I have to give in. Autumn is definitely here and winter is on its way. Goodbye toasty summer, sob. On the plus side, though, this is a GREAT time to invest in this kind of deal because you’ll get loads of lovely entertainment for those dark wintery nights.
You only get the £20 free M&S voucher (awesome) if you pay for your first month’s subscription. Now you need to bear in mind that LoveFilm do ask you to input your credit or debit card details when you sign up for the trial, and they won’t remind you that it is about to end. So, if you only plan on using it for a month then make sure you cancel everything in time or you will be charged.
You won’t be charged during the free trial, though, and if you’ve used a LoveFilm trial before then you won’t be eligible for this one. Oh, and you will need to return all your discs when you cancel your subscription or you’ll be charged. Right, that’s the fine print done. Now it’s time to enjoy this ACE deal.

I am constantly amazed at how much Peppa Pig merchandise there is, I mean, you can probably get a Peppa Pig car if you so desired. All these gadgets and gizmos smothered in Peppa Pigness and all from a show that lasts all of five minutes a time. I don’t get it. Anyway here you can nab some Peppa Pig headphones from The Hut, including free delivery, for only £4.93.
These headphones have been designed with kids in mind so they will protect their hearing while they listen to music, engage in learning, or do things that are noisy and demand headphones. They are suitable for children aged three and up.
They will fit into most DVD car entertainment systems, iPods, iPhones, MP3 players, laptops, PCs (including Apple) and portable gaming systems. Actually, with or without the Peppa Pig branding, a set of headphones like these are brilliant for when you go on your December holidays.
Kids will be able to hear their movies/games above the sound of the engine and you don’t have to listen to their shows for hours on end and can actually squeeze in some of your own music.

If you’re one of the brave parental souls who could get through the book and the movie, then this is definitely a keeper. Down to only £5.99 at HMV including delivery, the Lovely Bones is a rich, heartbreaking and dramatic story that will grip you from the start.
I have to confess that when I was first given the book I managed the first chapter and then had to put it down. I couldn’t bring myself to read any further as the thought of that happening to my daughter was too vivid and horrifying for words.
I did eventually read it to completion, it was gripping and wonderfully poignant, but I think I went through several boxes of tissues in the process. The movie stays as true to the book as is possible with the time limit but, for me, didn’t quite do it justice.
Although many people disagree with me as the reviews have all been sterling. It is as poignant and heartbreaking as the books so please, bring tissues. It is also a lovely stocking filler for Christmas.

It’s September and time always flies between now and Christmas, so I’m in Christmas list mode already – stop tutting and don’t run away screaming, try it! I promise, there’s nothing quite like having Crimbo all wrapped up way ahead of time!
DVD boxsets always make for great pressies (boxsets are for life, not just for Christmas!) and you can’t go wrong, price wise, if you pick them up from Zavvi.
If you are of a similar age to me then when I say ‘Street Hawk’ you’ll already be proclaiming, “OHHHH! I remember THAT! Street Hawk was AWESOME!” well, Zavvi have the complete series Street Hawk DVD box set up for grabs for just £17.95.
If you aren’t familiar with Street Hawk, he was the cooler motorbike alternative to Knight Rider and if you’re not familiar with Knight Rider then I can’t help you – you’re too young!
I was actually looking for a copy of The Notebook – I can be a bit of a romantic and people keep telling me I should watch it, I had a quick nosey for it in Tescos yesterday but couldn’t find it; Zavvi have it for £5.85 instead of £19.79.
Now, about that £10k! If you place the millionth order with Zavvi this month then you’ll win £10,000 in cash, it’s as simple as that! Click the link, read the T&Cs and best of luck if you place an order!

I know that usually we post deals that help parents save money with their children but today I hope you’ll forgive me if I indulge the parents a little bit. I adore Star Trek and have enormously fond memories of the movies from when I was a child, especially the Wrath of Khan, so this price for a digitally remastered Blu-ray set is really good.
The box set has all ten of the Star Trek movies and includes two bonus discs that have extra footage, interviews and more. The actual movies included in the set are Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Wrath of Khan (those bugs!), The Search for Spock, The Voyage Home, The Final Frontier, The Undiscovered Country, Generations, First Contact, Insurrection and Nemesis.
I’m sure many of you know the Star Trek “curse” when it comes to the movies? Every other even numbered film is better than the odd-numbered ones, however Nemesis did succumb to the curse while the Wrath of Khan (I think) was the odd numbered film to escape the curse.

It’s a bit like a trip down memory lane for me this morning, first there was the Very Hungry Caterpillar and now Scooby Doo!
I remember watching Scooby Doo on TV as a kid with my mum. She loved him more than we did, I’m sure, as she’d stop whatever it was she was doing and sit down with us to watch.
Scooby was, no IS, her favourite – in fact, she has a Scooby Doo hot water bottle! Scooby was my favourite too, Daphne was too girly for me and as for Thelma…well she just got on my nerves going on about her glasses all the time!
This Scooby Doo Mystery Machine DVD box set contains 10 discs, and the Mystery Machine is actually the presentation box which I think is pretty cool (that’s the team’s van for those who have no idea what the Mystery Machine is).
I was most tickled by this review on Play.com left by someone who received this box set as a pressie, I think they sum it up rather well so I’ll give them the final word…
This is an absolute MUST buy! My younger sister brought me this at Christmas and I’m 18! I Loved it and couldn’t ask for a better present!!

Considering that buying the book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, would cost you around £8 alone, this is a really good deal. Here you get both the last book and the latest film as a neat little bundle for only £4.80 at CD Wow.
Click here to get magical at CD Wow
In the movie, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, you get to enjoy the sixth instalment of the Harry Potter series with lots of glam and glitz and pyrotechnics. I am probably the only person who thought that this was the worst movie of the bunch, but anyway.
It wasn’t anywhere near the book for most of it and had some extra bits that made absolutely no sense at all. I was irritated by this, especially since the book had so much more meat to it that they could have used with better effect.
Anyway, if you haven’t read the final book yet, or seen the movie, then this is a pretty brilliant deal for you. If nothing else it could make a nice Christmas pressie for anyone who hasn’t finished their collection yet.

My daughter loves the movie, as do I, so the next logical step is to look into buying the game, and this low price makes it that little bit more affordable. Down to £12.99 at HMV and including free shipping and a whack of purehmv point, it’s quite a good deal.
The game takes you into a topsy-turvy world where Alice and her friends – Mad Hatter, March Hare, Cheshire Cat and White Rabbit – have to defeat the Red Queen and the Jabberwocky. Each of the different characters have unique abilities to help Alice along the way.
She has to evade traps, solve puzzles and find secret places in the game. You can combine powers to solve the more difficult puzzles and enjoy many hours of fun. The game follows the same storyline as the film and includes lots of extras to make it replayable.
I haven’t heard much about the game so I’m not sure if it’s a winner or a dud, but it should be a great way to entertain the kids over the school holidays.

The Horrid Henry books made for great reading; the Horrid Henry DVDs make for great viewing too!
If you are of a certain age you’ll remember the ‘My Naughty Little Sister’ books – wow, that really is going a l-o-n-g way back! – and they were really great. Horrid Henry is akin to her although he’s MUCH more naughty than she ever was.
There was/is always the popular misconception that if your little ones read about naughty things they’ll immediately want to rush out and do them; I remember this was a particularly vehement concern when Roald Dahl’s story about George and his marvellous medicine hit the book shelves.
Well, to my knowledge, no child poisoned their grandmother as a result of that and no child goes out full-bore to replicate the antics of Horrid Henry.
Kids are smart and the writers of such stories equally so; all three of my children, whilst amused by Horrid Henry, got the message loud and clear that this was NOT the way to behave. So if you were worried about HH having a negative impact on your child, fear not!
This Horrid Henry DVD features lots of episodes and is packed with special interactive features too.
It was £12.79 but those lovely folks at The Hut have reduced it to just £2.95 – so I’d grab a copy at this price whilst you can, it would be horrid if they put the price up again and you were too late.

This’ ‘The Best of the Wiggles’ DVD is either going to be one that you love, or one that you come to LOATHE; either way, your little one is just going to LOVE IT!
If you’ve never heard of The Wiggles, let me enlighten you.
They are a group of Aussie guys who sing and dance and they are MASSIVE! Well, they’re not massive personally (they’re quite skinny actually) but The Wiggles franchise is MASSIVE; they are worth an absolute fortune and kids, and some parents, completely and utterly adore them.
They are one of those strange phenomenons where you just have NO idea how they got to be so popular.
Their music CDs go gold and platinum, they’ve recently been on tour and their performances at Madison Square Gardens, in New York, and the Hammersmith Apollo here at home were sold OUT.
The songs on this DVD include: ‘Hot Potato’, ‘Wake Up Jeff!’, ‘The Monkey Dance’, ‘Tie Me Kangeroo Down Sport’, ‘The ZeeZap Song’, ‘You Make Me Feel Like Dancing’, ‘The Shimmie Shake!’ and ‘Over In The Meadow’.
The published price on the Tesco Ent’ website is £3 but if you enter this code – FTSL15-1 – it’ll drop down to £2.55 and there’s no delivery to pay, so £2.55 is all you need to part with to get wiggling with your little one.
