Winnie The Pooh Complete Book Collection £20 @ The Book People

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 24 September, 2011 at 12:00 pm

Winnie The Pooh Complete Book Collection £20 @ The Book PeopleThis Winnie the Pooh Complete Book Collection is a favourite of ours, here at PlayPennies.  It varies in price through the course of the year and this time it's yours for £2o, plus £1.95 for delivery.

The list price for this Winnie the Pooh book collection is £149.99. I'm really not sure about that, you know; I adore books and I've been known to pay a fair bit of money for them, when they're worth it.

But £149.99?  That just seems a little overpriced to me, even if it is a price that we'll never have to pay.

Anyway, I had a Winnie the Pooh book collection when I was little and to say I loved them would be something of an understatement.

Just in case you're wondering whether or not Winnie the Pooh is still in vogue, what with all his modern competition, he's 85 years old now and still has a ton of merchandise, from wallpaper, to clothes, to toys and games, bearing his name and image.

I think it's safe to say he's going to be popular with all ages for many, many years to come.

Winnie The Pooh Book Collection £30 @ Red House

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 1 December, 2010 at 12:00 pm

Winnie The Pooh Book Collection £30 @ Red HouseThis Winne the Pooh Book Collection would make a stunning Christmas gift for any Winnie the Pooh fan, young or old alike.

I adored Winnie the Pooh as a child and I had books very similar to these.

I have no idea where they are now and have since replaced them with this Winnie the Pooh Book Collection; I read them occasionally too and it's lovely to be able to 'step back in time' and, for a few minutes, feel that life is simple again and not have to worry about the grown-up stuff that is now the norm'.

Thirty books make up this Winnie the Pooh Book Collection and they are absolutely stunning.

I like Disney's version of Pooh Bear, but you can't beat the original water colour illustrations and with everything wrapped up in a sturdy presentation case, this really does make for a special present.

The rrp for the Winnie the Pooh Book Collection is £140 but those lovely folks at Red House have reduced it to £30, and delivery is free as you've spent over £15.

Pooh Bear, Eeyore & Tigger Pyjama Cases From £7.49 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 25 November, 2010 at 9:00 am

Pooh Bear, Eeyore & Tigger Pyjama Cases From £7.49 @ AmazonI adored Winnie the Pooh as a child, my ex-mother-in-law is still a rabid fan and would go all soppy over these Pooh Bear, Eeyore and Tigger pyjama cases.

When I was a kid I had a big grey hippo pyjama case and I loved stuffing my pyjamas into his tummy in the mornings before school.

All three Pooh Bear pals have some rather nice discounts currently applied to them.

We all know what Amazon are like - their prices can be more unstable than the Irish economy - but at the time of writing...

Pooh Bear and Tigger are £9.74, instead of £19.99, and Eeyore is a slightly lower £7.49, instead of £14.99) - which will probably make him very sad and gloomy indeed, so you'd better buy him to cheer him up *grin*

Pooh Bear, Eeyore and Tigger can also be used as hot water bottle covers - I've looked and searched and read all the small print I can lay my eyes on, but I can't find anything to say whether or not a hot water bottle is included.

Delivery is free, as always, if you choose the SuperSaver option.

Winnie-the-Pooh Complete Book Collection (30 Books) £27.00 @ The Book People

Winnie-the-Pooh Complete Book Collection (30 Books) £27.00 @ The Book People

My heart stopped when I saw this deal for this Winne-the-Pooh complete, and boxed, book collection on offer with The Book People.

You see, I had these hardback books when I was a little girl.

To say that I loved them would be a dramatic understatement; I dread to think how many times I read them.

My beloved Pooh Bear books and me parted company in 1992 when I emigrated; out of all the things I had to get rid of, these were among some of the things I found hardest to 'lose'.

I've ordered these 30 Winnie-the-Pooh story books and their lovely presentation box; I've ordered them just for me - not for my youngest, not for nostalgic teenagers...just for me, and I'm going to love and cherish them.

The rrp is £149.99 but you can have them from The Book People for £27 - the published price on their website is £30, so you'll need to apply a code at the checkout to drop it down to £27; I've even got one for free delivery too.

Use code: BRINC25 to get 10% off and bring the price down, then enter ZD533 to qualify for free delivery.

Megablocks 'Winnie The Pooh' Pirate Ship £7.99 @ Play

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 21 July, 2010 at 10:00 am

Megablocks 'Winnie The Pooh' Pirate Ship £7.99 @ PlayOh this little MegaBlocks 'Winnie The Pooh' pirate ship is just toooo cute!

I adored Winnie The Pooh as a kid and whilst I've stopped feeling the need for Pooh Bear duvet covers and cushions, I still have a soft spot for him and loved reading his stories to all the children when they were small.

Tigger was always my favourite, Kanga and Piglet were a bit wimpy I thought and Rabbit was such an anal old thing!

Tigger, Pooh and Piglet are all included in this MegaBlocks 'Winnie The Pooh' pirate ship set and your little ones are going to thoroughly enjoy fitting all the pieces together.

In true MegaBlocks style, they are brightly coloured (which kids love) and there are just the right number of pieces so they won't get bored before they've finished, and won't feel cheated when it's built in 2 seconds.

Megablocks 'Winnie The Pooh' Pirate Ship £7.99 @ PlayAll of the pieces fit together as one big pirate ship OR they can make up four smaller boats which actually float, so they can be played with in the bath too - got to love 'multi-tasking' toys!

Play have reduced this MegaBlocks pirate ship from £24.99 down to just £7.99 and UK orders are delivered for freeeee!

Disney Bedtime Buddy Microwaveable Warmers @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 8 March, 2010 at 3:00 pm

Disney Bedtime Buddy Microwaveable Warmers @ AmazonI'm in love with these Winnie the Pooh 'Bedtime Buddies'

Now don't ask me why they're all different prices because they all started out at £24.99 and quite frankly, I don't CARE!  All I know is I'm totally and utterly smitten with these guys.

I've loved Winnie the Pooh as a kid - although Tigger and Eeyore were my favourites, so it's going to be a tough call as to which one I'd choose.

I'm also a big fan of these microwaveable bed warmers - no filling up hot water bottles, no worries about them springing a leak in the middle of the night and all the other concerns that go along with them.

All of my kids have bears that go in the microwave - my daughter, at 14, still adores cuddling hers when it's warm (don't tell her I told you, she'll go mad!) and my youngest has a sheep...he's called 'Smelly-Lambkins' (don't ask) and is much-loved.

Disney Bedtime Buddy Microwaveable Warmers @ AmazonIf you're unfamiliar with these things, basically they have a bag of wheat inside that heats up when you put them in the microwave for a couple of minutes.  PING! and two minutes later you have a warm and toasty bedtime friend to cuddle.  By the way, they don't just have to be used at bedtime - I've often used mine for chilly late-night journeys home in the car.

Right, down to some important decision-making: Tigger or Eeyore?
