The M&M Wellie Boot Review

The M&M Wellie Boot Review

It’s Welly Boot Season! Yes, the rain is dripping down and the nights drawing in and the cold tearing about the house. It is time to drag on those wellies and stomp outside in enormous, cold puddles and sing about snow. So I went out and bought not one, but two, pairs of wellington boots from M&M Direct*.

PlayPennies have done a few reviews for M&M Direct in the past and I noticed that their stuff was very cheap and so that’s why I chose them for the winter shop. My daughter’s feet seem to be growing at a speed that my wallet can’t keep up with so spending more than, say, £6 on a pair of shoes kind of hurts me.

M&M Direct have just launched two new wellies for their Autumn/Winter collection and they have been reduced from £12.99 to only £4.99. They are available in pink flowers or army camouflage. Perfect. I got one of each and in two different sizes.

The M&M Wellie Boot Review

The pink wellies were, of course, the ones my daughter first went for. They are ace for one very specific reason – the heels are see-through! Yes, the heel and sole are completely clear which had both of us enthralled. I don’t know why, it’s just ace.

The army camouflage pair were not a hit for colour in my daughter’s world until I showed her how they blended with our local forest. THEN they became the pair that never came off on our weekend walks even though they were a size too big.

Both pairs are well made and sturdy and waterproof – all the features of a good pair of wellies. My daughter didn’t suffer from blisters or rubbed areas, only a little in the bigger pair for obvious reasons, and their mouth is big enough for thick, warm socks. How can I not give these a resounding thumbs up? Great price and great value for money.

Timberland Women’s Trailwind Trainers £15.38 @ M&M Direct

Timberland Women’s Trailwind Trainers £15.38 @ M&M Direct

This is a fantastic deal for a pair of quality trainers that usually cost £64.99. M&M Direct has dropped the price to a very tasty £15.38 and not only do you save £49.61 but you get free delivery on orders over £10. Brilliant.

The Timberland women’s trainers are from the Trailwind series and are only available in a grey and orange combination. I think the colours are rather fabulous myself, but this may not be for everyone. There is also one other tiny hiccup – the deal is only available for a size 3, although this may change when they restock. Still, if this upsets you, visit anyway as they have a ton of women’s trainers on sale in a huge variety of sizes.

The trainers are ideal for hill and trail walking and have a leather and synthetic upper with a textile lining and a removable contoured sockliner for additional comfort. They have a rubber sole and the usual Timberland logo on the side in that ace orange. The interior is orange with orange laces and the rest of the shoe is shades of grey. Nice.

The Father’s Day Messenger Bag Review

The Father’s Day Messenger Bag Review

My husband loves satchels and messenger bags. It’s as if he can’t get enough of them. Each time he buys a new one, he justifies it by saying that it is far better for work than the previous one. He needs them to carry his technology and other bits and pieces that he needs for work.

So, as Father’s Day loomed, I thought that perhaps it would be a good idea to invest in a new messenger bag for The Husband and I bought this one from M&M Direct – the Onfire Men’s Messenger Bag for £19.99.

This is usually on sale for around £39.99, so I was pretty pleased with the discount! The bag has leather trims with a cotton shell and polyester lining and a magnetic stud fastening. What’s really interesting here is that the buckles you see in the picture are not actually used, they hide the magnetic attachment. My husband found them far easier to use than buckles – much quicker access – but not as secure.

He liked the bag and the way it was designed. He felt that it was easy to carry and easy to use and looked fine. The only problem that he had with the Onfire Men’s Messenger Bag was that the inner lining was not stitched in. It is loose. I must agree with him on this as it is inconvenient and doesn’t look very good at all.

Overall, though, if you are in the market for a low cost messenger bag that’s sturdy and looks decent and can take an iPad or similar tablet and some books or notes, then this is a good investment. It is also worth noting that it doesn’t have any compartments inside so it may be too risky to use as transport for a laptop, unless that has its own protective covering.

I give this 6/10 as the lack of compartments and loose inner lining let this product down, but the discount from M&M Direct and the design really boost the overall score.

Reebok Womens Easytone Trainers Review

Reebok Womens Easytone Trainers Review

I recently got a pair of Reebok Womens Easytone Reeinspire 2 trainers from M&M Direct as I’ve been desperate to try these shoes for ages. Loads of people have raved about how well they have worked, and just as many people have said they are a marketing scam. So which is it?

Honestly, after wearing the Reebok Easytone trainers for the past three weeks I don’t care. They are so comfortable. They are like memory foam pillows for feet. They are both soft and firm, sturdy and supportive and utterly and completely, well, comfortable.

On my first wearing, the shoes did leave my big toes feeling a little odd, almost as if they had pins and needles. It was an odd sensation but didn’t last beyond the first few days of wearing the shoes in. These shoes are built to help you get a better butt and legs and for every day walking and use.

The Reebok Easytone trainers are also very subtle in their colouring. Instead of the pink looking as vivid and startling as it does in this picture, it actually is rather easy on the eye. These shoes match pretty much every walking outfit I have and the various features built in – like the anti bacterial and fungal growth material – make them very lush to own. Every had a pair of cheap and nasty trainers start smelling? Yeah, these won’t.

One other thing worth noting about the Reebok Easytone Trainers is that the laces are good quality and don’t undo after every step. Add to this the comfort and the lovely low price at M&M Direct (they have it on offer for £39.99 instead of £74.99 so you save about £35) and you have a pair of very nice trainers in your cupboard.

Do they make your bum and legs thin and sexy? I honestly couldn’t see anything dramatic but they are worth the price for the comfort and style alone.

LEGO Shoes By Kickers @ M&M Direct

LEGO Shoes By Kickers @ M&M Direct

I love these! Love them! These Lego shoes by Kickers are just so hideous that I am in love. I’m a fan of Ugly Pretty and these fit the bill perfectly. These have all be marked down substantially from their usual high prices and would make a great Christmas gift or winter pair of warmers.

The first pair are bright yellow with Lego images along the sole. I’m not a fan of this pair, if I am honest, that yellow is a bit too mustardy for my taste. These are down to £19.99 with a saving of £35 on the original price and available in sizes UK12 to UK 2.5.

The Infant Heritage Lego Print Kickers with laces or with strap, are both down to £19.99 too and I love these. They are crazy cool. White with Lego blocks all over them, kids will love them. I dig the red laces too. Available in sizes 12-2.5.

You can also nab a white pair with Lego laces, or the awesome Heritage pair in red with Lego straps. These are all £19.99 and just scrummy. It’s just such a pity they don’t have any in my child’s size.

In The Night Garden Alarm Clock £2.09 @ M&M Direct

In The Night Garden Alarm Clock £2.09 @ M&M Direct*Sing along now everyone* YES! My name is Iggle Piiiiigle, Iggle, Iggle, Wiggle, Iggle Piiiigle!

It amuses me greatly that there are In the Night Garden alarm clocks. Each episode begins with a little child going to sleep and ends with everyone going to bed along with the dulcit tones of Derek Jacobi telling us that, "Someone's not in bed...Iggle Piggle's not in bed!"

The Night Garden is a place that 'lives' somewhere in between being awake and asleep and after all the adventures are done everyone goes to sleep, "Goodnight Maka Paka; goodnight Tombliboos; goodnight Upsey Daisy." None of them have an alarm clock!

But maybe it's just my strange sense of humour that finds this funny and is of no consequence really because all young kiddies I know enjoy having clocks in their bedrooms. I think it has something to do with feeling 'grown up' because the desire for a clock of their own seems to emerge before they can even tell the time.

In The Night Garden Alarm Clock £2.09 @ M&M DirectThe clock has an hour, minute and second hand (handy really, for a clock!), an alarm function and requires 1 AA battery which isn't included.  It's made of plastic and features Iggle Piggle on the face and is bound to be a big hit with your little ITNG fan.

M&M Direct have reduced their stock of In The Night Garden alarm clocks from £12.99 to £2.09 and even with the £3.99 delivery cost, is still a nice little bargain.
