Celebaby: Dion Twins' Debut

Celebaby: Dion Twins' Debut

On 23 October Celine Dion's twin boys arrived, then there seemed to be a Dion news blackout as everything to do with them went very quiet!

Well now it all makes sense, they are the cover stars of 'Hello! Canada' magazine, and I have to say...those little twin boys are C U T E!!!

They've been named Nelson and Eddie, "We named Nelson after Nelson Mandela. We went to South Africa on the last tour and... it was such an impact to meet him, what a hero and we decided to name a son after him."

Eddie was named after Eddie Marnay, a lyricist who has worked extensively with 42-year-old Celine and the likes of Barbara Streisand and Edith Piaff (tell me you won't be singing 'Non, je ne regrette rien' in your bestcomedic wobbly voice for the rest of the day now!)

"We wanted our sons to be able to say they were named after two wonderful people."

Celine also talked about how she and her husband, Rene Angelil, struggled to fall pregnant; the twins are the result of six rounds of IVF treatment.

"We tried five times before I got pregnant. On the sixth try, it worked out. We were blessed twice. It's extraordinary to be parents again!"

She also revealed that she had, in fact, been pregnant with three babies and confessed that she still thinks about the one who isn't with them today.

"One little baby decided to step back to help the other two survive. The doctors said to me if there's something wrong, natures takes it's course. I still think of the one who stepped back. I'm sure every woman has the feeling about the little one that's not there."

It's all very lovely to see pictures of Celine looking fabulous with her boys, but where are the bags under the eyes?  Where is the face, mind, body and soul that's ravaged by sleep deprivation?!

Celine admits that she's getting NO sleep and the only way to fit everything is to stay in her pyjamas all day - now THAT'S more like it, I remember doing that!

"My little boy, René-Charles, has a fever and I want to be there for him but I am breastfeeding the babies every two-and-a-half hours, then sometimes I have 25 minutes and I think, do I shower, eat or sleep?

It's a great challenge and it's all amazing. All day I'm in my pyjamas and it's overwhelming but all good."

Celebaby: A Christmas Truce For Jordan and Peter

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 7 December, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: A Christmas Truce For Jordan and PeterYes I know this is about Jordan AGAIN, but every so often I read something positive from the Price/Andre camp that makes me see a glimmer of hope for their kiddies.

Christmas can be tough if you're juggling two families when you're NOT an attention-seeking media hungry individual.

But Jordan's latest statement that she's taking the kids out of the public eye and her claim to want a 'normal childhood' for them, seems to be backed up with the news that she and 'Peader' are going to spend a few hours together, as a family, with the kids!

One of those useful sources was quoted in the Daily Star as saying,

"The children are now at an age when they are fully aware of what is going on, so for their sakes Kate and Peter have decided to put on a show of union.  It's been a tough year for them both, but they are determined not to ruin Christmas for the kids. They will both be on their best behaviour."

Call me old-fashioned, but shouldn't they be on their best behaviour as far as the kids are concerned anyway?!

It does take both sides to be willing to remain a strong 'family unit' when it comes to anything to do with children, but it's not impossible.

Perhaps this is a turning point...?  Or perhaps this will be more like the World War One Christmas Truce, with the gloves coming back off after all the mince pies have been eaten and the wrapping paper thrown away.

Fingers crossed for 5-year-old Junior, 3-year-old Princess Tiaamii and 8-year-old Harvey, that it's the beginning of happier times!

Celebaby: Bieber Baby

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 4 December, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Bieber BabyNooo Justin Bieber isn't about to become a father - well not that I know of anyway (what a terrifying thought that is though!)

It's quite sobering to think that Justin Bieber is the same age as my eldest, and it's easy to forget that there are parents in the background having to deal with their super famous offspring!

In a recent interview with Fearne Cotton he revealed that his mum travels with him and recently cancelled his mobile phone contract because they had a row (is it wrong to be laughing here!?)

"Mum travels with me. We argue yes, I think every parent and son argue, but I love my mum. I think it's good she travels with me but sometimes I need a break because I'm with her 24/7, but I love her, I like being with her.

The other day she cancelled my phone plan. We got into an argument about something stupid, and she was like, 'Give me the phone', and I was like, 'No', so she just went and cancelled it."

So you're worth millions and millions, the entire female population of a certain age fancies you, you drive a Lamborghini but your mum still has control over your mobile phone contract; hilarious!

I can't help wondering where he'll be in 10 years time? Rehab' with all of screws loose perhaps if reports of his recent behaviour at an upmarket London Indian restaurant are to be believed.

Apparently, he drew a fake moustache on his face and was playing with a remote controlled helicopter, then when his big bodyguards tried to usher him into this waiting car he got a bit stroppy and threw a kiddy tantrum.

I'm not sure whether I'm sympathetic or not - even with more cash in the bank than he knows what to do with, he's still a 16-year-old boy...and living with one of those isn't much fun, being one isn't so great either by all accounts.

At least that's what mine reguarly tells me.."YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE FOR ME!" Maybe I should just cancel his phone contract and see if that works.

Hey, if it's good enough for Bieber's mum it's good enough for me!

Celebaby: Lopez Twins Grow & Pricey Meal Ticket Kids

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 2 December, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Lopez Twins Grow & Pricey Meal Ticket Kids

I had to laugh at Jennifer Lopez's reported surprise at how fast her twins are growing...they're only three!

Lopez Twins GROW!

Talking to US Weekly she said, "Over this Thanksgiving week, I was sitting outside and reflecting on how fast this year had passed. Watching your kids get bigger - my babies, how much they've grown in a year!"

Just wait until they hit 16 Jennifer then you'll know what it's like to feel that time has flown.

Mind you, when they're throwing hormone-charged grief and aggro at you,  you'll wish time would speed up just a little more so they can pack their bags and LEAVE HOME!

Jordan's Meal Ticket Kids

I laughed even louder when I read that Katie Price has decided to withdraw her kids from public life, because she wants them to have a 'normal childhood'

Posting on Twitter, she said, “I start filming for my new reality show this week. Junior and Princess won’t be in any of my shows or any photo shoots again. I want to withdraw them from the public eye as I want them to have as normal a childhood as possible.”

Normal childhood?  With her as a mother?  Unlikely, I'd say!

I'm glad I don't have some of the 'pals' that Jordan has, they are continually dishing the dirt. Oh hang on! That's what they're SUPPOSED to do, silly me!

According to these 'pals' who spoke to Closer, Jordan's sudden change of attitude is down to wanting to be a 'better parent' (oooh where shall we start?!)...

“Jordan got upset after watching an episode of Pete’s reality show last week. She’s not over him and as much as she tries to pretend she’s moved on, she hasn’t. But then she got angry with herself for being upset.

She started ranting about how the kids featured in nearly the entire show, and how hypocritical it was that Pete  was always implying she was a bad mum.

Ever since Pete blasted her for allowing Princess to wear make-up and false eyelashes in February, she’s been fed up of being made to look bad.”

The best bit by far though was this, when she discovered that Junior would be involved in Pete's forthcoming tour...

“She went berserk," revealed the 'pal', "saying she was their mum and should have some control. She said: ‘They’re children, we shouldn’t risk using them a meal ticket.’"

HAHAHAA!!!  Risk it? You've been doing it for y e a r s!

Celebaby: Baby Name Deadlock For Pink

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 30 November, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Baby Name Deadlock For PinkDeciding what to call your child is one of the fun bits of expecting...unless you can't come up with something you agree on!

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Pink revealed that she and hubby, Carey Hart,  are having just that trouble.

The singer is three months preggars and, no surprises, is favouring something quirky and different.  Her husband, on other hand, doesn't want his kids to have weird names - hurrah!

"We're all over the place. I'm all about meaning, and Carey feels like he had a girl's hair cut and a girl's name, and he doesn't want kids to have a weird name. I have to get him on the boat for originality, so I'm working on him."

All of that said, the current boys name being favoured is Jameson - I quite like that (I'm sure Pink will be thrilled to hear it!).

"My dad's name is James, and my brother's name is Jason. Carey and I are both Irish, Carey's middle name is Jason, and Jameson - we like whiskey. That's a no-brainer."

Pink says she thinks Carey is going to be a really, really cute daddy - ahhh the loved-up romantic naiivity that comes with expecting your first child; it soon wears off (hush my jaded mother with teenagers mouth!)

Celebaby: Two For the Price Of One Mariah?

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 27 November, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Two For the Price Of One Mariah?Just when we thought the rumours surrounding Mariah and her pregnancy were over - a new twist to the Mariah maternity story has emerged!

Could she be expecting TWINS?!

With the preggars rumours flying around for months and months it feels like she's been up the duff for years, and now this little rumour will run and run until Mariah either confirms or denies it.

Of course she may do neither and will just tell anyone who asks, that they'll have to wait and see.

It's all come from a, seemingly, throw-away comment she made during an interview with Radio Disney...

"...I just hope they don't turn out hating Christmas!" she said, when she revealed that she found out she was expecting when she started to record her Christmas album.

The other BIG area of speculation surrounding 'The Mariah Pregnancy' is the due date.

This is being v e r y firmly kept under wraps, as was her baby bump during a recent performance at the Rockerfeller Centre in New York (mind you, you can't blame her, it's a tad chilly in New York at the moment!).

Mariah is a self-confessed Christmas fanatic - could we see an Christmas Day induction perhaps...?  Or would that be taking things a little too far?

Celebaby: A Boy For John Travolta & Kelly Preston

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 25 November, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: A Boy For John Travolta & Kelly PrestonEveryone say 'aaaahhhhh'.

John Travolta and Kelly Preston are the proud parents of a new baby boy.

They've named him Benjamin and he arrived on Tuesday, weighing 8lbs 3ozs.

The family released a statement saying, "John, Kelly and their daughter Ella Bleu are ecstatic and very happy about the newest member of the family. Both mother and baby are healthy and doing beautifully."

The family suffered tragic loss very recently, with their 16-year-old son dying as a result of a massive seizure.

They had also been trying for a new baby for several years and were beginning to think pregnancy and parenthood wouldn't happen for them again.

"We tried for several years, and we didn't think it was going to happen for us. This is a miracle, and we feel blessed."

Kelly has previously spoken about how easy her pregnancy was going, "It's been very easy and so wonderful. I've had no morning sickness and [the pregnancy] has gone by so quickly. I feel terrific!"

I must confess I've been keeping an eye out for news of Benjamin's arrival - with such recent heartache endured by the family, it's a great relief to hear that this new baby's journey into the world has been a smooth and uneventful one.

Celebaby: Not Pregnant and Not Pregnant!

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 23 November, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Not Pregnant and Not Pregnant! Those very useful sources are denying all the rumours flying around that Beyonce (yes, still) and Christina Aguilera are preggars. In fact, Beyonce was her own useful source.

I wonder how it feels to be the subject of such speculation which will only come from you looking a little 'rounder' than usual..?

I know how it feels to be on the other side - I was at a party once when I made THAT fatal error and asked the Lady Mayoress' sister when her baby was due.

The look on her face as the words continued to fall out of my mouth were enough, I didn't need to hear her say, "It's not. I always look like this..." *cringe*

Beyonce

Tight-lipped super-private Beyonce and Jay Z have both spoken out now about the endless pregnancy rumours - isn't that interesting, coming from the couple who hardly EVER comment on their private lives!

In a recent interview she said that she's not bothered by the constant rumours about her maternal status, saying, "At this point, they say that I've been pregnant like eight times, so I am kind of used to it."

"I just hope that one day when I decide to be pregnant that people are happy for me... One day hopefully I will be. It's part of being a celebrity, I guess."

I'll be happy for her when pregnancy rumour 152 turns out to be true.

Christina

Christina Aguilera recently performed at the American Music Awards wearing a tight body suit which sparked the question 'has she just piled on the pounds or is her son, Max, going to have a baby brother or sister to play with soon!?'

A close source, however, has spoken out and said that she's not expecitng...

"She is going through a hard time, getting divorced, opening a film (Burlesque) and caring for her son and hasn't had time to work out."

I don't think I'd wear a skin-tight bodysuit if I hadn't had time to work out.  Actually, I would NEVER wear a skin-tight bodysuit!

Celebaby: The Nation's Most Famous Celebaby Is Getting Hitched

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 20 November, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: The Nation's Most Famous Celebaby Is Getting HitchedThe other day we were chatting away at PlayPennies HQ when Lynley said, "What do we all think of the Royal Wedding then?"

"What Royal wedding?" I answered.

"The one between Prince Thingy and whats-her-face...erm..." Tamsin said.

Oh yes, we're a right bunch of Royal watchers here, so I went off in search of news - it wasn't difficult to find as there's comment and opinion EVERYWHERE!

I hope Prince William and Kate Middleton (sorry, Katherine - we're supposed to be calling her Katherine now) have a Spring wedding, because endless days of media overload between now and Summer is going to be agony.

According to some journos, Katherine set out to snare Prince William with a ruthless efficiency and so it's no wonder she smiling like the cat who got the cream.

Others are saying it will never last because she comes from 'normal' stock and her parents sell stuff on the internet - albeit self-made millionaires with an internet business empire, I guess that doesn't make for very good headlines.

Some say it's a dream come true, for a girl to become a princess and then queen - who are THEY kidding?!

Her fiancees mother was hounded by the paparazzi, was hideously miserable as part of the Royal household and ended up losing her life tragically early in a car chase because the media couldn't leave well alone!  Oh yes...I'm sure she's thrilled at the prospect of becoming the next 'Diana' - which she will be.

Then there's all the furore about the cost of the wedding - I DON'T CARE! Let them have a big wedding if they want to and not, if they don't. Yes I know it's the tax payer footing a very big chunk of the bill, but I really don't have any issues with that...maybe it's just me.

I'm thrilled for them both, I hope they've found the loves of their lifetime and make it all the way - it's hard enough for Joe Bloggs to do, let alone when the world is watching your every move and analysising every tiny body language indicator.

THAT ring seems to be the source of much deabte too: giving Kate his mother's engagement ring is ultimate sign that he trusts and adores her, versus, it's a second-hand ring that symbolises the start of a very unhappy relationship and marriage; nice.

Then of course there'll be the thorny issue of prodcuing a son and heir - dream come true? Sounds a bit like a nightmare to me!

Celebaby: A Girl For Rachel Stevens

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 18 November, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: A Girl For Rachel StevensI can vouch for the fact that 17 November is a GREAT day to have a baby - I did it twice, although the Teenagers don't thank me for it, they dislike sharing their birthdays with each other. Anyway, it's their own fault as one was early and the other one late, both deciding to arrive on the 17th.

So my two oldest babies now share a birthday with Rachel Stevens' first baby.

Her name is beautiful - Amelie - and she was born at 2.05am at the celeb' mums hospital of choice, The Portland Hospital.

Her publicist announced the news yesterday (wot no Twitter?!  Although, I haven't checked so you never know)...

"Rachel Stevens and Alex Bourne are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter Amelie.  She arrived this morning at 2.05am. Mother and baby are both doing really well."

Right the way through her pregnancy Rachel said she didn't mind whether the baby was a boy or a girl, but that most people said she was carrying a little girl - well, those 'most people' were spot on!

I wonder if I'll be spot on in predicting there'll soon be a mini-rachel x baby clothing range out soon..? Along with a 'happy families roasting by the open fire' Christmas glossy magazine exclusive!

Celebaby: Jay-Z Speaks Out About Beyonce Pregnancy

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 16 November, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Jay-Z Speaks Out About Beyonce PregnancyThe rumour mill is still in over drive about Beyoncé's supposedly being preggars. So much so that, the normally tight-lipped Mr Beyonce - JayZ, has spoken out.

He didn't say much, but what he did say made me chuckle; you can just feel the 'it's all so very tedious' tone to his voice.

Here's what he had to say, on the Howard Stern show, about the fact that his wife is most definitely NOT up the duff.

"I really sit back and wonder when people are going to stop. The day that Beyoncé is pregnant, I don't think Newsday is going to know before my grandmother."

Can you imagine it...

"Darling, do you think we should visit your grandmother and tell her?"

"Nah, it's ok, she'll find out through Newsday."

He also went on to say, "Everyone knows I'm married, I just don't discuss it because it's a part of my life that I'd rather keep private."

Both he and Beyoncé have always had a policy of not discussing their relationship or private lives...apart from with his grandmother of course!

Celebaby: Natalie Wants Twins and Halle Loses Nahla

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 13 November, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Natalie Wants Twins and Halle Loses NahlaIt's all go in the world of Celebaby today! Natalie Cassidy wants more kids already and Halle Berry loses her daughter, Nahla.

Natalie Wants Twins Next

So Natalie Cassidy has been well and truly bitten by the baby bug.

It's easy to get sucked into the romance of it all when your first one is a little angel - that's how I've got two with birthdays on the same day a year apart *sigh*

She'd like Eliza to have a brother or sister to play with, "I'd love Eliza to have a brother or sister quite soon to play with. We'd like to have twins next but you couldn't leave one on their own, so I'd have to have four."

Four!? Three's enough, trust me I know!

Nahla...Where ARRRRE YOOOOU!??

Halle Berry has 'fessed that she lost her daughter for a few seconds in a department store.

That's happened to me with my youngest a couple of years ago and it was a heart-stopping minute or two!

Halle revealed this little drama she had with her daughter during an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, "Talk about sweating. And you just freak out for about 30 seconds. I came undone. I think my head projected off my body," she went on to say, "and then all of a sudden, I looked down at a price tag or something, and she toddled off for what seemed like two seconds. The next thing I know, I looked back around and it was like, Whosh! Gone! And I said, 'Nahla? Nahla? Nahla?' Gone."

*Shudder* Even just reading this brings back the absolute panic I felt when my youngest had wandered off in John Lewis.

"My heart just started... I'm like, 'Close the store! Shut the door! My daughter's gone!' "She was right next to me - in a rounder of clothes where the pants were hanging. Right there. And after I became a lunatic and totally embarrassed myself, she stuck her head out and was like, 'Hi.'"

KIDS! Who'd have 'em!?

Celebaby: Pregnant Pink & Another Girl For Myleene

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 11 November, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Pregnant Pink & Another Girl For Myleene There's talk going around that Pink is expecting her first child and Myleene takes to Twitter to announce she's having another girl.

Pregnant Pink

A report in US weekly would seem to suggest that Pink - real name Alicia Beth Moore - and her hubby, Carey Hart, are expecting thier first child.

One of those good old 'sources' has spilled the alleged beans, telling, "She's 12 weeks along. She wanted to do it between tours, when she has some time off."

Pink and Carey Hart got back together last year after a 12 month separation, so the 'source' also added, "Pink was determined to make the relationship solid. Now she's really happy, and she's excited she got pregnant so fast! She'll be a brilliant mother."

A similar claim was made in April; it was vehemently denied and led to Pink tweeting this...

"Off to the gym. Lord knows when this 600-lb baby comes out that I've been growing for 8 years, i better be strong and physically prepared!!!"

"I wanted a RABBIT!"

This was three-year-old Ava Klass' reaction when mum, Myleene Klass, told her she would be having a baby sister and it's amusing me greatly!

Myleene went for a 20-week scan to discover the sex of baby number two and then, in true celeb' style, took to Twitter to reveal that she and her partner Graham Quinn are having a girl.

"Absolutely ecstatic. A little girl is joining our family. Feel extremely blessed."

She then 'fessed that confessed Ava was less than impressed with the news

"Ava's reaction when the Dr told her, priceless: 'I already told you, I want a rabbit'."

I know it's wrong, but I'm rather hoping it was accompanied with a foot-stamping, arm-folding and shouting tantrum of epic proportions.

I think Ava is a stunning name, so I'm dying to know what this new little girly is going to be called; I'm sure Twitter will be the first to break the new!

Celebaby: Septicaemia Shock For Lily Allen

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 9 November, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Septicaemia Shock For Lily AllenIt's all too easy to forget that people who live in the public eye are STILL people, just like you and me, underneath all the glitz, glamour and money.

So if your heart doesn't go out to young Lily Allen then it must be made of stone.

Maybe it's because I'm  more than a decade older than Lily's 25 years that makes her seem so little and young, and I must confess to feeling more than a bit 'mummsy' and protective towards her at the moment - which is most odd, because I'm not like that at all!

Following the devestating news last week,  that she and Sam had lost their unborn baby son at six months, Lily was rushed to hospital on Friday night, where she remains to be treated, with Septicaemia.

This is a blood infection which can kill within 48 hours if it's not caught in time; I know someone who's had it and the speed of its onset can be utterly terrifying.

Lily's spokesperson has issued the following statement

She is responding well to treatment and her condition continues to improve. Lily thanks everyone for their messages of support and again asks that she and partner Sam Cooper be left alone while she recovers.

By all accounts, Septicaemia is not uncommon following a miscarriage.  There is also the increased risk of infertility following such tragic events - for a young woman who has never made any secret about her overwhelming desire to be a mum, these are black times.

I wish I had a magic wand and could make it all better for her, I really do.

Celebaby: Van Outen V Cassidy

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 6 November, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Van Outen V CassidyOOOOH the claws are out!  And I have to say that as far as celebrity Twitter cat fights go, this one's rather amusing...at the moment;  I'll be bored of it in, ohhh, 30 seconds or so.

Van Outen V Cassidy

Here's how it's come to pass...

Denise Van Outen - stunning, talented and glamourous woman that she is - had a baby. Then, SHOCK HORROR, she went back to work a couple of weeks after she was born and has recently revealed that she'll be hiring a full-time nanny for Betsy when she returns to the West End.

Natalie Cassidy - not stunning in quite the same way ex-Eastenders actress - SLAMMED her for it, saying,

"'Denise van Outen went back to work after two weeks because she said she needed to feel normal again. 'I just think, "What have you had a child for? Having a child should be your job!""

OOOOOH!!!!

Then a few weeks ago Natalie had a baby, Eliza, and is now doing the rounds on the media circuit promoting her reality TV show 'Becoming Mum'.

It got Denise SO hot under the collar that she took to her Twitter account and did some of her own SLAMMING back!

"Natalie Cassidy criticised me for going back to work after having Betsy. Natalie's on Lorraine show now promoting her reality pregnancy/new mum show. Isn't that work???? She said she did the show for money, so yes, that is work. Pot calling!!!!"

But DVO didn't stop there!  OH no! She really got into her stride and went on to say/write about selling the happy family photos...

"We put our family picture out press to raise money for Great Ormond Street, she did a family shot and put the money in her pocket. 'She can stick her trumpet where the sun don't shine ...hee hee!!!"

MEEOOWWW!!

Celebaby: Carey's Conception Secrets & Another Willoughbaby

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 4 November, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Carey's Conception Secrets & Another WilloughbabyMariah Carey and Holly Willoughby are the stars of today's Celebaby!

Carey's Conception Secrets

After keeping schtum for so long about the pregnancy, Mariah Carey has already revealed a bit more - her conception secrets!

After a miscarriage, in 2008, her medical team advised her to relax and not get stressed if she wanted to become pregnant again - easier said than done I'd imagine!

The secret to success with this for the Carey couple was accupuncture and eating lots of popcorn in bed, with hubby Nick, whilst watching movies and TV series!

She's also commented on being worried about the birth and privacy issues. Any woman who's had a baby knows that all privacy and dignity goes RIGHT out the window the moment you jump on the motherhood bandwagon.

Mariah's already exploring booking out a whole delivery suite...who's willing to bet money on it becoming the entire hospital before long!

A new Holly Willoughbaby

Yesterday, live on This Morning, Holly Willoughby announced that she's expecting her second child next May.

I can't believe she's only 29 years old, it feels like she's been on our TV screens FOREVER! And she keeps popping up everywhere too.

Holly is married to TV producer Dan Baldwin (ha! I write that as if I know who he is, I haven't got a clue!) and the new baby will be a brother or sister to Harry, who was born in May 2009.

I wonder if this baby will end up sharing the same birthday as Max? I've got two that do and they wouldn't recommend it!  Neither would I, it makes for a very expensive day of the year *sigh*

Celebaby: Tragedy for Lily Allen

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 2 November, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Tragedy for Lily AllenIt is with a V E R Y heavy heart that I bring you the terrible news that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage six months into her pregnancy.

Unless you've been living on Mars for the last few years, you won't have failed to pick up on the fact that young Lily, 25, has wanted to be a mother for a long time.

She suffered an early miscarriage two years ago when she was with Chemical Brothers band member Ed Simmons.

She proudly announced the news of this second baby, after being given the all-clear at the 12 week scan, and has been increasingly excited at the prospect of her impending parenthood ever since.

Lily was rushed to hopsital on Thursday after experiencing stomach cramps; all attempts to save the baby failed over the weekend.

A spokesperson has released the following statement...

"It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby."

...and the family have, understandably, asked for privacy.

If you are a mother then your heart will be breaking for Lily, as much as mine, and will make you want to hold your own children tight, regardless of their ages or how much they've got under your skin today, and remember how lucky we are to have them.

I'm sure you will want to send Lily your thoughts and prayers even if they are only private ones that you keep to yourself.

All our love and thoughts to you and Sam, Lily, from everyone here at PlayPennies.

Celebaby: Mariah On Keeping Mum

by Sarah Macdonald in Celebaby on 30 October, 2010 at 10:00 am

Celebaby: Mariah On Keeping Mum

I've been keeping an sharp look out for any baby news from the Mariah Carey camp and HURRAH! At LONG last she's decided to stop keeping mum about the whole pregnancy thing.

It's been getting rather tedious, I must confess, reading endless teasing quotes and dropped hints here and there - but there has been a good reason for it.

Mariah suffered a miscarriage back in 2008 and both her and hubby, Nick Cannon, were left devestated...naturally.

"Literally, the day we were supposed to travel to Aspen we had an ultrasound," Nick said, "'unfortunately that was the time when the doctor said, "I'm sorry but the pregnancy is unsuccessful"

The couple flew to Aspen anyway and put a brave face in front of friends and family despite having just received such heartbreaking news.

Recalling that time, Mariah says the tragic news brought her and her husband closer together, "It was really sad. We had really to absorb this... We really learned a lot just as people. It kind of shook us both and took us to a place that was really dark and difficult."

Mariah also revealed that she's exhausted and suffering with morning sickness - urgh, she has my sympathy with that, morning sickess is just hideous! - but is VERY excited at the prospect of being a mummy.

However, some things are still being kept under wraps - the due date! Mariah won't be drawn on revealing when that is, saying it's still early.

But with Mariah you never can tell - what's 'early' in Mariah Carey land?

Not being one to readily dish the dirt, the next thing we'll know is the baby will have arrived and be three months old already! Either way, the rumour mill has finally been able to breathe a huge sigh of relief and gone off for a much needed Carey coffee break!

Celebaby: Marsh Marches On

Celebaby: Marsh Marches OnIn February last year Kym Marsh, best known for being in Corrie these days, had a baby boy 18 weeks early - he tragically died moments after he was born.

I have no idea how people survive that sort of loss, and can only sit here in admiration of all those who have the courage to go on and try again for a family.

Kym Marsh's 'people' have announced that Kym and her fiance, Jamie Lomas, are expecting again following positive results of a 12-week scan.

Kym Marsh and Jamie Lomas are delighted to announce they are expecting a baby together.

They are very appreciative of the love and support that has come their way in the last 12 months, but they won't be saying anything further about Kym's pregnancy for the moment.

They have confirmed this news now as both Kym and Jamie feel they'd like to be able to share their happiness with family, friends and colleagues.

I've got my fingers, toes and everything else, well and truly crossed that this pregnancy story has a happy ending!

Celebaby: Celine Dion's Twins Arrive Safely

Last week we brought you the news that Celine Dion had been admitted to hospital in a bid to delay the early arrival of her IVF twins.

Well, they only managed to stay put until Saturday when Celine and her hubby, Rene Angelil, welcomed twin boys into the world.

Speaking on a Canadian chat show, he said,

"We have tried five times since March 2009 to conceive. It's been very hard, so on Saturday at 11.11pm, they showed us the first baby that was crying, we were crying.

It was a very emotional moment, and even though we didn't speak to each other, we were both thinking about the time it took. We are very lucky, very privileged and very fortunate to have these boys."

The couple have an older son, Rene-Charles who's nine, and he's said to be thrilled with the news that he's got baby brothers.

On the day the family were going to discover the sex of the babies, he said, "I hope there's not too many girls in there!"

That's CUTE!

The boys arrived a month early by c-section weighing 5lbs 4 and 5lbs 10 and as yet don't have names -  any suggestions anyone?
