Scooby Doo Boo Fleece Blanket £3.99 @ Play.com

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 29 March, 2012 at 6:00 pm

Scooby Doo Boo Fleece Blanket £3.99 @ Play.comScooby Dooby Doo, where are you? On the bed! The most recently made Scooby cartoons are shown on the CBBC channel and during kids programming on BBC2, plus there's the endless re-runs on Boomerang, if you have cable or satellite. So there's a whole new generation, like my son who is six, who absolutely love this mutt. This fleece blanket could make an ideal cover, and for just TODAY ONLY it has been reduced to £3.99 from £9.99 at Play.com. This included delivery.

We've got a few of these fleece blankets at home. They're a lot warmer than you think, and during the summer time are often all the covering you need. They're soft enough to be really comfortable without a sheet too, so we tend to use them like duvets. They make a great cover for them when snuggling up on the sofa late evenings or early in the morning. Plus they work well as picnic blankets too.

The fleece blanket measures approximately 120 x 150cm. It is made out of 100% polyester. Don't forget, if you want this blanket, according to the original poster at HUKD it is only valid for today.

Snug Fleeces £3.99 @ Argos

Snug Fleeces £3.99 @ Argos

Argos has some his (junior) and her ( also junior) snug fleeces with popular Disney branding on offer for a very reasonable £3.99, reduced from £9.99.

I don’t know about you, but I just don’t seem to be able to warm up at the moment. A hot bath works for a while but by the time I’m settled in for the evening, my very bones are cold again.

As these fleeces are for children, they’re not going to help me, but if your little one has the same problem – or constantly kicks off their blankets – these wearable fleeces might be a good solution to your problem.

Apart from the fact that they are 100% polyester, there’s not much information about them, unfortunately, but  there’s one review on each, and they’re both very positive. Apparently the kids love them, so that’s not bad – and at this price they’re fantastic value too.

Argos’ delivery is really expensive for small items at £5.95, so you’d do better to check your local store for stock, and reserve it for collection.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Fleece Blanket £3.99 @ Play

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 14 November, 2011 at 11:00 am

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Fleece Blanket £3.99 @ PlayOhhh I wish I had a child young enough to appreciate this Very Hungry Caterpillar fleece blanket! It's the Teenagers' birthdays on Thursday and, somehow, I don't think they'd be jumping for joy if I gave them a Very Hungry Caterpillar fleece to commemorate their late teen milestones.

The usual retail price for this Very Hungry Caterpillar fleece blanket is £9.99; if you pop over to Play now, you'll be able to pick one up for £3.99 which I think is a real bargain for ANY fleece blanket, let alone a Very Hungry Caterpillar one.

You really can't beat fleece blankets, they're a far cry from the heavy, musty-smelling, ribbon-edged blanket my nan used to have to keep us warm at her house when we were little. I wouldn't be without them and used to keep a couple in the car when the Teenagers were small to keep them warm in the car on chilly mornings.

This Very Hungry Caterpillar fleece blanket measures 150cm x 120cm, can be washed at 40C and then tumble dried; if you've got radiators in your house though (and I'm assuming you've switched the heating back on now) then I find throwing fleece blankets over them sees them dry in less than 20 minutes.

As always, there aren't any charges for UK mainland delivery so £3.99 is the total price for this Very Hungry Caterpillar fleece blanket.

White Baby Fleece Blanket £1.50 @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 24 September, 2011 at 8:00 am

White Baby Fleece Blanket £1.50 @ TescoIf you're looking for baby fleece blankets, get yourself over to Tesco now and grab a couple; Tesco are selling them for £1.50 instead of £3.00.

I put the heating on early this morning; I've been resisting up until now, but it was decidedly chilly first thing.

If you're expecting a winter baby then you're going to need a fair few blankets; I know this from experience as the Teenagers were both born in November.

These white fleece baby blankets from Tesco measure 90cm x 70cm - big enough for moses baskets, cribs, car seats or just wrapping baby up when they're in your arms.

You might think that white isn't a very practical colour but newborns aren't in the habit of rolling around in the mud, and as the blankets are easy, and quick, to wash and dry - whether it's in the tumble dryer or over a radiator - white isn't a problem.

Home delivery by Tesco costs £5, so don't bother with that (unless you're buying lots of other things too, to make it worthwhile) collect them in-store for free instead.

Disney Cars Sleeved Fleece Blanket £5 @ Play

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 19 September, 2011 at 10:00 am

Disney Cars Sleeved Fleece Blanket £5 @ PlayMy previous friendship bracelet post was definitely more for the girls; to even things up a bit here's something for the boys.

Play are selling this Disney Cars sleeved fleece blanket for £5, rather than £12.99.

The evenings and nights are definitely getting chilly - it was 8C in my little part of the country last night - and darker earlier.

I'm resisting putting the heating on, in fact I REFUSE to put the heating on just yet and am wrapping myself up in my husband's warm, and cosy, jumpers instead.

This is all well and good for me, but my youngest son has a bit of an aversion to wearing jumpers or dressing gowns to keep warm in the evenings!

I have NO idea why and, both, me and his father have despaired on occasions; this Disney Cars sleeved fleece blanket may just be the way forward.

Basically, it's a blanket with arms which, I think, is a cracking idea.  There are few things worse than having got warm due to being tucked up under a blanket, then needing to take your arms out because you need to hold something.  OR not being able to tuck your arms in, so anything under armpit height is warm and anything over stays chilly.

The Disney Cars sleeved fleece blanket is machine washable up to 40C, can be tumble died, is made from 100% polyester and measures 120cm x 150cm.

The current dispatch time from Play is between one and two weeks.

Toy Story Children’s Snuggle Blanket £7.99 @ Argos

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 5 October, 2010 at 7:00 pm

Toy Story Children’s Snuggle Blanket £7.99 @ Argos

As the evenings grow darker and the beautiful shades of autumn fade in to the dark cold of winter, the thought of snuggling up close in front of a log fire – okay, the television – becomes more and more appealing.  A snuggle blanket per child from Argos at only £7.99 should go a long way to reducing your heating bills this winter.

My little girl has always been a very active sleeper, kicking and tossing all night long. As a result I was always worried that she would be cold until I invested in a baby sleeping bag. Not only has it become a part of our sleep routine, signaling bed time, but she also never wakes from the cold anymore.

Aimed at older children, this fleece snuggle blanket has sleeves to keep the arms warm and is long enough to keep those toes covered too. It is made of 100% polyester and is machine washable at 40C and can be tumble dried – hmmm… I love putting on warm clothes after a bath.

I also really like the idea that a child can be transferred from the lounge or the car to bed wearing this blanket and never being exposed to the elements.

Although these are currently out of stock online, you can check your local Argos to see stock and availability and reserve for local pickup.

In the Night Garden Fleece £3.50 @ Tesco Direct

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 2 July, 2010 at 8:00 am

In the Night Garden Fleece £3.50 @ Tesco DirectIt's cloudy and chilly in my little part of the world this morning, so kicking off this PlayPennies Friday with an In the Night Garden fleece blanket seems more than appropriate.

What did we do in a world before fleece?! When I was a kid there was no such thing as pulling on a fleece jumper on a cool summer evening, there was no such thing as curling up under a fleece blanket on the sofa and feeling instantly warm!

It was heavy blankets and thick woollen jumpers all the way; not such a big deal when you're not the one who has to wash and dry them, they took up a lot of space in the washing machine and an inordinate amount of time to dry.

It's no wonder we all took anything made of fleece to our hearts - it's light, doesn't take up a lot of room, it's warm and cosy, easy to wash and comes out of the washing machine almost as dry as it was when it went in.

In the Night Garden Fleece £3.50 @ Tesco DirectThis In the Night Garden fleece is brightly coloured, features Iggle Piggle, is washable up to 40 degrees and Tesco have reduced it down from £7 to £3.50 - collect it for free from your local store and save  yourself the enormous £5 delivery charge.
