Unless you've left the planet to visit the moon you will not be able to avoid the 'top news of the day' that Katie Holmes has filed for divorce from Tom Cruise and is seeking sole custody of their daughter Suri.

According to the news - and I mean all news , it was even on Classic FM news on the radio this morning! - Tom was completely unaware that this shock news was heading his way.  The only statement that's been made by his 'people' so far is that he's 'deeply saddened by the news and is concentrating on his three children.

There are some things I think we can safely agree on

1. Regardless of how weird anyone thinks he is, or how 'odd' their marriage was, it's still sad when marriages fail, particularly when there are children involved.  Let's face it, no one gets married expecting things to fall apart (or at least not many) and
2. It'll probably get nasty!

Before Tom and Katie got married a pre-nuptial agreement was signed; it states that Katie would only get $3 million for every year of marriage, plus their home in California.

Only $3 million (I can see you rolling your eyebrows from here!), so as they've been married for only five years, Katie is only set to receive $15m - if she'd been able to stick it out for 11 years she would have been able to claim half of their combined $275 million estate.

Some are saying that's why she's filed for sole custody of six-year-old Suri - so she can claim, and has done so, if what we read and hear is true, 'substanstial' child support.

For a little girl with a wardrobe rumoured to be worth in excess of $3 million you can begin to image what that 'substantial' figure may amount to each year.

I'm sure this news will receive top billing for days and weeks to come rather than other things far more worthy of our attention, such as today being Armed Forces Day - you wouldn't sell many trashy red tops with that as your leading headline though would you!

Ohhh the top of that particular soap box is so high it would take me days to reach the summit, so I think I'll wrap this up now and just say RIP the marriage of Mr and Mrs Tom Cruise (for the third time) instead.

It would seem that to be a REAL celebrity you have to wear high heels come what may.

Whether you're playing football in the park with your son (Victoria Beckham), playing on the beach with your daughter (Katie Holmes) or backpacking up a mountain in Peru (I made that last one up) appropriate shoes are clearly NOT the done thing to be seen in.

Tell me, have we seen Victoria Beckham wearing anything other than black since her pregnancy was made public? I don't think so.

I have a very clear image in my head of a magazine shoot featuring VB wearing baggy dungarees (not done up over the shoulders, I hasten to add), a white vest top and sand coloured CAT boots; I even think she was smiling and she looked great, a far cry from the miserable looking 'black widow' character we have today.

I wonder if that picture is lurking around on the Internet somewhere, perhaps I should send it to her as a reminder that she doesn't ALWAYS have to teeter around in high heels.

Victoria was recently snapped strolling across a grass park in 5-inch heels whilst her youngest son Cruz played football.  Surely something FLAT wouldn't have been such a trauma; I'm telling you, she's going to have terrible bunions by the time she's 50!

(I do quite like that long sheer cardigan though...even if it is BLACK!)

Here's another pair wearing heels in the most inappropriate place!

I don't get it.  It's no fun having to walk on anything soft in heels - you feel stupid and you LOOK stupid too.

The Cruise family attended a Memorial Day beach party yesterday in Malibu; Katie and Suri wandered off down to the beach to play on the sand for a while in their heels.

Now I don't know about you but I'd have taken my shoes OFF.  I love feeling hot sand beneath my feet and I wouldn't want to trash my party shoes either.

Clearly this is why I'm not a celebrity - I just don't have what it takes on the one hand and too much common sense on the other.

In today's Celebaby we rejoice at Suri Cruise looking like a normal four-year-old and wonder if Angelina really is about to quit Hollywood.

OHHH my heart jumped for joy when I saw these delicious pictures of Suri Cruise barefoot, wearing a simple little summer dress and without a scrap of makeup on!

Just LOOK at how cute she is when she's not dressed up to the nines.  I have to say, the same goes for Katie too who looks about 10 when she's dressed like the rest of us.

Katie is currently filming for the mini-series 'The Kennedys' in which she plays the part of Jackie Onassis, during a break in the proceedings she whisked Suri off for a bit strawberry picking.

I wonder if they played the game we always used to play as kids at the Pick Your Own place?  'One strawberry for me and one for the tub, one strawberry for me and one for the tub'...

And so the Brangelina band wagon continues to roll and the speculation  and rumour that Angelina's preggars again have been squashed in a recent interview she did with Vanity Fair.

Mother of six (I can't comprehend having that many kids running around the house) Ang' spoke very candidly about the personalities of all her children and, whilst emphatically denying that she was pregnant, didn't rule out having more children...

"I'm not pregnant. We're not opposed to it. But we want to make sure we can give everybody special time," she also went on to  say, "They're kids now, and can play together, but they're going to need a lot more talking in the middle of the night, like I did with my mom for hours. We want to make sure we don't build a family so big that we don't have absolutely enough time to raise them each really well."

Angelina has just finished filming 'The Tourist' in which she plays an Interpol agent also hinted that she might be about to quit Hollywood to spend more time with the fmaily, and had this to say about her acting career...

"It is not the most important thing in my life, it’s a fun job. It’s a luxury, but I don’t think I’ll do it much longer."

And with all those millions of dollars in the bank, I 'd say she doesn't need to.
