Little Tikes Play ‘n’ Scoot Pirate Ship Ride-On £16.99 @ Argos Ebay

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 8 May, 2012 at 7:00 pm

Little Tikes Play ‘n’ Scoot Pirate Ship Ride-On £16.99 @ Argos Ebay

The Little Tikes Play ‘n’ Scoot Pirate Ship Ride – On is a fun alternative to other more ‘normal’ ride-ons and a perfect toy for a pirates fan! It’s on offer at Argos Ebay for £16.99 – elsewhere it’s £34.99.

This is such a fun looking little ride-on! I am looking at it and thinking of a little boy called Jasper who had his first birthday as a pirate party. What fun this would have been as a present for him.

There’s a button-on mast which activates realistic pirate ship sounds. It includes two figurines, cannon, anchor and a pirate flag.  The deck hatch opens and doubles as storage for accessories and treasures.

They say on the website that this toy helps the child improve motor skills, social and emotional development, physical development, hand to eye co-ordination, visual development, sound awareness and creativity.

The ride-on weighs 3.5kg, and is 17 inches in height, suitable for children over 18 months.

Little Tikes Inside And Outside Kitchen £64.99 @ Adventure Toys

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 8 February, 2012 at 7:00 pm

Little Tikes Inside And Outside Kitchen £64.99 @ Adventure Toys

The massive Little Tikes Inside and Outside Kitchen is reduced from £129.99 to £64.99 at Adventure Toys, and there’s a £7.50 delivery charge.  There are a few things to consider if you’re going to buy this though, so read on.

This is a massive play kitchen and has so much potential, assuming you have the space for it. It’s double sided and has a window with removalbe flowers into or out of the ‘house’.

The kitchen side has a sink, dishwasher, oven and hob that makes cooking sounds, and there are shelves, a microwave and a storage cupboard. The fridge has a magnetic door and above it is a coffee maker with a ‘magic pouring’ coffee pot – which I think means it makes sounds.

The ‘outside’ has a barbeque grill that lights up and sizzles like a grilling fire. There’s a table area to serve food up on as well as a separate bench for siting on.

The accessory pack that comes with it contains a chef’s hat, magnets (for the fridge), barbeque food, cutlery, crockery and pots.

It does require 3AA batteries and 3D batteries, and because of electronics can’t actually be left outside.

But here’s the catch: these are reduced because they are ‘seconds’ or demo models. They may have damaged boxes, and the oven or dishwasher doors may not close fully – although they do apparently stay closed and open without any problems.

If you think that’s something your little one can live with, this is a great price.

Mobile Push 'N' Ride Car £29.99 @ Little Tikes

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 23 October, 2011 at 8:00 am

Mobile Push 'N' Ride Car £29.99 @ Little Tikes

Little Tikes have a special offer on their Push 'N' Ride Car – they're selling it for £29.99 instead of £39.99.

I love these ride-on toys with parent handles. They make trips out with toddlers way simpler and a lot less stress on the back. We don't have this one, but I like the concept anyway.

The Little Tikes mobile is a great parent controlled 'vehicle' to take your child anywhere. It's ideal for long hikes along the beach front, short trips to the shops and anything in between.

It has a solid construction and a folding push handle which locks into position and when it's folded it acts as a handle for lifting the car into a boot or storage. It also has two cup-holders – one in front for the child and one in the back for the adult steering. There's a seat belt for child-safety and quiet-ride tires for parent sanity.

There's also a storage area under the hood, which is particularly useful, I think.

Little Tikes My First Cozy Coupe Push-Along And Ride-On £14.99 @ Argos

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 15 August, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Little Tikes My First Cozy Coupe Push-Along And Ride-On £14.99 @ Argos

The My First Cozy Coupe Push-Along And Ride-On from Little Tikes is currently on offer for £14.99 at Argos, which is a lovely 50% off the original price.

The Little Tikes My First Cozy Coupe Push-Along And Ride-On toy is a versatile toy that should last a while as your child’s abilities change, and at half price, definitely looks like a good buy.

It has something called a ‘telescoping frame’ and I honestly don’t know what that means, but on the up side, it changes easily from a push behind walker to foot-to-floor ride-on.

There’s a parent controlled button which safely locks the product in place in both modes to keep the little ones safe. There’s also storage space under the hood, making that a convenient space to keep things.

There’s a free moving steering wheel to help kidlets think they’re in charge, with a squeaker horn for added authenticity. The Coupe does require 2 AA batteries, but I’m not really sure what for – perhaps the horn?

Either way, the Coupe is suitable from 9 months old, and designed in the familiar ‘Cozy Coupe’ style.

Spiralin Seas Waterpark £29 @ Little Tikes

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 13 August, 2011 at 12:00 pm

Spiralin Seas Waterpark £29 @ Little TikesLittle Tikes are selling this Spiralin Seas Waterpark water play table 'thingy' for £29 at the moment.

There are all sorts of things kids can do with this Spiralin Seas Waterpark water table.

Other than just splashing around in it and getting soaked it's going to help them develop various fine motor skills along with learning and understanding cause and effect.

They can drop character balls down the spiral, watch them go round and round and end up dropping down into the lazy river - you just KNOW how long this will keep kids entertained for...HOURS, especially once they persuade YOU to keep dropping the balls into the spiral.

There's also a ferris wheel which, when turned, scoops up balls and the drops them off and if they fill the cup and pour water into the funnel they will make two water wheels spin.

The Spiralin Seas Waterpark water table has a 6 litre capacity and is recommended only for children aged two years and older.

Now before you go dashing off to Little Tikes to place your order, I need to remind you about Mothercare's 'Price Match' promise.

They promise to match the price of anything you find online, or in a store, cheaper than they're selling it for - this is one of those times as Mothercare are selling this Spiralin Seas Waterpark for £44.99 as an online exclusive (you won't be able to collect it in-store) - they call it something different but it's the same thing

If you can be bothered with a quick phonecall and fancy a £10 Mothercare voucher for your 'trouble' then just give them a call and give them all the relevant details - they'll match the Little Tikes price for you and send your voucher along in the post too.

Marvellous!

Little Tikes Sand And Water Table £49.99 @ Argos

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 24 July, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Little Tikes Sand And Water Table £49.99 @ Argos

There's £20 off the Bright 'n' Bold sand and water table by Little Tikes at Argos, bringing the £69.99 set down to £49.99.

I love the optimism in the blurb of this 'With the Bold 'n Bright sand and water table, kids can experience the fun of the water park in their own backyard'. Erm... over promising a little there, don't you think? Where I come from, water parks include whole body in water submergence, but anyway, let's not be negative here!

Overselling it's fun-rating aside, I do quite like the Bold 'n' Bright sand and water table. There are water slides, but they're for toy characters, not your kids. Those same characters can launch off the twin diving boards – preferably into water than into sand. It comes with floating inner tubes, which is great fun, again, for the characters.

There's also a dump bucket to catch one of the characters by surprise and soak them. On the sand side, you can play with the sand spinner or a 2-in1 shovel-come-rake.

The sand table comes with a fabric cover for outdoor protection, although there's not much information on how waterproof it is.

It has a 6 litre capacity, and the sand pit will need 10kg of sand.

Little Tikes Cosy Cottage £59.99 @ Bargain CrazyYou can pick up a Little Tikes Cosy Cottage for £59.99 instead of £155 if you buy it from Bargain Crazy, saving yourself a WHOPPING £95.01 (that one penny makes all the difference you know)!

Bargain Crazy is RIGHT; Tesco are currently selling the Little Tikes Cosy Cottage for £132.

This is a smoking hot deal and I can imagine, at this price, it won't stay in stock for long; if you've  been looking for one, or think your little one would like it, please don't dawdle over there as you may just be too late.

The Little Tikes Cosy Cottage is bright and colourful, as you would expect, and your little one will need you to put it together for them before they can play in it; it's easy to put together though.

It has a large window and a functional Dutch door; inside it has a sink and stove area - my youngest son LOVED playing with something very similar to this in our local pocket park, the amount of stick sandwiches I've 'eaten' over the years...

Here are the dimensions of the Little Tikes Cosy Cottage, just in case they're an important consideration for you: 112 L x 104 W x 117 H

Little Tikes Pirate Ship Water Play Centre £54.99 @ Little Tikes

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 13 April, 2011 at 10:00 am

Little Tikes Pirate Ship Water Play Centre £54.99 @ Little TikesLittle Tikes are selling this rather awesome Anchors Away Pirate Ship Water Play centre for £54.99 - a quick scout around the internet seems to suggest that this is £20 cheaper than everywhere else online.

If the sand and water activity centre I posted earlier was a bit basic and boring for your taste, then this Little Tikes Pirate Ship Water Play centre might be a little more up your street m'hearties and your kids are going to love it!

The centre mast is a constant-flow water fountain and you keep the water moving by pumping the pump or by pouring water into the crows nest and watch everything spin.

There's a water cannon for aiming at and squirting unsuspecting passers by or your shipmates. There's also a bucket and a strainer, a couple of characters and a squirting shark.

There's a crank handle too which lowers and raises the anchor, and if that wasn't enough the Little Tikes Pirate Ship Water Play centre qualifies for free delivery as it's over £20 - and well worth it for all of that pirate ship malarky I think.

Little Tikes Climb And Slide Castle £49.99 @ Toys R Us

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 24 March, 2011 at 11:00 am

Little Tikes Climb And Slide Castle £49.99 @ Toys R UsToys R Us are selling this Little Tikes Climb and Slide Castle for half price - £49.99 instead of £99.99.

There's no way I'd pay £100 for this, not even if the kids had begged for it, but I might have been tempted by £49.99.

All kids love climbing up and over things then sliding down the other side. Sometimes it can be handy having something like this Little Tikes Climb and Slide Castle at home, rather than having to trek off somewhere else to find climbing and sliding fun.

You're going to need to put the Little Tikes Climb and Slide Castle together yourself but don't worry, the official blurb leads us to believe this isn't going to be too tricky.

It features a climbing wall, a crawl tunnel and hideout, a gentle slide and a steering wheel for imaganitive play; this has to be the first castle I've come across with it's own steering wheel, a strange combination but we know the kids are going to love it.

The dimensions are: 127 (l) x 60 (w) x 104 (h) cm so it's not HUGE and could even be played with indoors when the weather isn't so kind.

The reviews for the Little Tikes Climb and Slide Castle are glowing too...

"My 11 month old boy absolutly loves this he loves to hide underneath it and loves the steering wheel on the top best thing we have bought."

"My son has had hours of fun on this he is 17months, I am pleased we got it in the sale as I definitely do not think it would be worth the full price.  Is sturdy and am sure will last for a long while."

"Very sturdy my 2 year old loves and so does the dog!"

It is suitable for individual or group play and is best for small children. It is sturdy and easy to assemble, and according to reviewers provides hours of entertainment and fun. It's good for getting little ones active and can be used indoors or outdoors.

It's also not terribly big, only 127 (l) x 60 (w) x 104 (h) cm so can easily be moved too.

Little Tikes Mobile Push 'n' Ride Car Review

by Luschka van Onselen in Reviews on 28 January, 2011 at 1:00 pm

Little Tikes Mobile Push 'n' Ride Car Review

I was first introduced to Little Tikes long before I ever had my own child, when my god-daughter turned up at a restaurant for breakfast one day, and I have absolutely loved them ever since. I love that the child has freedom to move in this alternative to a pushchair.

But, as ever, it's really the opinions and experience of the PlayPennies panelist mums that counts, and this time Ling has agreed to share her thoughts with us.

Ling was really excited to try the Tikes Mobile as she had been in the market for a push along vehicle that her one-year old would “ find more engaging than being strapped in his pushchair”.

Little Tikes Mobile Push 'n' Ride Car ReviewShe discussed with friends and tried a few popular types but found that there tended to be problems with steering, which was a big turn-off for her. “This was important for me as I was planning to take said vehicle for walks in parks.”

Upon arrival already, things were looking good for the Tikes Mobile, says Ling. “Even without a steering wheels or normal wheels on, he happily sat in the body of the car.”

Assembly of the car was straightforward. The instructions were entirely pictorial so once you had worked out what each of the diagrams represented, it was very easy to follow.” Ling told us. “I managed, with some difficulty, to put this together on my own but if you had another person (even a child, who just needs to be able to hold the car level while you attached the wheels to the crossbar/ chassis) the assembly would have been very easy, only requiring a bit of strength to hammer the pegs that hold the wheels in place”

Although the car comes with instructions for attaching the seatbelts and handle-securing belts, Ling's car came with everything already attached.

Ling also gave us great insight into the child's experience of the Tikes Mobile.

Little Tikes Mobile Push 'n' Ride Car ReviewI found the steering wheel a bit low and far for my son to reach although maybe it is because he is a bit short. For the most of it, he was happy to be pushed around and watch the world go by with an unfettered 360⁰ view.”

It might be worth noting, however, that the seat belts are really just fasteners so stop a child from falling out of the vehicle, says Ling. “ Looking at the marketing pictures though, it seems like a bigger/ taller child should be able to fit into this with no problems”

There is no suspension or breaks, so Ling suggests keeping on paths and even surfaces, although the Tikes Mobile does handle slightly bumpy roads rather well. Ling felt that the ride did seem quite comfortable for her son.

There were a few inclines where we went and I found that it was unnecessary to go downhill backwards although you just have to have a firm hand on the car to make sure it did not roll away” says Ling. And since steering was such an important factor of her, we wondered what she thought of the steering in the Tikes Mobile.

““Steering” is easy in as much as you pretty much lift the front or back end via the parent handle (either by pressing down or lifting, respectively) and then pivot the vehicle. You don’t need too much effort to do it and makes the vehicle more manoeuvrable than you would first think.”

This car has no steering mechanism apart from the parent pushing it so you don’t wind up fighting against something to move it in a particular direction.”

Little Tikes Mobile Push 'n' Ride Car ReviewLing was also quite impressed with the design and manufacturing of the Tikes Mobile. “With the idea of taking this little car out in mind, they have designed it with hard wearing wheels and a foldable parent handle (to fit into the a car for transport).”

She was a little skeptical at first as to whether it would fit in the boot of her Ford Fiesta, but it went in with room enough for a changing bag and a bit of shopping.

The main downside to the little car it seems, was that the parent-handle, which locks in either 'use' or 'store mode, didn't seem to lock quite as well in 'use' mode. This mode is supposed to prevent the handle from coming down on top of the child while they are in the car, but Ling didn't feel it was as robust as the rest of the vehicle.

AND FINALLY....

Ling's overall impression is “that this car is very sturdy, right down to the wheels.  I wiped ours down after the zoo outing and the wheels are only slightly scratched up.  I imagine this will see us through plenty more outings come the summer.”

The Mobile Push 'n' Ride car comes in , and is made of a high-quality, durable plastic body with a wide seating area and good floor space.

Mobile Tikes are available on the Little Tikes website for around £50.00

Little Tikes Coupe Ride-on £29.99 @ Amazon

Little Tikes Coupe Ride-on £29.99 @ Amazon

The Little Tikes Anniversary Edition Cozy Coupe Ride-on is £29.99 at Amazon, a £20.00 saving from the usual £49.99

A friend of ours has this Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Ride-on car and one day her son and my daughter were playing. He got out to give her a turn, but his foot caught and it landed on my shocked but unhurt daughter, who simply pushed it off and looked at me in surprise. The little boy ran to his mummy crying though, thinking he'd hurt her. We were both impressed with how light it really was! That little memory aside, however, let me tell you a bit about the car!

It is made with strong, durable plastic and the design has been refreshed to celebrate the 30th, yes, that's 30th, anniversary of Little Tikes.

It has a high seat for little ones and a small storage facility on the inside, as well as an 'ignition switch' and an open-and-close petrol cap. The tyres are rugged and the front wheels rotate 360 degrees. The Cozy Coupe has the option of either being peddle powered – Flintstones style – or parent pushed.

Putting it together can be a good parental workout too, apparently, but the kids absolutely love it.

Little Tikes Cozy Coupe 30th Anniversary Edition £33.32 @ Sainsbury's

Little Tikes Cozy Coupe 30th Anniversary Edition £33.32 @ Sainsbury'sThese Little Tikes Cozy Coupe cars have to be one of the iconic symbols of childhood!

Can you believe these little ride-on/ride-in cars have been around for 30 years!!??

I don't remember them as a kid (which isn't THAT long ago, ACTUALLY!) but my oldest two do and if they could fit in one now, they'd SO want to have one still!

They've been the cause of many a tantrum and rivers of tears at nursery schools and playgroups around the country, and having one at home is guaranteed to make  your little one squeal with delight!

Sainsbury's have these on offer just now for £33.32 instead of £49.99 and if you're spending over £50 then delivery will be free, otherwise it'll set you back £3.95, which is pretty good, I think, compared to Tesco's £5.95 delivery costs.

The Little Tikes Cozy Coupe has all the things that kids love to play with when it comes to toy cars - doors that open, an ignition key that you can turn and they can pretend to put in petrol by opening the fuel filler cap.

It's suitable for little tikes aged 18 months and over and you'll have to do a bit of self-assembly before they can zoom around in their new wheels.

Little Tikes Barbeque Set £19.99 @ TOYS R US

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 5 August, 2010 at 9:00 am

Little Tikes Barbeque Set £19.99 @ TOYS R US I'm not one for gender stereotyping toys, but this Little Tikes barbeque set is just the perfect thing for little cooks (especially boy ones).

My youngest has ALWAYS loved playing with toy kitchens and pretending to cook lots of lovely things.  He's never had a kitchen of his own and had to content himself to playing with the very pink girly ones, that are either at nursery or at friends' houses.

I've yet to see a decent unisex kids' kitchen toy.  I mean, you don't see Jamie Oliver cooking in a pink kitchen do you! You don't see Gary Rhodes creating cullinary masterpieces in a kitchen that's been styled to look like the castle from Sleeping Beauty!

So the boys are getting a bit of a rough deal in the cooking toys department.  Hurrah, then, for this Little Tikes 'Get Out N Grill' Barbeque Set, complete with accessories, from Toys R Us!

It's gender friendly - girls will be just as happy playing with this as boys, and it's half price at Toys R Us (or instore at T J Hughes apparently, if you have one of those near you) having been reduced from £39.99 down to £19.99.

Little Tikes Barbeque Set £19.99 @ TOYS R US It has a little cupboard underneath to store all the bits and pieces in. The grid has a lid, there's a side burner and sink and it comes with a hamburger, a hot dog and their resepective buns along with a pair of tongs and a spatula.

Fortunately, food poisining and burnt food are not included!

Little Tikes Junior Activity Gym £34.97 @ TescoDirect

Little Tikes Junior Activity Gym £34.97 @ TescoDirectWell today seems to be the day for big bargains - this Little Tikes Junior Activity Gym is an absolute steal!

It's bright and colourful, it's made of plastic and is everything I usually try to avoid having in my garden as I'm more of a wooden toy person you see.

BUT, there's something about Little Tikes things that make me happy to break the 'classical wooden look rule' - I think it's because you can absolutely guarantee that things like this Little Tikes Junior Activity Gym, and the little car that is synonomous with the brand, are going to be a HUGE hit with the kids.

And I can guarantee that the price of this deal is going to be a HUGE hit with you too - Tesco Direct have reduced it down from £89.97 to just £34.97!! Please, don't hang around on this one as I'm sure it's not going to stay in stock for very long.

This junior activity gym is great for kids aged one year and over. They can slide, climb, crawl in and out and play peek-a-boo through the holes.  It's compact too (W79cm x H79cm x D128cm) so you can bring it indoors during the winter months, but let's not mention that horrible W word on such a beautiful sunny day!

Standard next day delivery is £5 or you can arrange to collect instore for freeeee.

Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Ride-on £35 @ AmazonThe 'famous' colour combination of yellow and red is still intact, it has an open and close petrol cap, it has an 'ignition switch' for super-fast getaways (all of my kids loved turning the key and making VROOM VROOOOOM revving noises straight after) and it's fron wheels swivel 360 degrees to make parking or getting out of a tight spot a breeze...I could do with that on my car!

Amazon have redued the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe down from £49.99 to £35, which is an absolute bargain in my humble opinion!
