Crayola: Creations 3 In 1 Emotion Designs £2.99 @ Play.com

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 17 February, 2012 at 7:00 pm

Crayola: Creations 3 In 1 Emotion Designs £2.99 @ Play.com

Play.com is offering £2 off the Creations 3 In 1 Emotion Designs from Crayola, reducing it from £4.99 to £2.99. For almost a fiver, this is a little expensive, but for £3 it’s not too bad.

I don’t think I’ve met a little girl (especially) who didn’t love stickers. I remember as kids we used to collect and swap stickers, and every decade or so my sister and I will go through a box of old things at our parent’s house and rediscover the treasures  that have survived from those years.

These would be great for decorating a journal, or if you’re that way inclined, to help toddlers learn to understand and express emotions.

The pen includes two inks and a mechanical pencil mode, which  you change by twisting the barrel to the instrument you want to write with. The stamper is also three in one and has different patterns for decorating paper and envelopes and so on.

I can see this being loads of fun!

Crayola Hippo Baby And Me £3.99 @ Argos eBay Outlet

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 5 November, 2011 at 9:00 am

Crayola Hippo Baby And Me £3.99 @ Argos eBay OutletOh this Crayola Hippo Baby and Me is just CUTE! The Argos eBay outlet are selling this little ceramic painting kit for £3.99 - the other suspects have them priced at between £12 and £14.

I'd pop over there quickly if you want one of these Crayola Hippo Baby and Me sets, things like this tend to sell out pretty sharpish and once all their stock is gone, that's it.

I loved being given things like this for either my birthday or Christmas - activity/arts and craft pressies are just awesome - and I've have spent a happy Christmas day afternoon painting and decorating Mummy Hippo and her baby.

You get five little pots of paint and a brush and can create and paint whatever designs and patterns you wish for your hippos.  The Mummy Hippo also has a secret hide-inside feature for stashing away precious things, Baby Hippo can hide in there too.

The Crayola Hippo Baby and Me kit is suitable for kids aged four years and older and will be delivered to your home for a mere 99 pence; you can pay with PayPal too if you want to.

Crayola Winnie the Pooh Fun Roll Set £2 @ The Toy Shop

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 5 October, 2011 at 10:00 am

Crayola Winnie the Pooh Fun Roll Set £2 @ The Toy ShopThis Crayola Winnie the Pooh fun roll set is just the sort of thing I would have loved as a child - in fact, it's just the sort of thing I'd still love to colour in now!

The Toy Shop have reduced its price down to £2 from £8, which makes it a rather nice little bargain.

Two two meter rolls and four marker pens make up this Crayola Winnie the Pooh Fun Roll set.

Both of them are feature everyone's favourite Winnie the Pooh characters who appear in fun pictures and activities that are perfect for your toddler, or you, to colour in.

You can separate each picture by tearing it off the role and hang them on the wall, or frame them, OR you can unroll the entire roll to reveal a rather fabulous height chart - I do love height charts - and let  your child colour in the pictures and mark off their height as they grow!

The Crayola Winnie the Pooh Fun Rolls are suitable for little ones aged two year or older.

Home delivery will cost you £3.95, unless you're ordering other bits and pieces which takes your total over £30, or you can collect your Crayola Winnie the Pooh fun rolls for free from your local Toy Shop.

Crayola Half Length Pencils 80p @ Amazon

Crayola Half Length Pencils are reduced by 37% at Amazon right now, selling at 80p per pack – including postage (which must be worth almost that!) instead of £1.26.

I am soooooooo annoyed by this deal, since I went out today and bought ten packs of these a £1.15 each to pop in the party bags for my daughter’s birthday party next month, then came home to see this deal. If I can find the receipt in my wallet,  may just return them now!

The Crayola Half Length Coloured Pencils pack contains 12 pencils, which apparently have strong lead and are made from high quality smooth grained wood for easy sharpening and less breakage.

Each pack comes with colours such as red, red-orange, orange, yellow-orange, peach, yellow, golden yellow, jade, green, yellow green, aqua-green, light blue, sky blue, blue, violet, pink, magenta, mahogany, tan, light brown, brown, grey, black and white – or at least an assortment of these, making up a pack of twelve.

The camera has a large LCD viewing screen on the back and photos will be a standard 640px x 480px in size.

Crayola Rainbow Rake £3.99 @ Home Bargains

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 11 August, 2011 at 12:00 pm

Crayola Rainbow Rake £3.99 @ Home BargainsHome Bargains are selling this Crayola Rainbow Rake for £3.99 instead of the £12.99 rrp.

This is the sort of thing I would have loved as a kid!

I have warm and fuzzy distant memories of drawing on our driveway with my little coloured chalks that came with my blackboard easel; I'd draw pictures, hopscotch grids, racetracks and road ways to drive cars around in - they were fun and innocent times.

Things have moved on a bit since then but I'm sure the fun of drawing outside has remained the same, there just seems to be 'something' about having a GIANT canvas, that's not paper, to draw on.

This Crayola Rainbow Rake looks rather fab' to me; it's not very technical, so it won't take me long to tell you about it.

Basically, it's a rake that will hold various different coloured outdoor chalks and crayons; when you drag it along the ground you can create colourful pictures or write giant messages.

When you're done you simply wash away your artistic creations with water or, I suppose, you could just wait for it to rain.  Judging by the weather forecast for most of the country today, you wouldn't have to wait very long.

And that's really all there is to it; good old-fashioned outdoor summer fun with no batteries required.

Crayola Paper Fantastic £10.50 @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 15 March, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Crayola Paper Fantastic £10.50 @ Amazon

Crayola Paper Fantastic for making honeycomb paper effects is on sale at Amazon for £10.50, 38% off from £16.99. These are currently £15.30 at Boots excluding postage, and £14.97 at Toys R Us, also excluding postage.

You can create fun honeycomb paper effects with the Crayola Paper Fantastic. The Paper Fantastic unit makes creating these complicated effects simple. Amazon says that the unit “adjusts every time you add a new piece of tissue paper so you know exactly where to glue” thereby reducing mess too.

With the 60 sheets of paper, 10 designs and 3 PipSqeak skinnes and glue it is supplied with, you can create garlands, 3D paper decorations, cards and pretty much anything else you can image.

One of the reviewers on Amazon was really impressed at being able to make Christmas bells and garlands with ease. She did say that you had to read the instructions quite carefully, but the results are “wonderful, and with a bit of practice you can make all kinds of fun decorations.”

Two of the three reviewers loved it and would recommend it to others, although young children will need help – it's aimed at 4 years and up – but the third reviewer found the paper to be very thin and the glue to not stick.

So, I guess if you get one that doesn't stick, send it back for one that does – the others seem to love it.

Friendship Bracelets £2.33 @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 12 March, 2011 at 3:00 pm

.Friendship Bracelets £2.33 @ AmazonFriendship Bracelets from Crayola Project Kits are on sale at Amazon for £2.33, a healthy 52% off the usual £4.88.

I'm a sucker for anything crafty or anything that gets children creating. So this little project kit seems like a bit of fun for an hour or so, at a very good price.

The kit comes with 80 different beads so you can create a few different bracelets (there are 40 pony beads and 40 star and heart beads), foam flower shapes and over 16 meters of ribbons and braiding threads. It also includes elastic and a comprehensive instruction leaflet should imagination start to dwindle.

Amazon reviews for the Friendship Bracelets are mixed with some feeling that it was too fiddly for children, and others saying that it kept the children busy for hours.

Because of small parts and somewhat fiddly assembly it is not for children under 6 years, although most reviewers used it with their little ones as young as five.

Crayola Paper Fantastic £12.76 @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 27 February, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Crayola Paper Fantastic £12.76 @ Amazon

Create amazing honeycomb paper effects, such as 3D paper decorations, beautiful garlands, cards and more with Paper Fantastic from Amazon at £12.76, a 25% discount.

My 90-year old great-grandmother still had paper decorations in her house every Christmas, a remnant of the nursery school she ran for 40-something years. These reminded me a lot of the ones in her house.

Says an Amazon reviewer, “I never would have thought it possible to make the kind of honeycomb paper that's used for Christmas bells and garlands, but this is a clever device that helps you do it.”

According to the same reviewer, “You have to read the instructions quite carefully, but the results are wonderful, and with a bit of practice you can make all kinds of fun decorations.”

These aren't really for children though, or at least require a good amount of adult supervision. A mum who made decorations with her daughter, says: “We... found the mechanism brilliant. An otherwise difficult activity to do well was made incredibly easy and the finished results were colourful and professional looking. A great product and I recommend it to everyone.”

It sounds like a good afternoon's entertainment to me!

Crayola Bug Rocks £2.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 15 February, 2011 at 11:00 am

Crayola Bug Rocks £2.99 @ AmazonAmazon have whipped 39% off the price of this cute Crayola Bug Rocks set and are selling it for £2.99, rather than £4.88 (<--- some of their original prices are so random, why not just make it £4.99 or a straight fiver?)

I have a real soft spot for little projects like this Crayola Bug Rocks set.

With half-term looming already - not sure how that's possible as my little and not-so-little 'cherubs' have only just gone back to school after Christmas! - something like Crayola Bug Rocks will make for a fun and inexpensive way to kill an afternoon.

Let's face it, this half-term isn't at the best time of year for being able to throw them (the kids that is) outside in the garden to play for hours on end, so messing around with Crayola Bug Rocks, creating some cute little bug dudes, is a great indoor half-term boredom solution.

The concept is very simple -  colour in the rocks, add the body parts, stick on the finer details and then play with your new creepy crawly friends.

The Crayola Bug Rocks set also comes with a game and some groovy bug glasses to make and wear; awesome for £2.99 I reckon and if you order now with the SuperSaver delivery it should arrive in plenty of time for half-term

14 Crayola Mini Marker Pens £1.74 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 23 October, 2010 at 8:00 am

14 Crayola Mini Marker Pens £1.74 @ Amazon

When you have kids in the house you can never have too many pens, pencils or crayons - Amazon have a nice little deal on Crayola mini marker pens at the moment.

A boy called Vincent in my junior school class borrowed my pens one day, when he gave them back he'd trashed all the nibs!!!

They'd either been pushed in OR looked like they'd exploded into a little mass of hairy fuzziness; I remember being very upset.

Little kids can be even rougher with colouring pens but fear NOT intrepid arty parents, because these Crayola Pip-Squeak  mini maker pens are built to withstand life with toddlers aged over three.

They have crush resistant nibs and, with 14 pens in a pack, come in enough colours to draw pictures in all colours of TWO rainbows.

The ink is washable so there's going to be no real damage done if your little Picasso accidentally draws on their clothes.

The Crayola Pip-Squeak mini markers are big and chunky too; ideal for little pip-squeak hands to get to drips with and small enough to keep in your bag for entertainment on the go.

Crayola Pip-Squeak mini markers normally retail for £3.49 but Amazon are letting them go just now for £1.74.

Crayola Beginnings Colour Me a Song £7.49 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 27 May, 2010 at 8:00 am

Crayola Beginnings Colour Me a Song £7.49 @ AmazonA drawing maestro please!

I suppose this could be classed as a multi-tasking toy and I have to say I really quite like the look of it.

The concept is simple - your little one can be Beethoven and Picasso all rolled into one and 'compose' original music with their drawings as the music changes and reacts to the speed of their drawing and depending on the instruments they've chosen.

It plays four songs, there are different big band backing beats and four instrument buttons can be pressed to add more depth and create some funky music, and it also has a volume control buttong - great news for us parents!

It comes with eight triangular crayons - reviewers have said that this triangular shape makes the crayons super-easy for little hands to hold - and there's a built-in drawer that holds up to 16 of them.

Crayola Beginnings Colour Me a Song £7.49 @ AmazonWhat else does it come with?  A super price reduction from £19.99 to £7.49, 3 AA batteries, 3 sheets of paper (which is a bit stingy if you ask me, but I guess we can't have everything) and of course free delivery with the fabo Amazon supersaver deal.

Happy scribbling!
