Toy Story Zipperobe £19.99 @ Big Red Warehouse

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 28 March, 2012 at 9:00 am

Toy Story Zipperobe £19.99 @ Big Red WarehouseThe folks over at Big Red Warehouse are 'giving away' these Toy Story Zipperobe wardrobes for £19.99, rather than their full price of £49.99.

If you've got a young Toy Story fan in your family, and you're in need of some extra clothing storage for them, then you might just want to take a look at this Toy Story zipperobe - I think it's a daft name for a kid's wardrobre that has a material cover and zips up the front, but that's just my opinion.

I don't know about you but when my kids were younger, their clothes seemed to multiply faster than anything known to man! I'm not quite sure how this happened, but I always seemed to be running out of storage space for all their outfits.

This Toy Story Zipperobe has a full front zip opening, the material is wipe clean (very good idea) and comes flat packed - the good new is you don't need any tools (apparently) to put it together.  It measures 160H x 90W x 50Dcm and is suitable for young Space Rangers or cowboys aged three years and over.

Happy zipperobing!

Dora The Explorer School Desk £19.99 @ Mail Order Express

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 24 February, 2012 at 9:00 am

Dora The Explorer School Desk £19.99 @ Mail Order ExpressMail Order Express are selling this rather cool Dora the Explorer school desk for £19.99, rather the its usual price of £49.99.

When I say Dora the Explorer school desk don't picture the desks we used to have at school, with the lift up lid, rather imagine the chairs with the table 'extension' on one arm that American schools have (at least the ones in the movies do!).

I think this is a rather fabulous little product - a chair and a desk all in one that will, I'm sure, get plenty of use as you don't just have to use it as a 'school desk'

Your young Dora fan will thoroughly enjoy sitting at their Dora the Explorer school desk to draw, practise their writing and read books; you could also put a little something on the table top to act as a mini table cloth and they could sit at their desk to eat snacks etc.

There's a drawer underneath the seat for storage which, I have no doubt, will be appreciated - you can never have too much storage and wasted space is heartbreaking.

You'll check out from Mail Order Express with your Amazon account and delivery will cost you and additional £2.99 - there is a 10% discount code floating around, SALE 2012, but I've tried to use it and it's coming up as invalid.

I did, however, get it to work a couple of days ago so it's either just a temporary glitch or it's expired - either way, give it a go before you pay for your Dora the Explorer school desk.

Child's Bookcase £14.99 @ Argos

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 23 February, 2012 at 10:00 am

Child's Bookcase £14.99 @ ArgosArgos are selling this rather lovely child's bookcase for less than half price - it was £39.99 but has been reduced down to £14.99.

If your children are anything like my children then there will be enough books in your house to rival your local library. From the moment they were all born, in fact from before they were born, their book collections have been regularly added to.

My teenagers invariably ask for Amazon vouchers for their birthdays and, nine times out of ten, they buy books with them.

My youngest son, at just five-and-a-half, has an astonishing number of books for one so young and he loves them all.  The problem with all of his books is where to put them all so he can grab the ones he wants to look at.

This child's bookcase would be just the thing for storing his current 'most favourite' books - it measures 74(h) x 63(w) x 23.5(d) and has soft fabric sling 'shelves'.

The fabric sling shelves are a neutral colour and the wooden frame is beech effect, making it ideal for both boys and girls; hurrah, no pink flowers or blue car patterns here!

The child's bookcase is available for both in-store collection, which is free, or home delivery which will cost you an additional £5.95.

Children’s Bentwood Chairs £5.99- £6.99 @ Argos

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 4 October, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Children’s Bentwood Chairs £5.99- £6.99 @ ArgosArgos has a half price and less than half price sale on it’s Children’s Bentwood Chairs with the Tiger having £8 off and now  selling at £5.99 and the Frog chair being reduced by £7 to £6.99.

When we moved into our new house in the Spring I really wanted to buy a mixture of these chairs for my daughters playroom. I didn’t at the time because, lovely as they are, I thought they were just to expensive to justify, what with a house move and all.

Now they’re reduced quite dramatically, I’m so tempted again, but must confess that the playroom is in desperate need of a bit of a clear out and I’m less certain that it’s something she needs – so we’ve probably missed that boat!

Anyway, these are, as the title shows, Bentwood seats, and are somehow flat packed for home assembly, but should be easy enough for one person to put together.  The chairs are 56.5 cm high, and 32 cm wide, so perfect for little ones, and they weigh 1.7kg, which is great as children will be able to move them around but they shouldn’t randomly topple over.

They aren’t available for home delivery, so you’ll need to collect from your local store.

Thomas And Friends Children’s Metal Folding Chair £3.99 @ Argos Ebay

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 22 September, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Thomas And Friends Children’s Metal Folding Chair £3.99 @ Argos Ebay

Argos Ebay have a Thomas And Friends Children’s Metal Folding Chair on offer for £3.99. Add 99p for delivery and overall you’re paying £4.98.

We actually own the Peppa Pig version of this chair, and while it’s a little like Martin’s chair in Frasier’s lounge, (it sticks out like a sore thumb and doesn’t match with anything else, in case you’ve never watched Frasier) it is a total hit with our little girl.

It’s ‘her’ chair and she sits on it whenever she is in the lounge. We paid a bit more than £4.98 for our, but it’s been totally worth it.

The Thomas and Friends version has a Thomas logo in it, and a tubular steel frame. The chair bit is fabric, but it’s pretty strong and can handle up to 50kg of weigh – although you’d have to have pretty miniscule hips as it’s only 38cm in width.

This is not an adult sized chair. It is only 53cm in height, so it’s easy for a child to get on to and off of. It’s also one of those ‘funny’ ones as they say it’s suitable for children three years and over, but my daughter has adored hers since she was 18 months old!

Waybuloo Desk and Stool £9.99 @ Mail Order Express

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 20 July, 2011 at 9:00 am

Waybuloo Desk and Stool £9.99 @ Mail Order ExpressThe last time I wrote about this Waybuloo desk and stool it had been reduced by Amazon from £49.99 down to £9.99; I thought it was a great deal then and I think it's a great deal now, this time up for grabs for £9.99 from Mail Order Express.

I can't find anything bad to say about this Waybuloo desk and stool and at £9.99 I can't imagine it's going to stay in stock for very long at all.

Waybuloo was a massive hit with kids right across the country when it first aired on cBeebies a few years ago; I watched the first one with my youngest and it became a firm favourite very quickly.

He gave everyone Waybuloo names and would only refer to everyone by them - my eldest was Nok Tok, my daughter was Lau Lau and he was Yo Jo Jo.

Kids love to have their own special furniture – like this Waybuloo desk and chair – and aside from anything else it’s much safer for them to be sitting on a chair or stool that ‘fits’ them, rather than kneeling precariously at a big table because they’re too small to reach otherwise.

The Waybuloo desk and stool is printed with all sorts of everything Waybuloo – if your child’s bedroom is already decorated with other Waybuloo bits and pieces then it’ll fit right in.  If not, then it will make a nice feature item and take pride of place I’m sure.

Delivery is free until midnight tomorrow (Thursday 21 July) if you enter this code at the checkout: FREE2011

Peppa Pig Chair £11.24 @ Sainsburys

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 28 May, 2011 at 9:00 am

Peppa Pig Chair £11.24 @ SainsburysOooh I do love most things Peppa Pig and Sainsbury's are selling this Peppa Pig chair with a 25% discount; £11.24 instead of £3.75.

This is a cute little chair that's guaranteed to get a lot of use this summer, that's assuming the sunshine and warm temperatures decide to put in another, and prolonged, appearance again this year (the weather in my little bit of the country is ruuuubbish again today!).

In the traditional deck chair style, this Peppa Pig chair features a warm and sunny picture of Peppa enjoying herself at the beach .

It has a tubular steel, powder coated frame which, according to the official information, makes it sturdy.

It's suitable for young Peppa fans aged between three and six years old, or a maximum weight of 50kgs...just in case you're tempted to sit on it too.

There is also official advice that comes with this Peppa Pig chair and that's to periodically check it for loose parts.  I'm not sure WHICH parts might loosen off over time, it's not as if it has that many of them; I'm just passing on the message.

The 25% discount price on this Peppa Pig chair is valid until 7 June.

OINK!

Sand Pit And Picnic Table £64.75 @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 3 May, 2011 at 7:00 pm

Sand Pit And Picnic Table £64.75 @ Amazon

There’s 35% off this dual purpose sand and picnic table at Amazon at the moment, making it £64.75 instead of £99.99. Ideal if you have a small garden and need to get best use out of each bit of space.

We’re about to move into a new house – a little something with a garden – and I cannot wait. It also has a conservatory, which makes me feel a little like I’m my gran every time I say the word ‘conservatory’ for some reason, but it has already been earmarked as my daughter’s playroom, so that our lounge is acceptable for visitors and doesn’t look like a whirlwind has been through it.  I’ve been on the lookout for furniture for the conservatory since we don’t really have anything suitable for the child’s paradise I hope it will become, and this little table seems pretty fit for purpose.

It is also suitable for outdoor use, and is convertible as either a table or a raised sand pit – I’d like to say that should reduce mess, but somehow I doubt it! For indoor use, I’d definitely use that area to store art and craft materials, methinks!

This table is made from FSC certified timber and has rounded corners for safety. It is supplied flat packed with easy assembly instructions.  Assembled it is L1.21 x W0.89 x H0.50m and sand isn’t included.

Waybuloo Desk And Stool £9.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 11 April, 2011 at 10:00 am

Waybuloo Desk And Stool £9.99 @ AmazonThis Waybuloo Desk and Stool definitely has to be my deal of the day - it's been reduced from £49.99 right the way down to just £9.99.

I've yet to come across a young child who doesn't love Waybuloo and have a favourite Pipling character.  If you've not seen Waybuloo before then I'm not sure where you've been for the last two, or so, years since it first graced our TV screens, but you should watch it at least once.

Kids love to have their own special furniture - like this Waybuloo desk and chair - and aside from anything else it's much safer for them to be sitting on a chair or stool that 'fits' them, rather than kneeling precariously at a big table because they're too small to reach otherwise.

The Waybuloo desk and stool is printed with all sorts of everything Waybuloo – if your child's bedroom is already decorated with other Waybuloo bits and pieces then it’ll fit right in.  If not, then it will make a nice feature item and take pride of place I’m sure.

The price for this Waybuloo desk and stool is SO good that I can't imagine it's going to stay in stock for very long.

Thomas Desk And Stool £19.99 @ Mail Order Express

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 15 March, 2011 at 8:00 am

Thomas Desk And Stool £19.99 @ Mail Order ExpressIf you have a hard core Thomas and Friends fan in your family then this Thomas desk and stool is likely to have them jumping up and down with delight.

So your little Thomas fan is beside themselves with joy and your bank balance is rather happy too as Mail Order Express have reduced this Thomas desk and stool by £50, bringing the price right down from £69.99 to just £19.99; delivery will cost you an additional £2.99 which I don't think is too bad.

You really can't far wrong with anything Thomas the Tank Engine if you want to make a little Thomas fan happy; this Thomas desk and stool will give them somewhere to sit in their bedrooms (or wherever you choose to put it of course) and draw or create arty-crafty projects for hours on end.

The Thomas desk and stool is printed with all sorts of everything Thomas the Tank Engine - if they have a room already decorated with other Thomas bits and pieces then it'll fit right in.  If not, then it will make a nice feature item and take pride of place I'm sure.

It has a large drawing and play area, a pull out tray for even more space and somewhere for your youngster to put their creations and accessories.

My youngest is 'over' Thomas now but he would have LOVED to have this Thomas desk and stool a couple of years ago.

Bob The Builder 'Scoop' Inflatable Chair £3.99 @ Play

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 8 February, 2011 at 11:00 am

Bob The Builder 'Scoop' Inflatable Chair £3.99 @ PlayPlay are selling this Bob the Builder 'Scoop' Inflatable Chair for just £3.99. The rrp is £12.99 and it's being sold on Amazon for £16.99.

My youngest loved Bob the Builder and used to call him ‘Bobber’ when he really little and couldn’t get his tongue around his full name.

Where does the time go?! My youngest started school last Septemeber and my eldest, who was also a Bob the Builder fan (I forget that ‘Bobber’ has been around for a long time!), leaves school in just 16 weeks time.

I’m much more of an 'older child' parent, but I miss the really cute things like not being able to say Bob the Builder properly *sigh*

Scoop was a very firm favourite in our household - particularly with my youngest as he's a fan of all things digger and JCB - so he would have utterly LOVED this Scoop inflatable chair.

It's straightforward and simple to use - you blow it up and your child sits on it *grin* Well come on! How many things can you say about an inflatable chair?

There's no delivery to pay on items ordered from Play for delivery within the UK, so £3.99 is all you'll be parting with for this Bob the Builder 'Scoop' Inflatable Chair.

Peppa Pig Toddler Bed £63.50 @ Tesco Direct

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 7 February, 2011 at 11:00 am

Peppa Pig Toddler Bed £63.50 @ Tesco DirectTesco Direct are selling this Peppa Pig Toddler Bed for £63.50 instead of £150 - not quite half-price, but close enough to make it a great deal I think.

I was (and still am) a bit of a grouch when it comes to character bedroom furniture; all of my children went straight from their cot to a normal bed but I'm pretty sure that, given the chance, they'd have LOVED a bed that featured their favourite character.

I don’t know any self-respecting little Peppa Pig fan who wouldn’t love to leap into a Peppa Pig Toddler Bed, which could come in very handy when they've decided that sleep is for wimps and they're NOT. TIRED!

You're going to have to put your DIY hat on if you buy this Peppa Pig Toddler Bed as it's self-assembly.  The headboard and  footboard are printed with fun Peppa Pig scenes and there are two underbed storage drawers too.

It comes with everything you need to put it together but it does NOT come with a mattress; the mattress size you'll need for your Peppa Pig Toddler Bed is: 70 x 140cm

The reviews are great and someone will need to be in to sign for it on delivery.

Silver Cross Doodle Play Chair £10 @ Silver Cross

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 27 January, 2011 at 9:00 am

Silver Cross Doodle Play Chair £10 @ Silver CrossSilver Cross have taken £35 off the usual £45 price tag for their Silver Cross Doodle Play Chairs and are letting them go for £10.

I know that Silver Cross have a reputation for having expensive products - traditional Silver Cross prams require a small mortgage to be taken out to be able to afford them - but this Silver Cross Doodle Play Chair was, in my opinion, massively over-priced at its original £45.

Now £10 for one, is much more like it.

Children do like to have their own sized furniture and who can blame them, I think we all secretly want to have our own chair that's all ours and isn't sat on and lounged on by anyone else; my grandad had his own chair and ooooh we would be in 'big trouble' if we sat on it.

The Silver Cross Doodle Chair is only available at this price until stocks last, so if you fancy one make sure you order it asap - it would be terrible to miss out on such a great discount.

It's available in four different colours: apple, aqua, lilac and stone; it's wipe clean, it's sturdy and it's suitable for use indoors and outside in the garden.

Standard delivery is free too.

In The Night Garden Desk And Stool £19.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 26 January, 2011 at 9:00 am

In The Night Garden Desk And Stool £19.99 @ AmazonThis rather cute pink In The Night Garden desk and stool is currently being sold for £19.99 instead of £79.99.

It took me a g e s to get my head around In the Night Garden.  I just didn’t get it!

BRIGHT colours, broad daylight and crazy frenzied capers from Iggle Piggle, Upsey Daisy (they are SO girlfriend and boyfriend, I don’t care what anyone says!), Makka Pakka and the Tombliboos; rather than the dusky evening scenes and quiet bedtime stories, read by someone like Bernard Cribbins, that I was expecting.

If you’ve never experienced In the Night Garden before then you must! I feel it should be a 21st century parental right of passage!

It’s either been written by absolute geniuses whose cleverness with kids programming is THAT good that it goes right over my head, OR they are just completely bonkers – perhaps it’s a bit of both.

And just watch out for Amazon’s up and down price-shifting – that’s almost as bonkers as the Night Garden itself!

What can I tell you about this In The Night Garden desk and stool?  It's a desk that comes with a stool, that's pretty and pink and is decorated with In The Night Garden characters and scenes and all the reviews wax lyrical about it.

You need to put it together but its dead easy and your daughter will love it.

In The Night Garden Desk And Chair £19.99 @ Amazon

by Luschka van Onselen in Deals on 12 January, 2011 at 11:00 am

In The Night Garden Desk And Chair £19.99 @ Amazon

I'm not sure whether anyone ever actually paid the £79.99 RRP for this, but Amazon currently have it at £19.99, a massive £60.00 saving.

The desk and chair are suitable for ages 3 – 7, but one of the Amazon reviewers bought it and her two year old fits perfectly and loves it.

According to the reviews on Amazon, this In the Night Garden Desk and Chair is easy to assemble, with all the bits just slotting and then clipping in together, and requiring no tools.

The desk has a foot rest and a shelf with two pen pots, and is large enough for books. The chair is sturdy and there is also a foot rest.

The desk and chair together weigh 5kg, and shipping is an additional £19.99.

Amazon also has a similar Thomas and Friends desk and chair, which was £69.99 and is now £19.99 too.

Judging by the reviews, these seem to be good little drawing or homework desks.

Pintoy Wooden Stool £4.97 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 25 July, 2010 at 8:00 am

Pintoy Wooden Stool £4.97 @ Amazon*singing* W O O D  glorious w o o d! Not a whisper of plastic...

A quick google of Pintoy toys will reveal what a stonking price this is for a Pintoy wooden stool; usually retailing for between £17 and £20, £4.97 is an absolute bargain.

I hope you're an early bird rather than a doss-in-bed-on-a-sunday person as one of two things is likely to happen: 1) it'll zoom out of stock before you can click 'add to basket' or 2) those tricksy folks at Amazon will put the price up (they have a habit of doing that you know!).

There isn't a GREAT deal I can tell you about stools that you don't already know, but how about this - I bet you didn't know that the stool was 'invented' in 1749 by a Swiss woman named Maria Schitonstool (I kid you not!) who was addicted to gambling.

When times got tough and cold, because she'd lost all her money at the gambling table, she'd take to burning her furniture to keep the fires burning. Rather than burning entire chairs, she sawed the backs off and VIOLA! the stool as we know it today was born!

THERE! Bet you didn't know that about stools did you! No sawing required to make this one - just screwing the legs on to the bright green base as it comes flat-packed.

Everytime you see a stool now I bet you think of it's Swiss inventor, and if your child won't sit down you can say, in a dodgy Swiss accent, "Hey! Schit-on-stool!!" *grin*

Childrens 'Crayon' Table and Chair Set £14.74 @ Ryman

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 18 July, 2010 at 9:00 am

Childrens 'Crayon' Table and Chair Set £14.74 @ RymanIf you want a brightly coloured and fun indoor table and chairs set for your little angels, then this could be just the thing you've been looking for.

Normally brightly coloured things aren't my cup of tea, but due to the fun crayon feature table and chair legs the bright colours are most appropriate.

It's made of wood so isn't going to be suitable for outdoor use unless it's dry and you remember to bring it in if it even begins to look like it might rain, otherwise it's going to be ruined within one summer rain storm.

It's suitable for kiddies aged three years and over and could be used for all sorts of things - as a drawing/art table or a place to eat if your child is in that in between place where they feel they're too big for a high chair but just n-o-t quite big enough to be able to eat easily at the main family table.

The dimensions are as follows:

  • Table: H410mm x W595mm x D390mm
  • Chairs:  H510mm x W280mm x D280mm

Childrens 'Crayon' Table and Chair Set £14.74 @ RymanThis table and chair set was orginally £24.99, Ryman have reduced it to £19.99 and if you apply this promotion code - AFFRYMAN - a further £10 will come off the price.

However, £4.74 will then be added back on for next day delivery, but you DO get a free box of Mr Bunbury Chocolate Brownies so maybe that'll sweeten the deal back up again a little bit!

White Pine Crib £29.50 @ John Lewis

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 3 July, 2010 at 10:00 am

White Pine Crib £29.50 @ John LewisThis crib from John Lewis is a rather delicious deal to start the day with!

Not everyone wants to have a moses basket - I have a couple of friends who really couldn't stand them, they didn't like all the 'frills and faff'.

But if you don't want a moses basket and the thought of putting your tiny baby down to sleep in a HUGE cot bed from day one what are your other options?

This John Lewis Max Crib could be just the thing you're looking for! Measuring L93 x W47 x H79cm it's little enough not to to be too enormous for a newborn and big enough for them not to grow out of it in the blink of an eye.

Made of pine and painted white (the end panels are MDF), the design is simple and elegant and utterly perfect if you don't like 'frills and faff', and John Lewis have reduced it from £59.00 down to £29.50 so the price is pretty perfect too!

Standard delivery is £3, free if you arrange to collect from a John Lewis store OR if your order is over £30.  So you can either buy a mattress for your crib too to tip your order into the free delivery bracket or order something little - Zobobump over at HUKD suggested adding John Lewis Value White Tealights, Pack of 50 (Product code - 78781021), now that's PlayPennies thinking!

Thanks to Zobobump over at HUKD for spotting this deal

Childrens' Garden Bench £27.49 @ Tesco

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 12 May, 2010 at 10:00 am

Childrens' Garden Bench £27.49 @ TescoThe other day I posted a deal for a full-size picnic bench...well, now it's time for the Lilliput version with a Lilliput price as Tesco have reduced this from £54.99 to £27.49

Kids - they love having things for their own size, even more so if they look just like our grown-up things and this little wooden picnic table ticks those boxes.

Aside from pandering to little whims, furniture for your little kids is practical, sensible and just more civilised - there'll be no more trying to scrabble up on to a seat that's too high for them, no more trying to eat when your chin barely reaches the table and don't even get me started on trying to reach for drinks etc.

Childrens' Garden Bench £27.49 @ TescoCan you tell I've been here before!  My big kids adored their little picnic table when they were small - it allowed them to sit and eat with the grown-ups without having to ask for help.

Of course, they can sit and do other things at their little bench too, we used ours for sitting outside on warm summer days and doing drawings of things we could see in the garden.

You're going to have to get out your tools and put your self-assembly hat on but at least delivery for collection in-store is free and you'll get double clubcard points if you have one!

Thanks to Haylhoo over at HUKD!
