My Favourite Nursery Rhymes And Tales £5.99 @ Reader’s Digest

Series of nursery rhyme books is available from Reader’s Digest for £5.99 reduced from £26.99.

Illustrated by Tony Ross, who has been illustrating books for adults and children for over 30 years, this three-volumed box set of classic nursesry rhymes and tales brings cherished favourites vividly to life for a new young audience.

According to Reader’s Digest, “The wonderful comic detail in his work makes this a collection that will never fail to enchant and amuse. Whether read aloud and shared, or enjoyed alone by budding readers, these are books that will be treasured for many years to come.

These stories and rhymes come with an accompanying CD which will help children recognise words as they relate them to pictures and sounds.

There’s no indication of what’s in these books, but the visible illustrations show Red Ridinghood, the dish and spoon running away together, a duck I can’t identify and the crows flying out the pie, so it’ll be your standard stories, retold and illustrated humorously, apparently!

Wheels on the Bus Song Book with CD £2.44 @ Amazon

Wheels on the Bus Song Book with CD £2.44 @ Amazon"The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round.  This song's now in your head going round and round a-l-l d-a-y lonnnng!"

I have a love-hate relationship with nursery rhyme books that come with CDs, on the one hand they're a GREAT idea as the CD adds an extra dimension to whole nursery rhyme singing experience but on the other, it means Kings of Leon and Snow Patrol barely get any airplay in my car anymore!

This Wheels on the Bus song book with its CD is sure to become a firm favourite with your child and you'll quickly discover that you STILL remember the words to songs you haven't thought about for years, and will probably find yourself humming them to yourself when your little singer has moved on to another activity for the day- you know how that goes.

On the playlist are the good ol' classics including: Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes (c'mon admit it, you added the other knees and toes to the end of that!), The Wheels On The Bus, Row Row Row your Boat, Incy Wincy Spider, Jack and Jill and all the other favourites from our own childhoods.

Delivery is free and Amazon are giving this audiobook away for a song (couldn't resist, sorry) reducing it from £5 to £2.44.  It might send you stir crazy after it's been on repeat for a couple of days but your kids are going to LOVE IT!
