Ben 10 Alien Force Bike £50 @ Asda

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 4 May, 2012 at 9:00 am

Ben 10 Alien Force Bike £50 @ AsdaAsda are selling this Ben 10 Alien Force bike for £50, the usual price is £65.

Bikes are a big deal when you're little; I often had a bike as my main birthday present and remember clear as day riding my brand new Raleigh Racer 'Whisper' home from the bike shop when I was about 13.

This Ben 10 Alien Force  bike is for young bike riders a little younger than that - around four years old - and has 14" (35cm) spoked wheels with air-filled tyres.

The chain is fully enclosed behind a printed chainguard (so no caught up trouser legs) along with front and rear brakes.  It also comes with removable stabilisers, has adjustable handlebar height and seat height.

It has a bright Ben 10 green saddle and handle bar grips and a Ben 10 printed bumper thingy across the handle bar cross bar.

You can arrange to collect your Ben 10 Alien Force bike in-store for free, or you can pay £2.95 for standard home delivery, which takes between two and five working days.

Sunbeam 14" Boys Bike £52 @ Tesco Direct

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 16 April, 2011 at 9:00 am

Sunbeam 14" Boys Bike £52 @ Tesco DirectTesco Direct are selling this Sunbeam 14" boys bike for less than half price - it was originally a staggering £130 but has been reduced to, a slightly less painful, £52.

Being VERY excited about a new bike is, I think, one of those universal laws.  It doesn' t matter how old you are or where you live in the world, getting a new bike is VERY cool.

The Teenagers' birthdays are both in November and even though the new bike excitement was off the scale, having to dress up like Scott of the Antarctic wasn't so much fun.

My youngest's birthday is July, a much more civilised month to be playing outside on your birthday present bike!

This Sunbeam bike has a very macho tank/camouflage design and has a tough 10" steel mini mountain bike style frame and a comfort padded saddle. It has 14" spoked wheels with stabilisers and a colour matching handlebar pad.

The Sunbeam "Tank" also comes with front and rear fitted mudguards and brakes and has an inside leg measurement of 40-51cm.

It's suitable for little cyclists aged three years or over.

Disney Balance Bike £15 @ Sports Direct

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 4 April, 2011 at 11:00 am

Disney Balance Bike £15 @ Sports DirectSports Direct are selling these Disney balance bikes for half price - £15 each instead of £29.99

We've had numerous discussions about balance bikes in the PlayPennies office: are they just weird and have their pedals missing? Or are they fabulous and make learning to ride a bike much easier?

We've still not come to any conclusions but, for my money, I think they're a bit odd and I can't see HOW they make the transition to a bike with pedals quicker and easier - feel free to enlighten me.

Anyway, these two Disney balance bikes have adjustable seats so it doesn't matter if your little rider is shorter or taller for their age.

Unless you go to a bike shop, you'll find that most bikes are delivered in pieces and these Disney balance bikes are no exception - at the very least you're probably going to have to attach the wheels and possibly the handle bars.

Delivery within 24 hours will cost you £5.99, standard delivery takes a little longer and costs £3.99.

Half Price Toy Story Bike £44.90 @ B&Q

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 4 December, 2010 at 8:00 am

Half Price Toy Story Bike £44.90 @ B&QBikes are traditional BIG Christmas pressies, if you’re looking for a Toy Story one then pop over to B&Q (yes I know that sounds a bit weird and that it should be Halfords, but I promise it's B&Q you want for this Toy Story Bike).

I remember getting a bike for Christmas when I was little – it was a metalic lilac colour and had a little white single panier thing on the back for putting important things in, like my tea set and a book!

I remember getting a bike for Christmas when I was older – it was a Raleigh Racer and I LOVED it!

It doesn’t seem to matter how cold it is on Christmas day, if you’re the proud owner of a new bike you’re going to RIDE it! Nothing short of three feet of snow is going to stop you!

The Toy Story Bike has 14" wheels, a brightly coloured and printed tubular steel frame, front and back caliper brakes, adjustable saddle and handle bars and those all important stabilisers for the first few shaky months of learning how to ride.

The rrp for this Toy Story bike is £89.98 but Halfords have slashed that price for you and you can grab one for £44.90 by reserving it for  in-store collection online and pay when you pick it up.

With whispers that some Christmas deliveries might not make it on time due to the chaos and backlog caused by the snow,  nipping out to your local B&Q to collect this Toy Story Bike yourself suddenly sounds like a great idea!
