10 Kids Books for £10 @ The Works

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 16 May, 2013 at 4:00 pm

10 Kids Books for £10 @ The Works

The Works is offering a ’10 books for £10’ on selected kids books. And considering that each book retails for between £4.99 and £9.99 EACH, that’s a saving of up to 85%

The Works has a HUGE range of kids books, audio books, art materials, jigsaws, CDs, DVDs and adult fiction and non-fiction books. Their current ’10 kids books for £10’ offer applies to a selected range of books from ‘The Worst Princess’ and ‘My Giant Fairytale Sticker Book’ to the Octonauts series.

The favourite part of my day is lying next to my daughter reading her a bedtime story. Unfortunately her bookshelf is a little limited and she keeps choosing the same books over and over again so I try to make it interesting for myself by embellishing the story slightly. Previously she used to find this hilarious but not that she can read I’m pretty much snookered.. With this fabulous deal from The Works my little princess can now be entertained by a whole range of new kids books which she can actually read to me for a change! And with free delivery for orders over £25 there are a couple of things on the website that I’ll be adding to her order for me!

HappyLand Zoo £30 @ Mothercare

HappyLand Zoo £30 @ Mothercare

Mothercare has reduced the price on the HappyLand Zoo by half. It was on sale for £60 but now it is a mere £30 which is a lovely saving on a really cool toy. I wish I had a little one to go with it!

The HappyLand Zoo kit is great for teaching kids about animals and learning new words. Toys like these also inspire imaginative and creative play which is brilliant for developing minds and encouraging independence and problem solving.

The zoo also helps to develop hand-to-eye co-ordination skills, motor skills and lots of fun skills. The set needs a pack of four AA batteries, which are initially included. This set is suitable for kids from 18 months old and it comes with eight animals, three HappyLand people, one gift shop, one zoo entrance/animal enclosure, one monkey tree swing, one penguin slide and pool, and one train.

It is so sweet and you can add onto it with other items from the HappyLand range.

Save 25% on Lego Star Wars Ewok Attack

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 13 May, 2013 at 4:00 pm

Save 25% on Lego Star Wars Ewok Attack

Sainsburys is has slashed the price of Star Wars Ewok Attack from £25.99 to just £19.49. That’s an incredible saving of £6.50. This offer is valid until 28 May so either click and collect from Sainsburys for free or pay £3.95 for standard delivery within 3 days

My favourite Star Wars ‘episode’ was the one with the Ewoks. They were sooo cute and spoke in those squeaky voices. Also they had spirit. Which other tribe would launch an attack on the Imperial scout troopers with just stones and logs.. and ultimately win (with a little help from their friends)! I don’t see the Leah hairdo ever coming back but the Ewoks in their treetop hideouts on the forest moon of Endor will never go out of fashion.

The set includes a scout trooper, Logray and Ewok warrior mini-figurines with various weapons and 166 bricks. Its not suitable for children under 3 years but 7 year olds and older will LOVE it.

Monopoly CityVille Only £7.61 @ Amazon

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 13 May, 2013 at 3:00 pm

Monopoly CityVille Only £7.61 @ Amazon

Amazon have slashed 65% off the re-imagined classic so you pay just £7.61 for Monopoly CityVille instead of £14.38! And if you order today your Monopoly CityVille will be delivered free to your door tomorrow!

The classic fast-dealing property trading Monopoly game has been re-imagined like the addictive online CityVille game resulting in Monopoly Cityville. Buy properties, build houses, community spaces and businesses on them and raise cash when it's your turn. You'll pay when you land on zoning permit spaces and get paid when you pass Go. The first player to build 4 skyscrapers wins. Become a tycoon while you build your dream city with the CityVille Monopoly game.

My best childhood memories were sitting around the Monopoly board on a lazy Sunday afternoon as a family while I attempted to take over the world! Unfortunately that didn’t materialise (mainly because my brother tended to throw the board up in frustration) but I can’t wait to introduce my daughter to the new improved (and less playing time) Monopoly CityVille game. Now I can foster the capitalist in her while she buys the properties she loves from the online game and builds on them as she likes. She can construct any combination of buildings, mix and match houses, businesses and community buildings, then decorate her properties with a selection of Mystery Gifts that increase their value. I can also become a successful mayor (always wanted to wear that necklace thingey!), just by building my city and keeping my citizens happy by building houses, setting up businesses and providing community spaces. Whoever grows their neighbourhood and build four skyscrapers will win.

Monopoly CityVille includes a game board, four movers, 66 buildings, 16 skyscraper tops, city money, zoning permit cards, mystery gift cards, visitor centre cards, two dice, game guide and a digital value card. Now we just need to settle the argument of who gets to be the racing car…

Kids Freebie: Free Crab Stickers @ PETA Kids

by Tamsin Oxford in Freebies on 12 May, 2013 at 3:00 pm

Kids Freebie: Free Crab Stickers @ PETA Kids

This is such a cute freebie, and so utterly random too. Here you get free hermit crab stickers from PETA Kids, which are adorable, and have a rather stern message printed on them. If your kids fancy making a difference and love stickers, then this is the freebie for you.

Have you ever seen shops selling hermit crabs? According to PETA Kids you probably have and that in the wild, hermit crabs can live to be 30 years old. That’s an impressive age for a crustacean I believe. These chaps live on Southern beaches in big groups with up to 100 other hermit crabs.

These chaps are not meant to be alone in a tiny tank. It’s horrible for them, they want to be with their families out in the wild. With these stickers your kids can stand up for what’s right and let everyone know that animals are not souveniers.

Kurio 7 Inch Tablet £99 @ John Lewis

John Lewis is selling the 7 inch Kurio tablet for under £100 which is, I think, rather brilliant. This tablet has been designed specifically for kids and boasts a wide range of apps and features to boost their education and plenty more. For a bigger screen you’ll pay £150, so for the sake of three inches, this is a brilliant saving.

The Kurio on sale at John Lewis will get delivered for free and is loved by kids and trusted by parents. This is the ultimate Android tablet for families. Well, that’s what it says on the packaging anyway. The tablet is pre-loaded with games, videos, educational content, ebooks, and cool things for everyone to enjoy.

You will get Angry Birds, World of Goo, Doodle Jump, Where’s My Water, Cut the Rope, and Fruit Ninja included. There is Wi-Fi, support for Flash, front and rear cameras make it easy to snap shots, you can even shoot videos and watch them. Nice.

Angry Birds Air Swimmer £19.99 @ IWOOT

The Air Swimmers remote controlled angry red bird from the hit game, Angry Birds, is waterproof and, apparently a water going menace. It’s also rather perfect for the summer season having been marked down by £30 off the original price.

The Air Swimmers have joined forces with the mighty Angry Birds to bring you a lifesize remote control that toy that blows all others out of the water. Fans of the popular and addictive game can recreate playing the game which involves launching birds at various pigs in various structures.

This bird is three and a half feet in size and flies at a height of about 5 feet. It is easy to manoeuvre using an infrared controlled handset. It glides through the air and even moves from side to side while flying. The thing does not include helium, you’ll need to get that yourself, and it is for indoor use only. Have fun!

Little Tikes Patrol Police Car £30.38 @ John Lewis

John Lewis has marked down the Little Tikes Patrol Police car to £30.38, that’s 10% off the original price and a really nice saving on a very cute car. This is brilliant for little tots that are just starting out in the exciting worlds of walking, running and scooting.

The Little Tikes patrol police car also comes with built-in storage in the rear, an ignition switch (which doesn’t really work) and an open-close petrol cap. It is too cute for words! The car is suitable for kids aged one to two years and comes with an exciting warning: do not use in traffic. Hahaha.

Nintendo Wii U 8GB Console £149 @ ASDA

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 2 May, 2013 at 4:00 pm

Nintendo Wii U 8GB Console £149 @ ASDA

The Nintendo Wii U consoles have been, in my humble opinion, way overpriced for way too long. I am delighted to see that finally the consoles are coming down to a decent price point and ASDA is leading the charge. You can now get the Wii U 8GB white console at £149. Nice.

The Nintendo Wii U console basic pack used to cost around £200, now you are saving a tidy £50 for the console itself. You get £.149 cashback if you buy it with your ASDA Money Credit Card too. Bit of a rubbish cashback, but hey.

The cost of delivery is free if you go with their standard 3-5 days, and you can take advantage of all the new Wii U games that are coming out at the moment. This is a superb deal and I’m definitely going to be taking advantage of it. I mean, I have wanted to play ZombieU since I heard about it! Although that’s not for the kids…

JD Bug Classic 1 Scooter £20.99 @ Evans Cycles

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 1 May, 2013 at 6:00 pm

JD Bug Classic 1 Scooter £20.99 @ Evans Cycles

It looks a bit like everyone is putting up the JD Bug scooter range for sale. I recently did a post where Halfords popped this on special. Well, if that’s not running anymore and you fancy some scooter fun, then this particular deal should be perfect.

The price of the scooter on the website is £21.66 which has already been reduced from £37.49. However, if you fancy taking even more moollah off that price and getting delivery for the total price of £20.99, then you need to use the code KBSPRING. This will take the money off at the checkout.

You can also get £5 off if that codes stops working by signing up for their newsletter. The scooter itself is made from aluminium main parts and a steel fork & folding mechanism for easy transportation. They have good reputation and I’ve seen good reviews of these all over.

Postman Pat Friction Van £5.99 @ Home Bargains

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 1 May, 2013 at 4:00 pm

Postman Pat Friction Van £5.99 @ Home Bargains

This is a pretty nifty gifty for a little someone, especially with Home Bargains shaving £9 off the original price of £14.99. You can nab your very own Postman Pat Friction Van for £5.99. Lovely.

The Postman Pat van comes with the vinyl figures of Postman Pat and his black and white cat and is suitable for children over three years old. It’s a winner for fans of the show! Postman Pat and his black and white cat are ready to go off on adventures with your little one.

The van is bright red, looks dead cute, and has working doors at the front by the looks of the picture. There isn’t a lot of information about the van itself or what features it has, but it looks like it’s made out of plastic. There is also no mention of size. They always look big on the site but end up being average. Not a bad price though!

What they do is fill the special Aqua Draw pen with water and use it to draw pictures on the magic Aqua Draw mat. They can also make larger paint brush effects with the special paintbrush pen, or add extra patterns with the three stampers, so cool.

When the water dries out, the pictures disappear, leaving the mat clear to start all over again and even better, there’s no mess to clean up.
