  • Discount: £10
  • Minimum spend: £50
  • Promotional code: not necessary
  • Expires: 10th April 2012

To use this code, make sure your total comes to £50 or more. You'll see a running total as you shop, in the top right hand part of the page. Then, go to the Shopping Basket page and you'll see all the applied discounts listed on the bottom left of the page.

I tested it out on a range of  toy  items that my son has been after for a while, plus some for the present drawer. It is April, but I have exactly what I need now for his stocking fillers. Plus a few items to use when a little 'present' is required. For example, on the first day of our holiday.

The discounts applied included a two for £20 offer on Disney dolls on the site (er action figures!). These were normally £12.50, so that's a saving of £5. Also the £4.95 delivery charge was deducted, plus a couple of the toys were in the sale.

In total, the discounts came to £15, plus the £4.95 for delivery, so I paid £40 for the order delivered.

Disney Store Online Free UK Delivery Today Only @ The Disney Store

Disney Store Online Free UK Delivery Today Only @ The Disney Store

Ok, so, fans of Disney goodies and merchandise and films should find this to be particularly charming when it comes to deals. The Disney Store is offering free delivery on all of their UK orders for one day only – 15 March 2012 – which is a saving of £4.95.

The Disney Store’s original charge of nearly £5 for delivery is appalling anyway. I mean, it’s not like this franchise is short of money or anything, is it? I am not a huge fan of their behaviour as a rule but free delivery is free delivery and, if you merge it with their sales, I guess you can score some ace deals.

The free delivery Ts & C’s mean that it is free UK delivery with every purchase, it is only available on disneystore.co.uk, it expires at 23:59 tonight, and the offer only applies to new purchases only. So there you go, free delivery at the Disney Store, have fun!

20% Off Everything (Today Only) @ The Disney Store

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 29 February, 2012 at 9:00 am

20% Off Everything (Today Only) @ The Disney StoreHAPPY LEAP DAY!  The Disney Store are celebrating this extra day in the year by taking 20% off EVERYTHING, both in-store and online, for TODAY ONLY.

With 20% off everything the world is literally your Disney discount oyster; where are you going to start?! I rarely buy anything from the Disney Store but I do love mooching round their 'in the real' stores , there's something very magical and childlike about being in one.

If you have a Disney Store local to you and you'd prefer to peruse everything in-store then you need to go visit the Disney Store on Facebook and pick up your in-store 20% off discount code.

If you're going to do your Disney store shopping online then you need to add code LEAP20 to your basket and the 20% will only be applied to your purchases, not delivery as well (I suppose we can't have everything!).

You don't need me to go through all the Disney characters do you?  I'm sure you're already very well aware of who they all are and which ones are your child's favourites.

Just remember, this deal is running for today only and stock on all the popular things and sizes tends to fly off the shelves, both real and virtual, so the sooner you choose and order the better.

Special Agent Oso Soft Toy £12.60 @ Disney Store

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 17 February, 2012 at 6:00 pm

Special Agent Oso Soft Toy £12.60 @ Disney Store

I remember when Special Agent Oso toys were impossible to find anywhere, when they would fire out of stock faster than Disney could make them. Now, those of you who couldn’t lay your hands on one for love or money can nab him for a discount!

This Special Agent Oso toy is scrummy and soft and he is marked down from a hefty £18 to a far more palatable £12.60. Whoever is the recipient of this Special Agent Oso toy has only one assignment – to make sure that he is smothered with loves and cuddles.

He has soft velour fur, a bean bag tummy and he is wearing a sweet little jacket and his special agent watch. The Special Agent Oso soft toy pictured here is exclusive to the Disney Store and he is about 30x20cm in size.

I find that the Disney Store products are usually very overpriced so this discount makes it far easier to spend the money on a toy many kids love.

I tested it out on a range of  items from my son's favourite movies. Specifically a Buzz Lightyear costume for £20, Disney Cars Deluxe Racer set for £20, and a couple of action figures. In total my basket came to £50.49. Delivery of £4.95 was deducted, and the £10 taken off, so in total including delivery the whole bill came to £40.49. Making it one of the few times where I didn't leave the Disney store, either in person or online, without feeling like my wallet had been violated.

Disney Store Discounts And Delivery Drops Ends Today

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 30 November, 2011 at 3:00 pm

Disney Store Discounts And Delivery Drops Ends Today

The Disney Store has quite a good offer going on at the moment but it expires at midnight tonight so get in there as fast as you can, especially if you haven’t finished your Christmas shopping yet. The deal applies to sale items too so, tally ho!

Right, so this is the story. You get 15% off £75 spend, 10% off a £50 spend and free delivery for all orders over £30. It used to be £75 for free delivery so that is a very nice discount. You can nab some great Christmas gifts or stocking fillers from the sales department and score on any one of these special offers.

The Disney Store also has 25% off a wide range of toys and half price offers on plush toys, art kits and other items. Some of the ones that I rather liked were the Cars 2 bits and bobs, the Rapunzel ranges and the princesses.

The site isn’t very well laid out so finding deals is a bit tedious, but it is worth it if you really dig in to find those discounts.

Disney Character Mug And Coaster £4 @ Disney Store

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 18 November, 2011 at 4:00 pm

Disney Character Mug And Coaster £4 @ Disney Store

There are four character Disney mugs to choose from at The Disney Store and they are all selling for £4 each. However, if you buy two then you get one for half price, dropping the cost of each set down to only £3 each. This is a really cute little deal for Christmas gifts!

There are four different Disney character mugs to choose from – Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Comic Strip. Personally I think the Comic Strip mug set is the best, it just feels more fun and varied. However, these are all lovely sets to buy for little (and big!) Disney fans.

If you look below each set you will see the marker saying that you can buy one and get one half price. The mugs used to cost £10 each, so dropping it down to £3 each with this deal is very good indeed. The only down side here is that delivery from The Disney Store is ridiculously high at £4.95 so you may want to see if this deal applies instore.

Free Personalisation @ Disney Store

by Tamsin Oxford in Freebies on 28 October, 2011 at 6:00 pm

Free Personalisation @ Disney Store

So the Disney Store is offering free personalisation on all their personalisation range from now until 02 November (at midnight). The range of items you can personalise is pretty impressive, it even includes sale items, but the cost of delivery is mean and nasty.

The free personalisation can cover anything from their Christmas range of gifts and decorations to pyjamas and clothes and gowns and toys. I even found comforters and blankets which fell into the free personalisation category.

Some of the items included in the freebie are just too stunning for words and I look at them with longing. The thing is, for a company that makes so much money and that is so entrenched in society, you’d think they could offer decent delivery rates as £4.95 for delivery is really pricy and I am not sure if they do the personalisation instore or not.

Some of the really cute items that, to me, are worth personalising are the Winnie the Pooh Christmas comforter, the range of bedding and gowns, and cute slippers.

Finn McMissile Cars 2 Remote Control Car £12.50 @ Disney Store

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 14 October, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Finn McMissile Cars 2 Remote Control Car £12.50 @ Disney Store

There's 50% off Finn McMissile, the remote controlled car from Cars 2 at Disney Store. Normally retailling at £25, it is now £12.50.

This fun and snazzy looking remote controlled car comes with a handset that sends Finn McMissile forwards and backwards, steers it left and right, and activates 15 popular phrases.

The car features pop-out wings and light up machine guns – in true spy-car fashion.

Finn McMissile measures 8cm high by 26.5cm in length, making it a decent size to play with – although it's suitable for children aged 3 and over. It requires both a 9V battery and 5x batteries, which are all included.

If there's a Cars 2 fan in the house, this looks like a brilliant little gift idea, at a pretty great price, even when you include the £4.95 standard delivery option, but fortunately the offer is available in store nation wide.

You can complete the set with Lightning McQueen, Mater and Francesco, but they'll cost you £25 a piece.

Toy Story Sing ‘n Yodel Jessie £12.50 @ Disney Store

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 14 October, 2011 at 6:00 pm

Toy Story Sing ‘n Yodel Jessie £12.50 @ Disney Store

Oooh, now this is a sweet deal from Disney, especially since their products are usually quite expensive. Here is the new Toy Story Sing ‘n Yodel Jessie who is not only a brand new design, but she is also at 50% off her usual price of £25.

I think it is quite remarkable that Disney have not only launched a new toy but launched it at half price so I’m very tempted to get this cute little Jessie doll. My daughter is such a big Jessie fan that she won’t let her old Jessie doll out of her sight.

This doll looks and sounds just like the feisty cowgirl from Toy Story and has a rag doll style body with a detailed rubber head and removable hat. There is a string on her back which lets her speak phrases from the film and yodel out loud too.

If I am honest she looks just like the Jessie doll I got last time, only for half the price! Darn…

Rapunzel Wig Review

by Tamsin Oxford in Reviews on 27 August, 2011 at 5:00 pm

Rapunzel Wig Review

My daughter recently became addicted to Rapunzel thanks to the latest Disney Princess to hit the market in Tangled. She has spent the better part of the last two months wearing a blanket on her head, held firmly in place with a hat.

This has, obviously, caused all sorts of problems due to a) it getting stuck on the door, b) getting stuck under everybody’s feet and c) picking up every last ounce of dirt as it drags by. So when I heard that I could nab an official Rapunzel wig off Disney for a mere £10 I was off.

The wig comes in a neat little box with care instructions that are really not difficult to follow. You can wash the wig, albeit gently, you can brush it and you can style it. It is utterly gorgeous and very cute. It also comes wrapped in a big hair net so you can store it safely when it isn’t being used.

Now my daughter already has long blonde hair so this didn’t look that odd on her. In fact, unless you looked really closely, it looked as if she had extraordinarily long blonde hair. When you look closely, though, you can see the sparkly strands that no normal child would grow.

The wig is easy to take care of and to maintain although, as you’d expect, it gets very knotty at the ends and you will get tired of having to pick them out with your fingers. Brushing is inadvisable as you’ll lose hair that way.

Another down side is that there is this tied up bit in the front that only looks good for about three seconds before it gets hooked and scruffy. I had to remove it and retie it with some ribbon to make it look good. Overall this is an excellent purchase that has had a lot of mileage!

Disney Store Promotional Code: £5 Off On £50 Order

by Lynley Oram in Deals on 17 July, 2011 at 8:00 pm

Disney Store Promotional Code: £5 Off On £50 OrderUse this Disney Store promotional code to get £5 off your order when you spend £50 or more. This is a particularly handy code if you're buying a special item or items. It is effectively the same as free delivery, as delivery costs £4.95. Usually you need to spend more than £75 to get free delivery.

Click here to use your Disney Store promotional code

  • Discount: £5
  • Minimum spend: £50
  • Promotional code: MVC50
  • Expires: unknown

To use this code, go to the Shopping Basket page and enter it in the box under Special Offers and Discounts. It will be applied automatically to your order.

I tested it out on a range of Disney Pixar Cars merchandise. Specifically a pair of shorts with t-shirt, priced at £10, a pair of pyjamas, also Cars 2, for £18 and a Cars 2 costume for £22. I probably won't go ahead and buy all these though. I've not been thrilled with the quality of the clothing I've bought from Disney in the past.

The t-shirts have all worn through around the tag where it is sewn into the back of the t-shirt, and in key stress areas such as under the arms. Disappointing when an item costs this much.

I do like their pyjamas though. I have PJs bought when my son was 2 years old. He is now six, and I've cut the arms back on the tops. With the trousers now the length of shorts, they make great summer PJs. Plus, they're not really that faded, and there's hardly any wear on them.

I've recently bought two more pairs of PJs from them. I figure that £18 spread out over 4 years is pretty good value. Plus the quality is good enough that he wears them out as t-shirts too, and the trousers have even become light-weight joggers for warmer weather!

Toys Up To 50% Off @ Disney Store

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 1 July, 2011 at 8:00 am

Toys Up To 50% Off @ Disney StoreLove ‘em or hate ‘em, Disney have something of a monopoly on so much of the market, and while even their sale items might still be overpriced at times, if you’re after something from Disney, it’s still better to pay the overpriced sale price than the overly overpriced full price.

So, what will you find in the Disney Store up to 50% off sale?

Here’s a selection:

There are 497 items in the sale, with prices starting at £1.19 (for the Wizards of Waverly Place Gel Pen Set – which is 70% off) and over 250 items are under £5. The only kicker is that unless you spend over £75, you’re looking at £4.95 delivery.

Special Agent Oso Toys £18.00 @ Disney Store

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 22 January, 2011 at 8:00 am

Special Agent Oso Toys £18.00 @ Disney Store

Special Agent Oso Toys are £18.00 at the Disney Store right now. It's not a deal, per se, as it's not on offer, but finding these furry fellows has been a mission in and of itself! So, if you are still after one, rather than £30.00 + on a certain auction website – here it is, in stock, for £18.00

I am actually writing this in fear and trepidation, because last time the Special Agent Oso toy was in stock, it had gone out of stock before I could hit publish.

If you're wondering what on earth this Special Agent Oso toy is, I'll tell you what Wikipedia says about him: “a special agent appearing as a colorful panda bear that helps children. He has a computerized assistant named “Paw Pilot” who tells Oso the ‘three special steps’ he needs to accomplish for his current mission. When he accomplishes the tasks, he gets a reward called the “Digi-Medal”. Oso is a children's parody of James Bond. His line is, "It's all part of the plan, more or less."

Some of the missions include things like 'brushing your teeth', or Oso learns to 'be gentle', 'use a brush' or 'use a flashlight'.

Last year, and especially before Christmas, this little guy was ridiculously hard to find, and expensive if you did, so hopefully now he'll stick around a little longer – assuming your Special Agent Oso fans are still patiently waiting!

Special Agent Oso Bear @ Disney

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 1 December, 2010 at 8:00 am

Special Agent Oso Bear @ DisneySTAY ALERT EVERYONE!! After months of frustration Disney Stores are expecting more Special Agent Oso Bear stock TODAY!

Our eagle-eyed friends over on HUKD were given an email heads up yesterday from the Disney Store:

"We are expecting this item to arrive back in stock tomorrow. Therefore, please visit our site regularly to avoid disappointment"

If you've been desperately trying to get your hands on of these Special Agent Oso Bears then I suggest you take the day off work (say you're snowed in or something!), have your credit/debit card at the ready and keep hitting refresh.

For the last two months we've been sitting in the PlayPennies office utterly bemused at the brouhaha surrounding Special Agent Oso.

Firstly, none of us knew who he was until Lynley wrote about him, then we discovered that he's HOT!

Not in the literal, good-looking or out of the back of Del Boy's Reliant Robin sense - but the whole country seems to have gone mad in their quest to secure a Special Agent Oso Bear.

I just had a quick scout on eBay and found one that sold for £48! That's more than three times his rrp - I hope he's REALLY special for that price!!

If YOU are just as clueless about Special Agent Oso as we were, let me help you out.  He's a yellow and blue panda and, believe it or not, is a special agent - who'd have known! - who comes to the aid of children who need help.

I've never seen the TV programme, I might just have to check out an episode or two to try and understand what all the fuss is about that's causing a £15 Special Agent Oso Bear to sell for more than three times that!

I'll keep watching the Disney Store for those magic words 'In Stock' - if you want one, GOOD LUCK!

Lotso Bear £20 @ The Disney Store

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 18 November, 2010 at 6:00 pm

Lotso Bear £20 @ The Disney Store

Toy Story 3’s Lotso Bear is definitely one of the Must Have Christmas presents this year. Constantly sold out in most stores and selling for ridiculous prices on eBay, he is very, very popular. Well, he is currently back in stock at The Disney Store for the usual price of £20 right this minute.

There are several different variations of Lotso Bear available at the moment. Ranging from the talking version which is very expensive, down to the little versions that don’t have much extras. This chap sits right in the middle.

This Lotso Bear is soft and squishy and smells of strawberries (yum!) but he doesn’t have any of the fancy talking extras. This is just a cuddly bear. I think that £20 is quite a steep price to pay for what’s basically a teddy bear with a smell, but so many people have asked me about when it is back in stock I felt important to let you know.

So, if you want Lotso, then this is your chance. Only two allowed per order.

Spend £10 And Get Marie For £4.99 @ The Disney Store

by Tamsin Oxford in Deals on 21 August, 2010 at 3:00 pm

Spend £10 And Get Marie For £4.99 @ The Disney StoreIf you spend more than £10 at the Disney Store you’ll get walk ‘ talk Marie for only £4.99. Usually retailing for £12, this is a rather lovely discount for this adorable little kitten from the Aristocats.

I recently got the Aristocats on DVD for my daughter because I had such fond memories of this movie. It’s weird because I was actually a little disappointed. I think perhaps I confused it with the Lady and the Tramp which made me cry every single time. Remember the Disney movies with the Siamese cat ninjas? That’s the one I’m looking for.

Anyway, my daughter loves it and this pampered kitten is as cute as a button and doesn’t make any of the mess that a real kitten would. If you press one button on her controller she’ll miaow and wag her tail, while the other one will have her walking along.

It needs three AAA batteries (ouch) and is for children over the age of three.

Cinderella Aquadraw £14.99 @ DisneyStore

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 21 May, 2010 at 3:00 pm

Cinderella Aquadraw £14.99 @ DisneyStoreHere's a fab Friday deal for your little princess

"What would you like to today my little cherub?"

"I'd like to do some painting please!"

"....sure you wouldn't prefer something else?"

"Nope, I'd like to do painting which will require maximum floor and wall protection along with constant supervision so you can't multi-task and do anything else all the while my artistic flair is in full flow!"

GREAT! *sigh*  There's a time and a place for full-blown painting days but sometimes it's just such a palava and things like this aquadraw mat have saved me on more than on occasion!

There are lots of different ones out there but essentially they all require a bit of water in the special pen - that's what makes it 'painting' not drawing in children's eyes - and a happy child to draw all over the mat.

Cinderella Aquadraw £14.99 @ DisneyStoreThe water produces patterns on the mat which fade as it dries so you can start all over again - no more going through a small rainforest of paper!  This particular mat also has a special roller that rolls a pretty starry path on the mat which the Cinderella and Prince Charming figures will dance their way along along to music.

The mat is approximately 90cm x 105cm, Cinders and Mr Charming need 2 AA batteries (which aren't included), is suitable for little princesses aged three years or more and unless you're going to spend more than £75 delivery is going to cost you £4.95.

Happy clean painting!
