Incy Wincy Spider Book And Toy Set £4.49 @ Play

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 6 December, 2011 at 9:00 am

Incy Wincy Spider Book And Toy Set £4.49 @ PlayPlay are selling this rather fabulous Incy Wincy Spider book and toy set for £4.49, instead of £10.99; awesome.

"Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the water spout, down came the rain and washed the spider out, out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain aannnnd Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the spout again!"

THAT is going to be going round and round in my head all day now and I've still never quite got to grips with drainpipes being called water spouts, what is that all about?

However, this Incy Wincy Spider book and toy set tells the story of Incy Wincy Spider being blown from animal to animal in an hilarious, apparently, rhyming story.

I have no idea whether or not the nursery rhyme features anywhere in the book and even if it doesn't, you can always sing it yourself - it's going round in YOUR head now too, I know it is - and use the Incy Wincy Spider toy as a prop to make your little ones properly laugh out loud; you could even go the whole hog and get a bit of off-cut drainpipe from somewhere.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Gift Set £5.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 28 November, 2011 at 12:00 pm

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Gift Set £5.99 @ AmazonStumble across a Very Hungry Caterpillar deal and I have a very hard time not telling you about it - this Very Hungry Caterpillar gift set would make a lovely little stocking filler pressie for someone who's not yet been introduced to one of the best childrens' stories of all time.

I can promise you faithfully that this Very Hungry Caterpillar gift set is just lovely as I bought it for Tamsin's daughter for her fourth birthday and she loved (loves) him.

The book is a little hardback version of the original Very Hungry Caterpillar book, but all the holes are still in the right places, he still eats watermelon and still munches on salami.

The normal retail price for a Very Hungry Caterpillar gift set is £10.99 but Amazon will let you have him for just £5.99 - don't muse for too long over whether to buy this though, Amazon have a habit of putting their prices up whenever I write about something totally awesome!

Minene Pyjamas Review

by Luschka van Onselen in Reviews on 10 November, 2011 at 5:00 pm

Minene Pyjamas ReviewWe received an absolutely gorgeous pyjama gift set from Minene recently. Whereas normally pyjamas themselves wouldn’t really be what I consider a gift, I must admit that the presentation of the set, along with the actual outfit itself feels like a luxurious present.

Minene focus on fantastic quality items for babies, children and mums and I think the word quality is pretty much spot on.

Unwrapping the gift, the pajamas were in a square, stripy red and white box with a window – a lovely presentation that is perfectly suitable just on it’s own. Opening the box revealed two rolled up bits of material : a red and white striped pair of pajama bottoms and a white long sleeved pajama top with a red heart in the front centre.

The most memorable thing about these pajamas is how soft they are. I don’t know how they get it that way, but wow. Soft, soft, soft. I wished I could wear it. Apparently it’s made from 100% soft cotton, and while I don’t know what the difference is between that and normal cotton, it is… you guessed it… soft.

I wasn’t too excited though, as often a wash will remove any trace of the former softness. Another experience I’ve had with pajamas is that they stretch out of all proportions after  a wash – these don’t do that. I could probably put them in the box and re-gift them after the wash, and no one would be any the wiser. But I’m not going to, because cuddling my little girl with that softness against both our skin is an added bonus.

At £16 (at Amazon – these are no longer on the Minene website) it’s not budget clothing, but it definitely makes a fantastic baby shower, new baby, first Christmas or similar gift.

Calvin Klein Baby Giftsets £7.50 @ House of Frasier

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 27 July, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Calvin Klein Baby Giftsets £7.50 @ House of Frasier

While neither House of Frasier or Calvin Klein are particularly synonymous with shopping on a budget, I think these baby gift sets for £7.50 instead of £25.

I saw on telly the other day that we’re in the middle of a baby boom, and considering how many new babies or almost due mamas I know, I’m not surprised.

The Calvin Klein sets consist of a body suit, a hat and a pair of booties.

The logo printed set in blue is available in size 0-3, 3-6 and 6-9 months and the same, but in lilac is available on size 3-6 and 6-9 months.

The striped bodysuit is only available in 3-6 and 6-9 months and the pink polka dot set too.

The baby sets are 100% cotton and machine washable at 30C.

You can collect these in store, or standard delivery is £3, or free on orders of £50 or more.

I think these will make lovely new baby gifts and are excellent value for money!

Scottish Fine Soaps Gift Set £7.49 @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 9 July, 2011 at 11:00 am

Scottish Fine Soaps Gift Set £7.49 @ AmazonThere’s 50% off this lovely looking gift set from Amazon, reducing a £14.99 gift to a mere £7.49 – not bad for a quality set, I think.

Scottish Fine Soaps have this Highland Aromatics Woolly Bathers bag gift set, which includes 100ml Dewy Body Wash, 100ml Silky Body Lotion, 80g Soothing Soap Bar, Heather Travel Candle, and two Lavish Bath Melts in a knitted drawstring bag.

Scottish Fine Soaps have been formulating, designing and manufacturing products in Stirlingshire Scotland for over 35 years. “We take our inspiration from the breath taking natural world on our doorstep and pride ourselves in creating stylish, aromatic products that provide real benefits for the skin and promote well-being for the mind and body,” says Scottish Fine Soaps.

Reviewers liked the fact that it came in a bag that could be used as a toiletry bag, and that it was very well presented, but others had problems – understandably – with the fact that some items were swapped out without notice.

Overall there were good ratings for it and it’s a good price for a nice gift set.
