DrWho Quiz Collection £1 @ The Book People
You get four books in the Dr Who Quiz Collection, priced at £1 - and that includes delivery. The RRP on this set is £19.96.

This is only a bargain if you or someone you know is a Dr Who fan, but if they/you are, then it is a fabulous bargain.

From the inner workings of the Tardis and the far-flung destinations of the Doctor to his battles with the Daleks and the strange creatures he meets on his travels, test your knowledge of the Doctor's adventures with this set of four brilliant quiz books. With over 250 questions in each book there are hours of mind-blowing fun to be had for obsessed fans of Doctor Who everywhere!

Books in this collection:

  • Quiz Book
  • Quiz Book 2
  • Quiz Book 3
  • Quiz Book 4
I'm not entirely sure if these quiz books go up to the current doctor, as played by Matt Smith. Quiz book 3 for instance, is the Doctor with Martha Jones as the companion. I would assume that Quiz book 4 has Donna as the companion. Still excellent value though and well worth forking out a quid for.

Dr Who Sonic Screwdriver Wii Controller £8.95 @ The Hut

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 30 November, 2011 at 10:00 am

Dr Who Sonic Screwdriver Wii Controller £8.95 @ The HutOh now this is cool - a Sonic Screwdriver Wii Controller! You can grab one (or two, or as many as you like) for £8.95 at the moment, the usual price is £34.95.

This is a must-have Christmas present for any Dr Who fan who loves playing their Wii (that's three people in my household then) BUT, £8.95 for a Wii controller - sorry, Wiimote - is an absolute bargain in its own right as the normal ones sell for at least £15 at full price.

The Dr Who Sonic Screwdriver Wii Controller is compatible with all Nintendo Wii games and it can be connected to the Wii Nunchuck controller and Wii MotionPus attachments.

There's no need to worry about it eating batteries either as the Sonic Screwdriver Wii Controller is powered by a rechargeable battery which is charged via the charge cable, which is supplied - if this is like the rechargeable Wii controller batteries we have, they just plug into the back of the Wii via USB.

Here's what one person had to say about their Dr Who Sonic Screwdriver Wii Controller...

"Doctor Who: Sonic Screwdriver Remote Controller for Wii is a brilliant remote, it doesn't need batteries as it comes with a lead that just charges the remote when you plug it into the Wii. This remote works really well with most games. I highly recommend."

There's no delivery to pay on UK mainland orders with The Hut, so it's just £8.95 to pay if you're only looking at buying one - although, if there's more than one Dr Who fan in your house, buy a single Sonic Screwdriver Wii Controller at your peril!

Doctor Who: Complete Series 1 - 4 Box Set £41.85 @ Zavvi

Doctor Who: Complete Series 1 - 4 Box Set £41.85 @ Zavvi*sings* OOOO-EEEEE-OOOOOO......EEEEE-OOOOOO.....EEEE-EEEE-OOOOOOO EEEE-OOOO-OOOOO (you can do the du-du-du-dumms bit!)

Mention Dr Who to me and I think of two things - 1) being at my nan's on a Saturday afternoon, lying on the floor in front of the TV and watching the latest episode with my cousins and 2) the immediate discussion that ensues at PlayPennies HQ as to who is the best AND the best-looking Dr Who (David Tennant is still winning).

Doctor Who: Complete Series 1 - 4 Box Set £41.85 @ ZavviThey say that, like James Bond, your first Dr Who is your favourite - this would be Tom Baker for me and whilst his voice is great, I'm afraid David Tennant wins my vote for favourite.

This box set has series 1 - 4 on a staggering 23 discs and would make a GREAT Father's Day present for any Dr Who dad.

Now, the price published on the Zavvi website is £46.85 (reduced from the rrp of £89.99) but there is a sneaky trick you can use to get £5 off and drop this price, here's how:

1. Go to deal.
2. add to basket
3. click view basket
4. change currency to Euros (click the euro icon in the top right)
5. input voucher code SAVE5
6. switch back to UK currency (click GB flag in top right)
7. the discount of £5 is applied - purchase as normal.

(thanks to andywedge and piemakers for that)

So there you are - a massive 3650 minutes of Dr Who for your viewing enjoyment!

Selected Dr Who figures £4.49 @ Play.com

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 5 June, 2010 at 10:00 am

Selected Dr Who figures £4.49 @ Play.comAre your offspring mad about Dr Who? If they are then you’ll know that the toys and figures that go with the series are very good quality but also rather expensive. I try to keep an eye out for deals like this. Play.com are selling a selected range of Dr Who figures at half price with free delivery. These are from the last episodes of the David Tennant doctor – The End of Time. All except the Matt Smith doctor figure, he’s still full price.

Since my son was about two years old he’s been an avid Dr Who fan. He loves watching the episodes every week, preferably curled into my husband’s side so he can hide behind his arm during the scary bits. He’s a bit of a fanboy though – only David Tennant is the doctor as far as he’s concerned. Although he still watches the Matt Smith episodes. It works well for me too – when he doesn’t want to brush his teeth I just have to point out that ‘The Doctor brushes his teeth, look how white they are’. Also works for eating greens, having a bath and getting dressed for school!

Selected Dr Who figures £4.49 @ Play.comPersonally I love the Dr Who figures, they’re solid and well built with nice touches (like the way the joints all move) and lots of great detail. But they’re so expensive! At £4.49, the 5” figures being sold by Play.com at the moment are a great way to stock up on stocking fillers or extra birthday presents. There are three 5” figures in the sale. The dishevelled and injured Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) with a sonic screwdriver, the Master (John Simm) in dark and dusty clothes and The Narrator (Timothy Dalton) in Time Lord robes and holding his staff.

Doctor Who: Dalek Fleece Blanket @ Play.com

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 16 May, 2010 at 8:00 pm

Doctor Who: Dalek Fleece Blanket @ Play.comThis is a fleece blanket, with a Dalek on it. For £5 with free delivery. Do we need to say anything more!

Personally I only have one more thing to say – why don’t these come in double bed sizes? My five year old son isn’t just nuts about Dr Who, he wants to be The Doctor when he grows up (although touchingly he did check first that he’d be able to still live with me if he became the doctor, before committing to the career choice). He doesn’t have such a good grasp of goodies and baddies though. In his world, there are no baddies – just people or characters who are a bit naughty but are really the good guy’s friends. So, he does think the Daleks are the DoctorDoctor Who: Dalek Fleece Blanket @ Play.com’s best mates, and he loves them to pieces. One of his favourite games is to put the washing basket on his head and run around the room shouting ‘exterminate, exterminate’. I think I know someone who’ll be getting a Dalek blanket very soon.
