Panasonic Lumix F3 12.1MP Digital Camera £49.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 16 July, 2011 at 9:00 am

Panasonic Lumix F3 12.1MP Digital Camera £49.99 @ ArgosArgos are selling this Panasonic Lumix F3 12.1MP digital camera for £49.99 instead of £79.99.

It still makes me chuckle to think that the first digital camera I bought in 2002 (I think) cost me just over £250 and only had 2 mega pixels six scene settings and a self-timer feature - that was about it, but at the time it was all-singing-all-dancing and I loved it.

This Panasonic Lumix F3 digital camera has 12.1 mega pixels and more features than you could shake the proverbial stick at!

It has 22 scene settings, can detect up to 16 faces, has continuous shooting (6 frames per second) and can also shoot movies.

It has a 4 x optical zoom and a 4 x digital zoom, a wide angle lens and 2.7 LCD display.

It also features digital anti-blur technology - the list goes on and on but, as far as I can gather, it doesn't go quite as far as cooking the dinner for you - and the full spec' is on the Argos website.

It's not available for home delivery, but at £5.95 that's no great heartbreak, and there are a fair few in stock around the country - I used www.icheckstock.co.uk to have a good look around.

Kodak Easy Share M530 Digital Camera £49.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 28 March, 2011 at 10:00 am

Kodak Easy Share M530 Digital Camera £49.99 @ AmazonAmazon are selling this Kodak Easy Share M530 12MP Digital Camera for less than half price - £49.99 instead of £119.99.

This is a nifty little camera if your kids are after one and you're not quite ready to let them run riot with your much more expensive photographic device.

I bought my youngest something similar for Christmas; he's almost five and whilst all the plastic fantastic cameras for kids are ok, he has quite an eye for a good shot and is showing promise as a rather nifty little 'tog.

As a photographer too I'm more than happy to develop this talent (ohh yes, that pun was completely intended) and want to teach him how to look after his kit from the word go and not get used to using and abusing it.

This Kodak Easy Share M530 digital camera has a one-button upload function to YouTube™, FACEBOOK, Flickr and KODAK Gallery sites, plus emails too.

It will help you take better pictures with Kodak Smart Capture technology and you'll be able to find photos more easily with face recognition technology.

It has a 3x optical zoom with blur reduction and face detection, along with 12 Megapixels and 2.7 inch LCD screen.

Reviewers are more than happy with it...

"I bought this Camera for my 9 yr old Granddaughter as a Christmas present, it works well and can be used simply or more complexly if she develops an interest in photography. It is small and compact and produces a good image"

"This lovely little kodak camera was a gift for my teenage daughter, it is really light weight, funky colour, easy to use and share to facebook etc, my daughter is over the moon and i am too, wish i bought it for myself too."

One word of warning - the Kodak Easy Share M530 doesn't come with a memory card and will only store about seven photos on it's internal memory, so you'll need to by an SD card too.

Vtech Buzz Lightyear Digital Camera And Bag £39.39 @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 22 November, 2010 at 7:00 pm

Vtech Buzz Lightyear Digital Camera And Bag £39.39 @ AmazonDigital cameras for little ones are simply great and this Vtech Buzz Lightyear Digital Camera comes with a bag, all for just £39.39 – a 34% saving. The  next best retailer price I could find was £54.97.

It's not often that any of us get to write about Vtech products, as Sarah here at PlayPennies HQ normally nabs anything from them, but this time I got me a Vtech deal! Sorry Sarah!

Okay, so this isn't the greatest camera ever designed, but with the 1.8” LCD screen and 2.0 megapixel resolution and a 1.5 – 8 foot flash range, it's just fine for little ones. It has a 256MB built-in memory, but can take up to a 16GB SD or SDHC memory card – enough for about 500 photos or 10 minutes of video.

It comes with an A/V cable for TV connection, and a USB cable for PC Connection. There's also photo editing software for extra fun.

At 239g the Vtech Buzz Lightyear digital camera is perfectly light for little hands, and it's robust and sturdy casing should protect it from inevitable knocks and bumps.

So why buy a kiddie camera, rather than just a cheap digital camera? Well, exactly that – it's robust and will probably last a little longer.

At such a good price and with free delivery, this'll make a great Christmas present!

Sanyo VPC-S120 12 Megapixel Camera £44.99 @ Play

Sanyo VPC-S120 12 Megapixel Camera £44.99 @ Play

I know you're wondering what this Sanyo Camera for £44.99 from Play is doing on a parenting site, but bear with me!

As a first time mum and as a now 'experienced' mum to a one year old, I have been asked countless times what advice I would give to new parents, and my ten pence is simple: take at least one picture every day. It's a much harder challenge to meet than you might at first suspect, because really, some days you do nothing other than laundry! But take one picture every day, even if it is just of the washing machine, because not only does it give you a record of those first weeks when you look back through hazy memories, but you will also be so surprised to see the daily changes in your little one.

To aid this, I have always carried a compact camera in our nappy bag. That way, I can take a snap in the park, at the play group, in the car or at home. I have my 'real' camera for the important occasions, but having a nappy bag happy snapper means I don't have to worry about keeping it safe, but always have a way to capture moments that pass too soon.

I've never used a Sanyo camera, but at £44.99 it certainly seems worth trying.

The 12 megapixels means you can enlarge the pictures you love without losing quality, and the 2.7” screen makes for easy viewing of your pictures immediately after. When photographing children, face detection and image stabilisation are definite pluses too.

For moments too good to capture in still, there's a video mode and with a 32GB memory capacity you wont need to download pictures every day either. Another fantastic bonus for a busy parent who might not always remember to charge an internal battery is that the Sanyo camera takes two AA batteries, which can be replaced on the run, if needed.

In an already stocked nappy bag, the 99 grams of this camera will hardly make a difference, and can easily be moved to your handbag when you leave behind the nappy days.

Do you have a camera in your nappy bag? What are your thoughts?

Hitachi 12MP Camera £119.99 @ ArgosSay CHEEEEESE!!!!

Right, the other day I posted a great deal on a camera that went out of stock pretty sharpish - this black Hitachi HDC-1299E 12MP digital camera is currently available for home delivery and it's in stock at some random stores that I checked in (don't shoot me down in flames if yours wasn't one of them, I can't check 'em all!).

Argos have cut the price of this camera in half, down to £119.99 from £239.99 so I rather suspect it's not going to stay in stock for very long - don't DAWDLE if you're in the market for camera!

The spec' very comprehensive and has all the usual bits and pieces and features you can expect on these little photographic marvels:

Now, I've  no experience of shooting with a Hitachi (I'm a Canon and Sony girl) but the reviews for this camera are glowing!

"Absolutely fabulous, the best camera i have ever owned, Brilliant!"

"I wanted a pocket camera to suppliment my digital SLA camera, for the price you can't go far wrong."

"Excellent camera, more superior than other digital cameras I have owned and bargain price at the sales. Excellent!"

You get the picture! And it comes in 'manly' BLACK so could make an ideal Father's Day gift (20 June girls!).

If you can't pick this up in store then delivery is going to set you back £5.95 but, hey you could spend that in petrol and parking to get into town to go and collect; horses for courses and all that.

Happy snapping if you snap one of the beauties up!

Canon IXUS 200 £149.97 at Currys

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 29 May, 2010 at 9:00 am

Canon IXUS 200 £149.97 at CurrysThis little Canon camera may well be my deal of the day!

Go and have a quick look over at Amazon and you'll see this exact same camera currently selling for £227.95 and that's with the price reduced from £349!

When I bought my first little digital point and shoot 10 years ago it was quite chunky by today's standards, it had a 'massive' 2.2 mega pixels and cost me over £350!  Just 10 years ago!

A few weeks ago I bought a new point and shoot digital camera as the big digital one I use for work is too big to 'play tourist' with - it's actually got MORE mega pixels than the big one and is so tiny it fits in my handbag and cost me the same as this little Canon deal; amazing.

The techincal spec' of the Canon IXUS 200 is vast and writing the ins and outs of it would be like typing War and Peace, but in a nutshell it does everything you can possibly want it to...well, almost *grin*

It has 12.1 megapixels, image stabilising, automatic scene detection, face detection, it can be switched to video mode just to name a very few of the features it has.

So if you've been looking and hanging out for a camera bargain then, as a photographer, I'm happy to recommend this one to you.

Happy snapping and thanks to tee_lee over at HUKD for this great deal!
