Micro Flex Scooter Review

Micro Flex Scooter ReviewScooters are a part of modern family life now. It is about time then that we reviewed one of them for you. This particular model is the Micro Scooter Flex 99). Don't be put off by the price. I'll explain more about why we decided on this model to review, and how it is particularly good value, later.

I bet, if you're reading this and have children aged under 10, there's a scooter parked somewhere in your hallway/patio/garden shed. They make life so much easier. Children love to kick them along the pavement, and you love that they keep them moving and in a straight line towards where you're going.

There are added bonuses to having a scooter out and about with you as well. Shopping bags and other items can be hung off the handle bars when you're out. On longer trips, when children get tired you can pull them along on the scooter.

My stepson got one of the first Micro Scooters when they came out in the late 1990s. He was 12 at the time, and  it went everywhere with him. It then got pressed into service for my son, when he turned 4 and grew out of his pedal-less bike. I could have got one of the three wheeler types for him, but I figured he'd only grow out of that in a year so might as well go for the two wheel one straight off.

We've been using that for the last 18 months now, and it goes everywhere with us. Here's a handy tip if you're in London. The Natural History Museum classifies folded up scooters as pushchairs - which means they're free to leave in the cloakroom. Bonus! Worth checking the policy at your local museums.

Read on to find out more about what the Micro Scooter Flex is like to use in real life.

Micro Scooter And Accessories Review

by Lynley Oram in Reviews on 29 November, 2011 at 1:00 pm

Micro Scooter And Accessories ReviewAll I want for Christmas is ... Chances are a lot of kids are going to have a micro scooter on their list of Christmas gifts. My son has one, and I can't think what I'd do without it. When we're out it keeps him going in a straight line, it has a lot of entertainment value when at the park, and is perfect for day trips.

Invariably there's acres of walking to do where-ever we go. Just getting from the tube to the Natural History museum is a trek! So he doesn't get tuckered out too early, and for the trip home again at the end of the day when we're all tired, the micro scooter means I don't have a whiny child. He can stand on it, and it is effortless to pull along. Oh, and I can hang my bag on the handle too.

Even if it isn't for their main Christmas present list, Micro Scooters sell a number of accessories as well. Handy for stocking fillers and as smaller Christmas gifts.

So I was thrilled that we'd get a chance to review some of these. Always good to be able to pass on relevant and practical buying information for our parent readers. Sadly (for me) we don't get to keep this stuff, but you can read on to find out what we found heart wrenching to send back, and what we were more than happy to return.

Ozbozz Stealth Scooter £18.39 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 20 August, 2011 at 12:00 pm

Ozbozz Stealth Scooter £18.39 @ AmazonThis Ozbozz Stealth Scooter is an Amazon Deal of the Week, so it's £18.39 price tag (instead of 29.99) is guaranteed until 11.59pm tomorrow.

I had a scooter when I was little; it was okay and I had fun scooting on it but it was like a stepping stone between a trike and a bike.

They certainly weren't cool, not like now where micro scooters are still king.

I remember when my eldest son was maybe six or seven and his nan asked whether he might like a micro scooter for Christmas.  I distinctly remember saying that he probably would but she should brace herself for him losing interest in it when the next fad came along and micro scooters fell out of favour.

Ten years on they're still as popular as ever and this Ozbozz Stealth Scooter looks pretty nifty.

Apparently it's the ultimate in cool with its matt black frame matching hubs, clip-off grips, decals, PU wheels, ABEC bearings and rear brake.

The Ozbozz Stealth has an easy fold and lock mechanism making it easy to fold down when you're not using it and has adjustable height handle bars which can be easily adjusted from 76cms - 87cms to suit the height of your child.

Ozbozz also include a spare parts manufacturers warranty with all outdoor scooters and it's recommended for scooter fans aged five years or older.

Happy Scooting!

JD Bug Original Scooter £31.50@ ExtremePie.com

JD Bug Original Scooter £31.50@ ExtremePie.comExtremePie are selling this JD Bug original scooter for £31.50 instead of £50.

Tamsin has called me Pie for years (that's one of the more polite names she has for me) so anything with the name Pie in it tends to catch my eye, hence this scooter post.

£35 for an in-line scooter might seem a bit much, but this one is virtually indestructible as it's made from Aircraft Grade Aluminium for super strength.

This can only be a good thing if you have a young scooter like my youngest; scooters are for scooting, yes, by they're also for trying to do BMX bike tricks on! Trust me when I say that Ben 10 and Spongebob scooters tend not to stand up well to this level of abuse!

The JD Bug scooter has a single action folding/unfolding mechanism along with a rear wheel guard and brake.

If you're worried about little fingers getting trapped the JD Bug scooter is, apparently, the safest folding scooter available in the UK having passed the following safety tests:- 1) GS mark, by TUV Germany. 2) CATRA Product Metallurgical Test. 3) STR Product Safety Test. 4) STR Entrapment Hazard Test.

Standard delivery is free from ExtremePie and you'll notice that the published price for this JD Bug scooter is £35; enter FIRSTORDER10 into the promotion code box in your basket and it will come down to £31.50; marvellous.
