ELC Hidey House £5 @ Mothercare

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 19 May, 2013 at 8:00 am

ELC Hidey House £5 @ Mothercare

The Hidey House game from ELC at Mothercare is half price in their current sale, selling for £5 instead of £10.

This seems to be a childs take on battleships - does anyone remember that game? Does it still exist?

In Hidey House, two players try to guess where the other player has hidden their items in their house in this plotting game.

You place your items in your house board and choose a room and number to see if the other player has an item there in that room: if you find a piece, you keep it.

Mark places where you have found things with a green face and places where you have not with a red face to remind yourself.  The game is ideal for children because it's not hugely drawn out: there are four pieces to find, and the first person to find all four pieces wins.

The game comes with a game board, eight game pieces, and 32 markers. It is apparently great for hand-to-eye coordination and thinking skills, as well as social and communication skills

HappyLand Zoo £30 @ Mothercare

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 16 May, 2013 at 3:00 pm

HappyLand Zoo £30 @ Mothercare

Mothercare has reduced the price on the HappyLand Zoo by half. It was on sale for £60 but now it is a mere £30 which is a lovely saving on a really cool toy. I wish I had a little one to go with it!

The HappyLand Zoo kit is great for teaching kids about animals and learning new words. Toys like these also inspire imaginative and creative play which is brilliant for developing minds and encouraging independence and problem solving.

The zoo also helps to develop hand-to-eye co-ordination skills, motor skills and lots of fun skills. The set needs a pack of four AA batteries, which are initially included. This set is suitable for kids from 18 months old and it comes with eight animals, three HappyLand people, one gift shop, one zoo entrance/animal enclosure, one monkey tree swing, one penguin slide and pool, and one train.

It is so sweet and you can add onto it with other items from the HappyLand range.

Crayola Twistables Sketch And Shade £4.80 @ Mothercare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 16 May, 2013 at 12:00 pm

Crayola Twistables Sketch And Shade £4.80 @ MothercareIf you have a budding Picasso, Monet or, perhaps, a Turner in your midst, you should get yourself over to Mothercare and bag them a Crayola Twistables Sketch and Shade drawing set for £4.80 - its usual price is £11.99.

You'll need to use the discount code VXXN to drop the £6 website price down to £4.80 though - make sure you remember, otherwise you'll end up paying more than you need to, and that would be bad!

This Crayola Twistables Sketch and Shade drawing set looks rather good and would make a great pressie for any drawing fan.  It consists of:

  • 15 Twistable Coloured Pencils
  • 10 Erasable Twistables Coloured Pencils
  • 2 Graphite Twistables Pencils; and
  • A 40-Page Sketchbook

You don't need a pencil sharpener when you're colouring with a Crayola Twistables Sketch and Shade set, which I think is GREAT and I'm not the only one...

"I bought it for my niece, she loves it. She uses it all the time. Everytime she comes to my house, the first thing she wants to do is go and colour.  Sbe loves to use the colored pencils. The twistable pencils are perfect. You can twist them up to colour with them and twist them down when you're finished so they don't end up getting broken off.

You can arrange to collect your Crayola Twistables Sketch and Shade drawing set for free from your local Mothercare, otherwise you can pay them £2.95 and wait for up to four days for them to deliver to you.

Save £31 On Pushchair Travel System @ Mothercare

Save £31 On Pushchair Travel System @ Mothercare

Mothercare have dropped the price of their Mothercare U Move pushchair travel system from £130 to just £99. That’s a brilliant saving of £31!

Since I haven’t won the Lotto yet and cant spend £200 on a pushchair, I'm LOVING the Mothercare U Move as a fantastic value option, offering everything you need for a new baby all in one smart package. Its got 4 adjustable seats, a play tray with a cup holder, lockable front swivel wheels and a large hood with viewing window. Plus it’s got a spacious shopping basket so your pushchair can double up as a grocery trolley (I speak from experience when I say this is VERY handy! Pushing a pushchair while dragging a trolley through Tescos is impossible… and people point and whisper.. not advisable!). But by far the best feature for me is that the car seat clips straight into the pushchair  which means that if your little cherub has fallen asleep in the car you don’t have to wake her up when you transfer her to the pushchair. And we all know you should let sleeping babies lie…

This is a no-brainer. £99 for a travel system with all the features AND a free 2 year guarantee. Get it now!

Kids Plastic Tables Now £20 each @ Mothercare

Tired of trying to get rid of paint and (worse!) glitter off your kitchen table after your Mini Picassos have produced a masterpiece? Then get them their own little plastic table to get creative on. Available at Mothercare, this table has been reduced from £25 to £20 so you can spend the £5 you save on something to get your kids’ creative juices flowing!

With dimensions of 57cm high x 37.5cm in length x 37.5cm wide, its suitable for kids from 2 years old. It comes flat-packed and even I (who cant even knock a nail into a wall straight), can slot the four plastic legs on to the table and it’s assembled in under two minutes.

Little Circus Moses Basket £22.99 @ Mothercare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 6 May, 2013 at 10:00 am

Little Circus Moses Basket £22.99 @ MothercareMothercare are selling this Little Circus moses basket for half price - £22.99, rather than £44.99.

All of my children spent their first few months of life on the outside, sleeping in a moses basket; there's just something about the way they look, to me, that makes them a 'must'.

Aside from how they look, they are very practical

  • They're light and easy to move around the house
  • They're very easy to take away with you when you're staying away from home
  • They're small and baby can feel very cosy inside, there's also the added 'cocooned' feeling when the canopy is raised
  • Find the right deal and you have a very cheap first sleeping solution

Your Little Circus moses basket comes with a non-PVC mattress (lots of moses baskets don't), and a cosy fleece blanket embroidered with soft, friendly little circus animals. You will need a stand for it though, you can get one of those from Mothercare too.

You can arrange to collect your Little Circus moses bakset from your nearest Mothercare store for free; standard delivery will cost you an additional £2.95 - which isn't bad, I don't think, when you consider it's a rather big item!

Bedding Bargains @ Mothercare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 4 May, 2013 at 12:00 pm

Bedding Bargains @ MothercareIf you're in the market for new, or more, bedding for your little one - whether they be in a moses basket, cot, or bed - then head over to Mothercare and take a look at the bedding they have on offer at the moment.

I adore new bedding. I really have to rein myself in when it comes to just not buying every new set that catches my eye - seriously, I already have enough sets to be able to change the sheets and duvet covers etc, every day of the week.

It's not only bedding for my bed that does it for me - sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, blankets - of all sizes, cot bumpers, they all float my bedding boat.  It's a very good job that I don't have anyone super small to buy bedding for, otherwise I'd be in big trouble.

This My First Adventure bed in a bag is my absolute favourite, click HERE to have a look at it - it's £56.99, instead of £89.99.

Standard delivery is free, as is in-store collection - or a few extra pounds if you want it delivered a little quicker.

Happy making beds (or cots, or moses baskets!)

Little Tikes My First Slide £23.99/£19.19 @ Mothercare

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 1 May, 2013 at 7:00 pm

Little Tikes My First Slide £23.99/£19.19 @ Mothercare

Mothercare and ELC are both selling the Little Tikes My First Slide for 20% less than RRP at £23.99 right now, but if you've not used the VXXN code yet, you can get it for £19.19. Delivery is available to your local store for free, otherwise you have to add £2.95 to have it shipped to your house.

These slides are stupidly exciting to little people, much more so than their plain and rather dull appearance would lead you to believe. I think it's because it's at a height that allows them a sense of control or accomplishment without fear? I don't know the psychobabble too well, but watching my 1 year old and her 18 month friend going down these recently, that's my conclusion.

The fabulous thing about this slide is that it doesn't have to dominate your garden, so your little ones can enjoy a bit of garden equipment, without you having to sacrifice your whole patch of lawn to it.

The handrails on this slide snap into place to give little ones a helping hand,  and the slide folds for easy storage when not in use. It's designed for 'great stability' so it won't topple over, and isn't  really high enough to inflict much damage in a fall.

ELC Crazy Foam £1.75/£1.40 @ Mothercare

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 30 April, 2013 at 7:00 pm

ELC Crazy Foam £1.75/£1.40 @ MothercareMothercare has Crazy Foam shapes available for £1.75, reduced from £3.50. If you've not used the VXXN code yet, you can do so now, and get them for £1.40. However, if you're going to have them delivered, it's £2.95 which costs more than the items themselves, but click and collect is available. Alternatively, add them with a larger order to really make it worth while!

There's nothing quite like art and craft time, and having things set up and ready and prepacked makes mum's life a lot easier too. Having them at a really, really good price doesn't hurt either!
The Crazy Foam Monsters and Fairies sets allow children to create their own colourful, crazy monsters and fairy friends.
Included in the set are pre-cut foam pieces and a glue stick. Children can select arms, legs and fangs and stick them on to one of the wacky monster bodies, or glue them together to make six adorable fairies.
This set is great for keeping children occupied on a cold or wet day, or for a playdate, and will make fun decorations for their bedroom.
It looks like there's low stock on the Fairies, but plenty Monsters still up for grabs.

Little Tikes Anchors Away Water Play Table £47.99 @ Mothercare

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 27 April, 2013 at 7:00 pm

Little Tikes Anchors Away Water Play Table £47.99 @ Mothercare

We've seen the Little Tikes Anchors Away Water Play Table reduced to £70 recently, but if you've held off on it because of the price, you're in luck. This gorgeous water play table is available now, with free delivery from Mothercare at £47.99.

Have great fun with water play*

  • Discount: 20%
  • Discount Code: RNLH

The centre mast of the pirate ship is a constant-flow water fountain and you keep the water moving by pumping the pump or by pouring water into the crows nest and watching all the bits spin.

There's a water cannon for aiming at and squirting unsuspecting passers by or your shipmates. There's also a bucket and a strainer, as well as some characters and a squirting shark. You'll also find a crank handle which lowers and raises the anchor, so plenty fun for little ones who love to play in water.

I know it would be way better for us than the current arrangement which sees my kitchen floor wet very often!

If you happen to have other toys in your basket, it will work on some of them, and give you all round savings.

ELC Wooden Garage £25 @ Mothercare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 8 April, 2013 at 11:00 am

ELC Wooden Garage £25 @ MothercareMothercare are selling this rather fabulous wooden garage for half price - £25 instead of £50 - and if you haven't used the VXXN discount code before, you'll be able to drop that price down to £20.

I have a real penchant for wooden toys and particularly wooden garage toys. My dad made one for me when I was small - it was properly awesome and I remember being really intrigued by the process of steaming the wood to make it bendy so he could add a slight curve to the ramps. I wonder what happened to it...

Anyway, this ELC wooden garage looks great - so much more robust, and stylish, than its plastic-fantastic counterparts in my opinion.  It comes with a wooden car and a wooden helicopter and is suitable for youngsters aged three years and older.

It features three floors - ground, first and second - two petrol pumps, a lift and a helipad; the lift has a simple winding action that's easy for little hands to get to grips with.  The ramps and roads have detailed road markings and it's all very PC with four, clearly marked, disabled parking bays.

You can pop along to your local Mothercare and collect it, or you can grease Mothercare's palm with £2.95 and they'll deliver it to you instead.

Don't forget to use the code and if you have used it before, there's no harm in trying it again - the worst that can happen is it won't be accepted.

ELC Pull Along Robots £7.50 @ Mothercare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 8 April, 2013 at 9:00 am

ELC Pull Along Robots £7.50 @ Mothercare Mothercare are selling these rather cute pull along robots for half price - £7.50 instead of £15.

All of my children loved playing with pull along toys when they were small - I'm not sure what it is about them that appeals to children, maybe it's a sort of 'follow the leader' and feeling important kind of thing.

Whatever it is, you can guarantee that whoever you buy these little pull along robots for will spend many happy hours playing with them.

The three robots are joined together and they spin, click, move and make robot noises. Obviously, to do this, they'll need batteries and the four packs of AAs they require are included.

If you want to pop along to your local Mothercare store and pick up your pull along robots, you can and it won't cost you anything. Or you can pay an additional £2.95 and have Mothercare deliver them to you instead.

ELC Activity Bot £7.80 @ Mothercare

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 7 April, 2013 at 8:00 am

ELC Activity Bot £7.80 @ Mothercare

Mothercare's sale is producing so many bargains that at the moment you could buy just about every gift you need for the year ahead and their savings apart, with the code VXXN you can take another 20% off. Another item listed in the sale is the ELC Activity Bot which they've put in at 50% off, taking it from £18 to £9. Take another 20% off that and you get an almost £20 toy for £7.80. Who can resist?

Annoyingly, while the website says that there's lots to do with the Actvity Bot, they're not terribly descriptive about it. What it does say is that you can move its arms and legs to hear clicking sounds or push the button on its head to turn the eyes and hear funny sounds.

The Activity Bot can sit or stand, twist and turn.  There are also switches on his tummy and curved mirrors on his foot for little ones to explore.

The Bot is suitable from 12 months of age and requires either 3xAA batteries or 4xAAA - the description seems to be confused, but you receive it with batteries, so you should be okay.
