So there you have it. You have a saving of £8.49 on top of four free Chuggington books. Excellent. If you have the Points Passport you’ll get 20 Book Points.  The books are aimed at the 3+ age group, and each story has 34 pages. When you pop the Thomas books in your basket, Chuggington - valued at £4.99 - is automatically added to it, so you don't even have to do anything.

I’m not sure about the RRP on this being £195. Has anyone actually paid that for a set of Thomas and Friends books?  I’m not convinced, but 82% off sure sounds impressive.

After tonight the price goes up to £35, which is still good for more than two month’s worth of bed time stories!

Die-Cast And Interactive Chuggington Trains BOGOF @ Toys R Us

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 19 February, 2012 at 7:00 pm

Die-Cast And Interactive Chuggington Trains BOGOF @ Toys R Us

Toys R Us have a BOGOF offer on Chuggington Die-Cast and Interactive trains until the 26th of February with pieces ranging from £5.97 to £9.97 each. You just choose the two you want and the lowest priced item will automatically be zero’d in your basket.

I’m loathed to have seen this pretty fab deal, because I’m going to spend the rest of the day going ‘Chugga-chugga-chugga-chugga-chuggington’ in my head and it will eventually enter my dreams! The Chuggers are pretty sweet, but argh! Earworm. Lovely.

Anyway, we’re here now, so you may as well know, a lot of them are out of stock for home delivery, but they’re all available from Click and Collect.  Some of the Chuggers, like Puffer Pete are also on sale – Pete has 50p off.

The only problem I have with these is that I can’t figure out how big they are, there’s no scale and no size information available! The interactive ones talk, and greet other Chuggers – i.e. Brewster has up to 80 phrases when he’s around the entire rest of the crew.

They’re pretty nice looking and those that have been rated and reviewed have positive feedback from parents and children alike!

Chuggington Wilson Ride-On Toy £11.24 @ Wilkinsons

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 20 December, 2011 at 12:00 pm

Chuggington Wilson Ride-On Toy £11.24 @ WilkinsonsIf you have a young Chuggington fan in your family then you might want to take a look at this Chuggington Wilson ride-on toy; Wilkinsons are selling it for £11.24 instead of £14.99.

Your little Chugger will need to be under three years old and/or weigh less than 20kgs which is, actually, quite a lot of weight - it's only just under half of what I weigh, give or take five kgs!

Wilson ride-on comes with working horn and storage compartment which I can guarantee is where you'll find anything that goes missing over Christmas; my youngest son had a similar ride-on toy to this and he absolutely LOVED putting things in there, the thing is he was never very good at taking them out again and putting them back!

I don't know what it is about ride-on toys but all kids gravitate towards them and you can have a devil of a job trying to prise them off them when it's time to go and do something else.

If you want this in time for Christmas then you need to order your Chuggington Wilson ride-on either today or tomorrow - orders placed today will be delivered on Thursday and orders made tomorrow will be delivered on Friday, after that you'll be waiting until Monday 3 January 2012.

Oh, by the way, I know the price on the Wilkos website says £14.99, all the discounts will be applied automatically when you check out.

Chuggington Chugger Championship Series Deluxe Playset £23.99 @ Argos

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 26 November, 2011 at 11:00 am

Chuggington Chugger Championship Series Deluxe Playset £23.99 @ Argos

Chuggington Chugger Championship Series Deluxe Playsets are on offer at Argos right now for £23.99 instead of £47.99, a fantastic 50% off. You can reserve and collect free of charge, but home delivery is a painful £5.95.

This looks like a really fab set, and according to the review it is – as much as you can trust a panel of one.  It has five stars, and she’d recommend it to a friend.

The Chugger Championship is a child-powered crank launcher playset, so it doesn’t require batteries or electricity, which makes a nice change.  You can race engines separately or connect them to race longer trains.

A trophy pops up in the end to show the winner.

They reckon it’ll help a child’s motor skills and hand to eye co-ordination and creativity… and I’d guess imagination too.

Colours and styles may vary from those in the picture, and the set weighs over 2kg, so it’s quite a bulky gift.  In size it’s 35cm high, 60cm wide and 13cm deep.

Argos recommend this set for children over 3.

Chuggington DVD And Mini Book Gift Set £9.95 @ The Hut

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 2 November, 2011 at 11:00 am

Chuggington DVD And Mini Book Gift Set £9.95 @ The HutMy youngest was a big Chuggington fan until he got 'too grown up for it' (he's all of five and a half!) but he would have loved this Chuggington Gift Set with its Chuggington DVD and six mini books.

The usual price for this Chuggington gift set is £14.99; The Hut have reduced it down to £9.95 so I imagine, with Christmas coming up and all that, it'll 'ride the rails' off the shelves pretty sharpish.

There are six chugtastic Chuggington episodes on the DVD and each one is accompanied by the corresponding mini book which, by the way, make up a six-piece jigsaw puzzle when you turn them over.

The six episodes featured on the DVD are:

  • Training Time Harrison
  • Wilson Gets a Wash
  • Koko and the Tunnels
  • Watch Out Wilson
  • Wilson's Smooth Moves
  • Eddie Finds Time

And they all come presented in a rather nice box, I guess that's so they can call it a gift set! There's no delivery to pay on UK mainland orders with The Hut, so £9.95 is all you're going to pay...unless, of course, you find something else that takes your fancy whilst you're there.

Chuggington Training Yard with Loop Playset Toy £21.62 @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 19 September, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Chuggington Training Yard with Loop Playset Toy £21.62 @ AmazonThere’s a fab 52% off the Chuggington Training Yard with Loop Playset Toy at Amazon, taking a rather pricey £44.99 toy down to a much more affordable £21.62.

The Chuggington Training Yard is an open ended play system that features the  key destination from the popular TV series.  It features lights and sounds for an exciting play experience.  The set includes a diecast engine with an Easy Coupling System to connect and play to ensure the engines never detach from each other. There’s also a motorised launcher to propel up to three engines through the loop.

Included in the set are eight track pieces, but you can add a Chuggington’s track pack to create a larger layout, but this you have to buy separately.  For setting the scene there’s also signal pieces and mail bags.

Reviews are mixed with some people loving  it and some not so much, with the major complaint being that it is way too noisy.

Chuggington Rattling Rivets DVD Plus Limited Edition Die-cast Figure £4.99 @ HMV

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 13 September, 2011 at 10:00 am

Chuggington Rattling Rivets DVD Plus Limited Edition Die-cast Figure £4.99 @ HMVHMV, and Amazon too, are selling this Chuggington Rattling Rivets DVD - complete with limited edition die-cast figure - for £4.99.

Now, I've just had a quick nosey around and discovered that the BBC shop are selling this DVD WITHOUT the die-cast figure for £5.75 instead of the £8.19 rrp.

And, bizarrely, Amazon are selling the non figure version for £4.99 as well; why would you buy the version that doesn't have the Limited Edition Old Puffer Pete Die-Cast Train, when you can spend the same money and have him included?

Anyway, there are six episodes for your little Chuggington fan to watch over and over and over

  • Rock-a-Bye Chatsworth
  • Old Puffer Pete’s Firebox
  • Poor Old Puffer Pete
  • Brewster Knows Best
  • Bubbly Olwin
  • Koko’s Puppy Training

You'll have to be a little bit patient though as the release date for this Chuggington Rattling Rivets DVD is 19 September.

Chuggington Wilson Ride-On £12.74 @ Mothercare

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 5 August, 2011 at 11:00 am

Chuggington Wilson Ride-On £12.74 @ MothercareCalling all Chuggington fans!!

You can pick up a Chuggington Wilson ride-on toy from Mothercare for just £12.74 instead of £35.00 at the moment.

I don't know what it is about ride-on toys, but all kids seem to love them!

This Chuggington Wilson ride-on has to be my deal of the day - you really can't go wrong with him for £12.74.

The published price on the website is £14.99; enter code S4PN at the checkout and a further 15% will be deducted bringing it down to £12.74.

Ride-on Wilson has a squeaky horn and the seat lifts up to reveal 'hidden' storage - this is where you should look first when you can't find something after you've bought one, my youngest used to stash all sorts of things in his Fireman Sam ride-on!

You'll need to do a tiny bit of self-assembly on Wilson, just fitting his wheels and steering wheel; he's suitable for little riders aged 12 months or older and who weigh less than 25kgs.

I think he's super awesome and will make any young Chuggington fan very happy.

50% Off Chuggington And Thomas Toys @ The Toy Shop

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 6 July, 2011 at 11:00 am

50% Off Chuggington And Thomas Toys @ The Toy ShopCalling all Chuggington and Thomas the Tank Engine fans!!!

The Toy Shop/The Entertainer have taken 50% off  Chuggington and Thomas toys, there are some rather lovely bargains to be had on large sets or single items.

Ahhh long gone are the days of Thomas and Chuggington for me, so you can have these deals all to yourself.

My eldest son - now almost 17 - used to love Thomas as did my youngest son, but both of them are a bit old for him now.

Chuggington has gone the same way too; my youngest gave everyone in the family Chuggington names - he was Wilson, my eldest was Brewster and my daughter was KoKo, it really was far too cute.

To list all the items included in the Chuggington and Thomas the Tank Engine 50% off sale would take forever but I will tell you that the big Chuggington Interactive All Round Chuggington set is now £30 instead of £59.99, and the Thomas 'Racing Down the Rails' wooden set is £35 instead of £75.

Thomas and Chuggington toys always tend to sell out fast, I just thought I'd warn you, and delivery is free if you spend over £30.

40% Off Chuggington Toys @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 4 December, 2010 at 12:00 pm

40% Off Chuggington Toys @ AmazonIf you have a little Chuggington fan in your family then you need to chug over to Amazon - they're currently offering 40% off Chuggington Toys.

All of my family fell in love with Chuggington when it first hit the TV screens - my youngest gave everyone character names: he was Wilson, my eldest was Brewster and my daughter was KoKo, it really was far too cute actually.

If you're not familiar with Chuggington, here's a quick Chuggington 101.

Wilson, Brewster and KoKo are trainee locomotive engines (Chuggers) who live in the town of Chuggington and they get up to all sorts of mischief and adventures, whilst learning important life lessons along the way (of course!).

Wilson is the youngest and can be a bit over-enthusiastic sometimes, Brewster is the sensible one and KoKo is outgoing and daring.

There are lots and lots of different Chuggington bits and pieces up for grabs at Amazon; far too much to list individually here.

But if you were looking for lots of things that come as a complete set then you really should consider this Interactive All Around Chuggington Set.

Here's the low down from Amazon

(by the way - Vee is the voice that comes over the loudspeaker in Chuggington and tells everyone where they need to go and what they should be doing)

  • Vee in the All Around Chuggington feature playset tracks and directs play
  • Vee recognises Chuggington interactive engines and gives them specific jobs and rewards
  • Includes interactive Wilson, Roundhouse with Vee, tunnel, crane, bridge and 39 pieces of track
  • Wilson recognises and greets each training stop and any added engines

This is now £36 instead of £59.99 and a bit of a bargain - it's very battery heavy though, you'll need 11 (yep, that's right) AA batteries to run everything.

Shares in Duracell anyone?

Chuggington Top Trumps £2.99 @ Play

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 22 September, 2010 at 11:00 am

Chuggington Top Trumps £2.99 @ PlayWhat do you get if you combine Chuggington with Top Trumps?  Top Trumps Chuggington Activity Collection and WHOLE lot of fun, that's what!

The Teenagers were HUGE Top Trumps fans when they were younger.

They were always a great Christmas stocking filler and many a Christmas day evening was spent playing the various version that we had: Harry Pottter, Top Gear if there was a Top Trumps of it you can guarantee we've played it!

It's such a clever concept and cunningly disguises learning - reading, numbers, memory and observation - with some pretty fierce card collecting competition.

Portable, easy to play, doesn't require batteries, has no buzzy sounds or flashing lights - Top Trumps is ACE; I rather fancy a game now, I wonder if there are still any packs of them lurking in the dark depths of a drawer somewhere!

And Chuggington Top Trumps is an fantastic way to introduce younger kids to this great game.

There are five games and activities to enjoy with this Top Trumps Chuggington Activity Collection

Chuggington Top Trumps is just £2.99 at Play.com and there's no delivery to pay on UK orders. Top that!

12% off Chuggington Diecast Toys @ TakeAlongToys.co.uk

12% off Chuggington Diecast Toys @ TakeAlongToys.co.uk"Let's RIIIIIDE the rails!!"

Now at first glance 12% might not seem like a lot of discount, but trust me if you end up buying the whole collection of these Chuggington diecast toys then you're going to be glad of all the pennies off you can get your hands on!  Most of the engines in the collection are £5.24 instead of £5.95 although some of the bigger ones are £7.87 (full price £8.95).

My kids fell in love with Chuggington - yep all of them, even the teenagers.  My youngest assigned everyone a Chuggington name (he did this with the Waybuloo characters too!) he was Brewster, my eldest was Wilson and my daughter was KoKo!

12% off Chuggington Diecast Toys @ TakeAlongToys.co.ukIf you're unfamiliar with Chuggington then here's a quick lesson:  Chuggington is a place inhabited by trains and the young engines, or 'Chuggers' as they're called, go to school to learn how to be proper working trains.  The young Chuggers get up to all sorts of mischief and will have learned valuable lessons by the end of each episode.

There are lots of other characters that make up the enchanting world of Chuggington and these toys have been long waited for so they're flyin goff the virtual shelves pretty sharpish - so if your child's favourite Chugger is available then I wouldn't procrastinate too long; although, TakeAlongToys are saying that they have new stock arriving daily.  HURRAH!

Postage to the UK mainland is a standard £1.95 per order by the way.
