In The Night Garden Jigsaw Puzzle £3.50 @ The Entertainer

There’s 50% off  this In The Night Garden Jigsaw Puzzle at The Entertainer – or The Toyshop.com – at the moment. It’s selling for £3.50 instead of £7 and can be collected for free.

If you have an In The Night Garden fan in your house, you might like this puzzle, especially at this price.

Featuring Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and a glimpse of Makka Pakka lounging together in one of their homes, your 3+ child should have a bit of fun with this 25 piece puzzle.

Apparently building jigsaws builds confidence and logical thinking, as well as giving a sense of achievement, so this could be a winner all round. The pieces are thick with rounded edges to make it easier for little hands to hold, while developing hand-eye co-ordination.

It doesn’t say how big the completed image is, unfortunately.

In The Night Garden Goodnight Friend Iggle Piggle £13.49 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 8 October, 2011 at 9:00 am

In The Night Garden Goodnight Friend Iggle Piggle £13.49 @ AmazonAmazon have dropped the price of this In the Night Garden Goodnight Friend Iggle Piggle down to £13.49 from £20.99.

And I suggest you DO rush too - I don't trust Amazon not to put the price of this rather delightful light-up Iggle Piggle back up again, so if you have an Iggle Piggle fan in your family and the price is still sitting at £13.49, as you read this, then you might want to snap him up.

This plush Goodnight Friend Iggle Piggle comes with lantern, storybook and removable pyjama and slipper accessories.

His pyjamas and slippers are removable and if you're having problems coaxing your young one to bed, then this Goodnight Iggle Piggle might just be your cute and cuddly knight with shining lantern!

When it's time for bed, your child can help Iggle Piggle get into his pyjamas and slippers so he's all ready for sleeping.

Then, by the light of his lantern (and perhaps a bedside light too) it'll be story time for all of you; after that turn the lantern out and Iggle Piggle and your child can look after each other for the night time.

This In the Night Garden Goodnight Iggle Piggle is suitable for youngsters aged 18 months and older, and he comes with the two AAA batteries that he needs too.

In The Night Garden Talking Upsy Daisy £9.97 @ Tesco Direct

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 9 September, 2011 at 11:00 am

In The Night Garden Talking Upsy Daisy £9.97 @ Tesco DirectI have to admit that Upsy Daisy isn't my favourite In the Night Garden character, but if you have a young girly who loves her then you might want to pick up one of these Talking Upsy Daisy dolls from Tesco.

You see, Tesco Direct are selling her for £9.97, whereas Toys R Us are asking £16.97 and Play, £18.49 - which makes her a bit of a bargain if you're quick.

I'm assuming that In the Night Garden is still as popular with little ones; it's been a few years since I've seen it as my youngest, and all his friends, are, and I quote, "too big for In the Night Garden now!"

Talking Upsy Daisy is soft and plush - ideal for cuddling - and plays various fun sounds and In the Night Garden music.

She takes an AA battery, which is included, and is suitable for Upsy Daisy fans who are three years or older.

You won't pay anything for delivery either, if you arrange to collect her from your nearest Tesco store.

Vtech In The Night Garden Sing and Slide Nursery Book £8.00 @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 21 June, 2011 at 10:00 am

Vtech In The Night Garden Sing and Slide Nursery Book £8.00 @ TescoTesco Direct are selling this Vtech In the Night Garden Sing and Slide nursery book for just less than half price, it's £8.00 instead of £16.97.

The In The Night Garden Vtech Sing and Slide nursery book is just the sort of thing young babies and toddlers love; it's fun, it has bells and whistles and lights and it's typical Vtech 'making learning fun' .

When they press the Upsy Daisy and Igglepiggle buttons your child will hear their sounds and songs and can watch the lights flash along in time.

Reviews from other people who already have this In The Night Garden Vtech Sing and Slide nursery book read like this...

"My grandson loves the In the Night Garden Vtech Nursery book which I bought him for christmas. It is very sturdy and also well made. It holds his attention for quite a long period of time as there are quite a few things to do on each page. The talking and singing voices are the same as the T.V program."

The one thing lots of people say is that it's quite heavy and little toes have been squashed when it's been dropped on them; something to consider if you're massively over protective perhaps.

Batteries are included and it's suitable for little ones aged 6 months or older.

Delivery costs almost as much as the book, so I'd click and collect in-store.

2 In The Night Garden Activity Books £3.99 @ Red House Books

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 12 May, 2011 at 12:00 pm

2 In The Night Garden Activity Books £3.99 @ Red House Books Those lovely folks at Red House Books are selling these two In the Night Garden activity books for toddlers for £3.99 instead of £7.98.

I love activity books, they are a great way to keep toddlers amused and provides a opportunity to teach them that some books are appropriate for drawing in and others aren't.

You see, I love books and I can get a bit precious when it comes to looking after them – I can’t stand broken spines, bent corners and pages that have been written on, so activity books are GREAT because they’re designed to be ‘lived in’ (I can’t think of a better way to describe how loved activity books look).

Your child can take a pen to the pages and not worry that they’re going to be told, “STOP! Noooo you musn’t draw in books!”

These In the Night Garden activity books are perfect for young In the Night Garden fans;  in Happy Garden! the stickers are BIG enough to be handled easily with little hands and they can create their own In the Night Garden scenes on the fold-out front cover.

In Hello Makka Pakka! your little one will have the freedom to draw, colour and scribble all over the pages; there are brilliant press-out and play pieces which are also big enough for titchy fingers.

If you find other books to take your fancy and your order comes to more than £15 then you'll qualify for free delivery, otherwise there's a single item delivery charge of £1.95.

Happy drawing in books *shudder*

In The Night Garden DVD Box Set £9.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 22 February, 2011 at 9:00 am

In The Night Garden DVD Box Set £9.99 @ AmazonAll aboard the Pinky Ponk! Amazon are selling this In the Night Garden: Hello Everybody! DVD box set for £9.99 insteadof £22.99

If you've never seen In the Night Garden then I'd like you to go and watch a couple of episodes, then come back and explain it to me.  After three or so years of watching it, I still don't get it.

I was expecting dusky evening scenes and quiet bedtime stories, read by someone like Bernard Cribbins but NO! What I got instead was BRIGHT colours, broad daylight and crazy frenzied capers from Iggle Piggle, Upsey Daisy, Makka Pakka and the Tombliboos.

By all accounts In the Night Garden is the product of extensive research into how young children learn, watch and play and In the Night Garden ticks all those boxes; programming genius then...I still don't get it, I think it's totally bonkers.

These In The Night Garden DVDs have over nine hours of In the Night Garden fun to enjoy and if you manage to bag a set at the lower price of £9.99, before Amazon start messing around with the price, then I'm sure you'll enjoy that too.

Free delivery, and all that Makka Pakka malarky, with the SuperSaver deal too!

In The Night Garden Rocker £9.99 @ Play.com

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 12 February, 2011 at 11:00 am

In The Night Garden Rocker £9.99 @ Play.comPlay.com are selling this In The Night Garden Rocker for £9.99 instead of £29.99

When I first read 'In the Night Garden Rocket' I got an instant mental image of Iggle Piggle with shades and a leather jacket on, going a bit of Guitar Hero, but alas this was not to be.

Instead an In the Night Garden Rocker is a sit-on toy that rocks - awesome for any In the Night Garden fans and great for kids who have no interest in rocking toys that look like horses.

It features Iggle Piggle on the front, has Upsy Daisy on the back and the In the Night Garden logo on the side.

If you've never watched In the Night Garden then you really should make a point of watching at least one episode - I'm still undecided as to whether it's sheer genius or just completely bonkers.

There's no delivery to pay on orders to be delivered within the UK so £9.99 is the total amount you'll be parting with for an In the Night Garden Rocker.

In The Night Garden Desk And Stool £19.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 26 January, 2011 at 9:00 am

In The Night Garden Desk And Stool £19.99 @ AmazonThis rather cute pink In The Night Garden desk and stool is currently being sold for £19.99 instead of £79.99.

It took me a g e s to get my head around In the Night Garden.  I just didn’t get it!

BRIGHT colours, broad daylight and crazy frenzied capers from Iggle Piggle, Upsey Daisy (they are SO girlfriend and boyfriend, I don’t care what anyone says!), Makka Pakka and the Tombliboos; rather than the dusky evening scenes and quiet bedtime stories, read by someone like Bernard Cribbins, that I was expecting.

If you’ve never experienced In the Night Garden before then you must! I feel it should be a 21st century parental right of passage!

It’s either been written by absolute geniuses whose cleverness with kids programming is THAT good that it goes right over my head, OR they are just completely bonkers – perhaps it’s a bit of both.

And just watch out for Amazon’s up and down price-shifting – that’s almost as bonkers as the Night Garden itself!

What can I tell you about this In The Night Garden desk and stool?  It's a desk that comes with a stool, that's pretty and pink and is decorated with In The Night Garden characters and scenes and all the reviews wax lyrical about it.

You need to put it together but its dead easy and your daughter will love it.

In The Night Garden Desk And Chair £19.99 @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 12 January, 2011 at 11:00 am

In The Night Garden Desk And Chair £19.99 @ Amazon

I'm not sure whether anyone ever actually paid the £79.99 RRP for this, but Amazon currently have it at £19.99, a massive £60.00 saving.

The desk and chair are suitable for ages 3 – 7, but one of the Amazon reviewers bought it and her two year old fits perfectly and loves it.

According to the reviews on Amazon, this In the Night Garden Desk and Chair is easy to assemble, with all the bits just slotting and then clipping in together, and requiring no tools.

The desk has a foot rest and a shelf with two pen pots, and is large enough for books. The chair is sturdy and there is also a foot rest.

The desk and chair together weigh 5kg, and shipping is an additional £19.99.

Amazon also has a similar Thomas and Friends desk and chair, which was £69.99 and is now £19.99 too.

Judging by the reviews, these seem to be good little drawing or homework desks.

Iggle Piggle Pyjama Case £7.50 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 23 December, 2010 at 8:00 am

Iggle Piggle Pyjama Case £7.50 @ Amazon

Amazon have slashed the price of this huge Iggle Piggle pyjama case from £24.99 right down to £7.50

And I suggest you DO rush too - I don't trust Amazon not to whack the price of this up again, so if you have an Iggle Piggle fan in your family and the price is still sitting at £7.50 then you might want to snap him up.

I know the title is 'Iggle Piggle Pyjmama Case' but he can also be used as a hot water bottle cover too - either way he's lovely and cuddly and cosy and will, I'm sure, become a very firm bedtime favourite.

People who've already bought one are more than happy with him and have this to say:

"I bought this for my 2 year old son's birthday, as he loves "In the Night Garden". It's got a fair bit of space inside for pyjamas, but I was very impressed with the size of it! It's as big as my son! He loves it, and it looks lovely on his bed. Well-made too."

"I've bought this for my 2-year-old for Christmas and know she'll love it. However, it is quite big, much bigger than a standard sized hot water bottle and is going to take up a fair amount of space in her cot. I had expected it to include the hot water bottle but it didn't."

So there you have it - he's big, well made but doesn't include a hot water bottle.

In The Night Garden Little Library Books £3.47 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 17 July, 2010 at 10:00 am

In The Night Garden Little Library Books £3.47 @ AmazonCarrying on my In the Night Garden theme of the morning...

...after spending the day skating on your Iggle Piggle roller skates you are a very tired little toddler.

You've had dinner and a nice warm bath, now you're all wrapped up and cosy in pyjamas, snuggled under the duvet and are waiting to read your In the Night Garden Little Libaray books with mum and/or dad (or grandparents I suppose!). What better way to end a perfect In the Night Garden day!

These Little Library books are so popular; my youngest has a few different versions of them and I've bought these In The Night Garden ones to give as presents on more than on occasion.

They come presented in a sturdy slip case so you can keep them all together. Each book is stong and chunky making the pages easy to turn, and perfect, for little hands to hold.

In The Night Garden Little Library Books £3.47 @ AmazonThe pictures are bright and colourful, the number of words is just right making each book just the right length for young attention spans.

Amazon have reduced the price of these from £4.99 down to £3.47 and that's the delivered price if you choose the SuperSaver deal.

In the Night Garden Iggle Piggle Skate Set £8.93 @ The Hut

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 17 July, 2010 at 8:00 am

In the Night Garden Iggle Piggle Skate Set £8.93 @ The HutI have fond memories of skating as a kid - this In the Night Garden 'Iggle Piggle' skate set is bound to create some great ones for you and your child.

Last night I was in my bedroom sorting through various things when my teenage daughter came and sprawled over my bed, what followed was one of those trips down memory lane that managed to vanish two hours in a what felt like a couple of minutes.

It was lovely! "Do you remember when I drew kisses for you with permanent marker on the wallpaper all the way from the front door to your bedroom?" I do.

"Do you remember when I first rode my bike without stabilisers?" I have very fond memories of that and photographs too!

Learning to skate is great for kids, they just see the HUGE amount of fun it brings but it teaches balance and coordination and, pretty quickly, whats needed so you can spend more time skating than falling over.

In the Night Garden Iggle Piggle Skate Set £8.93 @ The HutFalling over is inevitable so this In the Night Garden Iggle Piggle skate set comes with a vented safety helmet  and high impact knee and elbow pads which fasten with velcro (or a velcroesque alternative; I don't want to infringe trademark malarky!). The skates are worn over shoes and will fit little feet between size five and 11.

The Hut have slashed the price of these from £26.99 down to £8.93 and there's no postage to pay as all UK orders are delivered for freeee!

In the Night Garden Bean Toys £2.98 @ Tesco Direct

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 9 July, 2010 at 8:00 pm

In the Night Garden Bean Toys £2.98 @ Tesco DirectIf you've got a child under the age of five then you know all about the Night Garden. This is a hit CBBC show, a sort of Teletubbies for bedtime. Tesco Direct are selling a selection of soft bean toy characters from the show for half price. Marked down from £5.97 to £2.98. Delivery is free if you can collect from a store (see the site for stores offering this service).

When we looked the characters available were Iggle Piggle, Makka Pakka, and Upsy Daisy. The recommended age is from one year upwards.

My son went through the In the Night Garden phase when he was 2 until he was nearly 4. This was two years of everything having to be Iggle Piggle or Makka Pakka. It can be almost relentless, but what I liked about this show was its association with being calm, and quiet, and preparing the children for bed. It was a part of our routine - dinner, bath, Night Garden then up to bed for a story.

In the Night Garden Bean Toys £2.98 @ Tesco DirectBecause of this he loved to have his Night Garden toys in bed with him. Not all that comfortable when they're made of hard plastic! At that time, these little toys weren't available, and I really do wish they were. Much cheaper than having to buy the really big soft plush toys.

In the Night Garden Fleece £3.50 @ Tesco Direct

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 2 July, 2010 at 8:00 am

In the Night Garden Fleece £3.50 @ Tesco DirectIt's cloudy and chilly in my little part of the world this morning, so kicking off this PlayPennies Friday with an In the Night Garden fleece blanket seems more than appropriate.

What did we do in a world before fleece?! When I was a kid there was no such thing as pulling on a fleece jumper on a cool summer evening, there was no such thing as curling up under a fleece blanket on the sofa and feeling instantly warm!

It was heavy blankets and thick woollen jumpers all the way; not such a big deal when you're not the one who has to wash and dry them, they took up a lot of space in the washing machine and an inordinate amount of time to dry.

It's no wonder we all took anything made of fleece to our hearts - it's light, doesn't take up a lot of room, it's warm and cosy, easy to wash and comes out of the washing machine almost as dry as it was when it went in.

In the Night Garden Fleece £3.50 @ Tesco DirectThis In the Night Garden fleece is brightly coloured, features Iggle Piggle, is washable up to 40 degrees and Tesco have reduced it down from £7 to £3.50 - collect it for free from your local store and save  yourself the enormous £5 delivery charge.

In The Night Garden Alarm Clock £2.09 @ M&M Direct

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 19 June, 2010 at 8:00 am

In The Night Garden Alarm Clock £2.09 @ M&M Direct*Sing along now everyone* YES! My name is Iggle Piiiiigle, Iggle, Iggle, Wiggle, Iggle Piiiigle!

It amuses me greatly that there are In the Night Garden alarm clocks. Each episode begins with a little child going to sleep and ends with everyone going to bed along with the dulcit tones of Derek Jacobi telling us that, "Someone's not in bed...Iggle Piggle's not in bed!"

The Night Garden is a place that 'lives' somewhere in between being awake and asleep and after all the adventures are done everyone goes to sleep, "Goodnight Maka Paka; goodnight Tombliboos; goodnight Upsey Daisy." None of them have an alarm clock!

But maybe it's just my strange sense of humour that finds this funny and is of no consequence really because all young kiddies I know enjoy having clocks in their bedrooms. I think it has something to do with feeling 'grown up' because the desire for a clock of their own seems to emerge before they can even tell the time.

In The Night Garden Alarm Clock £2.09 @ M&M DirectThe clock has an hour, minute and second hand (handy really, for a clock!), an alarm function and requires 1 AA battery which isn't included.  It's made of plastic and features Iggle Piggle on the face and is bound to be a big hit with your little ITNG fan.

M&M Direct have reduced their stock of In The Night Garden alarm clocks from £12.99 to £2.09 and even with the £3.99 delivery cost, is still a nice little bargain.

In The Night Garden - 8 Books-In-A-Bag £8.09 @ The Book PeopleMakka Pakka, Akka Wakka, Mikka Makka Moo! Makka Pakka, Appa Yakka, Ikka Akka Ooo!!!

I remember when In The Night Garden first aired on TV - I didn't get it.  I come from the Teletubby-parent era and I got them and In The Night Garden just didn't do anything for me at all.

But then I suppose it's not FOR me and my youngest quickly fell in love with Makka Pakka (and yes I know ALL the lyrics to his little song) and the Pinky Ponk; the Ninky Nonk not quite so much but then flying is always more fun.

These charming set of eight books from The Book People features all the favourite In the Night Garden characters and has simple text that your child can follow along with and start to practise their own reading skills.

They can enjoy reading fun with Upsy Daisy, the Tombliboos (my favourites...yes, I got 'assimilated' in the end) and Iggle Piggle (is it just me, or is Iggle Piggle a bit of a wimp...?) and can keep all their ITNG books in the cute little bag they come with.

These have an rrp of £31.92 but are up for grabs from The Book People for £8.99 BUT if you use the following codes they'll be yours for just £8.09 and you can have them delivered for free too!

VTech Explore And Play Table £19.99 @ Asda Direct

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 15 February, 2010 at 11:00 am

VTech Explore And Play Table £19.99 @ Asda Direct"All aboard the Pinky Ponk!"

Activity tables are great things regardless of which TV show or character they 'belong' to.  Little kiddies of a certain age have the attention spans of gnats and playing with toys like this gives them the freedom to be able to jump around from one activity to another to their heart's cotent.

There's a lot for little ones to explore and do with this In the Night Garden Explore and Play Table; it features some of the main characters such as a spinning Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka (he's my favourite) Igglepiggle, Ninky Nonk sliding beads that run over the top across the width of the table and three Tombliboo balls which when put in the right places trigger phrases, music and sounds.

VTech Explore And Play Table £19.99 @ Asda DirectIt ticks all the boxes of the things small children love to do - pushing buttons, spining things, flipping pages (there's a little book that introduces the characters and objects on its pages) and it ticks an important box for parents too - easy storage, the legs of the table come off to make this a doddle.

Suitable from 9 months onwards this table is a a gift from Asda Direct at £19.99 (was £39.99) can be delivered or collected in-store and requires just 2AA batteries which ARE included.

In The Night Garden Upsy Daisy Bedside Table @ Toymaster £9.99

by Heidi Scrimgeour in Deals on 31 January, 2010 at 5:00 pm

Bargain is a word we bandy about all the time here at Play Pennies but this In The In The Night Garden Upsy Daisy Bedside Table @ Toymaster £9.99Night Garden Upsy Daisy bedside table really is an absolute bargain.

In fact it would probably rank as a bargain at its usual price of £34.99  but right now Toymaster are offering it with a rather lovely price-tag of just £9.99.

There are just three reviews on the Toymaster website but they're all glowing. The customers who bought it all agree that it's excellent quality and sturdy to boot, which impressed me because the 2 little drawers are described as 'fabric' and I've often found that fabric furniture and energetic toddlers do not mix all that well.  But this sounds like an exception to that rule so I don't suppose they'll stay in stock for long.In The Night Garden Upsy Daisy Bedside Table @ Toymaster £9.99

I've yet to meet a pre-schooler who doesn't love In The Night Garden and Upsy Daisy has to be one of cutest TV characters for quite some time. With that crazy hair and dress sense she appeals to most little girls and this  would make an ideal addition to a little lady's playroom or bedroom, perfect for storing books or toys in.

All together now; Upsy Daisy here I come, I'm the only Upsy one, I'm the only Daisy too, Ipsy Upsy Daisy Doo!
