I tested it out on a pair of men's Gola Guile trainers in the sale. These were marked down from £20 to £14. The code took another £2.80 off that. As I was having them home delivered, instead of collecting from a store, there was a £2.95 delivery charge. So in total, the shoes cost £14.15.

Crocs seem to divide opinion even more than politics does. Love em or loathe them, they're absolutely perfect for children in the summer. I love that my lads can get them on and off without my help and they're brilliant for wearing on the beach or for playing in the garden when the paddling pool is out because it doesn't matter if they get soaked. But they offer a bit more protection to little toes than plain old flipflops or sandals and a pair of cosy socks transforms them easily when the evening draws in.

All I can tell you about Ben 10 is that he's a goodie who can turn himself into an alien and that he fights baddie aliens. What can I say. Little boys love this stuff. Demand for Ben-themed merchandise seems really high - I nabbed some Ben 10 PJ's and dressing gowns as Christmas pressies for some little relatives back in November because in my experience this stuff sells out fast. One week you spot it in the supermarket, the next it's gone. In fact I'm grabbing the next size up of slippers now, before I blink and miss them. Let's just hope Ben 10 is still the hero of the day by the time they're ready for a new pair of slippers.
