The Book People Discounted Books: Free Delivery

The Book People Discounted Books: Free Delivery

With The Book People discounted books can be as much as 75% off the recommended retail price. Which can lead to one problem – there’s no point in buying just one book as often the postage costs more than the novel! This voucher code solves that dilemma – it gives you free delivery.

Click here for free delivery for The Book People Discounted Books

  • Discount: Free Delivery
  • Minimum Spend: £0.00
  • Voucher Code: W3LS3P
  • Expiry: 30th September 2010

Go to your Basket and enter the promotional code there. A dialog box will pop up to tell you if it has been accepted or not. However, you won’t see this for sure until you get to the Order Summary, on the page where you enter your payment details. It should say, as mine did, that the delivery charge is £0.00. Which felt a bit nuts actually when I was buying a single book that cost just £2!

Normally standard delivery costs £3.95. If you spend more than £25 then delivery is free anyway. Although I have to say that would be an awful lot of books!

The site has a huge range of children’s books for babies and toddlers right up to teens. There’s also books for you on there too!

Toys Of Essence Wooden Educational Toys: 10% Discount

Toys Of Essence Wooden Educational Toys: 10% Discount

This voucher code will give you 10% off Toys Of Essence wooden educational toys. This is essentially giving you free delivery. Standard UK delivery charges on the site start at £2.99, then go up to  £4.99 when you spend between £21 and £41, and £5.99 when you spend more.

Enter the discount code on the checkout page. It will be immediately applied to your total. I always prefer this, as it is so much less hassle to find out whether a code works there and then, than go through the entire payment process only to find it doesn’t work!

I love the wooden toys on this site. They’re simply beautiful. Although they’re all educational, it doesn’t mean they’re not also fun. They aren’t the cheapest toys you’ll find. But there are times when really, I just get totally sick of the plasticky brightly coloured sorts of children’s toys, and the Ben 10/Peppa Pig/My Little Pony and other branded toys.

Toys Of Essence Wooden Educational Toys: 10% DiscountI also really like the way the site is laid out. With toys divided into categories, and also into age groups.

It isn’t all wooden toys either. I particularly liked the look of the number bean bags. And the Jewellery box sticky mosaics would make a wonderful present for a young girl.

Parents Freebie: Free Online Photograph Course

By Tamsin Oxford in Freebies on 5 September, 2010 at 6:00 pm

Parents Freebie: Free Online Photograph CourseI couldn’t be more excited about a freebie! I am desperate to learn more about photography as I’ve not had time to go to lessons or put what I’ve learned so far into practise, so an online course that can be done in my own time is rather perfect. Here, at PhotographyCourse.net you can learn all the secrets of digital photography for no cost at all.

The site is really easy to navigate and you can start your lessons from wherever your skill levels are today. You can learn how to work with the light you are given, how to get people to post for you, focal length and so much more.

Each course comes with images and clear instructions to help you learn about each element of digital photography so you can quietly figure stuff out at your own pace. I really think that this is quite brilliant as courses are very Parents Freebie: Free Online Photograph Courseexpensive in the UK.

If you get stuck, you can always ask a friend or do a YouTube search for a video walkthrough, otherwise you can carry on, learn what you need, and walk away as a pro. What an ace freebie!

The TL4 Sunburst guitar comes with a two year warranty (ace!), has steel strings and is made entirely from linden wood. It’s 64cm in size so it should be alright for most kids to handle quite comfortably. While this won’t necessarily be the world’s most awesome guitar, it’s  good place to start.

Now, if you would like to nab this guitar for £13.95 and avoid the horrors of postage costs then use the TL4 Sunburst Children’s Guitar £13.95 @ Conradcode 020077-89 to get it sent to your home for free.

I wish we hadn’t bought our daughter a plastic electronic monstrosity from ELC now, this is far better and is at least a good stepping stone to a real guitar.

Disney Princess Or Cars Optical Mouse £5 @ Play.com

By Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 1 September, 2010 at 4:00 pm

Disney Princess Or Cars Optical Mouse £5 @ Play.comIt well and truly is back to school now, with some schools already back in action and mums and dads across the land either crying or crying with relief. But that doesn’t mean we have to stop hunting down deals that could help your kids with their educational needs! These mice are brilliant for kids just starting out with computers and only cost £5 including delivery at Play.com.

The mice are both high-resolution optical chaps that offer three buttons and a scroll wheel. The cable comes with a slim USB connector and they have a clever ergonomic design. The Disney Princess mouse is heart shaped and pretty for those kids that like a bit of sparkle in their lives.

Disney Princess Or Cars Optical Mouse £5 @ Play.comThe Disney Cars mouse looks just like your usual mouse but has lots of lovely red on it – and anice pic of the Cars themselves. If I am honest, I am not sure how the heart-shaped mouse would work with little hands. It may look cute but I’m not convinced that it will be easy to use or good for them.

My First Wooden Easel £17.92 @ Amazon

By Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 31 August, 2010 at 6:00 pm

My First Wooden Easel £17.92 @ AmazonThere is something really satisfying about being a parent, about being able to inspire your children’s creativity and encourage them to explore their imaginations. We have one of these easels at home and it was one of the best investments ever. Now down to £17.92 at Amazon, this is a great deal with a saving of £12.07.

The easel is double-sided and made from lovely wood. It has a chalkboard and a whiteboard so kids can try out different textures and ideas. The set comes with six white chalks and six coloured chalks as well as a board eraser.

The easel is 90cm tall and comes ready assembled (so no terrifying fiddling with weird instructions here) and if you have two tots then they can both draw at the same time. Although, like most siblings, they’ll probably end up fighting My First Wooden Easel £17.92 @ Amazonbecause they both want the same side.

It is ideal for ages three and up and one of the coolest features is the tray underneath. Here you can store all their drawing equipment so they can get started whenever they’re in the mood.

Chicco Quatro £42 @ Mothercare

By Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 30 August, 2010 at 4:00 pm

Chicco Quatro £42 @ MothercareThis rather plastictastic toy/rider/device is down from £70 to only £42 at Mothercare and you can arrange for instore collection to avoid any sticky delivery charges. It is suitable from nine months to three years and offers a nice fat saving to parents into this sort of thing.

I’m honestly not sure about this product. It looks like a cross between a lawnmower and a futuristic hovercraft for kids. That, and all the plastic, makes me shudder a little. It is suitable for small children as a rocker thanks to its stable base, safety bar and harness.

Also, you can use it as a Push ‘n’ Go device with its removable footrest, the safety harness and the practical parent handle. It will also work as a Push ‘n’ Walk with a handy support for baby’s first steps and then it will mutate into a Sit Chicco Quatro £42 @ Mothercare‘n’ Ride foot powered car with a driving activity centre.

The toy asks you to supply two AA batteries and comes in either pink or red. If you’ve got an active baby and a big house then this may well be a fab deal for you. Me? I’d prefer something more sustainable and natural.
