Little Tikes Cozy Coupe £34.93 @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 19 May, 2012 at 9:00 am

Little Tikes Cozy Coupe £34.93 @ TescoIf you've been looking around for a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe then you'll want to pop over to Tesco where you can pick one up for £34.93, instead of their usual £40ish.

If you've been to any playgroup, creche, nursery, infant's school class in the last 40 years then you'll most likely have seen a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe or two parked up somewhere, or being driven around by young wannabe drivers.

If ever there was a toy that boys and girls alike just love to play with, it's one of these little funky ride-in cars - they have an open and close petrol cap, an 'ignition switch' for super-fast getaways (all of my kids loved turning the key and making VROOM VROOOOOM revving noises straight after) and the front wheels swivel 360 degrees to make parking or getting out of a tight spot a piece of cake.

You can arrange to collect your Little Tikes Cozy Coupe for free in-store at the Tesco of your choice, or you can pay £3 for standard home deliver - I'm liking this new, cheaper delivery option from Tesco, it was about time!

VTech Bounce And Ride Giraffe £17.50 @ Boots

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 30 April, 2012 at 11:00 am

VTech Bounce And Ride Giraffe £17.50 @ BootsBoots are selling this Vtech Bounce and Ride Giraffe for £17.50 instead of £35.

I'm not, as some of you know, a fan of bright plastic toys but I can just about make exceptions for VTech toys - their quality is good and the educational/developmental elements to their toys are worth overlooking the plastic-fantasticness of them.

The VTech Bounce and Ride Giraffe has rather a lot of features and modes of play - five modes of play in fact: Music, Challenge, ABC, Animal Pals and Racing.  The Racing sounds rather fun, you have to pedal as fast as you can to catch up with the other animals on the LCD screen.

Along with the LCD screen there are eight light-up animal buttons which will introduce your little one to numbers, objects and the alphabet.  There are three sing-a-long songs to join in with, eight melodies, a twist, slide and bounce switch, rewarding phrases and all sorts - I think that's enough to be going with, don't you?

You can arrange to collect your VTech Bounce and Ride Giraffe from the Boots store of your choice, but unless you add something else to your order to bring the total over £20 you'll pay £1.95 for the privilege, or you can pay £2.95 and have it delivered to your home instead.

Mookie Scuttlebug £17.73 @ Play

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 3 April, 2012 at 10:00 am

Mookie Scuttlebug £17.73 @ PlayIf you're after a funky little ride-on something that's a little different, then you should take a look at this Mookie Scuttlebug - you can pick up a yellow and black one, from Play, for £17.73 rather than £24.99.

We've reviewed a Mookie Scuttlebug - it was a yellow and black 'bumblebee' one too, in fact, and you can read what we had to say about it HERE

The short and sweet version?  It's AWESOME! It's super cute to look at with its funny little bug-eyes and bumblebee stripes; it has a clever fold-up design so he's very small when not being used and easy to store.

Lara, the mum we sent it to to test for us, had this to say about the folding feature...

""The folding action is probably one of my favourite Scuttlebug features; we’ve managed to fit it into the nappy bag when it wasn’t being used anymore whilst out and about."  I said it then, and I'll say it now - either Lara has the biggest nappy bag on the planet or the Mookie Scuttlebug really does fold up into a very small size.

It can also be ridden around on indoors as well as out, and got a very big thumbs up when one of our mums road (and carpet!) tested it for us.

To buy this Mookie Scuttlebug for £17.73 you'll need to add code EASTODD10 to your basket (just in case you thought I'd got the price wrong) and there are no additional delivery charges to pay with UK orders at Play, so £17.73 is all you'll need to pay for your Mookie Scuttlebug.

Ride-On Tractor £44.99 @ Toys R Us

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 22 March, 2012 at 9:00 am

Ride-On Tractor £44.99 @ Toys R UsCalling all tractor fans!  Toys R Us are selling this ride-on tractor for half price - £44.99 rather than £99.99.

My youngest had a ride-on JCB, if he'd been allowed to have a ride-on tractor as well he would have LOVED one - but there are only so many ride-on toys one little boy can have...right?  No, he didn't think so either.

There are a fair few little toddlers where I live, they have slightly older school-age brothers and sisters and now the weather seems to have taken a turn for the warmer, I see the little ones scooting along or being towed along on their ride-on toys as they accompany their mums and siblings to the school bus stop.

This particular ride-on tractor must be like the John Deere of ride-on tractors because it comes with a quite a few features:

  • Large detachable trailer (very important)
  • Opening bonnet (even more important)
  • Rear hitch pin (don't lose this!)
  • Covered integral fixed wheel chain drive (no getting trousers legs caught)
  • Rugged style wheels (perfect for off-roading)
  • Anti slip pedals (saves a lot of bruising to little shins!)
You can pay £4.95 for home delivery if you wish - alternatively find something REALLY cheap to take you into the 'Spend £50 or more and get free delivery' zone - or you could use the Toys R Us 'Click and Collect' service and go and pick up your ride-on tractor for freeee!

Whirlee Ride-On From Mookie Review

by Luschka van Onselen in Reviews on 24 February, 2012 at 1:00 pm

Whirlee Ride-On From Mookie Review

We were sent the Whirlee Ride-On toy from Mookie and the moment it came out the box, it disappeared into the playroom. My daughter loves it.

The latest ride-on from Mookie is superbly light weight.  The box it arrived in was large, and I was impressed when the postman was carrying in one hand, until I took it off him and almost fell off balance. It’s very light.

The Whirlee requires no assembly, no instructions and no batteries. It comes with stickers already in place, and is literally an unpack and use job. Fabulous.

Chuggington Wilson Ride-On Toy £11.24 @ Wilkinsons

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 20 December, 2011 at 12:00 pm

Chuggington Wilson Ride-On Toy £11.24 @ WilkinsonsIf you have a young Chuggington fan in your family then you might want to take a look at this Chuggington Wilson ride-on toy; Wilkinsons are selling it for £11.24 instead of £14.99.

Your little Chugger will need to be under three years old and/or weigh less than 20kgs which is, actually, quite a lot of weight - it's only just under half of what I weigh, give or take five kgs!

Wilson ride-on comes with working horn and storage compartment which I can guarantee is where you'll find anything that goes missing over Christmas; my youngest son had a similar ride-on toy to this and he absolutely LOVED putting things in there, the thing is he was never very good at taking them out again and putting them back!

I don't know what it is about ride-on toys but all kids gravitate towards them and you can have a devil of a job trying to prise them off them when it's time to go and do something else.

If you want this in time for Christmas then you need to order your Chuggington Wilson ride-on either today or tomorrow - orders placed today will be delivered on Thursday and orders made tomorrow will be delivered on Friday, after that you'll be waiting until Monday 3 January 2012.

Oh, by the way, I know the price on the Wilkos website says £14.99, all the discounts will be applied automatically when you check out.

Trimoto Samurai Electronic Trikes £39.99 @ Toys R Us

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 17 December, 2011 at 1:00 pm

Trimoto Samurai Electronic Trikes £39.99 @ Toys R UsToys R Us have slashed the price of these Trimoto Samurai Electronic Trikes in half - they're now £39.99 instead of £79.99.

If you've got enough space for an electric ride-on toy then one of these 6V Trimoto Samurai trikes could be rather fun for your youngster to go bombing around on on Christmas day morning before lunch.

They're not allowed to be ridden on the road or pavements even though they only have a maximum speed of 2.5 kph - that and the fact they don't have road tax and Toys R Us, or any of the other toy shops that sell pretty much everything, haven't branched out into child road insurance yet.

However, for riding around the garden or driveways long enough then this would be the sort of thing I'd have loved as a child, and would probably have given my mother more than one heart-stopping moment.

There's no reverse gear, you can only go forward, so be prepared for a bit of picking up the trike and turning it round when your child has driven into something.

The ride time on a fully charged battery is about 50 minutes and is controlled by a foot accelerator and has an automatic brake.

You can collect your Trimoto Samurai electronic trike for free from your local Toys R Us, otherwise delivery will cost you £4.95.

Wooden Tricycle £19.54 @ Little Green Earthlets

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 12 December, 2011 at 11:00 am

Wooden Tricycle £19.54 @ Little Green EarthletsOooh, I do love a good wooden tricycle; I love them even more when they're less than £20 - this wooden tricycle is £19.54 (it's original price was £39.95) and you'll need to add on £3.95 for delivery.

There's just something a little bit special about wooden toys, in my opinion.  They're simple, elegant and timeless; there's rarely a hint of garish neon paint and I would go for wooden toys over plastic wherever possible.

Of course you can't leave a wooden tricycle out in the rain but, quite frankly, you shouldn't be leaving any toys out in the rain!  This particular wooden tricycle is made from beech, measures 51cm x 36cm and is painted in plain, but bright, red, yellow and blue.

As for age suitability, well there's no guidance on the Little Green Earthlets site so you'll have to use your judgement and common sense.  It's all going to depend on how quickly your baby can sit and hold on to something without falling off!

I've tried to find out the last date for Christmas delivery for you, but there's nothing - so if you need to wait a few days before you can order this wooden tricycle then you might want to give them a quick ring and find out; here's the number for you 01435 811555.

Electric Ride-On Toy Go Kart £39.99 @ Maplin

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 16 November, 2011 at 9:00 am

Electric Ride-On Toy Go Kart £39.99 @ MaplinI can guarantee this electric ride-on toy go kart will earn you more parental brownie points than you could ever wish for, if you put it under the Christmas tree for your little boy in just 38 days time.

Both my boys would have loved this electric ride-on go kart - in fact, so would my daughter as she's never been a huge fan of girly pink versions of things - and most of Christmas day would have been spent 0utside with them 'racing' up and down the driveway.

This electric go kart won't be breaking any speed limits any time soon, as it only goes two miles per hour, it does have a racing bucket seat though and a paint job that looks suspiciously like the Benetton F1 racing colours of yesteryear (back in the days when Michael Schumacher used to drive for them - I'm showing my F1 age now!).

It's battery operated - thankfully, with a more substantial battery (6v 7Ah SLA battery, if that means anything to you!) than your average AAs.  Can you imagine the number of AA batteries it would take to power an electric ride-on go kart!?

The usual price for this electric go kart is £69.99; Maplin are selling it for £39.99 and this price is in place until 24 December - that's for all the people who leave their Christmas shopping until the VERY last minute!

Space Cadet Trike £39.99 @ Toys R Us

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 17 August, 2011 at 9:00 am

Space Cadet Trike £39.99 @ Toys R UsToys R Us are selling this Space Cadet trike, with parent handle, for half price; £39.99 instead of £79.99.

This little Space Cadets trike is suitable for little people up to aged three, i is likely to be their first foray into the world of pedal power and I'm sure they'll love it.

I loved my first bike (I don't remember what I had before then, but I'm reliably informed that I often had to be surgically removed from it at the end of the day) and all my children loved pedalling along on their first trikes too.

Until young legs are strong enough to pedal on their own, it can all be a bit tricky.  Then when they CAN pedal along by themselves, it can all get a bit scary as they head for road seemingly oblivious to your cries of, "STOP!!"

Hurrah, then, for the parent handle!

It allows you to push them along when they need a helping hand and acts as a brake when you need to retain some sort of control.

The Space Cadet trike also has a rear tipper for putting things in and then tipping them out of - my youngest son would have had hours of fun with that alone.

You can click, reserve and pay for your Space Cadets trike in-store OR, you can £4.95 for home delivery.

Happy Space Cadet Triking!

Little Tikes My First Cozy Coupe Push-Along And Ride-On £14.99 @ Argos

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 15 August, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Little Tikes My First Cozy Coupe Push-Along And Ride-On £14.99 @ Argos

The My First Cozy Coupe Push-Along And Ride-On from Little Tikes is currently on offer for £14.99 at Argos, which is a lovely 50% off the original price.

The Little Tikes My First Cozy Coupe Push-Along And Ride-On toy is a versatile toy that should last a while as your child’s abilities change, and at half price, definitely looks like a good buy.

It has something called a ‘telescoping frame’ and I honestly don’t know what that means, but on the up side, it changes easily from a push behind walker to foot-to-floor ride-on.

There’s a parent controlled button which safely locks the product in place in both modes to keep the little ones safe. There’s also storage space under the hood, making that a convenient space to keep things.

There’s a free moving steering wheel to help kidlets think they’re in charge, with a squeaker horn for added authenticity. The Coupe does require 2 AA batteries, but I’m not really sure what for – perhaps the horn?

Either way, the Coupe is suitable from 9 months old, and designed in the familiar ‘Cozy Coupe’ style.

Chuggington Wilson Ride-On £12.74 @ Mothercare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 5 August, 2011 at 11:00 am

Chuggington Wilson Ride-On £12.74 @ MothercareCalling all Chuggington fans!!

You can pick up a Chuggington Wilson ride-on toy from Mothercare for just £12.74 instead of £35.00 at the moment.

I don't know what it is about ride-on toys, but all kids seem to love them!

This Chuggington Wilson ride-on has to be my deal of the day - you really can't go wrong with him for £12.74.

The published price on the website is £14.99; enter code S4PN at the checkout and a further 15% will be deducted bringing it down to £12.74.

Ride-on Wilson has a squeaky horn and the seat lifts up to reveal 'hidden' storage - this is where you should look first when you can't find something after you've bought one, my youngest used to stash all sorts of things in his Fireman Sam ride-on!

You'll need to do a tiny bit of self-assembly on Wilson, just fitting his wheels and steering wheel; he's suitable for little riders aged 12 months or older and who weigh less than 25kgs.

I think he's super awesome and will make any young Chuggington fan very happy.

Rocking Moped And Harley Davidson

by Sarah Macdonald in Misc on 6 July, 2011 at 10:00 am

Rocking Moped And Harley DavidsonOH now THIS is just too cool - rocking mopeds and motorbikes!

Forget rocking horses, rocking reindeers or any other cutesy-schmootzy animal that has been stuffed, had a saddle put on their back and their feet screwed to rockers! The future is bikes and mopeds!

For a girl who grew up around bikes and anything else motorsport these are a dream come true - there's even a pink moped for little girly biker chicks; awesome.

I can't find any details on cost but, quite frankly, I don't care as they're too fabulous to be concerned with such minor details.

I CAN tell you, however, that they're suitable for little rockers aged between one and three years old and you can buy them from any of the shops listed HERE.

ROCK ON!

Tinga Tinga Tales Trike £22.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 30 June, 2011 at 11:00 am

Tinga Tinga Tales Trike £22.99 @ ArgosArgos have taken £10 off this Tinga Tinga Tales trike, making it £22.99 instead of £32.99.

As your kids get older you lose touch with all the awesome young kiddies programmes, so I'd never heard of Tinga Tinga Tales before I came across this Tinga Tinga Tales trike on sale in Argos.

I don't like not knowing things so I asked my good friend Google to help me out; Tinga Tinga Tales sounds COOL, I might even have to have to see if I can 'accidentally' find myself in the right place at the right time to watch an episode or two.

Tinga Tinga Tales are based on African folk tales and aimed at 4- to 6-year olds; there were 52 episodes made in total.

So the Tinga Tinga Tales trike - well what can I tell you about a trike that you don't already know?

It has three wheels, it has two pedals - one attached to each side of the front wheel - and when you're little they're pretty awesome!

This one has a parent pole on the back, which is removeable, so you can help your child along with the forward motion bit until their legs get strong enough to pedal it along on their own.

You can click and reserve a Tinga Tinga Tales trike and collect it from Argos for free, or you can pay them £5.95 to deliver it to your house.

Happy Tinga Tinga Triking!

Toy Story Ride On Toy £14.97 @ Asda

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 9 June, 2011 at 11:00 am

Toy Story Ride On Toy £14.97 @ AsdaOh this is cute - this Toy Story ride-on toy is £14.97, it's currently £24.99 at Play and Amazon.

I love simple toys like this; there's a lot to be said for good old-fashioned ride-on fun.

This Toy Story ride-on toy isn't quite as retro so as to not require batteries because it, of course, has light and sound effects.

It plays music, makes realistic engine and horn sounds (really? Realistic engine sounds...I'd be impressed if they were) along with colourful rotating gears, sliding characters and a removeable toy phone.

Whilst your youngster might think they're just having fun on their Toy Story ride-on toy, the rotating gears, sliding gears and buttons on the phone are helping to develop their fine motor skills.

Sitting and scooting along on it will be improving their sense of balance and develop strong and healthy leg muscles;  and YOU thought it was just another Toy Story toy too.

The Toy Story ride-on toy is suitable for little people aged between 12 months and 3 years; the lights and sounds will need 2AA batteries to run and they are included; yippeee, I do dislike it when batteries aren't included.

Pink Ride On Car £29.99 @ Play

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 26 May, 2011 at 9:00 am

Pink Ride On Car £29.99 @ PlayIf you have a little girl racer in your family then you might like to have a look at this pink ride on car - Play are selling it for £29.99 instead of £69.99, a nice 'little' saving of 57% for you.

Cars for girls, now that's what I like to see!

Although I'm not a fan of pink this pink ride on car isn't that offensive Barbie pink colour, it's much more of a subtle pretty pink.

This cute little pink ride on car isn't plastic either, it's made from MDF.

It has a steering wheel (handy for a car really) and has a working horn too.  There's a little parcel shelf at the back so your little girly driver can take things with her on driving outings.

It can be used indoors and outside but, obviously, don't leave it outside otherwise it will start to suffer from the MDF version of rust.

This pink ride on car also has an impact resistant plastic bumper; if you're little girl racer's driving skills still need a bit of refining at least your furniture isn't going to pay the price.

It's suitable for little girls aged two years or over and also comes with Daisy dog.

SpongeBob SquarePants Scooter £8.98 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 8 May, 2011 at 8:00 am

SpongeBob SquarePants Scooter £8.98 @ AmazonAmazon are selling this SpongeBob Squarepants scooter for £8.98 (for the moment anyway) instead of £19.99.

Now, I wrote about a Spongebob scooter last month, but this is a DIFFERENT one - that one was a for littlies who are just beginning their scooting career, this one is for scooters who've been scooting for a while and need/want something a little more grown up.

I'm not sure if Spongebob Squarepants constitutes 'grown up' but, perhaps, with the massive cult student following he has, he DOES...what do I know, I'm just the writer!

So THIS Spongebob scooter has three adjustable handle heights, so it will continue to grow with your child as they shoot up; they have a habit of doing that just as you buy them something for their current size.

The whole handle folds down and the hand grips fold in too, making it perfect for throwing in the boot of the car for away-from-home scooting and space saving when it's not being scooted on.

It also has a rear brake foot brake for those moments when you realise the hill was steeper than it looked and you're going W A Y too fast - do you remember that feeling? Thrilling, but scary as hell!

And of course, being a Spongebob Sqaurepants scooter it's plastered in Spongebob Squarepants images, it would be a bit random otherwise really.

Free delivery with the SuperSaver option which generally takes three to five days.

Fisher Price Ride-On Musical Pony £24.99 @ Toys R Us

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 2 May, 2011 at 10:00 am

Fisher Price Ride-On Musical Pony £24.99 @ Toys R UsToys R Us are currently selling this Fisher Price Ride-On Musical Pony for half price; £24.99 instead of £49.99.

I've always loved horses; I started riding real ones when I was four years old and once they get under your skin you'll love them for life - just a little word of warning to any parents who decide to buy their little girly a Fisher Price Ride-On musical pony.

It's very pink so unless you don't mind mixing boys with pink and dolls, it's unlikely to be suitable for young lads.

So for little girls aged 12 months and older this Fisher Price ride-on musical pony is going to be great - it has a soft mane and tail and plays fun sounds and music.

Underneath all the pink 'fluff' and girliness this is excellent for your baby's development as the Fisher Price ride-on musical pony encourages role play, teaches cause and effect and also helps to develop fine motor skills.

It also comes with a doll that is soft, huggable and machine washable and she fits easily into the bucket on the front of the pony so she can come along for pony rides too.

There are lots of features for your little one to explore and you can choose to collect it in-store for free or pay £4.95 for standard delivery if your total spend is going to be less than £50.

Ride-On Tractor And Trailer £49.99 @ Toys R Us

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 1 May, 2011 at 9:00 am

Ride-On Tractor And Trailer £49.99 @ Toys R UsToys R Us are selling this rather fabulous ride-on tractor and trailer for half price - it's now £49.99 instead of £99.99.

My youngest had a JCB version of this ride-on tractor and trailer and he absolutely loved it.

Before he was strong enough to pedal it himself we used to attach a horses long lunge rein to it and pull him along, ahhhh fond memories.

One of the things he loved most was filling up the trailer with 'stuff' to bring home - the amount of general woodland junk we accumulated whilst out on tractor/JCB adventures was quite amazing.

This ride-on tractor has something that his JCB didn't - an opening bonnet!

It also has a rear hitch pin for attaching/detaching the trailer, anti-slip pedals and the chain that drives the wheels is fully enclosed so there's no danger of little fingers, or trouser legs, getting caught up in it. It also has big chunky wheels like any self-respecting ride-on tractor and trailer should.

It's available for both in-store collection or home delivery, which will STILL cost you £4.95 because you're 1 pence under the 'Spend over £50 and get free delivery' limit.

Sponge Bob Square Pants Scooter £9.22 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 19 April, 2011 at 8:00 am

Sponge Bob Square Pants Scooter £9.22 @ Amazon

Amazon are currently selling this Sponge Bob Square Pants Three Wheel Scooter for £9.22 instead of £19.99.

Sponge Bob Square Pants gives me nightmares; a fair few years ago now, I drove my daughter and her friends into town and Sponge Bob was the 'man' of the moment.  They sang the theme tune ALL the way from home into town, 25 minutes of complete and utter Sponge Bob hell!

I hope you never have to endure such torture and the worst that happens is you have to spend endless hours outside with your child because they want to scoot on their Sponge Bob Square Pants three wheel scooter.

I much prefer three wheel scooters to those inline ones with wheels so tiny you can barely see them.

The Sponge Bob Square Pants scooter is nice and stable and easy for younger riders to enjoy, as well as enjoying all their favourite square dude characters which are plastered ALL over it - I loved things decorated with my favourite characters when I was a kid.

A quick word to the wise, there aren't that many of these Sponge Bob Square Pants scooters left in stock - so if you want one, ORDER one or you run the risk of missing out.
