I always find it too easy to slip into gender stereotyping when it comes to toys like this Peppa Pig Kitchen Playset and assume that it's only girls who will love it.

However, if there are kitchen toys to be played with then that's where you'll, more than likely, find my youngest.

He's five and has ALWAYS loved messing around in the kitchen - real and pretend ones - helping to bake things and cooking dinner.  He also loves playing with his Transformers and Star Wars Light Sabers, but he's already a mean cook...perhaps he's the next Raymond Blanc in training!

This Peppa Pig Kitchen Playset has a ton of great features that will really bring kitchen play to life for your child.

It features the Peppa Pig theme tune and has interactive effects and phrases.  Food and utensils can be washed in the sink with real running water (you'll have to put your plumber's hat on and fill up the water tank every now and then), there are lots of cooking accessories and play pancakes to toss and you can set the oven timer and watch the hob glow too.

I wasn't a fan of play kitchens when I was little, but then none of them were as cool as this Peppa Pig Kitchen Playset.

My youngest loved Peppa Pig when he was small, well he's still small but he's much more into Ben 10 and Star Wars Lego now - FAR too grown up for the likes of Peppa Pig and her brother George.

This Peppa Pig Kitchen Playset comes with Peppa and George poseable figures along with a kitchen table and chairs for both P and G to sit at.

It also comes with a fridge, a combined oven and hob, a washing machine and, yes, even the kitchen sink - the doors on all the appliances open too.

The Peppa Pig Kitchen Playset doesn't require any batteries, just a whole lot of childhood imagination and hours and hours of nothing to do but play - ahhh, that's the life hey, shame we don't really appreciate it at the time.

With this set, children get a Peppa and a George with bibs (although I'd have thought Peppa was too old to be wearing a bib!) and a Granny Pig complete with her chef's hat on and apron. How cute is that? I love that in Peppa Pig world, if you're old you simply have white hair! I wish it worked that way in the real world (she grumbles as she trudges off to plaster on the nourishing cream, moisturising solution and anti wrinkle eye cream).

The set also includes a fridge freezer, a cooker, a sink, a washing machine, table and chairs. It is recommended for ages three and over.

Overall the customer reviews on the Argos site are good. Most give it four stars or more. Except one poor customer whose fridge in the set had the sticker showing the food upside down! I expect that sort of mistake is easily grounds for a free exchange, but I can understand the disappointment. It is hard to do that when your child has opened the set and wants to start playing with it! I would honestly have expected better quality from the Peppa Pig franchise, so perhaps that was a very rare one-off.
