Celebaby: The Breastapo

Celebaby: The BreastapoBrace yourselves for the potential hornet's nest about to be kicked open...

Both Myleene Klass  and Kym Marsh have spoken out in the press about breastfeeding and how the 'Breastapo' should be very careful about ramming their militant opinions and criticism down new mothers throats

Good for them!!! It's about time some high profile mothers said something.

I didn't breastfeed any of my children - I didn't WANT to! - and OHHH my goodness, to some people this was tantamount to child abuse and they took great pleasure, in sanctimonious and lecturing tones, to tell me so.

Kym Marsh was on the receiving end of such treatment just recently, on Twitter, for not breastfeeding her new daughter Polly; some so-called fans accused her of not doing so simply to protect her boob job.

"How dare they go on to a site and call me those names and judge me when they know nothing about the situation? I’m not going to have small-minded cowards that hide behind a computer question my dedication to my child. It’s the most disgusting thing I’ve read."

Kym's explained her reasons for not breastfeeding are because of insufficient milk production; I don't see why she should HAVE to explain, it's no one elses damn business!

Myleene has also stepped into the arguement.

Her second daughter, Hero, is 11 weeks old now and is being breastfeed; Myleene's take on it all is this...

"I breastfeed for my family, not to pacify the Breastapo.

I think people should be very careful when it comes to judging how others raise their children. Aren't we all just doing the best we can? Besides, you never know what a person's circumstances are."

Quite right!

It can work both ways though; women who continue to breastfeed their children for years often have to defend their right to do so, and can be called the most horrendous names.

This is just as bad in my opinion; how dare ANYONE criticise anyone else on this issue.  It's a deeply personal thing and there are enough parenting issues to feel guilty about without this being one of them.

Supporters of both sides of the arguement...you are now free to fire at will!

Celebaby: Kym Marsh's New Arrival

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 29 March, 2011 at 11:00 am

Celebaby: Kym Marsh's New ArrivalHURRAH!  Kim Marsh's baby daughter has safely arrived into the world and both mum and baby are fabulously well according to her spokesperson...

Jamie Lomas and Kym Marsh are delighted to announce that they are the proud parents of a baby girl, Polly Lomas.

Polly was born on Wednesday evening weighing 4lb 1oz

What a rocky ride it's been for her too and she's admitted that this pregnancy has been tough.

Speaking to New, she said, "Yeah, there have been times I've been very down. You can go full term and still not end up with your baby. The only time it's certain is when your baby is in your arms. My experience with Archie taught me that."

Kim lost Archie in 2009 when he was born 18 weeks early.

It was discovered earlier THIS year that Kim has an incompetent cervix and a stitch was put in place to try and prevent this baby arriving too early.

Kim believes that the heartache of losing Archie in 2009 brought her and her partner, Jamie Lomas, much closer together, "Yeah, definitely. I think if you can get through something like the death of a child, you can get through anything together."

I daren't even begin to imagine...

I'm thrilled that this pregnancy story has had a happy ending and can't wait to see the pictures of this new little addition to their family!

Congrats!!

Celebaby: Kym Marsh In Hospital

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 15 February, 2011 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Kym Marsh In HospitalI can't even begin to imagine the utter despair of losing a child; I have to 'not go there' for long, it's too horrific to contemplate.

Kym Marsh is 27 weeks pregnant with a little girl and is currently in hospital and being very closely monitored.

She lost a baby last year, Archie, when he was born 18 weeks early and medics are keen to make sure this doesn't happen again.

She's been prescribed steroids to help the baby's lungs develop and has, apparently, been diagnosed with an 'incompetent cervix' - surely there has to be a better way to describe it other than incompetent, it almost makes it sound like it has a choice in the matter.

Kym has recently said that this will be her last child, "I couldn't go through this again, it's too heartbreaking. I can definitely say my childbearing days are over, I'm just not equipped to deal with it at the grand old age of 34."

Doctors have put a stitch in her cervix to protect her tiny daughter (mine just ran away at the thought of that!) Kym says, "It will all be worth it if she arrives here safely. I have no doubt that whenever she gets here she'll be A1. She's our little miracle, that's for sure."

Kym's been in hospital for a week already and is hoping to be allowed home soon.

Everyone here at PlayPennies wishes her all the best and have our fingers tightly crossed (which makes typing quite tricky actually!)

Celebaby: Peter Get Royal Invite and No More Twitter For Kym Marsh

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 1 February, 2011 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Peter Get Royal Invite and No More Twitter For Kym MarshFormer Celebrity Dad of the Year has reportedly been invited to the Royal wedding at the end of April!  How very bizarre, I've never seen any hint that 'Peader' was 'bezzie mates' with Wills or Kate.

A couple of things I think we can pretty certain of though is 1) his ex-wife Katie Price won't be invited and 2) she'll be hopping mad about that he has been.

Twitter has become the celebrity social networking method of choice. They're all at it and the vast majority of the planet lap up everything their fav' celeb' has to say, from the breaking news to the inane 'just got up...URGH'.

Kym Marsh, however, has gone the other way and deleted her Twitter account.

Tweeting that she didn't feel BBC's Waterloo Road should have won the 'Best Drama' award at the National Television Awards last week, rather upset fans of the show and they took to her Twitter account en masse!

Hollyoaks actor Gerard McCarthy explained all on HIS Twitter account (where else!?)...

"Guys, just spoke to Lady Marsh... All is fine. She just decided to delete her account due to the NTA fiasco & people being nasty to her (sic). She is pregnant & her number one priority is her baby so it's really not worth letting a handful of idiots cause her unnecessary stress."

Celebaby: Marsh Marches On

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 28 October, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Marsh Marches OnIn February last year Kym Marsh, best known for being in Corrie these days, had a baby boy 18 weeks early - he tragically died moments after he was born.

I have no idea how people survive that sort of loss, and can only sit here in admiration of all those who have the courage to go on and try again for a family.

Kym Marsh's 'people' have announced that Kym and her fiance, Jamie Lomas, are expecting again following positive results of a 12-week scan.

Kym Marsh and Jamie Lomas are delighted to announce they are expecting a baby together.

They are very appreciative of the love and support that has come their way in the last 12 months, but they won't be saying anything further about Kym's pregnancy for the moment.

They have confirmed this news now as both Kym and Jamie feel they'd like to be able to share their happiness with family, friends and colleagues.

I've got my fingers, toes and everything else, well and truly crossed that this pregnancy story has a happy ending!
