Vintage Dominoes £3.96 @Dotcomgiftshop

by Heidi Scrimgeour in Deals on 13 April, 2010 at 9:00 am

They seem to have gone vintage mad over at dotcomgiftshop! This delightfully Vintage Dominoes £3.96 @Dotcomgiftshopretro set of dominoes is a bargain at just £3.95.

This looks like a really beautiful set of dominoes with vintage-style pictures on each domino card. The game comes in a retro box containing 28 dominoes plus an easy-to-follow instruction booklet and rules-of -the-game guide.

This item is suitable for  children between the ages of 4 and 8 years and I can definitely vouch for dominoes as an inspired way of entertaining little people. My lads adore dominoes and are building up quite a repertoire of different games that they know how to play, and they absolutely love explaining the rules and counting the cards out among players. It's great for everything from helping them learn how to co-operate to building numeracy skills.

What I love about this item is the classic, nostalgic design. Often these days the most affordable toys and games for children are also the most tacky but dotcomgiftshop certainly seem to have a knack for tracking down items that are both easy on your pocket and lovely to look at too.

Wooden School Colouring Set £3.95 @Dotcomgiftshop

This cute school colouring set consists of a ruler, 12 coloured pencils and a wooden pencil sharpener, and it's just £3.95 at Dotcom Gift Shop.Wooden School Colouring Set £3.95 @Dotcomgiftshop

The site does warn of a choking hazard associated with this toy and stresses that it is not suitable for children under the age of 3 years and should not be used without  adult supervision so do bear that in mind.

It's a cute little Wooden School Colouring Set £3.95 @Dotcomgiftshopitem for a budding artist, and strikes me as ideal for slipping in your bag to ensure that you've always got a means of keeping your little people entertained. I think kids will adore the wooden box with its sliding lid - it's just the sort of thing my 5 year old would get very attached to. I love that it comes with a pencil sharpener, too, because there are few things more irritating to a child than a box full of blunt and unusable coloured pencils.

I'm always amazed at the fact that some paper and coloured pencils can actually buy me a fairly civilised cuppa with my kids in tow. You just might need to pack a notebook to make sure you're never caught short or your budding Picassos might be tempted to start scribbling on the walls.

Be prepared to be presented with endless masterpieces, too!

Magic Drawing Slate £1 @Dotcomgiftshop

Remember these? Magic drawing slates! I haven't seen once since I was aboutMagic Drawing Slate £1 @Dotcomgiftshop six years old.

These magic drawing slates are just £1 over at www.dotcomgiftshop and would make a cute little retro pressie for someone special, or a fun item for popping in a Christmas stocking or a party bag.

We used to lose hours drawing masterpieces on these as kids, and the magic lay in the fact that you could rub out your picture and start all over again endlessly. I think kids would love them as a toy to keep them entertained on long journeys and I bet they'd have real novelty value as a radical alternative to all our modern gadgetry!

Magic Drawing Slate £1 @Dotcomgiftshop Delivery is £3.95 so you will need to purchase several, or other items as well, to make it worth your while but I'm tempted to snap these up as party bag goodies for later in the year... that is, if you don't beat me to it!

There are HEAPS of other slate designs so do have a good look around the site!
