Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Police Car £39.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 4 May, 2013 at 9:00 am

Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Police Car £39.99 @ Amazon HOW cool is this Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Police Car?!! My goodness, it's so cool I almost want one myself.  Not only is it cool, the price is rather awesome too (for the moment at least) - £39.99 rather than £54.99.

If you have more than one child then having an ordinary Little Tikes Cozy Coupe and adding a Police Car to your Cozy Coupe collection will allow for endless hours of playing Cozy Coupe cops and robbers!

I used to play cops and robbers with all the kids that lived in my street when I was little (they were the days when you could play outside ALL day and no one ever worried about where you were and whether or not you were safe - GOOD old days, that's what they're called!), we used to play on our bikes and our bells were the sirens.

It was lots of fun, and I reckon a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe version would be just as much fun.  If you don't know anything about Cozy Coupes at all, WHERE have you been for the last 30+ years?! Let's just say they are one of the most enduring and iconic kiddie ride-in toys ever to have graced the toy market, and every single child loves them.

Trust me, you won't go wrong with a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe of any variety - police car or otherwise.

Little Tikes Cosy Coupe £34.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 22 April, 2013 at 9:00 am

Little Tikes Cosy Coupe £34.99 @ AmazonI'm getting dead bored writing about the Little Tikes Cosy Coupe - I've lost count how many times it's been featured as a deal, but Amazon are selling the classic red and yellow version for £34.99 instead of £54.99.

The thing with the Little Tikes Cosy Coupe is this: kids LOVE them! If there's a Little Tikes Cosy Coupe parked up somewhere where there are young wannabe drivers, you can guarantee it won't be parked for long.  And if there's more than one of them there's bound to be tears over who gets the keys.

It features an open and close petrol cap, an 'ignition switch' for super-fast getaways (all of my kids loved turning the key and making VROOM VROOOOOM revving noises straight after) and it's front wheels swivel 360 degrees to make parking or getting out of a tight spot a breeze - a feature I could really do with on my car!

All of the usual Amazon deals apply here, so you can have it delivered to you for free if you're happy to wait a few days, or you can hand over a few extra pounds and have it delivered faster.

Octonauts My 1st Ride On £7.39 @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 13 April, 2013 at 11:00 am

Octonauts My 1st Ride On £7.39 @ Amazon

Amazon are selling the Octonauts My 1st Ride On for £7.39, reduced from £24.99.

I should start by saying that there are really mixed reviews on this product. Some seem to love it, but others, not so much, with complaints such as the wheels falling off when there's been 'extreme sports'.

The features include a fun squeaker and phone - which the kids love, for some reason. The seat opens for storage - another much loved feature of toys by my clan. There's a rear backrest for support, and to prevent falling off I suppose.

It does have a front and rear anti-tip feature, which is interesting. I wonder how that features if the wheels come off?

As I said, some love this, some don't, and for the price, it's pretty much up to you to decide if the falling off risk is worth it.

Bumblebee Rocking Animal Chair £29.99 @ Kiddicare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 6 April, 2013 at 12:00 pm

Bumblebee Rocking Animal Chair £29.99 @ KiddicareOhhhh, I love the look of this Bumblebee Rocking Animal Chair!  Kiddicare are selling them for £29.99 instead of their full £90.

Tell me this little chap is not CUTE (he looks like a chap don't you think?).  He's brightly coloured, has a friendly little face and looks seriously comfy - if they had a bigger version for grown-ups you can guarantee they'd have them in the funky 'staff play spaces' at Google and Facebook!

The seat offers a lot of support for younger riders - the minimum age is 9 months and that's with adult supervision - and I can imagine they'd want to spend more than plenty of hours rocking away with their bumblebee friend.

The frame is made from wood and is good and sturdy.  I just think this Bumblebee Rocking Animal Chair is super, slightly quirky and makes a nice change from the usual rocking toys that are on the market; I'm almost disappointed I don't have anyone to buy him for.

Delivery is free and you can even choose the hour of the day you'd like your Bumblebee Rocking Animal Chair delivered on; awesome.

Razor Flashrider 360 Caster Trike £54.79 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 27 March, 2013 at 9:00 am

Razor Flashrider 360 Caster Trike £54.79 @ AmazonCheck out this Razor Flashrider 360 trike - if it's not the coolest, and most weird looking, trike you've ever seen, then I want to see what is!  It's up for grabs at Amazon for £54.79, for the moment at least, instead of its whopping full price of £129.99.

This Razor Flashrider 360 is just too cool - I'd have loved messing around on one when I was a kid!  The front wheel is designed to never go flat (hurrah!) and the rear wheels are castor wheels, which allows your young flashrider to spin it 360 degrees.  If you've ever seen kids of a certain age playing on bikes or scooters, you'll know how much they love pulling 360 manoeuvres.

But not only does the Razor Flashrider 360 look cool, and allow you to pull some cool moves, it also has a 'spark' feature. Yes, that's right, you can make your Flashrider emit sparks as you spin round.

If you can't quite get your head around that, CLICK HERE to watch a video that will make everything clear.

Here are some reviews:

This is a brilliant thing: a go-kart, really, but with castors to the rear, thus encouraging 360-degree spins. And the thing that generates sparks is terrific, especially in the dusk of a winter's evening!

If they did an adult one I would buy it straight away; lots of fun, daughter loves this, endless hours of fun

Mega Bloks Race Car Whirl And Twirl £9.17 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 19 March, 2013 at 9:00 am

Mega Bloks Race Car Whirl And Twirl £9.17 @ AmazonIf you whirl over to Amazon, you'll be able to grab a Mega Bloks Race Car Whirl and Twirl for £9.17, rather than its original £24.99.

Around the middle of last month I told you about the ladybird version of this Mega Bloks Race Car Whirl and Twirl - the race car, then, wasn't discounted as much as the lady bird version, but I've been keeping an eye on it and it's come down in price now; awesome.

In case you missed my spiel about the previous Whirl n Twirl, here's a quick recap:

The Mega Bloks Whirl and Twirls are funky little ride-on toys for youngsters aged between 18 and 36 months.  They won't take up  loads of room in your home - some ride-on toys can be enormous! - as they're nice and compact, which makes them easy to bung in the boot of the car and take out and about with you too.

They've been built to withstand the rough and tumble that comes with toddler territory and their caster wheels underneath means it can be turned on a sixpence (as the popular saying goes) in any direction.

All of the usual Amazon delivery options are available to you - free if you don't mind waiting a few days, or you can lob Amazon a couple of extra quid so they'll drop your Mega Bloks Race Car Whirl and Twirl sooner.

Rocking Horses From £21.99 @ Kiddicare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 8 March, 2013 at 9:00 am

Rocking Horses From £21.99 @ KiddicareIf you're in the market for a rocking horse then you need to gallop over to Kiddicare  (sorry, I'm in cheesy pun mode today!) and take a look at the rocking horses they've got on special offer.

Rocking horses are flippin' expensive you know! Even the cheapest of the cheap ones stray close to the £100 mark, let alone the insanely priced ones that sell for thousands of pounds - they have to be collectors items surely..?  I'd be rather reluctant to let the kids play on it for that sort of money!

I love anything to do with horses (they are my sanctuary) and have very fond memories of the two HUGE (in my memory at least) rocking horses that I used to ride when I went to nursery. I never had one at home though, as they were expensive creatures even back then in the 'old days'.

REJOICE, then, at the fab price of these rocking horses over at Kiddicare: their original prices were £89.99, but now they're either £21.99 or £25.99 - it all depends on which colour and 'breed' you buy.  You can go for the traditional look, or choose a more modern type, or even 'Daniel the Donkey' - who I think is rather cute!

Neither of them fall into the free delivery on all orders over £29.99 category - if there's something else you need then you could always tip your order over that amount, otherwise you'll need to pay for delivery.

Millhouse Police Car Wooden Rocker £21.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 1 March, 2013 at 9:00 am

Millhouse Police Car Wooden Rocker £21.99 @ AmazonIf you have a budding law enforcer on your hands, then you might want to consider furthering cementing their ambitions by buying them this Millhouse Police Car wooden rocker!  Amazon have reduced their price down to £21.99 from a whopping £65.

You're going to have to speed along to get one though, as it looks like they're going out of stock faster than you can say, "STOP! In the name of the law!"

You can't beat a good ride-on rocking toy, especially if it's made from wood - wooden toys just feel so much nicer than plastic-fantastic ones, don't you think?

This particular Police Car wooden rocker is made in the UK, from wood from sustainable sources and is pained with child-friendly paint.  It features hand printed police graphics, has a black seat and black spinning wheels, along with a smooth rocking motion.

All of the usual Amazon delivery options are available to you, and I'm sure you know what they are by now.

Brio Rock-On Rocker £7.79 @ Toys R Us Online

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 21 February, 2013 at 11:00 am

Brio Rock-On Rocker £7.79 @ Toys R Us Online

Toys R Us Online are selling this Brio Rock-On Rocker for £7.79, rather than £12.99 (last year, The Works claimed this had an rrp of £49.99!).

If you are a fan of the more abstract type of toy, then this Brio Rock-On Rocker may just be the alternative 'rocking horse'  you've been looking for.  If you want something with eyes, a mane, legs and a tail, that makes 'realistic' horsey noises too, then you're out of luck - this most definitely will not be for you.

I have to say...I rather like it!  It's quirky and different and I'm all for that sometimes.  I know I absolutely wouldn't part with too much money for it, but £7.79 seems reasonable enough.

It's made from wood (LOVE wooden toys!) and the seat is fabric covered.  There are a few reviews which 'tell it how it is' - there are plenty of positive points made, with a few others that you will want to watch out for:

Good value for money and a very sturdy construction. The only criticism is that there is nowhere for them to rest their feet. Hence the feet could get trapped under the rocker

We have a variety of BRIO products and are never disappointed by the quality. This is no exception. We purchased this as a gift for our 8 mo. old nephew. He needs supervision/some assistance at this age to use it, but we anticipate he will be able to sit on it independently and rock it himself within the next few months.

The rocker came assembled, and it is very sturdy. The only "negative" comment we've heard about it is whether or not it would be better if it had a place for children to rest their feet whilst rocking.

This is a great quality rocker from Brio! I am so impressed with this especially for the cost

The Brio Rock-On Rocker is suitable for young abstract riders aged 12 months or over, and you're going to have to add on an additional £4.95 for delivery as it's not available to collect.

Mega Bloks LadyBird Whirl N Twirl £10.05 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 16 February, 2013 at 9:00 am

Mega Bloks LadyBird Whirl N Twirl £10.05 @ AmazonAmazon are selling this Mega Bloks LadyBird Whirl n Twirl for £10.05, when its usual full price is £24.99.

This Mega Bloks LadyBird Whirl n Twirl looks like a rather cute ride-on toy for little ones aged between 18 and 36 months.  It's compact, so won't take up a ton of room in your house (unlike some ride-on toys, which can be enormous) and it's been built to withstand the rough and tumble that cannot be avoided with little ones.

It has caster wheels underneath which means it can be turned in any direction at any time - talk about 360 degree maneuverability! - and means that your very young youngster can get to grips with going the right way without getting stuck when they get it wrong.

There's a Mega Bloks Racing Car Whirl n Twirl too - this is its LINK - but it'll cost you £12.11.  Still, it's still less than half price, which can't be bad.

All of the usual Amazon delivery options are available to you - I'm sure you know what they are by now, and if you don't...well, they're pretty easy to find and work out: the SuperSaver option saves you money as it's free, and the rest cost you additional cash.

Little Tikes Sports Coupe £14.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 26 January, 2013 at 12:00 pm

Little Tikes Sports Coupe £14.99 @ ArgosIf the Little Tikes Cosy Coupe is just not sporty enough for your young petrol head, then perhaps they'll approve of this Little Tikes Sports Coupe instead!  I'm pretty sure you'll  approve of its £14.99 discounted price tag, rather than the full price one of £24.99.

The Little Tikes Sports Coupe is definitely more my cup of tea than the more boring family car styling of the Cosy Coupe - with the Little Tikes Sports Coupe you'll be able to feel the sun on your face and the wind in your hair as you scoot along on your sporty wheels!

It's suitable for little ones aged 12 months and older and has a maximum weight limit of 23kg - which isn't insignificant.

It's not available for home delivery, so you're going to have to do some scouting around for Argos stores that have a Little Tikes Sports Coupe in stock, should your nearest one not - if you've not used www.icheckstock.co.uk before then you should, it makes searching around Argos shops much easier and less painful.

Little Tikes Princess Coupe £31.99 @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 14 December, 2012 at 10:00 am

Little Tikes Princess Coupe £31.99 @ TescoIf you're stuck for a bigger pressie for your little princess, then how about this Little Tikes Princess Coupe?  You can pick one up from Tesco for £31.99, rather than £39.99.

This is a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe in pastel pink and blue colours for girls who like their cars to look girly - all it needs is a fluffy pink steering wheel cover and it would look exactly like my niece's mum's car (I kid you not!).

These Little Tikes ride-in cars have been around for 40 years and I've yet to come across a child who doesn't LOVE them, or an adult who had one who doesn't have fond memories of them - they are rather great!

If ever there was a toy that boys and girls alike just love to play with, it's one of these little funky ride-in cars - they have an open and close petrol cap, an 'ignition switch' for super-fast getaways (all of my kids loved turning the key and making VROOM VROOOOOM revving noises straight after) and the front wheels swivel 360 degrees to make parking or getting out of a tight spot a piece of cake.

The quickest, and cheapest, way to get your hands on your Little Tikes Princess Coupe car is to arrange to collect it in-store; if you really can't get there though, then home delivery is your other option, standard will cost you an additional £3, and express £5.95 though.

Baby Weavers Rocking Animals Rocking Toys £39.90 @ Kiddicare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 26 November, 2012 at 10:00 am

Baby Weavers Rocking Animals Rocking Toys £39.90 @ Kiddicare

I've just spent ages looking at all the different Baby Weavers Rocking Animal rocking toys on offer over at Kiddicare!

They're all the same price - £39.90 instead of £90 - so you can narrow the field down by price first, you just have to go with whichever one you think will be the most liked by whomever you're buying it for!

I have a soft spot for rocking toys and if they made them for grown ups, I'd HAVE one!  There's something very soothing about rocking backwards and forwards and when you're little, something extra great about the 'rocking thing' being in the guise of an animal which you can ride.

You can choose from a Rocking Animal dog, a blue pony (original, I thought!), or a green frog; I thought he was rather cute until I discovered the Rocking Animal giraffe - I've been smitten with giraffes ever since I got up close and personal with one in Africa last year!

There's also an elephant (I'm very fond of those too), a ladybird, a bear, a bumblebee and a teddy - now you can see where it gets tricky to make a choice! - and a few other ones on top of all those.

They're soft and plush and padded; their frames are wooden and they're suitable for little rockers aged nine months or older.

There's nothing extra to pay for delivery of your rocking animal, so £39.90 is going to be your total investment; hurrah!

Happy rocking!

Motorbike Or Cow Toddler Rocker £4.98 @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 13 November, 2012 at 12:00 pm

Motorbike Or Cow Toddler Rocker £4.98 @ TescoIf you're after a cheap and cheerful toddler rocker then look no further than here - Tesco are selling either a red motorbike or white cow rocker for £4.98, their usual prices are £6.98.

Now I say 'look no further', but if you want to be able to choose between the motorbike and the cow then you're going to have to keep looking - I have no idea why Tesco aren't giving the choice between the two, it's not that difficult a feature to enable.  It just strikes me as being lazy BUT, it is what it is and there's nothing we can do about it.

Kids love to rock on see-saw type things and you can pay large amounts for rockers made from wood, padded out so your child can ride a cutesy stuffed animal character that makes 'fun animal sounds', OR you can keep it low-key and simple and go for something super cheap like these particular rockers.

They're not going to have anyone oohing and ahhhing over them, but it's only the grown-ups who 'judge' these things  - I've learned that young kiddies just don't care how much their rocking something cost, they just want to ROCK and whether the rocker cost you £50 or £5...well, who cares!

Really don't bother having this delivered to your home, it'll just cost you an additional £3.95 at least - arrange to collect it for free, in-store, instead.

My First Rocking Pony £20 @ Asda Direct

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 8 October, 2012 at 11:00 am

My First Rocking Pony £20 @ Asda DirectAsda are selling this My First Rocking Pony for £20, rather than its normal full price of £29.97.

Click HERE to take a look at the My First Rocking Pony *

I love rocking ride on toys - if I was small to get away with riding them still, you'd probably find me rocking away when I thought no one was watching.

I've yet to come across any child who doesn't like riding on toys like this My First Rocking Pony either; I'm particularly impressed with this one as his (he looks like a 'he') colouring is very gender neutral - no frilly pink manes HERE, thank you!

He's got a soft body, a comfy saddle to sit on and current owners have nothing but praise and effusive things to say about him...

"...It's soft and also very cute, we paid the same for a cheap piece of plastic pink tat from Argos (and it was a fisher-price one as-well :-O). Never again, if you want a rocking horse buy this one!"

And, "Just the Cutest Little Rocking House for my little boys 1st Christmas, just the right size (without taking over the whole living room) Such good quality and nice and soft."

You can arrange to collect your My First Rocking Pony, for free, from your local Asda store, or you can pay £2.95 for standard delivery and have him dropped off to your door within three to five working days.

Fisher Price Big Action Digger Ride On £29.73 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 20 August, 2012 at 9:00 am

Fisher Price Big Action Digger Ride On £29.73 @ AmazonAmazon are selling this Fisher Price Big Action Digger ride-on for £29.73 instead of £59.99.

My youngest son, up until a couple of years ago, was completely obsessed with JCBs in all their various guises - dump trucks, diggers, tractors, if it had JCB written on it then you can guarantee he'd be able to tell you all about it.

He seems to have grown out of that now, but he would have loved this Fisher Price Big Action Digger ride-on toy; he had something similar but it wasn't quite like this one.

His had pedals, a bucket at the front rather than a scoop, and it also had a trailer hitched to the back for carrying all the junk exciting things he found whilst we were out and about towing him along on his JCB ride-on - before he was old enough/strong enough to pedal for himself, we'd attach a long lunge rein to the front and pull him along; he loved it.

This Fisher Price Big Action Digger ride-on doesn't have any pedals, so it'll need to be scooted on, and it doesn't have a trailer; however, it does have a proper working scoop with controls to operate it and it makes realistic (apparently) digger noises too.

You'll need to have three AA batteries at the ready because they're not included (BOOOO!) but, on the plus side, your Fisher Price Big Action Digger ride-on comes in certified frustration free packaging (HURRAH!).

Mookie Moose Mountain Trunk The Elephant Ride-On Toy £21.23 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 13 August, 2012 at 10:00 am

Mookie Moose Mountain Trunk The Elephant Ride-On Toy £21.23 @ AmazonSo, the full title of this ride-on toy is: Mookie Moose Mountain Trunk the Elephant Ride-On and Lil' Squirt Pull-along!  That has to win the prize for the longest name of any ride-on toy EVER and Amazon are selling it for £21.23 instead of £29.99.

If you really like the look of Mountain Trunk the Elephant and his pull-along pal, Lil' Squirt then I suggest you add him to your basket now - there aren't that many of him left, but he's too cute to not tell you about.

Maybe I'm a little biased because I absolutely ADORE elephants - I'll be spending some time with elephants this year for my birthday in the middle of the South African bush, I'm only just MASSIVELY excited about that!

I'm also a big fan of simple ride-on toys (any kind of simple toy really) that can just be played with for fun; whilst I like educational toys, there's a lot to be said for those which have no academic learning attached to them, as is the case with Mountain Trunk the Elephant - you just sit on him, scoot and GO!

Scuttlebugs £19.44 @ Debenhams

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 25 May, 2012 at 9:00 am

Scuttlebugs £19.44 @ DebenhamsIf you've been on the prowl for a Mookie Scuttlebug deal then today is your lucky day - Debenhams are currently selling three different Mookie Scuttlebugs for £19.44, rather than £27 (Amazon are currently selling for around the £24 mark).

What's NOT to love about the Mookie Scuttlebug?  It's cute looking without being so 'cutesy' that boys will hate them; they're great for scooting (or scuttling) around on, it can be used indoors without fear of damaging hard floors, outdoors anywhere you like (apart from rough terrain obviously, that could be a little tricky) AND it folds up to make it nice and easy to take out and about and store.

We've reviewed the Mookie Scuttlebug here on PlayPennies - if you want to read the entire review, click HERE

If you don't, here's a snippet that will give you the general gist...

"Our Scuttlebug is really TOO cute!  The folding action is probably one of my favourite Scuttlebug features; we’ve managed to fit it into the nappy bag when it wasn’t being used anymore whilst out and about.

The wheels are made of a special soft material which makes for quite a quiet ride in the house," our reviewer explained, "I allowed my daughter to ride it in the house because it’s a good height so nothing gets knocked over and it really is quiet and doesn’t cause marks or scratches on the floor."

The price on the Debenhams website is £21.60, just add this code to your basket - CB27 - to drop it down to £19.44.

Little Tikes Cozy Coupe £34.93 @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 19 May, 2012 at 9:00 am

Little Tikes Cozy Coupe £34.93 @ TescoIf you've been looking around for a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe then you'll want to pop over to Tesco where you can pick one up for £34.93, instead of their usual £40ish.

If you've been to any playgroup, creche, nursery, infant's school class in the last 40 years then you'll most likely have seen a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe or two parked up somewhere, or being driven around by young wannabe drivers.

You can arrange to collect your Little Tikes Cozy Coupe for free in-store at the Tesco of your choice, or you can pay £3 for standard home deliver - I'm liking this new, cheaper delivery option from Tesco, it was about time!

VTech Bounce And Ride Giraffe £17.50 @ Boots

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 30 April, 2012 at 11:00 am

VTech Bounce And Ride Giraffe £17.50 @ BootsBoots are selling this Vtech Bounce and Ride Giraffe for £17.50 instead of £35.

I'm not, as some of you know, a fan of bright plastic toys but I can just about make exceptions for VTech toys - their quality is good and the educational/developmental elements to their toys are worth overlooking the plastic-fantasticness of them.

The VTech Bounce and Ride Giraffe has rather a lot of features and modes of play - five modes of play in fact: Music, Challenge, ABC, Animal Pals and Racing.  The Racing sounds rather fun, you have to pedal as fast as you can to catch up with the other animals on the LCD screen.

Along with the LCD screen there are eight light-up animal buttons which will introduce your little one to numbers, objects and the alphabet.  There are three sing-a-long songs to join in with, eight melodies, a twist, slide and bounce switch, rewarding phrases and all sorts - I think that's enough to be going with, don't you?

You can arrange to collect your VTech Bounce and Ride Giraffe from the Boots store of your choice, but unless you add something else to your order to bring the total over £20 you'll pay £1.95 for the privilege, or you can pay £2.95 and have it delivered to your home instead.
