Charlie And Lola Complete DVD Collection £12.99 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 23 September, 2011 at 9:00 am

Charlie And Lola Complete DVD Collection £12.99 @ AmazonHurrah for Amazon and their fabulous price for this Charlie and Lola DVD collection; you can pick one up for £12.99 (until they put the price back up) instead of the £24ish that everyone else is selling it for.

Eleven Charlie and Lola DVDs make up this Absolutely Complete Box Set, so when it says ‘complete’ it means complete; 80 fabulous episodes were shown on cBeebies and now they're yours to keep and watch whenever you want.

If these Charlie and Lola DVDs were available when my youngest son was very into the brother and sister duo, I would absolutely and most definitely have bought them as there were times when he really wanted to watch a particular episode.

I suppose it's possible that some people don't know who Charlie and Lola are; just in case you're one of them, here's a quick Charlie and Lola lesson...

Charlie is a boy and he has a younger sister called Lola.

Lola is very cheeky and rather funny; she has a black and white view of the world and relies on Charlie to teach her the different shades of grey.

Utterly endearing and wonderfully simple, I don't know any child who doesn't find Charlie and Lola funny and engrossing.

Charlie And Lola: My Shopping Sticker Book £2.99 @ Red House

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 20 August, 2011 at 1:00 pm

Charlie And Lola: My Shopping Sticker Book £2.99 @ Red HouseI'm still on the prowl for sticker books for my mum to buy my niece for Christmas; I've just come across this Charlie and Lola: My Shopping Sticker Book over at Red House for £2.99 instead of £4.00.

My youngest niece loves sticker books.

She's only two-and-a-half and is very, VERY precise when it comes to sticking stickers in her books.  If they're not positioned just so, she'll take them off and reposition them if she can.  If they don't come off the page easily, or tear, then all hell can break loose.

Sticking is, clearly, a very important business.

She will absolutely adore this Charlie and Lola: My Shopping Sticker Book as she'll need to help Lola stock the shelves in her shop - precise sticking of items on shelves is definitely going to be the order of the day for her.

There are 16 pages of sticking joy and over 100 stickers to apply to them; that should keep her busy for a little while!

If you can find other bits and pieces to make your order up to £15 then Red House will deliver your order for free, otherwise a single item delivery charge of £1.95 will apply.

Happy sticking!

Charlie And Lola: The Absolute Complete Series DVDs £14.85 @ The Hut

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 3 August, 2011 at 9:00 am

Charlie And Lola: The Absolute Complete Series DVDs £14.85 @ The HutThe Hut have just completely won me over with this Charlie and Lola: The Absolute Complete Series DVD box set.

I absolutely adore Charlie and Lola; I've been known to sit and watch it all by myself.

If these Charlie and Lola DVDs were available when my youngest son was very into the brother and sister duo, I would absolutely and most definitely have bought them as there were times when he really wanted to watch a particular episode.

It took him a little while to understand that the TV wasn't like a menu, where you could pick and choose what you wanted to watch at any given moment and I wasn't going to fill up the Sky+ recorder completely with Charlie and Lola episodes - such a mean mummy!

Eleven Charlie and Lola DVDs make up this Absolutely Complete Box Set, so when it says 'complete' it means all 80 episodes that were ever aired on cBeebies.

Let me just repeat that - you your CHILD will be able to watch every single episode from all three series, including the Easter and Christmas specials; marvellous.

Those lovely people over at The Hut don't charge for delivery so you'll just be paying £14.85 for the Absolute Complete Series of Charlie and Lola, instead of the £29.99 rrp.

Charlie And Lola My Very Busy Sticker Book £3.15 @ Amazon

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 2 August, 2011 at 9:00 am

Charlie And Lola My Very Busy Sticker Book £3.15 @ AmazonThis Charlie and Lola 'My Very Busy Sticker Book' is on sale at Amazon for £3.15 instead of £4.99.

My little niece has just turned three and she ADORES sticker books and my mum wants to buy her a couple, so I was tasked with finding some that she'd like.

I don't know any child who doesn't like Charlie and Lola; if they haven't 'met' the brother and sister duo yet then, trust me, they'll be firm friends as soon as they do.

Lola is Charlie's little sister.  He says, and I quote, "She is small and very funny."

Lola has an interesting view on the world and in this sticker book she is 'very extremely busy'.

There are six different sticker scenes and over 100 reusable stickers for your child's sticking pleasure.

I like the reusable element; my niece is very precise and if a sticker isn't stuck on 'just so' then she's NOT happy!

The reviews are excellent too - my mum's sold and I've just won a stack of bargain hunting brownie points.

"I'm a mom of a 7 year old and now that he's going to school I thought of getting him some activity books. My very busy sticker book has big drawings and stickers and they are just so much fun that I was really hoping he could invite me to join on the game. Beware not to hide the book for your own use before giving it to your child!!!"

Happy Sticking!

Charlie And Lola Book Collection

Charlie And Lola Book CollectionA Charlie and Lola Book Collection; hurrah! I do love a good book deal AND I’m rather fond of Charlie and Lola!

Charlie and Lola have been such a HUGE hit that

a) I wonder if it’s wrong to feel jealous of Lauren Child who created them and

b) whether there has been an explosion of little girls being named Lola…?

They really are the perfect brother-sister pair; Charlie is older, patient and wise, Lola is hilarious, impatient and younger.  She asks some brilliant questions and good old Charlie tries his best to answer them.

I’m trying to think whether we’ve ever met Charlie and Lola’s parents – I don’t think we have, they’re just sort of ‘implied’.

I don’t know anyone who isn’t totally smitten with Charlie and Lola, Charlie has…

“…a little sister Lola, she is small and very funny.”

These five chunky board books are ideal for really little book worms, the titles are:

  • Charlie and Lola's Things
  • Charlie and Lola's Animals
  • Charlie and Lola's Colours
  • Charlie and Lola's Shapes
  • Charlie and Lola's Numbers
  • Charlie and Lola's Opposites

They are up for grabs from Books Direct Bargains for £6.99 (the rrp is £29.94) and delivery is free too as you've spent over £5.

Charlie And Lola Board Book Set £1.50 @ BooksDirectBargainsBooks Direct Bargains have a lovely little deal on this Charlie and Lola Board Book set of three books; at 50p a book you really can't go far wrong!

I love Charlie and Lola!

The other day when I was in the park with my youngest, we saw a boy who was the SPITTING image of Charlie - it was quite unnerving actually and I resisted the temptation to look around for Lola!

I don't know anyone who isn't totally smitten with Charlie and Lola, Charlie has...

"...a little sister Lola, she is small and very funny."

Ahhhh it just reminds me of bed time with my youngest when he was a couple of years younger.

Charlie and Lola were on TV at just the right time for post warm bath, in pyjamas and hot milk viewing which was followed by bed and more Charlie and Lola with bed time stories.

These three board books are ideal for really little book worms, the titles are:

  • Charlie and Lola's Things
  • Charlie and Lola's Animals
  • Charlie and Lola's Opposites

If you spend over £5 with BooksDirectBargains then you'll get free delivery, so it's worth looking around to see whether anything else takes your fancy.

Or perhaps order three sets and keep them in the pressie drawer for those last minute present dramas!

10 Charlie And Lola Books In A Rucksack £9.99 @ The Book People

I do love a good book deal AND I'm rather fond of Charlie and Lola - so this 10 Charlie and Lola books in a rucksack deal from The Book People is rather appealing.

Charlie and Lola have been such a HUGE hit that a) I wonder if it's wrong to feel jealous of Lauren Child who created them and b) whether there has been an explosion of little girls being named Lola...?

They really are the perfect brother-sister pair; Charlie is older, patient and wise, Lola is hilarious, impatient and younger.  She asks some brilliant questions and good old Charlie tries his best to answer them.

I'm trying to think whether we've ever met Charlie and Lola's parents - I don't think we have, they're just sort of 'implied'.

These 10 Charlie and Lola books come in a little rucksack that your child will love, and also make them very easy to take out and about with you for reading on the go.

At a quid each, you could always buy them to split up and put into party bags if you're throwing a birthday party any time soon, OR they'd make a lovely birthday gift for someone else's little Charlie and Lola fan.

Charlie and Lola's Favourite and Best Music Record (Music CD) £2.51 @ BaseI am completely ready to listen to Charlie and Lola's Favourite and Best Music Record CD now!

Charlie and Lola are just SO awesome!

I really like the concept of teaching kids little life lessons but sometimes it can come across as either a bit patronising, or so sickly sweet you just want to throw up! Charlie and Lola manages to be neither whilst still getting its message across.

I have been known to watch Charlie and Lola when I'm on my own and there are no children in the house, the teenagers like to watch it too you see!

I wonder if they'd like this Charlie and Lola's Favourite and Best Music Record CD too?

It's such a good price that I could easily buy a serious copy for my youngest and then 'joke' copies for the teenagers!  Base.com have reduced it from £10.29 down to £2.51 and there's no charge for UK deliveries either - you've got to love that!

Charlie and Lola's Favourite and Best Music Record (Music CD) £2.51 @ BaseThe track listing is as follows:

Charlie & Lola Wall Stickers £5.49 @ PinkMilk

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 29 July, 2010 at 9:00 am

Charlie & Lola Wall Stickers £5.49 @ PinkMilkI am completely ready to tell you about these Charlie and Lola wall stickers now

I really like Charlie and Lola and have been known, on the odd occasion, to watch it when I'm all by myself!

I think it's because I long for my own children to get on as well as Charlie and Lola do - I tell you, that boy has the patience and tolerance of a saint! Although it does help that Lola's small and very funny.

I've also become quite a fan of wall stickers. I don't remember seeing any when the Teenagers were small, mind you back then it was all dado rails and wallpaper borders - it was THE decorating thing of the decade along with ragging, rolling and sponging!

Anyway, I was at Tamsin's a little while ago and her daughter's room is decorated with Gruffalo wall stickers and they are AMAZING!

I have no doubt that these Charlie and Lola wall stickers will be just as fab. They're self-adhesive so just stick them wherever you want them on the wall, and if you change your mind...simply peel them off and move them!

PinkMilk have cut the price of these in half, reducing them from £10.99 down to £5.49 and standard delivery is just £1.99.

Charlie & Lola DVD £2.99 @ HMV

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 18 May, 2010 at 5:00 pm

Charlie & Lola DVD £2.99 @ HMVI am completely thinking this deal is fabulous!

I tell you, if my eldest son and daughter got on as well as Charlie and Lola then I'd be one smug parent!

Lola's young, cute, cheeky and inquisitive; Charlie's a couple of years older, cool, good but not in an annoying goody-two-shoes kind of way and he's happy to spend time and play with his little sister Lola - how on earth did the parents manage THAT?!

Charlie and Lola is one of those unique creations that appeals to everyone right across the age ranges from toddlers to grandparents and both my teenagers regularly tune in - mind you they will watch just about anything, if the test card was the only thing on TV I reckon they'd watch that!

Charlie & Lola DVD £2.99 @ HMVThis fab little DVD features lots of your fav' C&L episodes, including: 'I Can't Stop Hiccupping', 'I Am Completely Hearing And Also Listening', 'Our Shop Sells Everything', 'I've Got Nobody to Play With', 'Thunder Completely Does Not Scare Me', 'I Really Absolutely Must Have Glasses', 'It Is Very Special And Extremely Ancient', 'But Marv Is Absolutely Charlie's Best Friend' and 'I Am Inventing A Usefullish Invention'.

'Usefullish' - definitely a word that needs to be added to my vocabulary!

HMV have slashed the price of this DVD from £12.99 to just £2.99 which makes it an absolute bargain and delivery is free too; marvellous.

Charlie and Lola Activity Book £2.75 @ The Book Depository

by Sarah Macdonald in Deals on 4 February, 2010 at 3:00 pm

Charlie and Lola Activity Book £2.75 @ The Book Depository"I really must do sticking and scribbling now!" OHHH if only all brothers and sisters would get on as well as Charlie and Lola do.

"This is my little sister, she is small and very funny," would be music to my ears rather than (said in gruff teenage voice), "This is my sister; she's annoying..."

I've always had a bit of a thing for activity books, sticker books, colouring-in books - some parents argue that they are the very devil and encourage children to write and draw in ALL books, including prized first editions.  But I say RUBBISH, they are perfect for teaching the very opposite, that there are books you're SUPPOSED to write and scribble in, books you are not and perfecting the art of enjoying both.

Charlie and Lola Activity Book £2.75 @ The Book DepositoryThis book has lots of things for your little Picasso to enjoy - pictures to colour in or finish off, places for stickers and blank pages for creating a masterpiece from scratch.

In stock at The Book Depository with 31% off at £2.75 including free delivery and usually sent out to you within 24 hours too.  "I am completely ready to do book ordering now!"

Charlie And Lola: Chattering Charlie And Lola £11.99 (RRP £29.99) @ Play.com

by Heidi Scrimgeour in Deals on 20 January, 2010 at 4:00 pm

Woot, even though January is nearly over there are still bargains galore out there.Charlie And Lola: Chattering Charlie And Lola £11.99 (RRP £29.99) @ Play.com

Usually £29.99, this item is now just £11.99, saving you a lovely £18.00. Free delivery, too! As if that wasn't already absolutely very much a bargain, you get a free memory game as well. I reckon even the hard-to-impress dudes over at Bitter Wallet would have to admit that that's a pretty decent deal.

I've never seen these toys in action but since anything noisy tends to be a hit with kids, I think these would go down a storm. I like that you get two characters in this one toy - anything to put an end to the squabbling for even 5 minutes is a God-send in my book. And of course what kid doesn't like Charlie and Lola? They must be far and away some of the best-loved characters in all of kid-land. Girls love Lola, boys think Charlie's cool, and their endless adventuring and funny antics make them one of the few kids' characters that parents love, too.

Charlie And Lola: Chattering Charlie And Lola £11.99 (RRP £29.99) @ Play.comAt this price this is a great buy for the Birthday Present Drawer. No, we don't have one of those either but I'm fast realising that proper grown-up parents are organised like that, so I'm going to remedy the situation. I've lost count of the number of times we've had to dash to the toy shop en-route to a birthday party. It always ends in tears with my kids totally failing to grasp why (a) they're being allowed to set foot in the toyshop and (b) why Mummy's buying toys for their friends and not for them. So, the Birthday Present Drawer is the answer to these woes and this might just be my first purchase for it. Now, to make sure it's somewhere out of sight...
