Hello Kitty Cook And Play Kitchen £22.49 @ Debenhams

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 15 December, 2011 at 9:00 am

Hello Kitty Cook And Play Kitchen £22.49 @ DebenhamsYes I know it's another play kitchen, but it's a Hello Kitty Cook and Play Kitchen, it's portable too and you can grab one from Debenhams for £22.49 instead of the usuall £49.99.

Now I suppose your point of view is going to influence whether you think this Hello Kitty Cook and Play Kitchen is great or disappointing.  It measures 56cm tall by 34.5cm wide which is NOT very big even by play kitchen standards; however, it seems to have been designed for kitchen play on the run as it packs away into a storage case, making it easy to take with you when you're off visiting rellies etc.

If you want a huge play kitchen then this Hello Kitty Cook and Play Kitchen clearly isn't going to be for you, but if you want something small and compact, that's not going to dominate your home and can easily be packed up and taken with, then I think it could be just the thing.

The published price on the Debenhams website for the Hello Kitty Cook and Play Kitchen is £24.99, just enter code - DB2U - into the promotion code box in your basket to bring it down to £22.49.

There's nothing to pay to have your Hello Kitty Cook and Play Kitchen delivered to your home - the last date for Debenhams Christmas postage is 22 December according to HUKD, which I think is risking it a bit to be honest - or you can go and collect it from your local Debenhams if you prefer.

Bosch Breakfast Set £15 @ ELC

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 22 October, 2011 at 1:00 pm

Bosch Breakfast Set £15 @ ELCSo, you're the proud owner of a brand new, top of the range, wooden diner kitchen but you haven't got any kitchen tech' gadgets to put in it!  Pop over to the ELC and you'll be able to pick up a Bosch Breakfast play set for £15 instead of £40.

I have to say, this Bosch Breakfast play looks pretty fabulous, if there was a real-life, fully-functioning version I'd be pretty tempted to have it my own kitchen - especially if I could get it all for £15!

It features a kettle, toaster, coffee machine (essential!) two plates, two cups, two saucers, two knives, two forks, two spoons, two teaspoons, two slices of toast and a fried egg - no sausage or hash browns?!  Well I suppose you can't have everything for less than £20.

I really wish the ELC had a free collection/delivery to your local store option as their delivery charges are £4.95 - if you combine this with the wooden diner kitchen then delivery is free, but if you just want the Bosch Breakfast play set then it might be worth a quick nosy in your local ELC, if you happen to be passing, to see if this discount applies in-store too.

Little Tikes Side by Side Kitchen £49.99 @ Toys R Us

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 5 October, 2011 at 9:00 am

Little Tikes Side by Side Kitchen £49.99 @ Toys R UsToys R Us have reduced the price of this Little Tikes Side by Side Kitchen by half price - it's £49.99 now, instead of £99.99.

The Great British Bake Off reality TV series has taken the country by storm - even my grown-up nephew watches it, and he's pretty hardcore! - so if you have a young wannabe cake baker at home, then this Little Tikes Side by Side kitchen is going to make them very happy indeed.

Or perhaps they're an aspiring Gordon Ramsey!

On second thoughts, maybe not Gordon - let's go instead for the next Jamie Oliver or Nigella, they're much better role models than Gordon F-word Ramsey.

What fun it would be if, on the opening of their first Michelin starred restaurant, they were asked by the great and the good of the the culinary media, "What was it that first inspired you to become a chef?"

"Well it all started one Christmas when I was given a Little Tikes Side by Side kitchen!"

This kitchen won't be on such a grand scale as their restaurant one - it fits neatly into the corner and has an oven, sink, fridge, faux granite countertop and comes with lots of accessories.

It's suitable for wannabe chefs aged three and over and makes realistic electronic kitchen noises too.

Standard delivery, if you don't want to collect your Little Tikes Side by Side kitchen for free, is £4.95.

Goldilocks Dressing-Up Costume (5-7 years) £6.49 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 22 May, 2011 at 11:00 am

Goldilocks Dressing-Up Costume (5-7 years) £6.49 @ ArgosIf your daughter is aged between five and seven years old and is into dressing up, then pop over to Argos and pick up of these Goldilocks dressing up costumes for her; they're selling them for half price, £6.49 instead of £12.99.

My mum would be horrified if I'd bought anything like this for my daughter when she was small, not because she has anything against dressing up but because she always used to MAKE our dressing up outfits.

In fact, she's a bit of a costume making whizz - the wardrobes are full of various fancy dress party outfits that she's made and they are seriously awesome.

However, if you haven't got a fancy dress costume making fanatic mother like I have, then this Goldilocks dressing-up costume is for you...unless, of course, YOU are a whizz with the sewing machine and can whip things up yourself.

You're little girly will be able to dress up in a yellow dress with puff sleeves, an apron with three bears on the front (of course) and a headband with a bow on it.

This isn't included in Argos' 30 day money back guarantee, although this doesn't affect your statutory rights.

The Goldilocks dressing up costume is available for free instore collection or home delivery, which will set you back £5.95.

Dickie Tower Crane Set £7.50 @ Debenhams

Dickie Tower Crane Set £7.50 @ DebenhamsDebenhams are selling this Dickie Tower Crane set for half price; £7.50 instead of £15.00.

Click HERE to go over to Debenhams

If you have a little boy, he's going to love this Dickie Tower Crane Set (let's not leave the girls out, your daughter might love playing construction sites with it too).

Boys tend to have a big fascination with HUGE tower cranes and all the general digging and consruction that usually goes along with them.

Perhaps it's the fact that they're so big and look like they could just pick you up at any moment and move you w a y over somewhere else?  Or maybe it's just because if you're the tower crane driver, YOU get to be in control of such a mechanical monster.

Whatever it is, boys dig them.

My youngest has something very similar to this Dickie Tower Crane set and he's spent many a happy hour winching things up in the bucket, swinging the crane arm round and lowering whatever was in said bucket somewhere else.

This Dickie Tower Crane Set is nice and simple; no batteries required, no bells, no whistles just the crane and a crane driver figure.

Happy lifting (or whatever the technical term is for picking something up with a crane)!

Medical Carry Case £6.27 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 19 October, 2010 at 12:00 pm

Medical Carry Case £6.27 @ AmazonIs there a doctor or nurse in the house?  There will be if you dash over to Amazon! The price has been reduced down to £6.27 and this tends to go out of stock quicker than you can dial 999.

I don’t know what it is about playing at being medics that fascinates kids but there certainly seems to be something.

I am rather ashamed to say that this medical carry case is possibly better equipped than my household first-aid kit – it has absolutely everything in it to ensure that your little physician will be able to diagnose and cure every possible ill and ailment.

There is a stethoscope, a blood pressure monitor with working pump and meter, syringe with moving plunger, reflex hammer – beware your knees that's all I can say!

There's one of those pointy instruments for looking inside ears with (an otoscope if you want to get really technical), a thermometer with moving part to display different temperatures, eye drop bottle and a pill bottle with screw-off lid.

There's also a mirror for viewing throats and tonsils, tongue depressor and name badge with space for writing the name of your little MD!

My mum's a nurse and she's of the view that kits like this can also be used to teach responsibility when it comes to dealing with proper medical equipment and supplies.

Thanks to taswir1 over at HUKD!

Toy Wooden Kitchen £78 @GLTC

by Heidi Scrimgeour in Deals on 31 March, 2010 at 11:00 am

GLTC have some cracking children's toys lurking in the clearance section of their Toy Wooden Kitchen £78 @GLTCwebsite just now.

This wooden country kitchen washing machine is a stylish but practical twist on the usual plastic varieties of toy kitchens and at £39.00 (down from £65.00) it's a pretty reasonable alternative.

The matching sink is the same price, which means both items can be yours for £78.00 instead of the usual £130.

The sink measures 53cmH x 43cmW x 36cmD and comes complete with a checked splashback and a useful, realistic storage cupboard beneath the sink.

If my lads are anything to go by, little boys love playing kitchens just as much as little girls do (and why shouldn't they?) but they also love wrecking things - so wooden versions definitely appeal to me - much sturdier and altogether less likely to be yanked apart and turned into a fort or a pirate ship!

Toy Wooden Kitchen £78 @GLTCThese wooden kitchen toys are definitely at the higher end of the price scale than many of the plastic versions but at these clearance prices they could make a lovely  treat for a birthday boy or girl. Or if you're inclined to start your Christmas shopping early, it's worth picking these up  while they're at this price and putting them away. Who knows, they might even work as bribes for keeping little people on their best behaviour for the rest of the year!
