50% Off Fireworks @ Argos

50% Off Fireworks @ Argos

Bonfire night might have come and gone, but Argos still have a 50% off fireworks till the 10th of November – perfect for stocking up for New Year's celebrations.

Like everyone else, Argos have quite a few restrictions on cost and quantity of fireworks that you can buy in a single transaction, but at these prices £1000 (the limit) will go a very long way. Just to name a few:

The Dark Storm Selection Box costing £4.99 instead of £9.99, contains 15 fireworks consisting of 10 Fountains, 4 Roman Candles and 1 Wheel. It's a great value selection of mixed effect fireworks ideal for younger families.

The Brute Force, now £24.99, is a fantastic 42 shot Single Ignition with a rapid sequence of aerial blasts creating a multi-effect display that fills the sky. Including red comets, crackle mines, whistling tails, massive palm bursts with a finale of fizzing crackle bursts. Light this once and enjoy your own choreographed display for roughly 54 seconds.

The 10 multi-effect Fire Racer Rockets, now £9.99, includes green and red stars, silver fish effects and crackle, lasting about 10 seconds.

And at .74p for a 5-pack of giant sparklers, producing a golden coloured sparkle, you could supply a stadium-worth of ambient festive lighting.

Remember to check if your local Argos is participating, reserve online, and if you look under 21 you'll be asked for ID.

50% Half Term Half Price @ Early Learning Centre (ELC)

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 29 October, 2010 at 10:00 am

50% Half Term Half Price @ Early Learning Centre (ELC)

If you need something to keep the little ones busy this half term, the Half Term Half Price sale at Early Learning Centre is worth a look.

Of course, it's doubtful whether any of us really need any more toys in our house, but sometimes having something new to keep the little ones busy for a while can be a life saver.

And with 50% off, toys such as Spiral Art (down to £5.00) should be just the thing to get the creative juices flowing, while the Leapfrog Zippity Active Learning System (now £35.00) or the Lift and Look Number Puzzle (only £3.50) incorporate learning and play.

The toys on offer include a wide variety of dolls, bears, puzzles, cars, games and much more.

A favourite feature for me on the ELC website is that you can choose toys by learning skill, such as fine motor skills, problem solving or social skills, allowing you to choose products that will help your child develop specific skills in a fun environment.

UK Standard delivery takes four working days and is free on orders over £100.00 or £4.95 under.

Half Price Toys @ Tesco

Half Price Toys @ Tesco

There's not a huge amount to say about a half price toy sale, really. It's a toy sale and everything is half price at Tesco!

I keep trying to avoid the topic of Christmas, of stocking up and stocking fillers, but it seems everywhere I turn I come face to face with commercial cheer and the season of buying. And even if you don't celebrate Christmas, but do celebrate birthdays, I guess every home should have a gift cupboard like the one my mum used to have – filled to the brim with bargains that we could reach in to find the 'perfect' gift for every occasion.

Supermarkets like Tesco are certainly making stocking up easier, and in this case, the whole early bird gets the worm thing is true.

With half price on toys such as Biggest Littlest Petshop, Scooby Doo Pirate Fort playset, Battlestrikers starter set and Postman Pat vehicles and dolls, (all down to £20 from £40) and eight pages of options online, there's no need to run in to town before the next birthday or Christmas party.

Tesco also offer next day delivery, and two club card points for every £1 spent.

Baby Toiletries Half Price @ Sainsbury's

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 28 July, 2010 at 10:00 am

Baby Toiletries Half Price @ Sainsbury's I love, love, LOVE it when Sainsbury's make all their  baby toiletries half price!

I'm not sure whether this applies to all Sainsbury's stores 'in the real' but in virtual internet land it's half price deals a-go-go!  And although this offer runs until Tuesday 3 August, I wouldn't hang around as the terms also state that the offer is subject to stock availablility too.

When The Teenagers were small I used to keep a very beady eye open for deals like this - with two small children just a year apart in age, I used to get through an obscene amount of baby wipes.

I still keep half an eye open for half price baby toiletries offers because, quite frankly, baby wipes have to be one of the most useful inventions known to man and it just makes economic sense to stock up when you can!

My favourite? Johnson's Baby Skincare Wipes and a pack of four will only cost you £2.44 instead of £4.88.

Baby Toiletries Half Price @ Sainsbury's There are lots of other Johnson's toiletry products on offer - baby lotion (another permanent feature in my house), bedtime bath and grab a few of these if you can - Johnson's Soothing Naturals lotion - because it's LOVE-R-LY and has been reduced from £1.94 down to 97p!!

And just quickly - the parents' favourite, Sudocreme, is also on offer - £1.78 for the big 250g pot.

If this offer isn't running in your local Sainsbury's then standard delivery is just £3.95.

Half-Price Paint Deals @ B&Q!

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 14 February, 2010 at 1:00 pm

Half-Price Paint Deals @ B&Q!It's half-term - the mornings are getting lighter earlier, the evenings are getting darker later....it must be time to get the paint brushes out and give the walls of your home an new lease of life!

Paint is expensive!  Well I think it is but maybe that's because I get through gallons of the stuff - with three kids and two dogs in the house my walls take a fair bit of abuse, and even with washable paint a new coat on the walls at least once a year is the only way to really keep things looking fresh and nice.

Hurrah then for B&Q who currently have some fabulous paint bargains that I'm definitely going to be taking advantage of.

Half-Price Paint Deals @ B&Q!All 5 litre tins of Crown standard colour emulsion are half price at £13.98; you can pick up 10 litres of Crown white matt emulsion for £10 - that's £1 a litre and an absolute gift if you like white walls like I do (yes, I know...kids, dogs, white walls = bad idea).

You can check stock levels and reserve for in-store collection which is great and could save you a wasted journey - nothing worse than preparing to do battle with the DIY shops only to discover they haven't got what you want.

The only thing I can't help you with is how to convince your little ones that letting them lose with a tin of emulsion and a paint brush, or roller, ISN'T the best idea - unless you are one of those fearless DIY parents...which I'm not!
