring style clothing on offer in this sale, so perhaps a great time to stock up in preparation for what must, please, be a good summer – we deserve it, after all!

Shoes come in sizes four to eleven, and some are priced as low as £5.00. Besides the boots and sandals, there are some lovely party shoes, at great prices, like the cut out platforms pictured above at £20.00, down from £29.50. Be warned though – most of the shoes under £10.00 have already sold out online.

The down side of shopping on line is that delivery is taking a little longer than preferred, with some postcodes waiting up to seven days for deliveries.

Delivery is £4.00 for standard, and nominated delivery has been suspended until the snow has melted.

Toy And Games Sale @ Debenhams

Toy And Games Sale @ Debenhams

Debenhams have a great toys and games sale on with 20% to 50% off selected items. The code PZ8P also gives you an additional 10% off.

I know Tamsin has already shared a few of the Debenhams offers with you today, but there are so many, I thought I'd share the rest with you.

So, the Early Learning Centre items have 20% off, as does the Hello Kitty and VTech ranges. For 50% off, you can have Boardgames and Puzzles, Art, Craft and Science toys and Books.

I have a confession to make – I've not bought a single Christmas present yet. It's very unusual for me. Normally I've bought everything I need by September! This year, however, I seem to be totally distracted by the ranges available, and seem to wait be constantly waiting to see what the next deal will be, in case it's even better. I guess I'd better decide soon, because time is running out!

I personally liked the look of these:

First Pottery Set £6.50, from £13.00 is great for creative play.

The Hello Kitty Snowstorm Drinking cup, £4.20 from £6.00, is perfect for this weather and the pink particles float around her when shaken, just like in a snowstorm.

And finally, the VTech Alphabet Apple with safari animals to help preschoolers learn the alphabet was £22.00 and is now only £10.00

Those are my first choices for this Christmas, and I'm rather happy with the almost £20.00 saving!

Up To 80% Off @ BBC Shop

It seems everyone is getting in on the 'get ready for Christmas' action, and this offer of up to 80% off on Books, DVDs, CDs and Toys from the BBC Shop is no exception.

I just love snuggling up on the sofa for a good movie, and many a winter's evening has been offered up to watching a new (to us) series from start to finish. The same applies to books and music – the rare quiet weekend cuddled up in bed reading a good book to background music does wonders for the soul.

Which is where this awesome sale from the BBC Shop comes in, with movies such as Single Father: Starring David Tennant, and box sets like Merlin Series 3 at 75% off. In the CD sale, BBC Shop have audio books starting at just £3.25, and Doctor Who: The Essential Companion for £9.79.

Books like Match of the Day Annual 2011 (£4.49) and Saturday Kitchen Cookbook (£9.99) will make great gifts, while £5.59 for Alan Titchmarsh's How to Garden: Vegetables and Herbs is a small price to pay to learn a new hobby.

Finally, the BBC Christmas Toy Shop is a dream for anyone who loves Dr. Who, Top Gear, In the Night Garden and most other BBC shows, with toys from £4.45 (ZingZillas - 4 Jigsaws in a box) to £48.99 (Eleven Doctors Figure Set (Doctor Who).

BBC Shop delivery charges start at £2.45 and orders are generally despatched in one working day, so there's plenty to get your orders in. No sign of how long the sale will be lasting for though, so don't delay – fill your stockings today!

50% Off Sale @ Dorothy Perkins

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 12 October, 2010 at 3:00 pm

50% Off Sale @ Dorothy Perkins

Dorothy Perkins are having a 50% off sale at the moment and there are quite a few items included. Although I did spend a good few minutes trying to FIND the sale items (clue: don’t click on the banner) there are some nice bargains.

Click on Sale & Offers in the top right-hand corner of the screen and then use the drop-down menu to choose your items. You can choose from Petite, Accessories, Jewellery, Swimwear, Coats, Jackets, Leggings and more.

The prices range from very, very lovely £7 all the way up to £30. Unlike last time I visited the Dorothy Perkins sale, there are actually quite a few sizes available and the range is rather nice. In fact, I’ve left my credit card at home so I can’t be tempted.

This is also a pretty good spot to choose some Christmas gifts as there’s bound to be someone who’d adore some jewellery or a lush scarf. Also, if you spend over £75 then delivery is free.

Mothercare Sale

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 31 July, 2010 at 8:00 am

Mothercare SaleI'm going to kick off this PlayPennies Saturday with the Mothercare sale!

There are various different offers on at the moment I'll try my best to cover all of them for you.

They have...

Right, so pushchairs - this Mothercare Xtreme travel system has been reduced from £400 to £200!  As someone who's never enjoyed pushing pushchairs, I have to say that it looks pretty COOL and for that price, if I was in the market for one I'd be clicking BUY NOW already - it's in stock and will qualify for free delivery or, if your local Mothercare has it 'out the back', then you can pop along and pick it up TODAY!

There are some very cute clothes on offer - I was always a sucker for baby clothes especially when they were on offer.

If you find something you really like, I'd take advantage of the buy one get one half price offer and buy it in two different sizes, kids grow out of things so fast that I always did this with outfits that I adored. I also love offers on things like three packs of things like these t-shirts too.

And daren't  go and look at the toys, I'll leave that up to you; delivery is free if you spend over £50 which is going to be dead easy-peasy!

Habitat Sale: Up To 50% Off

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 30 June, 2010 at 3:00 pm

Habitat Sale: Up To 50% OffI love Habitat! I'm NOT going to buy anything, I'm just going to look at things to show you...honest!

I hope you appreciate the iron-will this is going to require! I am only grateful there isn't a Habitat close by as this sale applies in store as well as online.

As you can see from the banner, lots of things are included in the sale: all sorts of furniture, household bits and pieces like candles, vases and mirrors and things for kids too.

I quite like this world wall sticker for kids, it's W150 x H80cm, made of vinyl and has been reduced from £39.00 to £27.30 - the blurb says it's suitable for kids over three years, but I'm not entirely sure why...it's not as if it has any small parts!

Carrying on with the kiddies educational theme, how about this wooden numbers game? Each little wooden block has a multiplication sum on it and sits inside the wooden grid - underneath each block is the answer to a sum and you have to match them up and it's reduced from 2 x 9 pounds to 2 x 6 pounds plus 60 pence *grin*.

Go and have a mooch around Habitat for yourself and see if anything takes your fancy - you've got until the 2 August until it's all over.

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 18 March, 2010 at 5:00 pm

25% Off Everything @ Laura AshleyOOOOHHH someone take my purse and cards away from me QUICK!

I've always had a funny relationship with Laura Ashley - some of their stuff I love and some of it is, in my opinion, erm...an 'aquired taste'.  But with 25% off across their entire range, both online AND instore, there's bound to be more than a few things that will tempt me, and you and at a more affordable price than usual.

This sale event only started today and it runs until this Sunday (21st) so let's go and have a quick look-see around...

25% Off Everything @ Laura AshleyOhh there's SO much to choose from!  OK, how about these boys duvet sets: trains, dinosaurs, on the sea and football that are now £37.50 instead of £50?  For girls: garden fairies, Katie, forest friends, carrie heart and fairytale princess sets for the same price.

25% Off Everything @ Laura AshleyI utterly adore this butterfly charm necklace which is now £15 instead of £20, it would make a stunning present for fans of all things butterfly!

Don't fancy any of that?  Maybe some new sunglasses so you're ready for some summer glamour?

25% Off Everything @ Laura AshleyOR a new handbag for the handbag collectors among you - I'm not a big bag fan, in both senses, but I'm quite taken with this little one.

70% Off On Shoes @ Debenhams

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 25 February, 2010 at 10:00 am

70% Off On Shoes @ DebenhamsWho said Mother’s Day was only about getting presents from your kids and partners? Quick mums! Whip out that secret credit card that’s kept to one side just for shopping, ahem, emergencies like these and nab yourself some delicious footwear from Debenhams.

Ok, so no pushing and biting please ladies, there’s plenty for everyone here. Did I neglect to mention that the link I’ve given you above takes you to the entire sale at Debenhams? That you can also nab yourself jewellery, naughty knickers and shoes?

When searching for your perfect shoes remember that you get free delivery on all orders over £30 so, obviously, you’ll need to get more than one pair of shoes. Or that perfect pair that cost juuust a little more than you budgeted for...

Let’s take a look at some of the offers then. There is a hammered disc collar by Matthew Williamson down to £12, gorgeous underwear for as little as £3.20 (imagine how many you can get for the £30 free delivery cut off?), court shoes down to £15 and dresses down by at least £20. 70% Off On Shoes @ Debenhams

I have been using the site as I work and I must say that the shopping is tedious and annoying. If you select “more shopping” it will take you back to the landing page and not to where you were, and some items do not show the sale price until you check out. Still, those annoyances aside, this is a fabulous sale.

20% Off Art & Creativity @ ELC

by Heidi Scrimgeour in Deals on 29 January, 2010 at 9:00 am

The Early Learning Centre has a fab sale on just now, with 20% of selected li20% Off Art & Creativity @ ELCnes in their Art & Creativity range.

There's so much to choose from but I especially like the look of this Super Scribbler.

Suitable for children aged 3 and above, the Super Scribbler allows your child to create pictures and patterns, then simply swipe the screen and they're gone.

It comes with a pen, 3 in 1 pattern roller, four stamps and an automatic return eraser.

It's made from chunky durable plastic, making it ideal for little hands and it's apparently a useful means of helping children improve their fine motor skills.20% Off Art & Creativity @ ELC

It's usually £17.00 but it's reduced to £13.60 in this sale and I reckon it would be a brilliant buy for a little one with Christmas money to spend. A kid can have too many toys but I don't think they ever tire of getting arty and creative.

There are loads of other lovely creative bits and pieces in the sale so it's worth having a good nose around. I've already got my eye on a couple of birthday present bargains for later in the year.
