Hello Kitty Backpack and Stationery Set £9.99 @ Argos

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 16 April, 2013 at 7:00 pm

Hello Kitty Backpack and Stationery Set £9.99 @ Argos

Argos have taken more than half off the Hello Kitty Backpack and Stationery Set, which normally sells at £24.99, although the small print says it was previously on sale for £13.32, and are now selling it for £9.99.

It's the perfect gift for heading into a new term with, and a great idea for one of those 'unwrap lots of different things to make up a present' kind of ideas.

The set includes a backpack, ring binder, notepad, felt tips and a pencil case filled with the essentials, all with Hello Kitty blasted onto the surfaces, so it's the perfect gift for any fan. The essentials look as though they are an eraser, ruler, pen, sharpener and pencil, so enough to get you started at least.

Hello Kitty Pop Up Room Tidy £4.17 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 13 April, 2013 at 9:00 am

Hello Kitty Pop Up Room Tidy £4.17 @ AmazonAmazon are selling this Hello Kitty pop-up room tidy for £4.17 - it's only a little bit less than its full £5.99 price, but will be worth its weight in gold to Hello Kitty fans.

I deliberately went looking for a Hello Kitty pop-up room tidy this morning - this was the cheapest one I tracked down - as it's a friend's birthday today and she's a bit Hello Kitty mad. You see, she can be a bit untidy, and it drives her husband round the bend, so a Hello Kitty pop-up room tidy will make for a rather amusing joke present today.

Of course, you don't have to give a Hello Kitty pop-up room tidy to an untidy adult (who should know better), they are really great for kids bedrooms - whether they take on the role of a laundry basket, toy storage, or anything else you need to stash away that doesn't have a home.

They are quick and easy to pop up and ideal for engaging in a bit of gentle 'parental persuasion', along the lines of: "Hello Kitty would want you to be tidy and put your toys away..." and, "What would Hello Kitty think about all your toys being left laying around if she popped in to visit?!"

You don't have to pay to have this particular Hello Kitty pop-up room tidy delivered to you, so £4.17 is all you need to part with.

Happy Hello Kitty tidying!

Hello Kitty Sculpted Book Light £2.93 @ Amazon

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 17 March, 2013 at 11:00 am

Hello Kitty Sculpted Book Light £2.93 @ AmazonAmazon has reduced this Hello Kitty Sculpted Book Light down from £6.99 to £2.93. That includes postage as the item is offered with free super saver delivery in the UK.

It is the price really that caught my eye with this one. Low enough to pop it away as a potential stocking filler for Christmas. Otherwise, if it didn't have the free delivery, I'd have given it a miss as from the reviews it doesn't sound too robust.

However, for just under three pounds, it might be worth it even if the light only lasted a few weeks. It looks very pretty, and would make any Hello Kitty fan very happy.

The Hello Kitty Booklight has a bright LED bulb perfect for helping you read in the dark or in low lighting. It has an adjustable neck so you are able to position the light as needed. Includes batteries.

Two issues reported by customers on the website are that it detaches from the base too easily, and that the light isn't bright enough. However, there are also a similar number of positive reviews like this one. "I got this for my 6 year old who is a Kittyholic, she loves the cuteness and practical uses such as illuminating
her bedtime reads or just a handy light to have near the bedside when a standard lamp is too bright. We've had it a month and it is used every night."

Hello Kitty Pop Up Play Tent £4.97 @ Tesco Direct

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 6 February, 2013 at 9:00 am

Hello Kitty Pop Up Play Tent £4.97 @ Tesco DirectIf you get yourself over to Tesco Direct you'll be able to pick up a Hello Kitty Pop-Up Play Tent for £4.97 - it's original full price has been £9.98.

Kids love playing 'camps' and hiding away inside things; they always have done and, I'm guessing, always will do and if you've got a young Hello Kitty fan in your family, then it may well be worth buying one of these Hello Kitty Pop-up tents and stashing it away until a present giving occasion arises.

It pops up in just a few seconds (I know, I know - the words 'pop-up' in the title gave the game away!)  and features Hello Kitty on the side panels, either side of the door, sitting down holding a pink apple.  printed with a Hello Kitty design and features a front door that folds down flat, rather than hinging open on the side.

According to the blurb there are two doors - now I can't see whether they mean there's an opening at each end of the tent, or whether they're saying that each half of the opening in the picture is a door...what do you think?

I'm not sure it really matters, your Hello Kitty fan isn't going to say, "OH, this only has ONE door!  Take it back, immediately, and don't return until you have a Hello Kitty tent which has two doors!"

You can arrange to collect your Hello Kitty Pop-up tent from your local Tesco store, or you can pay them £3 for the privilege of delivery it to your home instead.

Hello Kitty Cushion And Pyjama Case £7.99 @ Argos

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 2 January, 2013 at 7:00 pm

Hello Kitty Cushion And Pyjama Case £7.99 @ Argos

On sale at Argos is a Hello Kitty Cushion and Pyjama Case, reduced from £19.99 to £7.99, which is a pretty great £12 saving.

I laughed when I saw this offer. It reminded me of something very similar that I had as a child. It was a cow, standing on it's two back legs, with a pouch for pyjamas. If memory serves, it hung behind the door of my room, and that was where I kept my nighties. This is an even better idea, as it can stay on the bed and double as a cushion. And it's a great discount too.

It also strikes me as a great idea for travelling, as you'll know exactly where they are! It's also pretty light at 280 grams, and a little bigger than an A4 page.

These are available for home delivery or can be picked up in store.

Hello Kitty Dressing Table £15 @ Tesco Direct

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 9 October, 2012 at 7:00 pm

Hello Kitty Dressing Table £15 @ Tesco Direct

Tesco Direct have a half price offer on a Hello Kitty Dressing Table, which is selling for £15 instead of £30.

A little something for your princess, this cute dressing table  features a light-up mirror with Hello Kitty's face on the pink frame and a matching stool. Apparently it's quite flimsy and one of the HUKD members reckon it needs to be held together by Selotape, but we all know that that's hardly a deterrent to an excited little girl. At the supposed £30 RRP, that would be a problem, but it would seem that at £15, that's not too big a deal.

The Hello Kitty Dressing Table comes with lots of cool styling accessories including a battery operated hair dryer, play straighteners, a big hair clip, brush, comb and play lipstick.

The lights require 3x AA batteries.

Hello Kitty Wooden Doll's House £44.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 25 September, 2012 at 10:00 am

Hello Kitty Wooden Doll's House £44.99 @ ArgosArgos are selling this Hello Kitty wooden doll's house for £44.99 instead of its full retail price of £59.99.

I love wooden toys, they just have a touch more elegance and refinement about them than anything made from plastic.

You know, I'm still rather bemused as to why Hello Kitty is quite as successful as she is; she appeals right across the age ranges too so if you have a young Hello Kitty fan, you might as well resign yourself to the fact that you'll be buying Hello Kitty things for plenty of years to come - my teenage granddaughter asked if I could find her some Hello Kitty high-heeled shoes, I told her she ought to be ashamed of her 16-year-old self for even asking!

However, if your Hello Kitty fanatic is three years or older then, I think, we can safely predict they'd be over the moon if this Hello Kitty wooden doll's house was waiting for them under the Christmas tree this year.

It's a two-storey house, comes with a wooden Hello Kitty figure and 13 pieces of handmade furniture to furnish her house with; the roof is painted in 'Hello Kitty pink' and the walls are predominantly white with window and flower border patterns printed onto it in full colour.

You can arrange to have your Hello Kitty wooden doll's house delivered to your home, or you can collect it from your nearest Argos store that has stock.

Happy Hello Kitty house playing!

Ravensburger Hello Kitty Memory Game £4.66 @ Amazon

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 7 July, 2012 at 3:00 pm

Ravensburger Hello Kitty Memory Game £4.66 @ AmazonPlay games the old fashioned way! With physical objects instead of on the computer or TV screen. Amazon has cut the price of the Ravensburger Hello Kitty Memory Game by just over half. Down from £9.99 to £4.66. And the reviews on this game are really good. So if you've a Hello Kitty fan (or are one) it is worth having a look.

See Hello Kitty in lots of different scenes in this colourful memory game. Turn the 72 picture cards face down - can you remember where the matching pairs are? Suitable for 2 or more players, and for children aged from 4 upwards.

Delivery is free with Amazon Super Saver Delivery.

This is typical of the reviews for this game on the website. "The box contains 72 cards which are matching pairs. Each pair (36) has a beautiful picture of kitty in various different scenes, a wedding picture, a couple of charleston outfits, a doctor, a mermaid etc.

The cards are produced from thick, durable card - more like a jigsaw type thickness, that will hopefully stand the test of time.

My 5-year daughter loves Hello Kitty and adores playing this game - she normally beats me! An excellent game to train the memory and gain good concentration from youngsters!! Highly recommended."

My Melody Bag Bargains @ Home BargainsMy youngest niece has a real thing for bags; as long as that continues none of the family will ever be stuck for something to buy her!

If you have a little girl in your family who's barmy for bags the you might want to take a look at the My Melody bag bargains up for grabs at Home Bargains.

Click HERE to take a look at the My Melody bag bargains

I hadn't encountered 'My Melody' before today and couldn't help but draw comparisons between her and Hello Kitty.  A couple of minutes spent interrogating my good friend Google (what did we do before 'him'?!) quickly revealed that she's from the same home as Hello Kitty.

My Melody is a little bunny who wears a floppy hat over her bunny ears; her favourite hobby is baking cookies, her favourite food is almond pound cake (I wonder if she bakes that herself too) and her best friend is a mouse called Flat <---- so now we know!

There are three My Melody items up for grabs at Home Bargains for good prices at the moment:

  • A My Melody back pack for £2.99 instead of £14.99
  • A My Melody tote bag for £2.59 rather than its original £12.99 and
  • A My Melody shoulder bag for £2.99, its full price is £14.99

If you live near a Home Bargains you'll be able to collect your My Melody things in-store for free, otherwise you'll need to pay between 99 pence and £2.99 for home delivery.

Angel Cat Sugar Review

by Sarah Macdonald in Reviews on 14 March, 2012 at 1:00 pm

Angel Cat Sugar ReviewI'll be honest, I'm not a Hello Kitty fan and was a bit nonplussed when I saw my name scheduled for this Angel Cat Sugar review.

Angel Cat Sugar is a new cat phenomenon with an ever-increasing celebrity following - Fearne Cotton, Pixie Lott, Claudia Schiffer, Dannii Minogue, Tess Daly and Alexander Burke, to name a few (I kid you not!) - designed by the creator of the insanely popular Hello Kitty, Yuko Shimizu

I duly popped over to angelcatsugar.com to find out what all the fuss was about and fell in LOVE!  Not necessarily with all the products but with the story of how Angel Cat Sugar came into being and what she's 'about' - she's  a white cat who has angel wings and lives to spread love and happiness throughout the world.

The inspiration behind Angel Cat Sugar is explained by Yuko Shimizu, on the Angel Cat Sugar website, and it's a beautiful story...

Hello Kitty Stationary £2.99 @ Game

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 10 March, 2012 at 11:00 am

Hello Kitty Stationary £2.99 @ Game

Hello Kitty Stationary from Gacha is on offer at Game for £2.99. There’s no indication of what it was before it was £2.99, but I found it elsewhere for £6.95 plus almost £4 postage, while postage from Game to any UK address is free of charge, so it sounds like a great price to me.

I have yet to meet a girl who doesn’t like decorating her school books and being creative in her personalisation of her space – (admittedly I don’t know too many girls of school age these days, but I used to be one, so I ‘m going on that memory here!)

The Hello Kitty Stationary from Gacha features six products for organising, sorting and decorating your paper work. The set contains 6 different mini items, including six organiser clips, 40 stickers, 3 erasers or one of three decorative tapes with dispensers.

The only down side is that these are ‘blind packed’, which means the goodies are packed randomly in capsules, and you’ll get three capsules with one item inside each, but there’s no knowing what you’ll get in your capsules. Still it’s not a bad price and you could probably risk going for two or more if you were really hoping for the whole set.

Multiprint House of Hello Kitty Figurine Dolls 1p @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 13 February, 2012 at 7:00 pm

Multiprint House of Hello Kitty Figurine Dolls 1p @ Amazon

I’m not sure if this is a glitch in Amazon’s system or not, and I don’t suppose it’ll be round for very long, but for those of us that manage to grab it, this is a steal. Usually retailing at £19.99, there’s pretty much 100% off the Multiprint House of Hello Kitty Figurine Dolls, selling at 1p – but there’s £4.62 shipping to consider as it's a marketplace seller. Even so - £4.63 for what would have been £24.62 is not bad going, in my book.

You can also get it Amazon for £10.26, including delivery, which is still 49% off.

So, what is it? Well, it’s a stamping kit, with seven Hello Kitty designs, in a Hello Kitty ‘house’. There’s an ink pad built into the clip on lid, and the box is more than just packaging – you can actually use it for storage.

The grammar in the description is a bit off, it’s dispatched from an Amazon seller (which I’ve never had any problems with!) and there’s a hefty postage fee, but for a Hello Kitty fan, this could make a lovely gift. I know my two year old is loving using stamps at the moment,  and I think these would be a hit!

Hello Kitty Sweet Candy House Playset £23.90 @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 5 February, 2012 at 9:00 pm

Hello Kitty Sweet Candy House Playset £23.90 @ AmazonThis really sweet looking – no pun intended – Hello Kitty Sweet Candy House Playset is reduced from £39.99 to £23.90, a 40% saving.

Did you know that Hello Kitty had a twin sister? Her name is Mimmy, apparently and the sisters come together in this play set.  You can open the Sweet House, which divides into three sections and is made up of five rooms.

The large central room makes a great place for the cake shop, where you can load up the cart and take it out to sell all the pastries.

There are two rooms ideal for sleeping complete with beds and lamps.  There are stairs leading up to the balcony above the kitchen, surrounded by a railing made of plastic pretzels.

Each room is fully decorated with wall paper, and the house is apparently loaded with 35 bits of furniture and accessories.

Oh, and, as an added incentive, spend £10 or more on Toys, Games or Baby products sold by Amazon.co.uk and receive £2 MP3 credit to try out their MP3 Downloads Store.

Hello Kitty Ready Bed £20 @ Debenhams

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 16 December, 2011 at 9:00 am

Hello Kitty Ready Bed £20 @ DebenhamsDebenhams have reduced the price of this Hello Kitty ready bed by half, making it £20 instead of £40.

Ready beds are fabulous inventions, there when you need them and not when you don't - oh if only there were more things in life like ready beds *wink*

You don't need anything 'extra' if you have a Hello Kitty ready bed ready and waiting for your little Hello Kitty fan - no blanket, no pillow, no duvet as it's already included.

There's no need for extra pillows, there's no need for extra blankets, duvets or duvet covers because the bed already has them - it didn't take a genius then to come up with the catchy, and original, title of 'ready bed'!

If your young Hello Kitty fan is having a friend over to stay, you simply whip out your Hello Kitty ready bed and blow it up with the pump, that's included, and ta-daaaa,  one ready bed ready.

The Hello Kitty ready bed measures  170 x 67 x 20 cm, the cover is machine washable and there's a quick deflation valve too when you're ready to pack it all away again.

Delivery to your local Debenhams is free as is the standard four-working-day delivery to your home.

Hello Kitty My Favourite Things Pocket Library £2.49 @ Red House

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 7 November, 2011 at 11:00 am

Hello Kitty My Favourite Things Pocket Library £2.49 @ Red HouseAhhh this Hello Kitty 'My Favourite Things' Pocket Library collection looks cute; it would make a lovely little stocking filler for a young girly getting ready to get to grips with the magical world of books and reading.

I really like these pocket libraries - my youngest son still, at five-and-a-half like quickly flicking through his Bob the Builder Pocket Library books - they are perfect for titchy ones who are just beginning to get inquisitve about books and reading.

This  Hello Kitty 'My Favourite Things' Pocket Library collection contains five little board books, featuring the cute little kitten who only seems to increase in popularity, and will introduce your daughter/niece/granddaughter/great-granddaughter * (*delete as applicable!)  to some of Hello Kitty's favourite things, from exploring, dressing up and fun and games to her friends and - of course - the colour pink.

The books are easy to keep together in their own little slip case and I love how the spines create a little Hello Kitty picture when they're arranged in the correct order - great for the early development of pattern recognition and fine motor skills.

The recommended list price for this Hello Kitty 'My Favourite Things' Pocket Library collection is £4.99, Red House are selling it for £2.49 - Lynley posted a free Red House delivery code last month (FREE116), so use that too and bag yourself some little book bargains.

Happy pocket library reading!

My First Hello Kitty Kitchen £24.99 @ Toys R Us

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 10 September, 2011 at 11:00 am

My First Hello Kitty Kitchen £24.99 @ Toys R Us

My First Hello Kitty Kitchen is half  price at Toys R Us at the moment, selling for £24.99 instead of £49.99.

Despite the fact that so much pink in one spot makes my heart race a little faster – it seems having a little girl has done nothing for my apparent pink version of chromatophobia (the fear of colours) – this does look like a  pretty good deal. I’m always stunned at the price of play kitchens, so one for under £30 with delivery included doesn’t seem too bad.

Crititcisms of this set from purchasers include that it is a bit flimsy and not really suitable from the advertised 18 months old, although not everyone agrees with that.

The Hello Kitty First Kitchen features a cooker, sink, hob, plenty of storage, an over door which opens and closes and 15 play accessories, such as a pot and pan, cups for making tea, crockery and cutlery for three.  It also comes with a collection of stickers for decorating the play set.

Hello Kitty Box Set £7.33 @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 19 August, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Hello Kitty Box Set £7.33 @ Amazon

If you have a Hello Kitty lover in your clan, this box set of Hello Kitty goodies could make a nice little gift – (or if you’re having a Hello Kitty themed party, splitting the  contents could make good goody bad fillers too!). They’re £7.33 each, which is a 27% saving.

I first came across Hello Kitty in Thailand, of all places, about 10 years ago, so whenever I see anything Hello Kitty I have a flashback to beautiful beaches and crazy busy market places… but I guess that’s just me, so aaaaanyway…

The Hello Kitty boxed set comes with an assortment of themed goodies: it contains two bouncy balls, a skipping rope, and a light-up Yo Yo. Annoyingly, they say contents may vary, but they don’t tell you how.

The reviews are quite mixed, with one saying that the skipping rope didn’t last more than two days, but others absolutely loving it and even wanting to get a set for themselves.

I think, if you have a small party or a big budget, they’d make fab goody bags!
