LEGO Star Wars Deals @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 4 May, 2012 at 11:00 am

LEGO Star Wars Deals @ Amazon In recognition of the fact it's Star Wars Day today, I thought I'd tell you about some of the LEGO Star Wars deals up for grabs at Amazon.

Soooo many LEGO Star Wars things and only one childhood to fit them into - so where to begin?

Well, Luke's Landspeeder is always a favourite, especially if you want to bulls eye some Womp Rats for yourself - the full price for a LEGO Star Wars Luke's Landspeeder is £25.50, you can pick one up for £19.90.

I've built the LEGO Star Wars Battle of Naboo droid carrier with my youngest son, it's rather cool - big enough to feel you've got value for money but not so big that you lose the will to live half-way through building it.

If Empire was your favourite film (and it's the best of them all, in my opinion) then you might want to build and play with the LEGO Star Wars Hoth Wampa Cave - perhaps Luke will get eaten in your version! - if so, it can be yours for £24.99 instead of £35.99.

There are lots of other LEGO Star Wars things up for grabs - a LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia, or a Lightsaber Torch perhaps!

May the 4th be with you!

Lego Star Wars Book Collection In A Bag £15 @ The Book PeopleCalling everyone who knows a young LEGO Star Wars fan!  The Book People are selling a collection of three LEGO Star Wars Books (complete with bricks and minifigures) for £15 rather than the full £43.99 list price.

The Ultimate Sticker Collection comes with 500 stickers to sort out and stick on/in; the Visual Dictionary will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about LEGO Star Wars figures, and the Brickmaster book comes with 240 bricks, two minifigures and instructions for building eight models.

There are usually delivery fees to pay either for orders containing either single or multiple items, but if you use this code at the checkout - AFFREE15 - then delivery of your LEGO Star Wars books will be free.

Anakin Skywalker LEGO Star Wars Minifigure Alarm Clock £14.99 @ Zavvi on eBay

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 24 November, 2011 at 10:00 am

Anakin Skywalker LEGO Star Wars Minifigure Alarm Clock £14.99 @ Zavvi on eBayIf you get yourself over to Zavvi on eBay, pronto, then you should be in plenty of time to pick up an Anakin Skywalker LEGO mini figure clock for £14.99; I bought a Darth Vadar one from Argos the other week and it cost me £19.99 (reduced from £24.99).

SO, my youngest is a huge LEGO Star Wars fan and I asked his dad whether a Darth Vadar or Stormtrooper one would be best. Darth Vadar was the answer, so Darth Vadar I dutifully bought.

They both dropped in on an impromptu visit the other day and my youngest, with his eyes like a hawk, SPOTTED LEGO Darth Vadar sitting in the kitchen - I'd forgotten to put it away and I've been BUSTED!

To make matters worse, he announced, "I don't like alarm clocks, I don't want it!" Poor Darth Vadar, absolute rejection; I'm glad I kept the receipt.

Your LEGO Star Wars Anakin Skywalker clock has a digital LCD display with backlight and an AM/PM indicator; there's the all-important snooze function too and come with the two AAA batteries he needs to operate.

I hope YOU have better luck with your LEGO Star Wars mini figure clock than I did; may the Force be with you!

LEGO Star Wars Minifigure Clocks £19.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 3 November, 2011 at 12:00 pm

LEGO Star Wars Minifigure Clocks £19.99 @ ArgosOh for goodness SAKE!  Just when I think I'm done with Christmas presents for my youngest son, these LEGO Minifigure clocks come to my attention!  They look COOL and they currently have a cool 20% off at Argos too, bringing them down to £19.99 from £24.99.

Both clocks have a digital LCD display with backlight and an AM/PM indicator; there's the all-important snooze function too and come with the two AAA batteries they need to operate.

The LEGO Storm Trooper minifigure clock measures H23 x W14 x D8 cms, whilst the LEGO Darth Vadar minifigure clock is slightly 'deeper' at 9.5cms - I guess it was him who ate all the pies!

Both LEGO minifigure clocks come gift boxed and I can just picture one of them sitting by the side of my son's bed.  It's a tough call though - Darth Vadar or the Storm Trooper?  I'm leaning more towards the Storm Trooper to be honest, but that's only because Darth Vadar used to scare me when I was little.

Both are available to reserve and collect in-store, or you can pay £5.95 and have them delivered to your home.

LEGO Star Wars 8095 General Grievous Starfighter £30.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 14 September, 2011 at 9:00 am

LEGO Star Wars 8095 General Grievous Starfighter £30.99 @ ArgosArgos are currently selling this LEGO Star Wars 8095 General Grievous Starfighter for £30.99; it was originally £45.99 and is set to be the lower price until 20 January 2012.

Whilst the price is set to be lower for quite a while, I don't expect this LEGO Star Wars General Grievous Starfighter to stay in stock for very long.

LEGO Star Wars fans don't hang around when their beloved themed blocks are on sale and rightly so, Lego is expensive so it makes good economic sense to grab things when you can.

It features hidden flick-firing missiles and includes anew General Grievous mini figure, a new A4-D Droid and a new Jedi Knight Nahdar Vebb mini figure too.

Just in case you're not overly au fait with all things Star Wars, General Grievous is a BAD guy (if you've seen the movies but are struggling to place him, he's the skeletal looking dude who sounds like he's got very VERY bad asthma) which makes him perfect for re-enacting battle scenes between the right and dark side of the Force.

I really wouldn't bother paying the £5.95 home delivery fee, rather arrange for in-store pick-up at your nearest Argos that has stock.

By the way - just in case Argos should sell out before you get a chance to buy a LEGO Star Wars 8095 General Grievous Starfighter, Amazon are selling them too BUT they're slightly more expensive at £36.94

Lego Star Wars Character Encyclopedia £9.59 @ Play

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 13 September, 2011 at 9:00 am

Lego Star Wars Character Encyclopedia £9.59 @ PlayI've just pre-ordered my copy of this Lego Star Wars Character Encyclopedia; actually it's  not for me, it's for my youngest son for Christmas *sshhhh*

I'm lucky that my youngest has a love for books because that's what he's going to be getting from me this Crimbo.

I've already bought him this Children's Illustrated Internet Linked Encyclopedia - great for learning - so I thought it would nice to balance that out with this Lego Star Wars Character Encyclopedia, as he's a massive Lego Star Wars fan.

It features more than 300 minifigures and over 400 images.  The minifigures are organised in order of their appearance in the movies, each LEGO Star Wars minifigure has a full-page character profile with lots of fascinating facts - I can hear Edward now, "Did you KNOW...?"

The Lego Star Wars Character Encyclopedia also features an exclusive Han Solo minifigure, receiving a medal in the scene from 'A New Hope'.

Play are running a pre-order price of £9.59 instead of £14.99, for this Lego Star Wars Character Encyclopedia, and is due for release on 3 October.

LEGO Star Wars Mandalorian Battle Pack £5.89 @ Play

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 5 September, 2011 at 9:00 am

LEGO Star Wars Mandalorian Battle Pack £5.89 @ PlayIf you're looking for LEGO Star Wars stocking fillers - delivery is within 6 to 8 weeks - then you should pop over to Play - they're selling this LEGO Star Wars Mandalorian Battle Pack for £5.89 instead of £9.99.

On the one hand, having a child who adores a certain something - like LEGO Star Wars - is a great thing as it means you're never short of presents to buy for them.

On the other, if they like a certain something that's usually expensive - like LEGO Star Wars - then it's not so great as it means your bank balance takes a regular beating.

I can't remember the last time I paid the full price for anything LEGO Star Wars; I refuse!

I just keep my eyes WIDE open for any sort of deal on it and POUNCE the moment I find one.

This LEGO Star Wars Mandalorian Battle Pack features a Mandalorian speeder, blaster turret and four Mandalorian trooper minifigures, each with their own unique weapon.

It's little, you can buy more than one and start to build your own Mandalrian army and young LEGO Star Wars fans aged six years or older will love it.

3 For 2 On LEGO Star Wars @ Boots

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 3 September, 2011 at 12:00 pm

3 For 2 On LEGO Star Wars @ BootsBoots currently have a 3 for 2 offer on various LEGO Star Wars things.

I can't help it; I can't let a LEGO Star Wars deal go by without telling you about it.

If you're a regular PlayPennies reader then you'll know that my youngest is a huge LEGO Star Wars fan and, as a result, I've become rather proficient at building all things Star Wars.

It doesn't matter whether it's an army of Clone droids or a full-blown huge Imperial Space Cruiser - if he's got it, I'll build it.

I've built Plo Koon's Star Fighter - that was rather fun - and I've completed this Battle of Naboo model too.

I'd like to know who actually designs these models - if you've never seen the plans for the larger LEGO Star Wars models, let me tell you they're complicated and have all sorts of bits 'inside' that you never see from the outside!

Prices for the LEGO Star Wars bits and pieces included in the Boots 3 for 2 offer start from £10 and go right up to £132 for a rather large Millennium Falcon model...I've yet to build THAT one.

30% Off Selected 2011 LEGO Star Wars Models @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 1 September, 2011 at 11:00 am

30% Off Selected 2011 LEGO Star Wars Models @ Amazon*CHRISTMAS PRESENT ALERT* Amazon have taken 30% off the price of selected 2011 LEGO Star Wars models - now would be a good time to get those LEGO presents sorted.

It's the 1st September today; there are only 16 complete weeks before Christmas and you KNOW that taking advantage of deals like this makes sound economic festive sense!

We all know that LEGO models are expensive, that they've always been expensive and always WILL be expensive - there's nothing we can do about it other than keep our eyes peeled for LEGO bargains.

LEGO and Star Wars combined are, for me, as perfect as vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce; like the magic of strawberries and cream and the sheer wonderfulness of getting into a hot bath when it's cold and horrible outside.

There are seven 2011 LEGO Star Wars models to choose from, ranging from LEGO Star Wars 7956: Ewok Attack for £17.79 (instead of £25.99) right through to an enormous LEGO Star Wars 7965: Millennium Falcon for £101.60 (instead of £132.99).

May the force be with you when it comes to choosing which LEGO Star Wars to buy!

LEGO Star Wars 2011 Advent Calendar £24.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 30 August, 2011 at 9:00 am

LEGO Star Wars 2011 Advent Calendar £24.99 @ AmazonCalling all LEGO Star Wars fans!

You can now pre-order your LEGO Star Wars 2011 Advent Calendar from Amazon for £24.99 instead of £29.99.

Scheduled for release on 26 September you can make sure you get your LEGO Star Wars 2011 Advent Calendar before they sell out, which they will and FAST!

Ohhhh yes, there'll be lots of v e r y disappointed LEGO Star Wars fans among you when all stock, everywhere, makes the jump to light speed and flies off the virtual shelves in record time.

My ex-mother-in-law has always been in charge of the advent calendars for the kids; she likes buying them for them and whilst the kids adore(d) their chocolate advent calendars (the Teenagers get £5 now to choose what they want to do with it) they could never compete with the absolute sub-zero COOLNESS of this LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar!

You don't get any chocolates with it but what you DO get is all of this:

  • A Pilot Battle Droid, Clone Pilot, Yoda, Chewbacca, Nute Gunray, Zev Senesca, R2-Q5, Mouse Droid, and a TIE Pilot
  • Includes tools rack, weapons rack, Mechano Chair, and a Christmas tree
  • A Republic Gunship, TIE Fighter, Boba Fett's Slave I, X-Wing, Millennium Falcon, A-Wing Starfighter, Imperial Shuttle, Y-wing, Snowspeeder, Homing Spider Droid, Republic Cruiser, and a Dwarf Spider Droid (all are minis)

Instead of opening a door and getting a mini chocolate, that doesn't always taste that good anyway, you will your child will find a little LEGO Star Wars toy to add to their collection.

Now tell me THAT'S not seriously awesome!

By the way - if you don't have a LEGO Star Wars fan to buy for, there is a LEGO City Advent Calendar option too.

Happy LEGO Star Wars Adventing!

LEGO Star Wars Brickmaster £9.47 @ The Book Depository

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 10 May, 2011 at 11:00 am

LEGO Star Wars Brickmaster £9.47 @ The Book DepositoryThe Book Depository are selling this fabulous LEGO Star Wars Brickmaster set for £9.47 instead of £18.99.

Now, if you've clicked on the link already you'll notice that the purchase price is showing as £10.53, to drop the price to £9.47 involves just a couple of extra steps that I'll explain just now.

I love anything LEGO Star Wars even though it's expensive and you get robbed blind every time, even for the little models.

That very fact makes this LEGO Star Wars Brickmaster set really good value.  In the box you get a book (in case you were wondering why an online bookstore was selling LEGO) along with 240 LEGO pieces and two minifigures.

So whilst your young Padawan is reading all about LEGO they can be making eight different Star Wars models from the 240 LEGO bits, along with defeating the Empire...unless they decide they quite like the Dark Side!

Right, to drop the price down to £9.47 you need to enter this discount code to your basket - PPN3WS - however, you might find the voucher code box doesn't appear (it didn't for me).

If it doesn't, click THIS LINK and then go to your basket again (your LEGO Star Wars Brickmaster will still be there) and the voucher code box will have appeared (it did for me), you can enter the code and all will be well with the world.

Delivery is free with The Book Depository too.

Lego Star Wars Clone Turbo Tank £69.01 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 21 April, 2011 at 8:00 am

Lego Star Wars Clone Turbo Tank £69.01 @ AmazonAmazon are currently selling this Lego Star Wars Clone Turbo Tank for £69.01 - it should be £102.99 so grabbing one at this 'low' price now, before Amazon put the price back up, is a smart thing to do.

It's one of the universal truths of life - Lego is expensive, it's always been expensive and will (I have no doubt) always be expensive.

If you have older Star Wars Lego fans then this Lego Star Wars Clone Wars Turbo Tank would make a great main birthday present, OR if you can bear the thought of buying something for Christmas now, then you're going to be ahead of the Crimbo cash saving game already.

My youngest is totally mad about all things space and alien now, it's Star Wars all the way although Darth Vadar is still too scary so he’s not keen on the Empire Strikes Back – he’s having none of it when I tell him that it’s the best of ALL the Star Wars movies!

The other day I was handed a box of lego bits, some instructions and tasked with building this Lego Star Wars Clone Turbo Tank, there were umpteen pages of instructions and it took me more man hours than I care to confess to.

But I had a GREAT time and so did my youngest as he was the ‘foreman’ and I was the ‘builder’ – it was a total win-win situation and I think that’s often the case with these big Lego Star Wars creations.

If YOU’RE the big Star Wars fan then I have a feeling you’re going to love it as it comes packed with lots of extra mini figures and bits and pieces!

3 For 2 Deals - Star Wars, Hello Kitty & Thomas And Friends @ Toys R Us

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 19 March, 2011 at 8:00 am

3 For 2 Deals - Star Wars, Hello Kitty & Thomas And Friends @ Toys R UsToys R Us have some great 3 for 2 deals on all Star Wars (including Star Wars Lego), Thomas and Friends and Hello Kitty Toys - but you'll have to get in quick as this offer ends TOMORROW.

Sometimes deals like this just come along at the right time; my youngest is Star Wars mad and even though his birthday isn't until July, he's already putting together a birthday list of epic proportions.

And on that list are umpteen thousand Lego Star Wars things.  He used to be a Thomas and Friends fan, he still loves the books but he's 'too grown up' for Thomas the Tank Engine toys now apparently (can you hear my bank balance heaving a huge sigh of relief?).

Being a boy, he was never really into Hello Kitty - in fact, he was never into Hello Kitty at ALL but my friend's daughter adores her, or did before SHE got too grown up for such things and decided she wanted to become a fairy instead.

There's free delivery if you're spending over £50 or you can always reserfe online and go and pay instore.

Lego Star Wars Luke's Landspeeder £18.49 @ WHSmith

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 2 March, 2011 at 8:00 am

Lego Star Wars Luke's Landspeeder £18.49 @ WHSmithThose lovely people at WHSmith are selling this Lego Star Wars Luke's Landspeeder for half price - £18.49 instead of £36.99.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again, the marriage between Lego and Star Wars is just magic and I quite often find myself oohing and aaahing over various Lego Star Wars things.

It's rather handy having a young son who's completely Star Wars mad and a BIG Lego fan too – I get to stack up lots of parental brownie points by 'helping' to make things like Luke's Landspeeder, he thinks I’m the greatest thing since…well, forever! AND then we both get to play with them.

This Lego Luke’s Landspeeder is just great, not least because it comes with a fair few of our favourite Star Wars legends: Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, R2-D2, C-3PO, a Sandtrooper and his security droid.

It also has a secret lightsaber compartment (which no self-respecting Jedi’s Landspeeder should be without!) and when it’s built it measures over 6 inches (15 cm) long, over 2 inches (5 cm) wide and over 2 inches (5 cm) tall.

You can choose to have your Lego Star Wars Luke's Landspeeder delivered to your home OR collect it for free at your nearest WHSmith store.

Happy Womp Rat Shooting!

LEGO Star Wars Cad Bane's Speeder £34.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 3 November, 2010 at 8:00 am

LEGO Star Wars Cad Bane's Speeder £34.99 @ ArgosArgos have reduced the price of this LEGO Star Wars Cad Bane's Speeder from £49.99 down to £34.99.

If you read my posts often then you'll know that my youngest is a rabid Lego Star Wars fan and I have to ask, "HOW much Lego Star Wars can one person possibly need?!"

His answer made me laugh, "A LOT mummy and I don't have enough yet!"

The thing with anything Lego Star Wars is that it's not cheap!  Mind you, it seems that can be said for most things that kids want to play with - I guess it's our own fault for accepting the price tags and buying all of this stuff.

However, I'm more inclined to swallow the cost of Lego Star Wars things because...I like playing with it too!

The original Star Wars Trilogy would be part of my Desert Island DVD collection and perhaps some BIG Lego Star Wars pieces to while away the long sundrenched hours spent on an isolated tropical beach....

OK, back to reality!

Cad Bane is a Bounty Hunter from the Prequel days (for those not in the know) and with this Lego Star Wars Cad Bane's Speeder set you not only get all the necessary bits and pieces to build it, but also five mini figures including Cad Bane, Pirate Shahan Alama, Senate Commando, Senate Commando Officer and Elite Assassin Droid.

Lego Star Wars Dictionary £10.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 23 October, 2010 at 11:00 am

Lego Star Wars Dictionary £10.99 @ AmazonMy youngest is a HUGE Lego Star Wars fan and will love this LEGO Star Wars dictionary.

I must confess to being a bit of a LEGO Star Wars fan too - I've completed the first LEGO Star Wars Trilogy (that's episodes IV, V and VI) on the Xbox 360 with 100% you know!

My youngest loves details. He wants to know the ins and outs of everything; the what, the how, the why, the how big, the how small, the how many...it's relentless.

This LEGO Star Wars Dictionary will satisfy his curiosity on all things Lego and Star Wars and beyond; hurrah!

It comes with an exclusive action figure and has 96 pages PACKED with colour photos and details about the weapons, battle stations and even the Death Star (that's no moon...that's a battle station!)

They'll also learn all about the LEGO versions of Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Yoda, Luke Skywalker and discover hundreds of little known facts about the Star Wars characters.

There is also a ton of information on the history, manufacture and construction of Star Wars LEGO.

Amazon have reduced the price of the LEGO Star Wars Dictionary, for now, from £16.99 to £10.99 - may the Force be with us and make Amazon keep this price as it is for a fair while!

LEGO Star Wars Echo Base £14.71 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 23 September, 2010 at 9:00 am

LEGO Star Wars Echo Base £14.71 @ AmazonAttention all Star Wars fans! Amazon have Lego Star Wars Echo Base sets on offer for £14.71 instead of £21.99.

I know that Lego is supposed to be for kids, but boy is Lego Star Wars a GREAT excuse for parents to play with it too!

My youngest loves anything Lego Star Wars - we spent a good hour playing it on the PS3 a few evenings back, apparently I was rubbish! - and I must confess that I'm very happy when someone buys him a new Lego Star Wars something or other, because it means I have to help him out, well he is only four.

There are 155 pieces that fit together to make the Echo Base and you'll get a hefty instruction booklet which shows you how it all fits together.

LEGO Star Wars Echo Base £14.71 @ AmazonLego Star Wars has  been around for 10 years now (can you believe it!) and everyone knows that the Empire Strikes Back is the best of all the films - the Echo Base comes from Empire and it features an Imperial repeating blaster, the first-ever Tauntaun figure (I always wanted to have a Tauntaun!) and 5 mini figures, including Han Solo.

Delivery is free, as always, if you choose the Super Saver option.

Happy Echo Base building!

Lego Star Wars Tie Defender £26.65 @ Sainsburys

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 16 September, 2010 at 11:00 am

Lego Star Wars Tie Defender £26.65 @ SainsburysI am a Lego Star Wars pro! My youngest is utterly crazy about it all an he would be SUPER excited if he knew Sainsbury's had knocked a third off the price of this Lego Star Wars Tie Defender!

I'm not sure if he's just savy but he can spot a 'half price 'or '1/3 off' sticker from a hundred paces, either that or my perennial bargain hunting has rubbed off!

But forget him, I quite fancy the look of this Lego Star Wars Tie Defender myself - it can be quite theraputic and soothing following the instructions and building Lego models you know.

There are 304 pieces which would keep me and my youngest amused for ages (we'd build it together, obviously) and is a great start to the collection of Empire ships - you really can't have the Rebellion without anyone to rebel against now, can you!

It also comes with a Stormtrooper and Tie Fighter Pilot mini figure, six flick firing missiles AND the cockpit rotates when you fly the ship and turn it, just like they do 'in the real' - brilliant!

So, if you want one of these Lego Star Wars Tie Defenders it will cost you £26.65 instead of £39.99, and if you don't want to collect it in store then standard delivery is £3.95.

I am an expert when it comes to building Lego Star Wars Clone Wars space ships!

My youngest is totally mad about all things space and alien now; it's Ben 10 Alien Force and Star Wars all the way although Darth Vadar is still too scary so he's not keen on the Empire Strikes Back - he's having none of it when I tell him that it's the best of ALL the Star Wars movies!

The other day I was handed a box of lego bits, some instructions and tasked with building a Lego Star Fighter something or other (there are so many I can't remember which is which), there were 30 pages of instructions and it took me about 45 minutes.

I had a GREAT time and so did my youngest as he was the 'foreman' and I was the 'builder' - it was a total win-win situation and I think that's often the case with these big Lego Star Wars creations.

LEGO Star Wars Luke's Landspeeder £19.93 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 25 June, 2010 at 8:00 am

LEGO Star Wars Luke's Landspeeder £19.93 @ AmazonI always wanted a Landspeeder so I could shoot Womp Rats just like Luke Skywalker

I've said it before, but I'll say it again, the marriage between Lego and Star Wars is just magic and I quite often find myself oohing and aaahing over various Lego St Wars things.

I'm so grateful I have a young boy who is a BIG Star Wars fan and loves Lego too - I get to stack up lots of parental brownie points, he thinks I'm the greatest thing since...well, forever! AND I get to 'help' build all the Lego Star Wars models and play with them.
